Loco Moco with coffee.
Layla F.

Located upstairs in the shopping center What a great place to have a great breakfast. The menu was extensive and had something for everyone. From traditional bacon and eggs to Hawaiian favorite like loco moco and spam dishes. Our waitress Camille was fantastic an attentive. Helped us order and gave stellar service. Food came out hot and coffee was topped off regularly. I enjoyed my loco moco breakfast. Hope to return soon to try out the French toast and pancakes. The restaurant is located on the second level of the shopping center. Comfortable booths and fun views of the mall below. It was raining off n on while we were there. No problem as the open air seating was fully covered Great sit down dining Especially if you're gonna shop or do a longs drug store run. All right there. Mahalo Camille for making the start of our day extra special.

DEC2025 Good enough we came here after going to the other location a few days prior. This time we went for dinner though. Upstairs within a shopping area, we didn't have any problems finding parking or the location. Service was helpful with any questions we had, and checked in frequently with water refills. We ordered a lot of things to share for the table. Shumai, ikageso, egg tarts, chicken wing dings, oxtail ramen, tonkotsu ramen, chicken katsu loco moco style. Everything was cooked well. Each of the fried dishes came out hot and crispy. I really liked the chicken wings with the sweet savory notes and that persistent crunch. The shumai were interesting. I liked the filling, but the wrapper was also thicker which was nice. The oxtail ramen was made well and simple. Everything was cooked down and wasn't heavy in the slightest.

We ate breakfast here the morning after we arrived. The food was delicious. I had a spam, egg, and cheese sandwich, and my husband had the ube pancakes. The staff were so friendly. It is an open air cafe which adds to the overall atmosphere and experience.

Loco moco da best!

We ordered 2 Loco Moco and this has been one if best Loco Moco's I have had. Perfectly cooked eggs to order, hamburger patties tender and juicy, gravy light taste homemade not the dark packaged da kind and ono Mac salad. Da Best do far!!

The Koloa Diner is located on the second floor of the Shops at Kukui'ula in Poipu. Finding it took a minute -- the plaza isn't very big, but the signage could definitely be better. Once we arrived, it wasn't busy, and we were seated right away. It is an open air restaurant. It has a very "Hawaii" feel to it. When we ordered coffee, my partner asked for decaf and was told they didn't have any. For a place known as a Hawaiian breakfast diner, that was a bit surprising. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and my partner went with the Silog Special -- a Filipino-style breakfast. My Eggs Benedict was good, and the eggs were done perfectly, but the potatoes were bland. The texture was spot on, but they really could've used some seasoning. Our server was friendly and attentive, keeping my coffee filled and our waters topped off. Overall, it was a decent breakfast spot -- friendly service and good food, though a little more attention to flavor (and maybe a decaf option) would make it even better.

Decided to go to KD based on rec from a few and the convenient local in Poipu. Saw the reviews and thought it looked reasonable. BUT...as a bro I couldn't believe they had bbq pork buns! Sesame bean filled balls! SCALLION PANCAKES! Real crispy noodles! We partook in all of the above and some veggie ramen as well. Tastes - after the piping hot dishes came out and cooled a bit - were very good and authentic. Host was cool and attentive. Location on the second floor was nice. This was quite a find here down South. There's one in Lihue but since we pretty much always stay south this will be the place we will go.

4.5 stars I ordered Hawaiian style beef afritada and it was good. They put a lot of beef, and the sauce was slightly strong in flavor, it's a tomato base stew. The banana lumpia was very good. My husband ordered garlic shrimp and we didn't realize it was a fried coated shrimp with garlic topping but otherwise it was delicious. The calamansi juice is good it was refreshing and you can taste the calamansi ( not watered down). Our food came promptly. And the waiter was very attentive. The ceiling is decorated with big fans. The restaurant is open I think no AC but with fans. This location is in the 2nd floor of a strip mall. It has elevators if you don't want to use the wooden stairs. The mall has a lot of shops and it was pretty busy with tourists and families and children. It had plenty of parking.

Service was a bit slow because I think they are understaffed. Food was good and servers very friendly. Love the outdoor vibe and location.

Service works on Hawaiian time so don't come if in a rush. We were seated during lunch time and when no one came by after 15min, we had to go and grab menus ourselves. They have an assortment of brunch, Filipino, Chinese and Japanese dishes that felt a bit incohesive. Unadon: Average flavors but the steamed vegetables was very disappointing. Garlic shrimp: Came out piping hot but there really wasn't any flavors. Fresh Calamansi Juice with honey: Not bad. Overall, with the quality of the food and service, esp for the price, I can't recommend coming here. FYI: Extra charge if not paying with cash

I must be honest the best garden hollandaise eggs I have ever eaten. Light and buttery flavor. Yes I did lick the plate and let me tell you it was fabulous!

We flew in yesterday and were jet lagged for sure! Decided to go for breakfast as early as possible since we'd been up since 2am (8am at home). Service was outstanding (thank you, Cheri), coffee hit the spot, both our entrées were delicious! We sat outdoors and there were people doing landscaping (restaurant can't control the noise). Music was great.

This popular Līhu'e eatery opened a second location in sunny Po'ipu! Same menu, but some things aren't quite available yet (ask your server) since they just opened, but I'm sure they rectified this by the time I posted this review. Same friendly service and quality food as the original location, with the added bonus of ocean views and sunsets from Kauai's South Shore. Casual and possibly romantic. The kalamansi drink is my favorite, and I highly suggest it.

Chicken katsu. Piping hot crispy. Tasty. Large portion.

It is located upstairs at the Kukuiula shops. Open air very comfortable with new seating. Service is excellent. Menu has lots of local favorites including breakfast. We went for lunch and had a very nice experience.

Inside is very modern and chic, with terracotta tables neutral colors of black and gold, and perfectly matching pendant lighting. We won't let the service get in the way of this review, because everyone is bound to have a bad day that unfortunately spills into your work life. I heard another table complain about our server, and it only confirmed that when they took our order, they were very short and dismissive... like we were doing them a disservice. I know that's not the norm, and we wont let that get in the way of an amazing meal. The food was amazing. Almost everything we got was top notch. If it sounds good on the menu? Get it. In particular the pork belly bowl. I would honestly get it Tinono style, because the sauce options are just drizzled on top. Or possibly ask for the sauce on the side. Everything else was very, very good, with exception to the Bibimbap Kalbi bow. Tasted way too average to warrant the price tag. This is one I would skip next time. Cocktails were delicious including the Bloody and the Lilikoi Marg. This is another one of those, must-stop-in places in Koloa!!

We sat on the patio but they call the main dining room however it is outside. The host and the servers were very nice on both days helping us choose our dishes and beverages. The first night were shared the shrimp and unui (sp?) patties. They were tasty and slightly sweet but over-charred and the sauce served with them did not complement them very well. It needed a fresher sauce or something with a little kick The first night I Had the chicken Which is actually a tiny little bird I should've known from the name. - pouisson. It was well cooked, but there was very little meat on all of the bones. And also needed a sauce of some kind. The one baby bok choy was a nice addition. Two of the group had the fish and chips it was made with swordfish that night and was very tasty. However, the chips were slightly limp and not hot. No one wanted to return them, but they really were not very good. One of the other entrées was the veggie bowl with seared Aji tuna and it had quinoa at the bottom with lots of roasted beets and other vegetables. It was a very good dish. The second time I ordered the grilled seafood bowl because that night they were offering Oppa as the grilled fish on the kebabs/skewers that were served on top of the bowl the seafood was cooked, absolutely perfectly, and it had pickled cucumbers, pickled red onions, slightly cooked carrots, and then regular cucumbers on top of lightly dressed soba noodles. It was a very tasty and hearty bowl. We also ordered a kale, beet and blue cheese salad for the table, but what came out was their strange version of Caesar salad, which has chickpeas on it which of course we did not want. It took them quite a while to bring the kale and beet salad to the table, however when they did, it was quite tasty a combination I would not have thought of on my own The first night we ordered the passionfruit cheesecake which had a strange chocolate crust that was too thick and a very light topping of passionfruit. It was fine, but we would not order it again. The whole restaurant is a nice change from all of the really overpriced offerings in the area. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is professional and fun at the same time.

We ordered takeout and while waiting for our food, we browsed the grocery aisles and then checked out the surrounding shops. I really enjoyed the Ahi poke bowl. There was this tasty kimchi cucumber on the side with sweet o ions and avocado. The fish was fresh. G got the quinoa and vegetable bowl, topped with roasted chicken. It was a delicious salad with beets, macadamia nuts, kale, and more- and the chicken was nice and moist.

We had a relatively early dinner, but the number of people who entered as we were leaving were many. We had a very nice server who was helpful. We had a caesar salad to start. It was large enough for us to share and very flavorful. My husband had the Melanzane alla Parmigiana (eggplant parmesan) that came with spaghetti arrabiata. The eggplant was placed on top of the spaghetti and took on the spicy flavor of the arrabiata sauce. I had the Fresca Dal Mare. Although it was tasty, the clams and mussels were tiny. The pasta overwhelmed the dish. Although the prices were among the cheapest that we had for dinner on Kauai, the pasta was the center of the dish and overshadowed the rest of it. I would return to the restaurant the next time that we are on the island, but I would ask way more questions about the contents of the dish before I order.

It was time to wind down my first night here, but I also wanted to try one of only two bars/restaurants on the property during my limited time. Whenever I stayed at a hotel, I always wanted to try any onsite restaurants with hopes of getting a well-rounded experience. They offered breakfast (7am-11am), lunch (11am-5pm), dinner (5pm-9pm), and drinks (all day and a daily Happy Hour 2pm-3pm). They even delivered to your room if you were feeling lazy or not well. Would I order a themed cocktail such as a lava flow, or something else while I lazed steps away from Poipu Beach!? PURCHASE(S) Poipu Paniolo Cocktail ($18.00): Made with cranberry juice, lemon juice, ginger ale, simple syrup, Buffalo Trace bourbon whiskey, this was an effervescent fruity sweet elixir with a kiss of harshness from the whiskey. An easy hazy to enjoy! SERVICE One busy friendly woman managed the drinking degenerates at this "late" time of night (everything closed early on Kaua'i) before they closed-up in about 30 minutes. I quickly scanned the drink menu for my first victim, ordered that, and once last-call was made, I placed a final order. Each time, I was able to watch my drinks be prepared and gracefully ready. Everything was straightforward, and she did a wonderful job filling the orders, cleaning her station, and getting us out of the bar - mahalo! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) I had no vehicle, so I simply walked from my room. However, there was a nightly $40.00 fee for guests if they parked on the property, and there might've been some free parking along the many nearby roads and streets.
