We started with the Classic Grizzly Knot (small) and it was delicious - perfect for two people to share. We then shared one of the special Detroit - Style Pizza. I would say ~8 focaccia style pizza (that reheated wonderfully the next day). It was a special - so I think it was a spicy sausage w/ hot honey? We had hoped for a nice evening on the large patio, but a sudden storm doused those plans. Inside seating was nice, lots of big screens with sports and fun bar vibe. Our server was great, suggesting that if we ordered an appetizer, one Detroit style pizza would be plenty. And she was right. We had the best cheese curds I've had south of the Wisconsin border. Light breading and excellent taste. I chose the Mt Massive craft brewed IPA and it was very good. Not too fruity or hazy, a solid IPA worthy of a second round. We got the Chi-Town Detroit-style (a lot of Great Lakes attitude there) and it was wonderful! Sauce had great flavor, but the focaccia bread crust was outstanding. Light and buttery, not like a heavy deep dish crust. So good! Highly recommend. Desserts looked awesome, but we were too stuffed. Ike and Oak is the perfect local brewery spot! Great patio in the summer, spacious interior with a nice bar. We've been several times and have come to discover that it's a solid place for a burger and beer. But the REAL star for us is the Detroit style pizza. Soft thick crust with crispy cheesy edges and awesome toppings- our fave is the vegetable pizza and this is a SHOCK because my husband is a meat and potatoes guy but this pizza is just so flavorful and good! Also a great kids menu, our boy downs the Mac n cheese (and we get a few nibbles as well- we can't help it it's delish)! Met a relative here for lunch. Had the Vienna lager- excellent! Also had the Monkey nut which was a peanut butter Porter also quite tasty. Served up by Kurt who actually seemed to care and talked to us a bit and did a nice job lining us up with beers and lunch . The live music was the best part tonight! He as very good: Bobby Knutek. He sang a lot of old 70-80s favorites. We had the Mango Bear-I-Cane $11. Cocktail and it was a bit watery. The bread pudding was very dry so we had to order a 2nd scoop of ice cream which they charged $3 for so the total was $13. It was busy, but her approach was short and not friendly. Yes, they had a craft thing that added traffic, but that doesn't mean falter on new people showing up. Bad impression The beer, it was ok. 7-8 bucks for a 12 oz pour not a pint. Fine. But nothing was exciting or new. Walked in at 6:30 on a Saturday to a 20 min wait but not a big deal, expected longer since it was pretty crowded. Grabbed a quick drink at the bar & husband was excited about the enticing beer list. He liked most of the ones he tried & would go back for a repeat of them. Ambiance was cozy & they even changed one of the tvs for us on request so we could see our favorite hockey team playing. Food was as ordered & came out hot & fairly quick for how busy it was. Service was good but we did have to flag him down once or twice. Great guy though, just busy night for him. TAPPER Get a pint or get a whole flight of beer at this solid brewery and restaurant in Woodridge. The Seven Bridges complex off of Route 53 features a myriad of spots to eat at, including a Bdubs, Lima Fresca (taco + tequila bar), Legends (a sports bar), and a sushi place. Ike & Oak is among them as another dependable option for food & drink. Beer-wise, I can recommend the Gold Hill (Kölsch), Broken Carabiner (green tea ale), Mount Massive (imperial IPA), and Ol' Trigger (American amber ale). I'm not big on porters or stouts, but they've got several of those as well. Pints average $6-7 and beer flights (6, 5oz pours) are roughly $13. Their cheese curds ($11) are excellent and come with spicy ranch. The 'lollipop' corn dogs (6 for $14) are a fun appetizer served with beer mustard and smoky ketchup. The skillet jalapeno cornbread ($15) with cinnamon butter was a nice change-of-pace. The soft pretzel comes in two sizes: a jumbo 'grizzly knot' ($7) and super-jumbo 'bear knot' ($14), both of which are served with beer cheese sauce and sweet heat mustard. This is perfect for sharing and pairs up wonderfully with any of their house brews. Ike & Oak offers thin crust Neapolitan-style pizzas as well as Detroit-style pan pizzas with a burnt cheese crust. I loved the proscuitto & goat cheese pan pizza (grape tomato, arugula, balsamic glaze, $17) and found the breakfast thin crust w/fried eggs tasty too. Although the BBQ burger (1/2lb patty, pub cheese, grilled onions, bbq sauce, pickle, $16) struck me as pretty ordinary, the state fair pork tenderloin ($14) was extraordinary. For $1 extra, you can get it "cyclone style" which means it's tossed in an amazing truffle hot sauce. Do it! In the past, I've also had the pulled pork sandwich ($13) and the 'Yardbird' buffalo chicken sandwich ($16) which were very good. Their fries are just OK, however, not the best around. My friend swears by their cast iron skillet mac 'n cheese ($14). Bread = 4.5 Circuses = 4 Last time I was here with my buddy, Eva R took great care of us. On other visits, the service has been spotty (or we've been forgotten about), though that's not usually the case. The atmosphere is lively and it can get fairly loud, especially on Fridays, weekends, and trivia nights. * TL;DR * Apart from a few hiccups in service, I've generally had great experiences here. Ike & Oak is good for groups or meeting a friend, but it's a bit too noisy for date night. They have nice variety on the menu and rotate their beer taps to keep things fresh. Lots of 4-seat loose tables and chairs and lots of hard surfaces bouncing noise around making it difficult to have a convo at a normal voice level. Lots of TVs to catch your favorite team though. The order, a couple of personal pizzas and nachos, not complicated, took some time to come out but once arrived, was an appetizing presentation. The server was bubbly and appropriately attentive. The focaccia-based "pizzas" were very nicely prepared, not overdone, and packed with sumptuous layers of flavor. Prices are somewhat on the high side--expect to drop 20 bucks on a personal sized pizza but the portion is ample due to the thickness of the bread so you are getting a lot of dough for your dough. Just got home from a quick dinner and once again the service was the win! Our bartender was the best. My husband had a pizza and loved every bite. Mine was not as good as before but I ate what I could and opted to add fries since I didn't plan on finishing it. After the fries came out he noticed I didn't eat my original dish and immediately picked up on the problem and took the dish to talk to whomever needed to know. (I'm not trashing the dish because it's normally awesome, must have been an off night). The Cajun fries always rock so I was happy. The pizza was some of the worst food I've had at a sit-down restaurant in recent memory. Ambience - warm enough. High tops are the devil but the chairs weren't the most uncomfortable I've sat in. Beer - solid. I had a lager and while my mind wasn't blown, it was good. Could have been colder. Service - okay? Our server was attentive but we were brought an additional appetizer we didn't order, then had it added to our bill. Food - Woof, where to begin. I ordered a Detroit-style pizza with chicken. The sauce tasted like tomato puree with no seasonings. The chicken was horrendous - that unmistakeable fresh-out-of-a-bag pre-cooked wateriness and mealy texture. The dough was fine, aside from a weird crispy finish on the sides which was clearly baked on after the focaccia itself was, which is very strange. The cherry on top? It was barely lukewarm. My friend's, which I tried, was almost identically bad and unseasoned. The pizzas had clearly been made some time earlier and not even heated to order, which is wild. ETA: I saw another review speculating that they're serving frozen pizzas, and it hit me. The type of "crispy edge" on these absolutely reminds me of frozen Detroit-style pizzas I've had where the ""edge"" was clearly added in the way you add fake grill marks to ""grilled"" frozen chicken. Not saying that's what was happening here, but if nothing else, the fact that it reminded me so strongly of it says it all. The bar snacks were pretty good, though the cheese curds were super greasy - there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the dish. Meant to put this review in from two weeks ago but got busy with work (forgot). We weren't hungry but wanted to go somewhere for a few drink to enjoy the beautiful weather and glad we decided on here. I've been coming here pretty consistently over the past few years and the food and service was always on point. Couldn't decide on beers so naturally the flight was the answer. Numbers 6-12 had a lot more different unique flavors, fruit notes, green tea, and others. If your there in a date, I'd go with the full flight but keep in mind the 6-12 ones are a bit higher in alcohol content. Ordered some food to go with the drinks to snack on and the pizza never disappoint. Get the mushroom pizza if funguses are your thing and you won't be disappointed. All of their pizza is the perfect sharing size. Brussel sprouts is always cooked to perfection and the toasted pine nuts adds another layer of flavor. Don't forget to drizzle the sauce! Truffle fries are usually a gimmick that isn't anything special but this place does it right. Let's just first say the fries are cooked perfectly and is mostly a perfect crunchy on the outside and a little soft on the inside. (Like the ones you try to fish out from your order of fries from anywhere). Server was friendly and great at reading the customers, didn't keep checking in for no reason but stop by when they saw the drinks were going down. If you want to just have a nice casual night out with some great food and service while sampling different freshly brewed seasonal beers. Go there. This time my hubby and I ordered their Cobb Salad and it was off 5 stars! It was a good size, had all the elements of a great Cobb salad and the dressing was perfect. I'd come back just for that! I do have to say that our server wasn't great. She spent too much time chatting with the guy behind the bar while she had people obviously waiting for service. She was not a warm person... I went to Ike and Oak for a late brunch today with a friend and once again everything was excellent. My friend got the classic margarita pizza and I tried something new with the Yellowstone and both were great! The Yellowstone had scrambled eggs, bacon and a Parmesan cheese spread that was original and delicious. The pig wings were great, somehow crispy on the outside, slightly spicy yummy sauce glaze.
