I couldn't be happier with my experience with MDR. I had ordered my medications a week early in case there were any problems with shipping (which I didn't think would actually happen). I am so glad I did because of course FedEx was delayed and had stopped giving me notifications about my order. I called once to follow up with MDR to see what they suggested and they stayed on top of my order to make sure it got here in time. They contacted me with updates and were very reassuring that they would get me what I needed, when I needed it. I only write my true experience to warn others, so hopefully this doesn't happen to you. This pharmacy will NOT tell you ANY INFORMATION about their so called "cut off" time for medication delivery, instead they will call you again morning of same day, all of sudden tell you there WAS a cut off yesterday at 5pm, so if you want your medication today, you HAVE TO pay for the same day delivery fee which is about $200 for a $2xx medication. If they told me this information yesterday, I would've switched pharmacy, but now it's too late. They were well aware that this medication is urgent and I need it today or my pregnant baby will die, yet they still chose to hide this information from the expected mother in order to force her to pay the $200 delivery fee. This is my true experience, if you want this amount of stress and risk of loosing your 1st baby while pregnant, this is for sure the pharmacy to go to. read more

I called when leaving my doctor's office, and they were able to have the prescriptions ready for me in 30 minutes so that I could get them on my way home. Then, they even called me back to give me a heads up about a potentially-confusing parking situation, which was sooo considerate and helpful!! When I placed the order, they were clear to give me the instructions in regards to FEDEX requiring a signature for my order and to pay attention to the tracking time frames, so that I could be home. I just got a phone call from my insurance company and they told me that this pharmacy should have only charged me the contracted rate and not the full price for the medication. They claimed they don't accept my insurance but they are actually in network ! The insurance company and myself reached out to them to get the difference returned to me but they refused !! I cannot say enough good things about the staff at MDR Rx. My husband and I had been shopping around for a good pharmacy that specializes in fertility medication and treatments. MDR was not only the most competitive in pricing, but also the most helpful and professional. Pharmacy care coordinator, Robin, helped me break down the medication one by one, as well as worked with me on finding ways to cut down on overall cost. She followed up with our order, and kept me up to date on any status changes, instructions, etc. Not to mention that she is also very kind and professional. Our order was shipped same-day and came perfectly packaged, with certain medications packed on ice to keep them cool until I got home and was able to put them in my fridge. If I had to do this again, I would go with MDR Rx. Hands down. Luckily, we probably won't have to, if all goes well as planned. Wish us luck! This pharmacy is the worst I have ever been to. Poor communication, terrible customer service (sometimes downright rude), long waits (with no heads up that you might be there for 40-60 minutes) and yes the other reviewer was right that they don't tell you about the discounts (or they forget to apply them like happened to me the other day). An overall really bad customer experience - and I've been there many times. Also, sometimes they do strange things that are super frustrating l like put some of the medication in a trash receptacle they give you to take home and not tell you a word that it is there, until you call to say "did you forget this medication?" First, why would you do that and second, why would you not say anything?! So unprofessional and very bizarre/poor customer service. I am shocked at the good reviews because everyone I know who has gone here has had a bad experience. There was one staff person who was helpful (it may be Joanna referred to in one review). Also the old guy who stands in the back and is maybe the owner, seems very nice, but the other dozens of other pharmacists are the pits and that's who is usually working with customers. Save yourself frustration, stress and a terrible customer experience and go elsewhere. I haven't been personally, but have heard Alta Pharmacy is a better option. read more

If you are going to use this pharmacy I recommend you double and triple check the meds they provide. They delivered my progesterone at half the dilution of my regular dose. Had my husband not compared labels and we'd simply followed my doctor's directions I fear our whole procedure would have been compromised. Our doctor's office was adamant they were clear on the prescription and it was the pharmacy at fault. Previously we have noticed other strange things too. Claims that we would get email notifications and a number that we could use to reach the messenger service for more exact delivery ETAs (never happened ). The pharmacy openly questioning the type and amount of needles my doctor ordered for me, creating doubt and confusion on my end. Then delivering way too many needles (the wrong type again) a few days later . Overall, I recommend this pharmacy try to shore up the communication gaps that seem to exist between themselves, the doctor office, their messenger service and the patient. Next - I recommend instead of asking "When do you want it?" They say some thing like "I see your prescription indicates a start date of ****, how soon would you like it prepared for pick up or delivery?" Also - do NOT openly question your doctor's prescription order to the patient. If the pharmacy has a concern - that should be raised with the doctor's office! And finally - examine the history and file for the patient before carelessly putting an order through and making repeat mistakes. read more

The first time I came here was a swift and pleasant process. The second time, not so much... I received a text that my prescription was ready for pick up (Great!) and upon arriving, waited about 20 minutes to even be addressed (terrible). Mind you, I was the only customer in the store... the staff is very cold and don't provide any info. The pharmacy has no air conditioning (at least on this particular day with it being 90+ degrees outside) which made the long wait intolerable. I was in their office nearly an hour... Non-Covid Compliance. Be advised, MDR Westwood is not enforcing mask wearing among employees. This is problematic on many levels, namely because they serve a community that is either pregnant or undergoing fertility treatment. If you acquire Covid during treatment you risk cancellation of treatment, with zero reimbursement. That's thousands of dollars lost, you health at risk, and the health of those you come into contact with. The ramifications are great. Protect yourself and order from another pharmacy. read more

All the staff has been sooo friendly and helpful especially Cynthia, she is awesome! The pharmacists are also very helpful in informing me about the medications. I usually don't have a good experience with pharmacies. Either it's too long of a wait, I feel ignored, or something goes wrong with the medication and insurance. So far, I have had such a great experience with MDR. From the moment Joanna called me, I felt like she truly cared about getting me the best cost, the right medication, and having it covered through insurance despite my hesitation. She didn't give up on me and took the extra steps to make sure all my concerns were addressed. Pharmacists and techs are nice and professional. Wait time is generally short. The reason for the 1 star is poor customer service as detailed below: - no one in the pharmacy tells you about manufacturer coupons which can save you hundreds of dollars on fertility meds. Isn't that the pharmacy's job? I mean I am a pharmacist so I would know that telling cash paying patients this information is key, especially when you are in the midst of an already expensive process. - when asked to fill out Insurance paperwork for reimbursement, the Care coordinator reported needing proof of receipts- don't you already have proof of the thousands of dollars of purchases I already made?! If no then what exactly do you guys do there during your work hours? - parking is validated but often not completely so that after a $1,000 transaction you exit the lot only to find that you owe $5. Totally unacceptable I came here like most because my doctors office recommended them for specialty meds and there is nothing closer. We patients are vulnerable; we're either sick, or injured, or at the mercy of a science we don't have the training to understand. Which is why I feel especially taken advantage of by MDR Westwood Pharmacy. Not only do they not seem to give a crap about their customers, but they raise ineptitude to a whole new level. I've spent countless hours over the last week trying to fill a prescription for an extensive (and expensive) list of prescription drugs with MDR Westwood for an injection regimen. Inexplicably, my doctor's office had recommended them. First, MDR's cost estimate came back to me with a drug totally missing from the list. I sent over an e-mail to correct this error, and the estimate was updated. But next, I spotted other discrepancies (in quantity) between my doctor's prescription list, and the MDR estimate. When I called MDR (speaking with first "Joanna" and then "Irina"), Joanna condescendingly told me that their estimate did, in fact, match my doctor's prescription; but that if I *personally* wanted to change the quantities, I could do so. I retorted that I was the patient, not the doctor - what the hell do I know about the quantity of drugs I'll need to take?? I repeated that all I was trying to do was reconcile the discrepancy (of which there clearly was one). It took me e-mailing my doctor directly, copying MDR, for the problem to get resolved. As if that weren't frustrating enough, just a few days later, I caught another discrepancy. My doctor's office told me I needed only two drugs the first week, and the others on the list should have been put on hold. When I called MDR (Joanna again) to confirm that they'd only be dispensing those two drugs, I got the same infuriating and condescending response: My doctor's office had told them to dispense the whole list, but if I *personally* only wanted two of the drugs...... I had to restrain myself from hanging up on this woman. After calling my doctor's office again to reconcile this issue, early in the morning on this particular Monday, I sent Joanna of MDR an e-mail (copying my doctor's office) to ensure they'd only be dispensing the initial two drugs. I also requested that she tell me when I could pick up the prescription. The whole day went by with absolutely no response or call from MDR. It wasn't until I e-mailed AGAIN that evening - "When will my prescription be ready?" - that I finally got a response the next day: "It's been ready to pick up since yesterday." No apology, no acknowledgment that this message should have been delivered to me the prior day..... NOTHING. This pharmacy should truly be avoided at all costs. If it were the last pharmacy in the world, I would not go here. AVOID!!!!!!! read more

I was really excited to transfer my FET prescriptions to this pharmacy. I moved across the country and my current pharmacy is over on the East Coast. Living in LA, this isn't so convenient, as the shipping charges are outrageous. I figured that having a pharmacy where I could pickup my meds would be convenient and nice. So I called over there to ask a simple question. It was, "Hi there. I'm calling to speak with someone about transferring my prescriptions from my current pharmacy to you guys. How do I go about doing that?" And here's the conversation that followed: Woman: "You have the pharmacist from your pharmacy call us with your prescriptions. Hold on a second." *Five minute hold* Woman: "MDR Pharmacy." Me: "Hi. I'm the person on hold trying to figure out how to have my prescriptions transferred to you." Woman: "You need to have your pharmacist or doctor fax over your prescriptions. Are you from the doctor's office?" Me: "No, I'm the patient. These are my prescriptions." Woman: "You need to have the doctor fax over your prescription to us." Me: "The pharmacist or the doctor? And fax or call? You've now told me two different people and I don't want to have the wrong person fax information over when they should be calling or vice versa." Woman: "The pharmacist." Me: "So I should have them fax over all of my prescriptions to you guys and someone will call me to setup my account with you since I am not currently a patient of yours?" Woman: "Yes." Needless to say, I'm not going to be transferring over my prescriptions to this pharmacy even though it would be much more convenient and much less expensive for me. I'd rather deal with a pharmacy who takes the time to answer my questions, can provide me information to simple questions without providing multiple answers in the same five minute expanse, and makes me feel comfortable...which this woman from MDR definitely did not. read more

$20 for Vitamin D supplements? Extremely over priced. I got all my IVF medication from this location. My insurance picked up the tab for part of it, but otherwise I paid out of pocket for everything. Normally, I would pay for my medication over the phone, and have it delivered to my address (which is an awesome perk). I always found the people that answered the phone to be helpful and friendly at MDR. Today, I decided to stop by and pay in person; it was a completely different experience. The old gentlemen that works there couldn't hear or understand what I was asking, and it became awkward when I had to keep repeating myself. The office was eerily quite, and the pharmacist was moving people through the line like we were on conveyor belts. I asked her about my Vitamin D supplement, and her response was equally as dry. She kept saying, "it's whatever your doctor recommends". MDR pharmacy does validate in 10 minute increments. It cost $3.75 per 10 mins to park in their parking structure and maxes out at $28. More overpriced nonsense. I paid for my $20 Vitamin D supplements with my AMEX card, and it rubbed me the wrong way that the same dry pharmacist asked for my ID, without asking the lady in front of me that just spent $600 on medication. It was such a weird vibe being in there. Unfortunately MDR has a monopoly on fertility drugs. Pay over the phone, have it delivered to your address and you will never have to deal with the weirdness of going inside their office, or paying a ridiculous amount of money to park your car. read more

Going into MDR is always a pleasant experience. The staff is extremely kind and professional. The pharmacist is one of the kindest people I have ever met. The entire staff really makes you feel like they care about you and your success. When you enter they greet you with a smile and when you leave they wish you a heartfelt good luck. I have never had to wait very long to pick up my medication. On the rare occasion that they haven't received my prescription from my doctors office, they jump right into action by calling my doctor and finding out what I need and immediately filling the order. Going through fertility treatments is no fun and as hard as this process has been for me, filling my prescriptions hasn't added to my stress. MDR made their part as easy as it possibly could be. read more

IVF or fertility patients... PLEASE AVOID! We had a horrible experience with MDR... The IVF process is already stressful... do not make it worse by using MDR. In short, we paid out of pocket and NEVER received the meds... We ordered the usual items for IVF... $3000(+) in medications and they NEVER arrived. We paid out of pocket (all of it!). And the worst part is.... they told us they sent two packages... we never received anything. 3 days later.... still no medications and we missed the timing causing delays in our process. I was impressed by MDR a few weeks ago when one of the staff members called me proactively to let me know that our insurance company hadn't received the authorization forms for our doctor.
