0 stars for David and Md auto. This is an old review that i did not want to write. Since my problem that he fixed persists i decided to post. My wifes vehicle did not pass s smog test. 2 error codes came up. Md repaired my issue but the next day the engine light came on. Went back to MD and David was nice and told me that one of the coils failed. He replaced free. So far so good. A few months later same issue. Go back to David. Coils are bad no longer under warranty. Its gonna be another $300 plus. I leave the car. Later in the late evening we drive by and our car is in the parking lot. David told me they would bring it inside. We took our car. Now here is the crazy part. They do not call the next day to tell us our car is missing. I call to tell him i am going in to get my keys and he asks if i took my car. I found out later that his coil changing was a treatment of the symptoms not the root cause. The lack of care is astounding read more

I was getting an oil change right there at the Valvoline (also fantastic guys worth checking out), and they noticed my car was making noises and recommended MD automotive literally down the plaza. I met with David the next day and was immediately greeted with his warm and he ruined interest in fixing my problem. I dropped off the car and not even an hour later on the freeway to work when he called me telling me what the problem was, how much and that it'll be fixed the same day. It's not often I can say good things about an auto repair shop, but this is an easy review to write. A friend referred me to MD Auto Repair saying that They are skillful, honest, & reasonable...he did not mislead! Dave spoke with my wife on the phone about a break job & air conditioner service. He quoted her $300 and a 2 hr job, which I thought seemed cheap & quick. I brought our 2007 Honda Odyssey in at 8:30am on Monday. David was friendly and completed an inspection at no charge. His air conditioning service cost under $100, and he found our breaks did NOT need replacing, with 50% life left in the pads. The inspection, service, & added oil change were completed in under 2 hrs! I highly recommend this shop. read more

I had work done on my car about 9 months ago here and paid about $590 for my fuel pump and labor and some other things and my check engine light came on recently I needed to get my car smoked when I went they told me I wouldn't pass because the light was on, I called David explained to him the situation he told me no problem bring the car in I'll check it out! I took it within a few hours he called me told me the problem and gave me a great deal to fix it, the next day picked up my car and it was as good as new! He took care of my needs fast and didn't try and cheat me ever! Two days later I passed my smog I took in my other car my armada to have my brakes fixed and again great service great price he really worked with me since I always give him my trust he even found a problem I didn't know I had and fixed that before it turned into a bigger problem!! David is amazing! Found him through Yelp and we could not be happier. He and his team are so helpful, honest, great prices, quick to assist, and always let you know exactly what is going on with your vehicle. My husband has a 2007 F150, and no other mechanic would touch it for a service due to the way the spark plugs were designed. Apparently the poor design causes them to break off inside, which just causes more time and frustration. David explained all of this to us, and performed the maintenance with no complaints!! If you don't mind them putting your door into their metal lift and scratching the paint off then I guess your ok going here. When confronting Dave about this he said to me "this is impossible" as I stood their watching him do this. Had my 2016 Chevy Tahoe Serviced by MD Automotive today. I found the Shop on yelp. I called and spoke to Mike regarding a quote. I made an appointment and dropped the vehicle off. The Shop was clean and very well equipped. I left my keys and returned when Mike called. The service was performed as promised with zero problems. I would highly advise people to try MD Automotive. Brought 1989 e430 Mercedes because engine light was on. He called me yesterday stating that the diagnosis was a it was some vacuum leaks and, he hoped that was it. I got a call today that the car was done and it was only the vacuum leaks. I am so glad that they did not try to pile on other items to make extra money. I have used them in the past and that is why came back again they did a great job before so if you are looking for an honest mechanic for your vehicle, I recommend this mechanic shop because of their honesty and integrity. I am just astonished that either Mike or Dave can sleep at night! I think this is a major matter for the Better Business Bureau; My girlfriend took in her Mitsubishi Monday 1/6/13 and was charged for replacing her alternator with a refurbished alternator. I found after she got home that under the hood was still the original dirty alternator wiped with a shop rag that had already been in the car since 2004. Even the serial #'s match... I had removed the alternator the day before and had it tested at Auto Zone and found that it was in perfect shape. The only thing I wanted was to have these M & D guys find the fault between the alternator and the battery; Possible OBD problems, cables, battery post wiring harness replacement, and fuse weakness... We agreed that she take it in to have the alternator connections checked for problems with the wiring from the alternator to the battery and to have them fix whatever fuse or wiring problems to the battery that may exist. They insisted that she needs a new alternator and since I was at work, they took advantage of her since she needed the car to get to her work while I was away at my work. Now she is out $175.00 dollars for an alternator that was never installed in the first place. she paid upwards of $375.00 for the entire job. This is not acceptable! This is coming from a highly experienced machinist and mechanic. These guys ripped us off! These guys are something else for taking advantage of a 65 year old lady! read more

Thank you MB automotive for your honesty and fast service for repairing my car. I was in and out in less than 30 min. It was Tuesday the 28th white Hyundai Sonata that I've had since 2010 and never broke down. I live in Las Vegas and was bringing my father back to LA. We made a quick pit stop at the Chevron gas station got something to eat and the vehicle would not start. Called for a tow A-1 towing and they were there in 10 minutes got towed to MB automotive. He did a diagnostic test checked my battery turns out I had a short from a rear parking lot bulb I was trying to fix before our trip that I could not remove because it was fused stuck. It turns out it caused a short and blew one of my fuses. He replaced the fuse and fixed my rear parking lot brake light and we were on our way. Thank you so much MB automotive. read more

good honest mechanic. been coming here for a few years. he has saved me lots of money by giving me alternative cost-effective solutions to problems that Toyota dealer wanted to charge me thousands to fix. here's a quick example: 1) check engine light goes on 2) i have dealer check it out, they tell me i have to replace my Catalytic Converters - $1500 a peice....needed both replaced. second opinion: 1) David (MD Automotive owner) says "let me check it out" 2) confirms check engine code but says "i have seen this kind of thing before, lets replace the sensor and see if the problem is resolved ". 3) "if its the Catalytic Converters , we will go ahead and replace those", of course it was a cheaper installation. final outcome: replacing the $200 sensors resolved the issue, many thousands of miles later i am still happily driving with my original Catalytic Converters. saved thousands on this job alone, there are other repairs where i saved money and i am grateful for his work. read more

If you are looking for an honest reliable shop to service or repair you car where you won't be gouged or sold goods and service you don't need give this shop a try. David, the owner, is on site and very helpful in determining what work you actually NEED, and steering you in the most cost effective direction. I have found their rates to be fair and much less expensive than a dealership would charge for similar services. I am a retired heavy duty equipment mechanic and admittedly not to versed on cars and such but I can tell when someone knows their stuff, David does. I have been doing business with this shop for many years, and I highly recommend them. Heck, if they worked on motorcycles I would let them work on my Harley, and that say a lot. LOL read more

I would highly recommend MD Automotive to anyone looking for a good, honest mechanic who states simply what needs to be done and then quotes a fair and competitive price that it actually what you will be charged when work is completed! My family and I have had both our Toyota Tundra and Subaru WRX worked on at this shop and been very pleased with the outcome. Also, would not hesitate to take our Volvos over there as well and will in the future. I even called MD with some questions after being stranded in Arizona last week (Tundra lost a sensor), and they were extremely helpful in letting me know exactly what I should be charged for labor/ parts. By the way, do NOT ever let your vehicle be towed to a Triple-A repair shop in another state; they will try to rip you off on all charges and then blame their own software system! After talking to the gentleman at MD, I knew to pull the truck out of this crooked facility and have it moved elsewhere, which I did, thankfully... Take any vehicle to MD Auto Shop for a simple oil-change or something more complicated and without a doubt, you will be pleased with the service and prices! read more
