This review is for a water softener installation 2 years ago. On 8/20/2022, we decided to purchase a water softener and water filter package due to their competitive pricing. The service was great, and the water softener appeared to be installed correctly. The technician did a quick regen test to ensure water was cycling through the tank. I took the technician's word that everything was working as expected. We noticed no difference in the water quality and assumed that we never really had a hard water problem. As owners of water softeners in the past, we typically refill 4 bags of salt every 4 months or so, but for this unit, I was barely refilling my salt reserve. At this point, it hit me, and I realized there was a strong possibility that this unit never worked. This was partially my fault, but I do think the MCS technician should perform a test before walking away from a job site. I called MCS for a checkup and agreed to the $85 fee because I couldn't prove that it had never worked from day 1. The technician confirmed that my water was hard. It appears that the tank had no water to create the brine. For two years, I have been robbed of soft water! Felt completely cheated. Lesson learned and a warning for anyone who plans on getting a softener with them. Triple-check their work and ask for proof that the units are functioning as expected. read more

Called MCS Water on Friday 06/09/2023 to have my filters changed. I have a water tester so I know when I should have my filters replaced. I have my filters replaced every 18-20 months, not the recommended 12 months. The lady starts off by speaking Chinese, What she should have said was MCS Water how my I help you? Then if the customer speaks Chinese then they can start the conversation. They have my phone number on file so they know who I am and where I live. The lady starts right off the bat by being judgemental saying my water system is 10 years old and I need to get a new system! I said my water system is fine I just need to have the filters replaced. She said it's going to cost $109 for 4 filters, sounds fair since I paid $98 18 months ago. My appointment was for Sunday 06/11/2023 with a 3 hour window of 2-5 pm. By 4:30 I was getting worried, I got a call from MCS asking me to open the gate for the technician. The technician didn't speak any English so it was hard to understand what he was saying. We communicated by using hand gestures. The technician was very thorough in checking for leaks and water pressure after changing out the filters. The technician held out 2 fingers and pointed at the spigot I understood what he was gesturing. In 2 hours let the tank empty and then it's all good to drink. read more

I've been researching different water purification systems and getting quotes from a few different companies. I'm paranoid when it comes to water quality, especially when I consider that my damily and I will be drinking and showering in it daily. drinking water or the water we shower in daily. Overall landed on Puronics brand and decided to go with MCS. They came and tested the water quality and evaluated install in order to provide quote and layout. They also made sure that the water from the system is split apart from sprinkler system. Their pricing came in the most competitive and I appreciated how quick and careful they with the actual installation. Home I was renting had an MCS reverse osmosis drinking water filtration system already installed. After I moved in, I called MCS for a filter replacement service. Saleswoman I spoke with asked me if I would like to purchase a new reverse osmosis water filtration system, explaining that they had a current promotion for unit she was trying to sell me which was better than the one already installed per the notes in her records. She was very pushy but I still declined her offer and declined an appointment for installation of a new unit. When the day of the proposed appointment came, an installation worker was outside my home and the same lady called me saying worker was waiting for me outside. I told her I never agreed to a new unit and never made the appointment. She insisted that the new unit would be better than the existing one. I was hesitant but relented and opened the door for the worker to replace the system. I asked him to leave the existing removed unit so I could keep perhaps to use for another place when I move. Paid almost $400 for a unit I never wanted. A year later when the filters should be replaced, my girlfriend suggested I go with her drinking water company that she liked very much and a particular worker there was very honest, professional, friendly and helpful, previously assisting her and her family with some faucet repairs while visiting to replace the water filters at her place. Found out from this honest & knowledgeable worker that the filtration unit the MCS saleswoman pushed me to buy was actually worse and significantly less expensive than the unit that was already installed!!! The system previously installed had 5 filters + membrane vs. the system she sold me which only had 3 filters + membrane!!! Scandalous sales practices by the salespeople at this company pushing me to buy something I did not need nor want & lied directly to me saying that it was a better product when in actuality was a worse one than what I already had!!!!! Will not trust MCS Water due to this saleswoman's deceitful business practices!!! read more

Great service and friendly staff. We live in Torrance which is quite far from where they're based. With that said, it's been only 6 days since we called for a quote and we got our water softener installed already (on a Sunday). Aside from that, they also did a really nice job on the insallation. There was quite a bit of work because they had to route from the main valve to my garage which is about 50-60 feet away. All the plumbing looks great and no mess left behind. read more

During the install day, the team showed a bit late but still made it. They got to work and did a very clean job. No mess and everything is neatly installed. All piping works for my space and doesn't require me to sacrifice my garage. The crew was professional and even made a wiring change when I requested. I couldn't believe they managed to get the equipment in the small space beside my existing shelves. I previously had an under the skin RO but decided to upgrade since mine was 10 years old. The new filtered water is great, not much better than the previous RO though. It does take significantly less space under the sink. The softened water is great too. I wouldn't drink it, it has a briny taste, but I've noticed significant improvements to my fixtures I'm trying to protect plus my hair feels so much nicer. I'm assuming he brought parts along based on this because he was able to replace a big part on the spot. Tony was very knowledgeable. He could tell what was potentially wrong in my house just by looking at the system. He even fixed my sink upstairs that no longer had water flow. All in all, the whole service took about 2 hours. He was able to reset my water softener, replace a part, and fix my sink. He even gave me some water test strips. Spending $200 for a 5-year maintenance is completely worth it. Now I don't need to think about it again until 2031!

I suppose to have my water softener service and change my water filters at the same time today. MCS water quoted me $399 for water softener service and $180 for filters tax included. I did some research on water softener. Since my unit is still fairly new. I decided to skip the softener service for now. When the technician arrived. I told him my decision. He called back to his office and the filters price increased from $180 to $185. Now a day $5 really means nothing. I have the technician finished his job but that just left a bad taste in my mouth. Looking for a Water Softener and water treatment system for our home. There are quite a few options here in the San Gabriel Area. MCS carries the Puronics Water Softener. They came out to my house for free and did a water test and water hardness test and gave me options. I called them yesterday and the system will be installed this weekend.
