We came here for dinner recently and it was pretty good. Inside was spacious and the staff was welcoming and friendly! We got their chili peppa chicken and Teri fried chicken MCS combo plates. Chili peppa chicken: texture was good, bite size and full of flavor with every bite. Love their Mac salad, it was well-balanced. Their fried saimin was good, but a little salty. Texture wise it wasn't chewy, it was ok but sticky. A little more sesame oil, broth or bacon fat to loosen it up would be perfect. Overall presentation was mouth-watering. Teri fried chicken MCS combo plate: everything was the same as above, but the Teri fried chicken lacked in taste. It was like eating regular fried chicken with a hint of Teri sauce. If that's the case, we'll just stick to the chili peppa chicken instead. Overall presentation was good as well! Tip: POG ginger spritzer is a must! Very refreshing that is if you like ginger. We went to explore Waimea Canyon , gosh it was breathing , mind blowing , eye popping experience ^^ i loved it!!! we did three hikes muddy, sunny and rainy it was so fun ! Got so hungry after that and i was yelping and found this place i got oxtail soup no noodles and they put shitake mushrooms instead it was so good ! They were all really friendly and nice. They seemed busy but took time to answer our questions. We were all vegetarians in the party. I got the veggie meatloaf and honestly wasn't my kind of food. It was a little cold in the middle too. My parents got the veggie burger and didn't really like the patty. Now, the vegetarian trio was really good. The lettuce wrap, and the other two things were fantastic. I would highly recommend! Atmosphere is a little dinner style. However the servers made it a really positive and inviting environment. I really liked their desert the strawberry guava chiffon. I would could back, but maybe only get the vegetarian trio and the desert. This was amazing. As a vegetarian I never had the chance to try local Hawaiian fare, but MCS Grill finally allowed me to quench my curiosity. I got the Trio and my sister got the Loco Moco. My husband and I stopped by this place for lunch after a long morning of hiking Waimea Canyon. You MUST try the Hawaiian Chili Peppa Chicken! My husband and I shared some and it was absolutely magical! It has a good spicy kick to it and it was something we needed in our lives but didn't know it yet. The hubby also ordered the Teri Burger and it was delicious. It had the perfect amount of seasoning and love mixed in the house made patty and the grilled pineapple added just the right amount of sweetness. I got the 1/2 order of Saimin even though it was hot and humid out because I wanted to try something new and savory. As expected, I loved it and would go back to order it again. Even though we had more than enough to eat with our main order, we went with the recommendation of our server to try the Strawberry-Guava Cream Cheese Cake. Stopped for a weekday lunch after Waimea Canyon. Restaurant was not busy and we had attentive and friendly service. Keiki meals came with a fruit appetizer which was a nice touch. The MCS combo plate with chili peppa fried chicken was delicious. It was a lot of food for sure! We also ordered a side of fries which were good. Nice spot in an area without a ton of food options. We bite the Kauai Kookie factory store afterwards which is located in the same complex. Two birds with one stone! One note, we were driving east and Maps advised us to circle around a side street because left turns are illegal from the main highway. Keep that in mind and don't ignore your map if you think the detour is unnecessary. read more

Amazing. I got the shrimp scampi and a large Cesar salad with house made dressing. Big helpings and so flavorful! Some of the best shrimp scampi I've had in my life, with buttery creamy sauce full of sautéed garlic. Maybe ask for the salad dressing on the slide cause they don't hold back! So happy we gave this place a try! After a full day including the Kauai Coffee Company, Waimea Canyon and exploring nearby beaches my boyfriend and I were STARVING. We found that most of the vegetarian options on the way back to Kappa were already closed so we decided on MCS even though we could not find a menu. The girl who greeted us was very friendly, and our waitress (I wish I had gotten her name) was probably the best I have ever had. App: Vegetarian Trio, SO good the "meatballs" are to die for Entrees: Both came with choice of brown or white rice and greens or potato salad- big portions! I had the MCS combo which had pepper chicken and fried saimin (noodles with green onions and pork belly)- the chicken was fried and had an amazing hint of spice and the noodles were yummy. My boyfriend got the veggie meatloaf which was awesome as well- if I had ordered it I wouldn't miss the meat one bit. We were stuffed but got the passion fruit bar, butterscotch brownie and piña colada coffee cake to go which we devoured later. We ordered the crab dip for an appetizer and after eating a bite, I knew something was wrong with it. I looked at the "crab" and saw that it was IMITATION CRAB!!! I asked the server if the chef actually used imitation crab and she said yes. No where was it written that they used fake crab and the server never once told us that the dish used fake crab. Maybe you should second guess the quality of the seafood that they serve if they are cutting corners to save money and mislead customers read more

Four stars since this is really good comfort food, but not something unique or spectacular. That said, the food here hit the spot perfectly. Everything we ordered was simple fare, but made just right and left me smiling. The hot peach cobbler reminded me of what Grandma used to make. Actually, the whole menu reminded me of what my Grandmother would cook for us (this is high praise). Food was american style comfort food (steak, chicken... oh the chicken is good, fish, salad) at prices I would be comfortable paying on the mainland. The decor is so simple to be nearly non existent and the outside of the building looks more like a warehouse than a restaurant. No wonder the place was full of locals with just the two of us outsiders. The staff was as friendly as could be, very helpful, and made things quite pleasant. Overall this is a great place to stop in if you're tired of the food at the tourist hot spots and want to just enjoy something nice at a bit slower pace. Hands down the best place to eat on Kauai! After my first day there I craved it so often that I went back nearly every day. I tried the veggie loco moco....tasty, hearty comfort food. MC's combo...tantalizing pairing with crispy and tangy chicken and flavorful noodles and the camparnale pasta...the best pasta dish I've ever had with a very unusual noodle. The Veggie trio blows my mind. The chiffon pie was the perfect cap off to a delightful meal. The staff their is so warm, welcoming and beautiful. Feels like home. We are locals who had reservations for group of 5 to celebrate a birthday. We were 1 of 3 groups (another party of 2 and party of 2) seated in the restaurant. It took one and one-half hours to get our meals. All the meals were stone cold when it arrived. We got our order in piece meals (all at different times. The Laulau Pork was delicious! Wrapped in taro leaves and streamed... so good. The Katsu pork (breaded and fried) was also good but paled in comparison. It was weird that we were the only ones there but that also meant the service was great. I hope they make the Laulau a regular on the menu; it was one of our favorite dishes served on the island. read more
