I've been putting off getting our water softener fixed. Luckily CCW was able to come out the same week that I found them on Yelp. It was easy to book a service on their site. The communication was very clear. I received text updates regarding time of arrival. Tony text me prior to coming and I sent him a picture of the system. I'm assuming he brought parts along based on this because he was able to replace a big part on the spot. Tony was very knowledgeable. He could tell what was potentially wrong in my house just by looking at the system. He even fixed my sink upstairs that no longer had water flow. All in all, the whole service took about 2 hours. He was able to reset my water softener, replace a part, and fix my sink. He even gave me some water test strips. Spending $200 for a 5-year maintenance is completely worth it. Had them come out to upgrade my old water softener that wasn't working so well. It was a dinosaur Fleck. Tony came out promptly and tested the water and noticed the system wasn't calibrated quite right. Untreated was hardness 18, old system was reducing 8-10. He did suggest servicing, but wanted to get something newer and a hybrid system. He schedule to come out next morning to install a Clack WS512 Hybrid+. Included in the pricing was redoing the pipes from 3/4" to 1" to match the main and fixing the way the bypass was weirdly setup. Even though the job probably took more man power and materials than anticipated, they took care of everything. Enjoying soft water once again. Digital system is much nicer to monitor than the old manual one. Really appreciated their prompt service and making everything was done right. read more

I can't recommend Crystal Clear highly enough! Tony was fantastic--he came out personally to do our estimate, and his knowledge really showed. I believe he's the owner, it's great when the owner comes out to talk to customers directly. He made great suggestions like doing a high loop to bypass the airgap in the sink so we could avoid drilling another hole into the quartz countertop to install the drinking water system tap. We'd done a bit of homework on water softeners beforehand, but Tony's expertise and confidence made the decision easy. He finished the estimate in under an hour. Pricing is very competitive for full installation of water softener and drinking water system with fridge line connection. Cheaper than both of my neighbor's system installation, they paid $4k+. Crystal Clear also use a Clack valve which is supposed to be one of the best along with Fleck. This can be serviced by most competent plumbers unlike systems like Hague or Culligan which have propietary parts making repairs difficult unless you go with the company directly (which means it will be expensive). The very next day, a team of three came out for the full installation. Andy, the lead technician, was just as impressive--he knew exactly what to do. He installed the tankless RO system while the other 2 installed the water softener. Took about 2 hours or less. Is this the cheapest route? No, you could probably find the parts yourself and hire a independent plumber to do the install cheaper but for the ease and convenience Crystal Water provides, price was well worth it. read more

Called and spoke to a woman about installing a faucet and water filter, that I had previously purchased. She asked for clarification if they needed to drill holes for the spout and I said no, it's just the faucet because we have a 2-in-1 facet. She agreed and quoted me $140 with a next day schedule. Ryan was then dispatched to my address. Upon arriving he looked at what I had available and asked where the spout was. He was informed there was no spout it was a 2-in-1 system. He then informed us that it would now increase our previous quote from $140 to $260. I disputed this saying that the original quote was $140 and I had already explained to the woman I spoke with on the phone, that there was no independent spout that it was just the faucet. He apologized but said he was unable to proceed due to the original quote limiting what he could do. I said if that's the case I'm not paying more and will cancel the service. Now I would assume to save a sale, he would have called the operator to receive clarification to clear up a simple miscommunication. Which I understand some people are not like that and take things for face value. I tried to be understanding and maybe say there was a misunderstanding and I could call and clear it up because maybe I misunderstood or maybe she didn't initially understand what I was asking for. I called 5 times. 30 minutes apart. It either gave an automated "this person is not available at this time" and it hung up on me, it went to a vm or just kept ringing with no prompt after. Due to this I am not resorting to writing a review. I'm not one to typically write reviews because I understand miscommunication and misunderstanding is a natural human flaw, but the fact that I can't get ahold of anyone and was trying to be upsold on a service is not acceptable. Hopefully it was just a fluke and this company doesn't normally operate like this. We unfortunately did not have a very positive experience with this company. The initial install last year went fine, no complaints. We called recently to have someone come out to exchange the filters due to the elaborate process of switching them out on our own. The technician showed up, without so much of even a 'hello' said to us - went straight to the cooler to switch out and left without a word spoken. We tested our water afterwards to discover the TPS reading was quite high. I reached out to the company, and was then told that we have to flush the filters 2 -3 times. I'm surprised nobody said this to us initially, and somehow we were expected to know this. I would assume that the fee we were charged would cover the flushing of the filters - we essentially paid $200 for them to unscrew old filters and screw on new ones. I find it baffling that we are then supposed to know to unscrew them again after he leaves to flush each one out, and then attach again? The logic isn't there, I could have spent half that amount by buying the filters online and swapping out if we knew that's all he was going to do. I cannot recommend this company, we will absolutely be searching for another local company that has better customer service. Update: Your tech came and unscrewed our old filters and screwed the new ones on, and then we were told we had to unscrew them after he left to flush them out. Why even screw them on in the first place? We are fully capable of taking the 20 seconds to swap them out. The price isn't the issue, and you absolutely were up front about the cost, which we agreed to. The issue is what was done for that cost, which you were not up front about as well as lack of communication from the tech. There was zero benefit ordering the filters and paying the cost to have your company come out, and I really wish you were clear to us what that $200 charge entailed. Thanks read more

After requesting multiple quotes and products from local companies in the North OC area, we settled on Crystal Clear Water. Not only were we happy with the overall price (which wasn't the most expensive or cheapest of all companies quoted), but we were also happy with the water softener system (Clack) and ability to install an outdoor 110V outlet, run piping to backyard discreetly, and place a drain line approximately 25ft away below some pavers to where our main drain is located. Tony came out in person to quote us a price. I was very clear about not having lots of "add-ons" other companies added to the initial price. I wanted the "total price out the door" and itemized list. I was provided this option and even paid 100% cash to sweeten the pot. Cash is still King for large project work being done on a house with contractors and companies. Quote was done on a Wednesday, installers came out 0800 the next Monday. Right on time, installation was seamless, and everything looked very clean after installation. Lifted pavers were placed back properly, holes in brick wall were sealed up, concrete pad for system on side of house was level, and cover for the control panel was perfect. The pipes were copper, but my wife had me paint them the color of the house to blend in. I personally like the copper pipes, but with time they will discolor. After the initial regenerating of the water softener (approx 90-minutes), we had soft water. It would take approximately 2-days for our very hard water to become completely soft. We verified this by using the test strips provided by Tony and his company. We checked every 12-hours and it eventually became 0-GPG after 48-hours. The kids immediately noticed the initial "slimy" feel of the water during their bedtime showers, but they liked it. The main reason for our purchase was for longevity of our appliances (dishwasher, clothes washer, refrigerator, water heater, toilets, faucets, shower heads, sinks) and general health for our skin with the extreme hard water in northern Orange County. We are not disappointed after nearly a week of use. We use 50% less soap, clothes feel softer, skin soft, silky hair, less water spots in dishwasher. Eventually the pipes in the house will wash away lime skim after 9-12 months of constant use. I'm happy with this purchase and recommend anyone who can spend $3-$5K on water softener system for their house. These systems will last decades with proper maintenance. We purchased the Water Softener with Carbon for extra filter and understand the need to replace the carbon every 5-10 years and replace the resin every 15-20 years (time varies on use), but the benefits far outweigh the costs if you plan on staying in your home for a long time. I will be recommend Crystal Clear Water for their services. The plumber who came out to fix a clog right installation (previous clog from night before installation) even complimented the system and said "this looks better than our installation of water softener systems. This company did it right!" With the soft water, I also hope to have less plumbing clogs in our cast iron pipes. read more

Don't get me wrong the work is good and clean however I have a few issues. 1) I got charged $150 for work that wasn't completed. The rest of the team used my existing outlet. Original quote was to create another outlet closer to the tank but they didn't do that. No problem, that line item on the work order could've been easily missed. I contacted crystal clear water and got refunded $145. Zelle doesn't charge 3% but that's fine keep the $5? The line item is $150 regardless. 2) The team left the boxes for ME to recycle which is just lazy. They could've asked me for permission. I already don't have room to recycle since I moved in a few days ago. Anyways they left the brine tank box and the RO box with extra tube trimming behind. 3) They scratched my brand new concrete driveway (spent a good amount on this) only for them to drag the brine tank loaded with salt.
