Criminal prices. Was going to charge 1700 for full rear brake assemblies on old truck. Went across town and had it done for 500. Charged me 100 just to look at it and took 2 and a half hours of my time. Look elsewhere. I wish this business luck but they caused me so much stress. read more

Worst place in Napa worst transmission shop in the whole Bay area took my vehicle in they had it for 3 weeks sitting there then they decided they didn't want nothing to do with it because it was under warranty they have a sign that says your vehicle must have gas if they have gas to put in it they will double charge you so I took it in with a full tank of gas and it was left inside the shop so somebody siphon my gas stove every drop the response was we didn't drive it yo man is grumpy and rude just go home the whole crew looks like they're on meth fair warning do not take your vehicle to this shop worst transmission shop ever 60 years in business what a joke read more

Just had an amazing experience at Williams Auto and Transmission 238 Soscol Ave. Napa. 707-224-9466 or 252-6121. They actually provide medical devices to folks who need them for free! My wife is going through surgery and needs a wheelchair for a couple months and they gave me one and just asked that I return it when we are done. They had walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, canes, and several other types of medical devices available. Didn't cost a dime! This is an amazing business who has been in Napa for years and does this just help out people in need. Rare thing now a days! read more

These guys saved the day! I rolled into town from San Diego on New Years Eve in my 30ft motorhome. I had some concerns about the transmission and searched for a place in town with good reviews. To make a long story short a transmission shop in SD never re-installed a trans filter when they serviced my trans which destroyed my transmission. These guys got me back on the road with a rebuilt trans in under 3 hours. If this shop couldn't get this done that day I would've had to wait until Monday as everything was closed until the following week due to the holiday. These guys also due a great service for the local community by collecting used medical equipment for use by people that can't afford to pay for them. read more

Honest and competent! The automatic transmission in my wife's car had been acting up for several months, and was progressively getting worse. We live in Vallejo, but someone told us to take it to Williams. So glad we did! We paid them about $140 to inspect and perform standard maintenance service on the transmission and diagnose the problem (late shifting). They called about two days later to say that they were very sorry that they couldn't find the problem with our car and suggested we take it to GM. They seemed more disappointed than we were, profusely apologetic (for mechanics!). But here's the best part: Now, more than two years later the car has been working just fine! We never did take it to GM and that problem we were having is gone! They did fix it! Bonus: one of our dashboard lamps burned out so you couldn't read the odometer without a flashlight pointed at the right angle. They noticed this when writing up the service order but didn't say anything. They replaced the bulb and didn't charge us! If you've ever had to change one of those bulbs you would know how tedious it is too remove and re-install all those plastic panels. This is a perfect example of a friendly and well-run family operation. Avoid the car dealerships! These guys are great! read more

My boyfriend had his car towed to this place after it broke down. It is recommended by AAA, but I would not recommend this place to anyone! They did a diagnostic on the car, told us what was wrong with it, and then gave us an estimate for fixing it. Well, we decided not to get it fixed and have it towed back to the house. We could not get it towed until later on that evening. When I informed the owner about it, he was completely rude to me and disrespectful about the situation. He wouldn't even look me in the face when speaking! He said that he was not going to be liable for the car after I signed off on it. Fair enough, but he sure as hell didn't have to be rude! We later had the car towed to the house, and low and behold, it was the owner's son (AAA tow-truck driver). He asked my boyfriend if he had paid for the service at the shop. When he said, "yes", the son said, "Well, I need to see a receipt, because if it wasn't paid for, I don't want to be a part of the crime!" What tow-truck driver has the right to demand seeing a receipt?! The car was parked outside of the gate of the auto shop like the owner requested, because HE didn't want to be responsible for it. My boyfriend had the receipt at home and showed it to him out of courtesy when they arrived. Even the owner's son was disrespectful and accusatory! AAA should do a better job screening out the places they certify. This place may do decent work, but their customer service skills are something left to be desired. They just lost a customer! We were going to take the car back their when we were ready. Williams Automotive definitely portrays the "Good 'Ole Boy" attitude. read more

My grandfather passed away last week and my mom wanted to know where she could donate extra medical equipment. She had two walkers, a cane, a wheelchair etc. Yvonne Baginski, with Share the Care, use to do this service. Unfortunately. her neighbors had issues with the arrangements. Thank goodness Williams Automotive accepts these donations. How lucky we are to have help like this since there are a countless number of elderly people who cannot afford the expense medical equipment from a store. Worst customer service ever! I'm a Physical Therapist who came in to get some equipment for a patient and proceeded to be talked down to by a guy -who apparently is the manager. I was basically told how to do my job when inquiring about some leg rests that my patient was in dire need of ( I only have my doctorate in this stuff) then I was told I had to pay for the equipment ( numerous people I have spoken with and have obtained equipment from this place said this is not the case). When I asked to speak with the manager to file a complaint he rudely said, " I don't have time to talk to you, I got phones ringing!" Rude and pathetic excuse for customer serviceman (that's all you are) if you ask me. Good luck with your business! read more

I have been bringing my car to Williams for years. These guys will always tell you exactly what's wrong with your car and how much it's going to cost to fix it before the start the repairs. They will work with you and your budget, and are honest and honorable people. I just had a problem with my suspension and they helped me get back on the road in no time. It's nice to know that they don't take advantage of my gender and try and sell me repairs I don't need. I am a lifetime customer, and recommend you take your car there. read more

Williams and his mechanic said my transmission was locking up and missing a gear. They wanted $250.00 just to take a look with the pan off. Williams said it will probably need a rebuild. When i took my car to a reputable transmission mechanic he said there was absolutely nothing wrong with my transmission. Now 5 years later nothing wrong. read more

Beware of bad transmission people! I took my 2004 GMC Yukon to Lee at Williams Transmission and Automotive in Napa about 2-1/2 years ago. My original transmission went out after 240,000 miles (Pretty Good). I had Lee put a new one in... He said it had a 3 year warranty when he installed the new one. I use my Yukon for dump runs or when I go to the mountains. I don't drive it regularly. I have another vehicle I drive daily. My Yukon only had 7,000 miles on the "supposedly" new transmission before it totally failed. I went back to Lee and Williams Automotive to find out it only had a two year warranty and I was out the $3,000 I spent. They offered no help! I would never use Williams Automotive again and would recommend others to use someone else. I took my vehicle to Doug at Classic Auto in Napa. Classic Auto gives a 3 year, 36,000 warranty on all their transmission work. Williams is deceptive and dishonest. Shop around and watch out for the bad guys! RZ read more

I actually didn't come here for automotive service, believe it or not. My grandmother is disabled and was in need of a wheelchair for outings. A local cancer center informed us that Williams Automotive collects and donates wheelchairs. I was nicely surpried that an automotive center would participate in a program like this. My grandma called and reserved a wheelchair, and I picked it up on my lunch hour. They were super nice, and I commend business that give back to their communities. These guys are really great! They take the time to explain whats going on with your car. The owner, Lee always calls me himself to go over the options available. And, if the problem is a dealership warranty thing, he will tell you to take advantage of the warranty instead of just doing it and charging you. Thats very rare! Edd, the nice guy at the front desk is always cheerful and friendly. Never rude or impatient. He makes the customer feel very comfortable and at ease. Again---very rare these days. About a year ago my 93fullsize lifted blazer was shifting a little hard from 1st to 2ed so before I had some real issues with it I had Williams take a look ...so 2 weeks later that tell me it had to have a full rebuild witch cost me $4000 dollars ( with a life time warranty) when I first pulled out of the lot my truck drove and shifted the same way it had been before so I turned around and went back to ask why ....they told me that that is how it is supposed to shit and that all sales are final ....well surprise.... 6months later it's broke.... Good thing I have that lifetime warranty right?.... Wrong... They "fixed" it but when I come in to pick it up I'm told that my bill is $1600 because the " lifetime warranty" covered everything but the part that broke in my transmission w.t.f ......... All Sales Final.... and now they are saying that I no longer have a warranty because it's not there parts.... Wait what....W.t.f read more
