The labor guide (verified in our own automotive software) shows 0.6 labor hours for this repair. Even at a $180/hour labor rate, this would equal approximately $108 in labor. Another local repair shop completed the same repair the same day for $200 total. We were told the system showed 2.6 labor hours, which does not align with standard labor time for replacing an upper radiator hose. As a rental company, we rely on fair and transparent pricing. This experience was disappointing and caused unnecessary stress for our customer, who had to drive an overheating vehicle to another shop. Asked for a patch up, they removed the tire and proceeded to tell me because of how the screw was angled in the tire they can't even patch it up and tried to sell me a $300 tire as that was "my only option". My husband took my car in to our usual tire shop the following day where they were able to remove the screw without a patch even being needed because no damage was done. This review concerns a customer service issue at Firestone in Montclair, California. I brought my vehicle in today for routine service: an oil change, tire rotation, and a basic inspection. As this is a fleet vehicle, I understood and expected some waiting time for approval and service completion. The day prior, I called to schedule an appointment. A male employee answered and stated there were no appointments available that day but availability for the following day. He then said he was assisting another customer and placed me on hold. After several minutes, the automated system restarted the call, someone answered, and the call was immediately disconnected. Hung up! I called back right away and reached a different employee, who successfully scheduled my appointment for the next day. Upon arrival, everything initially went smoothly. The same service advisor who had assisted me at a previously occasion informed me that service would take approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours pending fleet approval, which I found reasonable. I have been a customer at this location for over 10 years for both personal and fleet vehicles, so I am familiar with the process. While waiting nearby, I received a call approximately one hour after drop-off. The caller was the same employee who had previously placed me on hold the day before. He informed me that approval had just been received and that my vehicle would be ready "end of day." When I questioned this, as the service was only an oil change, his response was dismissive and repeated, "End of day is 6 p.m." I explained that I could not wait five hours and that I had scheduled an appointment. His response was, "The appointment just gets you in." When I stated I would come retrieve my vehicle, he replied, "Come get it then," and abruptly hung up the call. When I arrived at the store, I recognized the employee by his voice. His appearance is a (notably a patch of hair under his lower lip). While I waited in line, another employee assisted a different customer before calling me forward. When I explained I was there to retrieve my keys, he apologized and stated someone should have advised me the service would take another 2 to 2 1/2 hours. I clarified that the other service advisor (deep voice and hair patch) had told me "end of day." This second employee was polite, professional, and clearly surprised. He apologized and said he would address the communication issue internally. I briefly explained the prior phone interaction, which I felt was relevant given the repeated behavior and lack of professionalism displayed by the other employee. Overall, I have consistently had positive experiences at this Firestone location, which is why I have remained a customer for over a decade and have recommended it to others. However, based on my experience today--and noting that similar concerns appear in recent reviews--this incident highlights how individual employees can significantly impact customer trust and satisfaction. terrible experience at this location, I came in for my scheduled appointment at 3:30 for my tire. Alignment. I did not receive truck till after 6 o'clock. When I drove of the steering wheel would not stay straight and the alignment was totally off pushing out to the right. I made a U-turn back to the shop to notify them about the issue. One of the Firestone associates went on a quick test drive for me to understand the issue I was talking about. they throw my truck back on alignment rack to supposedly fix the alignment. They're conclusion was that the tire rotation was done incorrectly after according to tech. I leave for the third time and drive the truck on the highway and it does the same thing. therefore I will be return tomorrow to get vehicle fixed and talk to the store manager about a refund and also let them know the about the risks they put there customers on the road for not doing their jobs correctly. read more

Terrible customer service from "STORE MANAGER" SHAWN. I called him after work to confirm an appointment I had. He answered my call and right off the bat WENT OFF YELLING at me for not answering his earlier phone calls?!?! He stated he needed to speak to me and that i was ignoring him. Told him I apologize but I was at work and did call back twice during my lunch and they did not pick up. Christmas Eve I was on my way into LA, having to turn around and drive to Arizona after I made a delivery downtown. Around 1PM I had noticed one of my tires significantly lost air due to a screw puncture. Luckily all I needed was a patch job, however the two places I went to before Firestone (America's Tire and Costco) both told me to pound sand and wouldn't even recommend a place that could help me. I called Firestone and spoke to a team member. He was very professional, and told me to come by and talk to Nolan. Nolan and his team patched the tire and refilled it in 20 minutes. It ended up being an hour ordeal because I didn't go to Firestone first. Won't make that mistake again. I took my daughter's car in for an oil change the other. It's a 2013 Honda Accord with only 34,000 miles. Prior to taking it in everything else checked out fine. First of all the oil change itself was going to cost about $80. I have been going to Firestone Upland for over five years and have never paid that much for an oil change. The Upland location was booked and I didn't have time to wait so I had no choice but to leave the vehicle here. I called the Upland location and asked them about the $80 for an oil change. Upland told me that they could drop it down at least $15 so I called the place back and asked about the price. They said the price was the price. They called me later on saying I needed a new air filter, something else, and that there was a nail in a tire in an unrepairable area so I would need to purchase a new tire. At this point I felt like they were being shady so I told them to just do the oil change and leave it at that. I ended up taking the car to the honda dealership and surprise surprise they were able to repair the tire without having to replace it. Not taking my car here again. read more

The white gentleman that works in the front is pretty nice and helpfull but i think his works are not very good or responsible. Me and my wife took our 2011 Nissan Rogue for a basic check up and paid their $10 special price. We wanted to check and find out why there was grinding in the front brakes . At the very end we were told that they didn't find any grinding and they gave us a print out of the basics that they thought it needed. Upon driving our SUV 2 hrs away to our destination. We found out when we got there that the radiator was completely empty and over heating and I was very concerned because I never had this problem before. Im upset because they did not notify us nor add water or anti freeze to the radiator and the Suv engine could of been completely ruined.And we still hear the grinding Noise. That they Did not hear or see when they were test driving the vehicle. Also Now our horn. Is not working and a few other Things don't sound good on the vehicle its making a raddling sound like things where left loose or something. Not good. Very disappointed in the service. Took my car in with an appointment for a tire patch. Told me it would take an hour. Two hours later and they told me that they couldn't patch it. I assumed it was all done when they called me. Don't understand why it took them 2 hours to simply take a 5 second look at the nail and tell me it was not repairable. Had they just told me up front when I handed over the car maybe I would have bought the replacement with them but god knows how long I would have had to wait for them to put it on. I've been a customer for decades. I just want to say this location went from meh! to omg really!!! I'll leave a better review after I calm myself to refrain from insulting their workers. Just know...It should NEVER take 3 alignments to get a good alignment! But in my case, it took 4 and I had to go to a different location. But then...then they screwed up my trunk and acted like I was a problem when I asked them to fix it. Thank God the Upland Store gave me a whole 15mins of their time and fixed my problem. I will NOT EVER be going back to the Montclair store again with my Sequoia again. Unless they get the proper trained helped they need and learn how to treat a customer that has had to return several times for the same problem and then again return because they messed up my trunk latch. PLEASE DO NOT CHOOSE THIS FIRESTONE LOCATION. I was charged for an alignment several months ago but the work was never done. I provided proof from the dealership to the firestone manager and was refunded. I came back last week for an oil change and left with my engine shield hanging from my car and scraping on the freeway. A previous mechanic elsewhere told me whoever had done my last oil change stripped the screw that held the skid plate up and zip tied it. I was in the Montclair area looking to buy my daughter a used car. It was a Sunday and dealerships weren't open to do an inspection on the car. This FireStone shop took about 2-hrs of a wait. They put the car up on a lift for about 30 to 40 minutes, took all the tires off the car, and "appeared" to be inspecting the car. They told me it needed couple of tires, new wiper blades, and a new alternator belt, about $500 in work. Guy that rang up up said "It's nothing that would stop me from buying the car". Based on that statement and their inspection paperwork, I bought the car that day thinking I had a solid car for my daughter. I get home and start noticing water drips and oil stains in my driveway. I called a dealer who was finally able to look at the car about a week later. Dealer checked the car out and told me it had an oil leak, radiator leak, and differential mount will need to be fixed also. Parts and labor will cost me about $ 3155.00. So I called FireStone Headquarters and a lady took my report and said "someone will call me within 48-hrs",.... but no one did and I doubt they will ever call. Do yourself a favor and stay away from any FireStone shop. They don't know what they're doing and their mistake is going to cost me almost $3200.00. In a nutshell, these guys charged me ~$200 to replace my rear brake pads but they DID NOT actually replace them. And when I challenged them on it months later, the manager called me a liar. My wife and I had been bringing our cars there for probably the last five years. And now never again... I went in on 5/27/19 to have my oil changed and to have my brakes looked at. My brakes were making a strange rubbing sound. When they inspected it, they said I needed new rear brakes and rotors. I went ahead with the recommended repairs but the noise did not go away when I braked. I drove the ready of the year like this with the sounds continually getting worse. I began to question their integrity when I brought my wife's car, I think on 1/12/2020. They told me that her car needed new air and cabin filters, even though I personally replaced them in December. So when I needed my brakes repaired, I took my car to Brake Masters in Pomona on Mission Blvd on 1/19/2020 (a very positive experience and my car no longer makes noises when I brake). I was shocked however when the guys at Brake Masters told me that I needed new front and REAR BRAKES. I said I had just had them replaced ~6 months prior, but the Brake Masters guys said that was not possible based on the condition of the brakes. I had only driven 12,000 miles since when Firestone ALLEGEDLY replaced my rear pads. The Brake Masters guys saved the pads for me and I took them into Firestone today (1/19/2020). I explained my story to the manager at Firestone (younger man, did not get his name unfortunately) and I handed him the pads. He proceeded to tell me that it's fairly normal to had pads wear down this quickly, even though I had never experienced anything like this in any vehicle I've owned. When he questioned why I didn't bring the car back to Firestone I told him that I question their ethics and integrity. He then told me that people "do this all the time when the want to get money," insinuating that I'm lying and looking for a handout. I expressed that I want my money back for repairs that they did not actually perform. He then said "there is nothing you can say that will make me give you your money back." Insulted, I take my pads and walk out. In a very sarcastic tone the manager says "have a great day." I have now filed a complaint with the Bureau Of Automotive Repair. So I said fine let's do that then. Store states that I had a 9am appointment instead of 1 pm. Due to the poor record keeping and for the complete disregard for the lack of my time, I'll go to Pep Boys as I've never had this issue with them. The people at this Firestone are rockstars!! Especially the store front guy Stephen and his Manager Nolan. I called and explained about a horrible experience I had with the Firestone in North Hollywood. They said to come down and they'll take care of me. And boy were they not lying. Made me an appointment on the spot, their best mechanic performed a full inspection on my truck, rotated my tires, reviewed and explained to me EXACTLY what my truck needs maintenance wise. All this for a minimal to no charge unlike the sleazy guys in Hollywood who charged me 20 bucks and did a very crappy inspection.
