Your Neighbors is a long time favorite for locals to hang out and watch games or any sports. A place that looks like it's been here quite awhile. They're cash only. Certainly it's not a classy looking place like so many of these trendy bars around here seem to be. It's located in a pretty unassuming part of a strip mall. The inside is bigger than it looks from outside. Has enough room for big crowds. The bar is in the middle, with more than enough tables. It's about $8 for a basic cocktail. The food isn't anything special. It's about $10 for Pretzel Bites. We couldn't find much else that appealed to us. A lot of the menu is the typical fried crap. There's also wings if wanting greasy and meaty. Has a pretty casual and greasy feeling about it. It's located in Hobson West Plaza. This place is exactly as advertised. Well it's not really advertised. Totally under the radar. Most of my friends don't know it's there. But I was extremely pleased when we walked in. It's a colorful, lively, warm, welcoming... neighborhood bar serving food pub food with no hipster pretense, and no bougie uncharge. This is my home away from home. It was for my dad so it is mine now. I grew up going to this bar drinking kitty cocktails and having the perch dinner on Friday nights with my family. The atmosphere has stayed the same so I always knew what I was walking into. They make a awesome burger (that meat is divine) and great fish sandwich. But it's not all this that makes it the place to go to. The bartenders and owner Jonas are the best people I met in a very long time. My dad passed away but he loved this bar. I'm beginning to feel like we actually are neighbors with "Your Neighbors" and I don't hate it. My son is in the NICU at Edward down the road, so my husband and I spend about 6-10 hours a day up at the hospital. Many days, Neighbors has been our saving grace for a quick dinner or a MUCH needed night cap. My parents took us here to eat when I was younger, but then I kind of forgot about it in my adult years until recently. I love a good neighborhood bar and this place is no exception. It's definitely a no-frills kind of bar, but that's part of its charm. There are plenty of TVs if you're looking to catch a game. They have your regular domestic beers on tap but also offer some local crafts like Two Brothers. I don't suggest ordering wine here if you have a mature pallet, because their options are basically a white or red. Beer is where it's at, although they of course have a full bar if you fancy a cocktail. The menu offers your typical bar food items along with some heartier entrees. I've heard their burgers are really good (meat is from Casey's), but I haven't tried one yet. I currently have to be on a low-fat diet unfortunately so much of the menu is off limits, but I can say that their chicken sandwiches are very good! I've had both a regular chicken sandwich and one with the Cajun rub. It comes with chips and coleslaw, although I believe you do have options to switch that up. My husband really enjoyed the patty melt and soup of the day. Service was friendly and what you would expect from your neighbor. Everyone was very laid back and easy going, so high fives for that! We will definitely be back since we'll pretty much be neighbors with this gem for another 2 months. After then we only live 10 minutes away, so this will be a good option when we want to avoid the downtown Naperville crowd (and prices)! read more

I grew up going here with my family, we were regulars and came pretty much weekly. I always loved it - good food, good people. I actually preferred it over the Lantern at one point! I'm so sad to see this place go so downhill. The owner Jonas and his buddies get drunk, play vulgar music on the jukebox and laugh about it like 12 year old boys, all while customers are trying to enjoy their dinner/drinks. I actually witnessed an incident where Jonas' friend became aggressively drunk and almost started an altercation with a customer who tried to change an inappropriate song he had played on the jukebox. It was extremely disappointing to see Jonas defend his friends vile behavior - and toward his own paying customers, nonetheless. I'm a recent college grad and have been to my fair share of questionable bars, so there's not much that scares me away. But this place has just become downright embarrassing. Old style pub/bar. Probably same customers from the past. I'm 70 and felt like the kid in the place. Quiet and subdued atmosphere. If you did not know it was there you would miss it. Tried their special spaghetti, and sausage sandwich. Both bland and not repeatable. Went back once with friends that took us there 1st time and just as unremarkable as as first time. Came here on a high recommendation from a friend. Had the cheeseburger with cheddar. Burger was definitely premium quality meat. Not much flavor to it though. And the bun was not toasted, so it was actually cold from the cold lettuce & tomato on the burger. Also, ruffles chips and a 2-oz cup of coleslaw seemed a little light on the included sides. Robin is one of the kindest and best servers I have ever met, and Jonas does wonders with the food and both of them are absolute sweethearts. If you want to go to a bar in Naperville that feels nothing like a bar in Naperville, filled with real, down to earth people, look no further. There's delicious food, delicious drinks, and all at an affordable price. If you want something reminiscent of Cheers, come on down. Great brats, chili, reubens and patty melts. Sewage smell from dumping kitchen sinks, attempt to cover up with bleach. At least the last 20 years 3. Day bartender, tall brunette, spends about 15 % of her time standing in front of cash register on her cell 'phone. Waited over 5 minutes for her to notice empty glass placed near rail 4. And finally, charges $7.50 for a cheap small pour of wine...the brand served is about $6.00 / bottle. The Pinot Grigio is literally undrinkable! So much has changed. CASH only (but ATM available inside). Was greeted by George - the "bar" dog. Dog was walking around the bar/restaurant and was also seen behind the bar. Friend refused to eat there. Started it is a health code violation to have a full kitchen and animals on site. Used to have great craft beer selection - now only 1 or 2. Place had a musty sewage smell. Bathroom was disgusting and dirty. Used to like this place - has gone hill fast! read more

But the best is the atmosphere! Breathable, now that Illinois has a no smoking restaurant law, but even when it was a smoke filled experience, I still loved going to Neighbor's. Why? It's a nostalgic old timey sports bar/hang. They recognize you here, even if they don't know your name. There are TVs all around, so your favorite team is playing (or they'll make sure it is). They wear Blackhawks sweaters when appropriate, and it's the best place to watch a game. Now they even have a selection of craft beers but I hope they don't get too fancy in here. This small, little neighborhood bar is the perfect hole-in-the-wall. It's a great little gem tucked into a strip mall located between the DMV and Garden Fresh Market. Upon walking in, you can tell these people take their drinking seriously, as the bar is stocked to the brim and they have televisions to view sports. I went there on July 6 around 7:30 PM. There were nachos grande for $9.75. This seemed a bit big. The waitress said "you can get a half order". Now I didn't expect it to cost exactly half as there is overhead, so I asked "What will it cost, like $5.50 or $6.00?". The waitress said "yes". Then when I got the bill (it was all I ordered) it was $8.50. When I asked about it, the waitress said "we are only taking $1.50 off". Similar things have happened to me like this before.
