Every time I took my car here to be fixed, I left with another problem caused by their mechanics. WOW! This was absolutely amazing service. We're traveling from out of town and had a problem with our car last minute. We walked in and received probably the best service I've ever received. The man was so kind and helped us out. I've never received service as genuine and kind as this. If you're able to, call ahead of time to schedule an appointment because they are pretty popular. Drove our restored 2003 BMW convertible from SoCal to Napa. Check engine light went on and then off. Stopped in to have it examined. They truly care about your car, as well as the person driving the car. This smaller business is run by Dirk and his wife June. They are fantastic people, and truly went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule. Their prices are fair, and unlike a lot of body shops - they are not trying to give you a list of everything that is wrong and talk you into fixing it all that day. They will let you know what's wrong, but also let you know the priority of those issues so you can make the decision based on your budget. There is NO pressuring done, which I found extremely refreshing and sincere. Dirk is really down to earth, and an amazing mechanic. He knows his stuff. June, his wife, is great too!!! Love this place! I've found everyone there to be knowledgeable and friendly. Honest pricing for services provided. The last time I took my Audi to the dealer for servicing they told me the motor mounts on my car were broken and would cost in the thousands of dollars to repair. Immediately after, I had two service technician friends look at the mounts and both told me they were in working order. When I moved to Napa, I wanted to find a local mechanic so as to avoid taking my car to the dealership in Concord for servicing. After the dealership debacle, I wondered if the folks at Selbach were going to try to upsell me with unneeded services. It's been three years and not once have they tried to pressure me into doing any unnecessary work on my vehicle and, after each service, it has worked flawlessly. I've owned cars for almost 50 years now and I cannot recall a time when I could say I trusted my mechanic but, I do now with Dirk and the wonderful folks at Selbach European Service. read more

I have enjoyed working with Dirk & June for over 10 years. My SL500 CL 500 and E480 have all been treated well. Their charges are well less than Mercedez and I have encouraged them to increase their rates. So far they haven't. My wife can take car in and they are very friendly and helpful and don't charge for minor items like a bulb being out. Most recently AAA was not able to access my battery for a jump start. Dirk came to my home accessed and jumped the battery. I offered him cash and he wouldn't take it. So I went by the shop a few days later to pay for the house call. There was no charge. We owned a MB E-500. Bought it new. At about 11K miles the right front air bag blew out. Mercedes reluctantly replaced it. At just a bit over 24K miles, just out of warranty, the right front air bag failed in the same fashion. I pled my case with Mercedes without success. Since it was out of warranty, and my pleas to MB fell on deaf ears, I wasn't going to them for the repair, so I took it to Selbach European Service. The part alone was over $1,200. Dirk Selbach made the repair and then took it upon himself to contact Mercedes Benz and argue my case. They listened to him and paid for the expensive part. This place is horrible if your not an existing customer. First I tried to place an appointment here and the lady on the phone was absolutely rude. She explained that Derrick doesn't take new business but she can scan my car for free. I take my car in to be scanned and once it's completed she didn't inform me of what was wrong with the car. She completely dismissed me and told me me that they cleared as many codes as they could. They didn't want to fix my car because I had never brought my car into that shop before.
