Great service at Mike's Automotive & Tire for a trustworthy oil change and tire alignment.

Was refered by a close friend about this place to take my car for repairs. He takes his cars here and the guys know him. My driver side headlight kept flickering off whenever its on and i would have to keep switching them on which is dangerous driving at night and also illegal driving with only 1 headlight! was recommended by Dave and Mike the shop owner to buy the part off Amazon and have them install them. They gave me recommendations on what headlight to get. Luckily i found a pack of 2 bulbs for cheap. This was on Thursday. Since I have Amazon Prime. Got the part the next day, Friday and brought the car in, Saturday morning to install. Took a few hours but got done. They also mentioned to me that if it goes out again, definitely something else, there are other components to the headlight but did notice the flickering stopped after install so the bulbs only could be the fix, let's hope. Well.....so far so good! Lights come on and I also notice they're brighter too! After a few days driving at night, no issues! Highly recommend this place! Thankyou Mike and Dave for ur work and honesty of what needed to be done. Honest work, nothing shady! Labor cost was fair for the quality and time put in to replace the bulbs which I knew wasn't gonna be an easy fix seeing it's a chevy bolt and the front bumper would had to be removed. read more

This was our second visit here, but my third time dropping by as I picked up a vehicle for someone who referred me here. Mike is a caring, honest, thorough, and very knowledgeable guy! Also David at the front desk is really nice! Great customer service here!!! I appreciate the 10% discount for checking into Yelp. We had oil change and air filter replacement, both done on the first visit. The cost was approx $105, and Mike mentioned coming back in 1,000 miles to check the car as it was burning the cap suggested oil way too quickly. Today, I had to take the car back as it was the check engine light that came on late last night. I like how Mike checks the code while I was there and also checked the previous oil issue. He was trying to determine if the check engine was related to the oil issue, and it was not. I appreciated Mike taking the car in right away. The issue this time was the car needing spark plugs removed and replaced. Mike also fully explained why this particular model car needed a fuel injection cleaning service. This was basically a mini tune-up, so to speak. This visit was more costly, but much needed at approx $400. However, it was a much better value than other places I have had previously on this car and my other current car. Thank you Mike and David for your professionalism and great communication. This auto shop LIES about what's wrong with your car and charges the most they can for repairs. I took my vehicle into their shop and they claimed I needed a new turbo charger....$3200!!! Took it to two other mechanics and they both said I needed to put premium gas in my car instead of midgrade...have had ZERO issues since. They also broke my husband's console screen and tried to blame it on a tow truck driver and the sun. Charged us multiple high cost repairs prior that I believe now we didn't probably need most of. Just came into mount and balance some new tires i purchased on Offer up. After shopping around for prices this was comparable to shops in my area but the Yelp reviews helped me make my ultimate decision to come here. Took about 90 mins on a weekday but they were busy. My Lexus drives great after the work and no pulling or uneven driving which tells me they balanced these correctly. I will be back when rotation is needed. I love this place sooo much! I can't even remember when I first started going here but it's been years. As a female it's a toss up whether a shop will try and take advantage of you. I never felt that way here. I bring all my cars here. Family owned and it's such a great experience. They are up front and straight forward. I'm here now waiting for them to open. First clue when you go in they have you sign a waiver stating that if you do not have them do the work its $88, and if you want them to call you or just do the repairs. I was referred to them and almost had them just do the repairs, thank goodness I didn't. I needed a thermostat, check the brakes and dome light repair. I was called a few hours later and told the repair was $832 and that I needed a new radiator and hoses. They stated the radiator was rusted and that it had two holes in it and it was shooting out water. When I arrived a man came out and showed me the " hole" and was very annoyed, he said the dome light just needed a bulb. And that the back dome lights were cut and never worked. I tried to explain that my husband probably removed the bulb and never replaced it, which he replied "Sweetheart those never worked". In the end I took the car to A-1 Radiator they pressure tested it and guess what, no holes there was rust which they flushed, I didn't need the hoses changed. They installed a thermostat all at the whopping cost of under $90.00. read more

Don't normally write reviews but I have to for this one. My car was smoking out of control and i didn't know what to do so my dad told me to pull over and it just so happens that i pulled into Mikes Automotive. These guys were the sweetest. My dad went in to go buy a hose from them but instead, they came out and replaced it themselves even though they were closing. They spent about an hour helping us get the car to cool down. So thank you to Mike and his crew, I really appreciate all that you guys did! I would recommend this place! read more

This is my first Yelp review. I was inspired to write it based on the poor review provided by the previous reviewer. I've been going to Mike's for well over 15 years. I originally came across the shop through the list of AAA approved shops since his facility was located on 8th St in Montclair at the time and I had just moved out to CA and didn't know where to go for anything. He did great work. I continued to go to his shop for all my repairs and tune-ups, both at his old 8th St facility and the new one that they are in now on 11th St in Upland. I've never felt ripped off. Mike has always gone out of his way for me. If I ever had a problem I was almost always able to bring my car right in. When someone rear ended my car, for instance, I called and asked if I could swing by and have him check it out. Not only did he spend time checking it out but I wasn't charged a thing for his time. He has always gone the "proverbial" extra mile for me. I've sent 3 different people to him over the years and none of them has ever had a complaint. He was able to fix an issue on my friend's Maxima that even the dealership wasn't able to figure out. I don't want to say "ignore" the other review, because that would be disrespectful to their opinion and their review reflects their particular experience. My experience with the shop has been VASTLY different and reflects doing business with them for a lot longer time, rather than just a 1 shot occurrence. read more
