I've been to Me-n-Ed's plenty of times and usually know what to expect. Unfortunately, this visit added a new, very exclusive topping: a bright blue hair baked right into our pizza. At first we thought it was maybe a stray string of something... nope. Definitely hair. Definitely blue. Definitely not on the menu. I let the young lady at the register know, and to her credit, she apologized and offered to remake the pizza. We declined, because once you find hair in your food, the appetite has officially left the building. What was missing was any acknowledgment from the manager. A quick apology or even a partial refund would've gone a long way, but neither happened. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled matters. I'm hoping this was a one-off and that a little more care and accountability is taken going forward. I'd still prefer my future pizzas hair-free and in their original color palette. read more

Is there a worse Me-nEds in the chain? If its not the horrible wait times or the undercooked food, then its the wrong order being delivered. Funny thing is, this never happens when I eat at the Me-n-Eds on Mooney in Visalia. You would think I would learn, but its close to my residence, so I always think I will give it one more chance. My recommendation is to just drive the 5 miles into Visalia and save yourself the headache of poor service and terrible food. read more

Made an online order and the girl was not trying to listen to what I had to say at all and kept cutting me off, and when I go to pick up my order I was missing a whole pizza, and I even called back after I ordered to double check that my order was correct and she insisted she got it right. Staff needs to be retrained to greet customers when walking in and placing orders at the counter. I walked in and up to the counter and the cashier did not greet me and just looked at me. I figured I guess she is ready for my order and I placed it and was not thanked or told how long it would be. Then I found a table and observed that no tables had any napkin dispensers?? Why though? I was at Me n eds in visalia on goshen and they had napkin dispensers and the store was cleaner and I was greeted when walking in. Food arrived and it looked and tasted good. Just the store is dirty and needs some improvements. Especially napkin dispensers. Reason for this review is because I went to Lemoore on Saturday and they were on their A game. Me-N-Ed's Pizza is a long-time fixture here with locations dotted throughout Central San Joaquin Valley for over 60 years. The pizza boxes state that their brick oven pizza is "The Original California Style Pizza." I am confused as to what that means, because anything involving food that has "California" in its name usually involves avocado. I did not see any avocado listed on the menu. I have been a fan of Me-N-Ed's for decades and decided to call in an order for lunch today after finishing my yard work as it is 11:00 am and already 90 degrees. My go to pizza here is Pepperoni, Sausage and Black Olive and today's creation did not disappoint. I love MNE's crispy crust and fresh toppings. Their combo pizza is another favorite of mine. The staff today was very pleasant and polite. COVID-19 precautions are in place. Masks are required for entry, and social distancing is clearly marked on the floor. In-house dining is closed, and the counter areas are guarded with plexiglass barriers. I was impressed that the young man who helped me with my order changed his gloves before gathering the cup, lid, and straw for my Diet Pepsi. I have never had a bad experience at the Tulare Me-N-Ed's location, so I am not exactly sure why there are so many low ratings for this restaurant, but glad that it is not my experience. read more

Usually the pizza is very good... today the bottom was slightly burned so you got that bitter taste. Service was good... they were very nice and served me right away! As for the Ambiance.... The cleanliness had something to be desired! If you look at the counters and and the register they are covered with goop.... Everything is greasy! Not like it had been cleaned well in a long time. Stood behind. A 20 something guy who had his order pre-ordered for pickup at 2, at 1:30. He couldn't figure out his order would not be ready until 2. Felt sorry for the cashier. Stood there for 15 minutes waiting for him to move out of way. Ordered our pizzas and bbq wings. Now let's see how it tastes. Update: 02/13/2020- good pizza, cleaner today and friendly service. Update review 9/19/18 (4 Stars) Much better experience waking in on a Wednesday about 7pm as the place was clean. Most tables had been wiped down and the trash had been removed. That's an improvement over the years I'd been coming here so +1 star to my initial review. The pizza was great even with the slightly over cooked crust on the pineapple one. Almost tasted burnt but would have had it stayed in a few minutes longer. I saw on of the staffs throw food at a peer but it took a young lady to finish with the register, serve Bree and helps customers then she was able to clean tables while here peers threw food and pulled behind the counter. Maybe if that counter was transparent, then, staffs would spread a out handling the overall cleanliness of this potentially fine establishment. If so many reviews tend to enjoy the pizza but don't like a dirty restaurant, then, it's managements responsibility to take note of what the customers want and make change. I love this pizza but the lack of attention to other details still reflects in the lack of managements overall attention to cleanliness. If everyone saying it then it's so. Review the video and don't blame the kiddos for the mess it's the adults at the tables. Let some slip and fall on their floors and and sue the joint and then that will get someone's attention. I have so much to say, I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'll start at the beginning.... PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE REVIEW; My husband and I aren't from Tulare, but happened to be in the area, making a stop at Boot Barn. We were both starting to get hungry and decided we better give into our Me N Ed's craving. What could go wrong ? Me N Ed's is so consistent, no one could mess it up right? As we drove into the parking lot, I realized that yelp popped up on my phone, letting me know the review on this place was a 2.3 stars. As a person who reads most reviews when making purchases or finding places to eat, I did not listen this time. BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART!!!!!!! As we placed our order, I couldn't help but notice how dirty the front counter looked. Surely, the employees see this, right? It was Saturday evening around 4:45 and I was sure the evening crowd would be coming in soon. Why wasn't there a sense of urgency to clean/wipe down areas. Next we filled up our drinks and were shocked at how messy the salad bar was, along with the soda area. It looked like a salad bar train wreck. There are no words except GROSS, GROSS, GROSS! I turned to my husband and said " I know, I have high standards in general, but shouldn't this be concerning to the employees? " Why are there so many employees doing nothing but standing around? My husband starting counting all the employees standing around, it was unbelievable! 11 people who didn't give a damn about representing Me N Ed' s or their self as a employee. I wanted to leave, but I'd already placed and paid for the order. The pizza came and thank God it was consistent in taste. No complaints there. As we ate, we both noticed a family that had finished eating and the table they left behind was a mess. Ok, let's see how long it takes the employees, to take notice of this large table needing to be cleared and cleaned. Well, you probably figured out the answer. 20 minutes later the table was still dirty while several employees stood around talking. In closing, what made this experience worse was the fact that not one employee came by our table after we starting eating, just to ask a simple "How's everything ? or Do you guys need anything else? " I know it's not a full entree meal here, that needs your follow up, but can you at least clean & check on customers as much as you stand around and talk ? Who ever manages this Me N Ed's is either in need of serious retraining themselves, or is completely unaware of the activity or should I say lack of activity when they aren't present. (I really hope the Manager wasn't there and a part of all this) We will not be returning to this location ever! The worst experience save your money and time and go to a different location. We ordered two personal pizzas,wings and a salad and everything was good except the wings and the service. The girl at the counter kept tapping her long nails on the counter while taking my order and very short with her responses to my questions. We walked in after a party of like 15 walked out so it was busy and the store was a mess and I understand they had a rush and I didn't mind the wait for my food,it was about 15 minutes after the pizzas arrived we realized the wings didn't arrive my boyfriend went to go ask and they were just giving him a short answer and looking over our table to see if we got them and if we're lying to get more and then I heard when the shift supervisor told the cashier just give her those,which at thar moment realized those wings were sitting there for a while and when she gave them to me they were cold and I went and told the cashier that I would like my money back and she told the shift supervisor and she was like "ugh" out loud and threw them in the trash mad and I said what they're cold and not my fault they're cold and she came to the register and didn't look me in the eye as I gave her my receipt and I was mad and she snatched it and then threw it back at me while my hand was out waiting for the receipt to be handed to me at this point I told my boyfriend get the money from her im going to sit before something happens. As I started taking pictures, they came out and started cleaning up. I didn't get a picture of the front counter before she cleaned it. I'm almost afraid to eat the food they're making. It's our second time at this Tulare Me N Ed's Last time we visited our daughter we got delivered. It was so awful. I grew up on me n Ed's. The manager reached out, but we are from Pismo so no replacement could take place. No biggie we ended up getting Dominos. Tonight I thought, let's give it another try but dine in. The manager that reached out before was so nice. Nice I have learned doesn't excuse bad food. We had to send our pizza back to get redone. Only half the pizza had cheese and toppings. My grand daughters pizza was a cheese with extra cheese, same story. Only half her personal pan had cheese. I'm so over this location. My husband and I go to Me-N-Ed's in Nipomo and it's always delicious. Beware of eating at Tulare location it's a rip off. Another $40 down the drain. Horrible place to order from. Called in my order and was told it would be 25 minutes. I arrived for pickup at the 25 minute mark and was told my pizza was in the oven. I waited for 20 more minutes and the whole time my pizza's were sitting on the counter getting cold, not even above the oven. When I arrived, I saw the two pizzas and assumed they were mine but was told otherwise. They offered to reheat the pizzas and I watched as the pizzas fell apart putting them in and taking them out of the oven again. If I could give this place less than 1 star, I would. I was visiting family in Tulare, and it was decided to get Food here and my niece ordered it via their website, for delivery. An hour and a half later, we call to find out where our delivery was, and it turns out they "Received" the order for Take out, and it had been sitting there for quite a while, and now was all cold. My niece was upset and asked them why they didn't call us about the order when no one ,"showed up" to pick up the food. I didn't actually hear the answer from them, but my niece replied to them that there was no way she would pay for an $87 order, and just let it sit there. They then told her they could remake it, but they wouldn't be able to give any discounts for the "mix up". So this is one huge strike against them in my book. Well, someone in the family then went after the remade food, and all I can say is they got 2 more Strikes against them from me. The pizzas were over seasoned and spicy, and so for me it was inedible (I first pulled a pepperoni slice off and ate it, and it tasted terrible and spicy to me to start with, and it all went down hill from there). The chicken wings were pathetic in size and their bbq sauce on it was the worst I'd ever eaten...too much season and spicy. The cheezy bread wasn't much better, because it too was a little spicy to me. The only thing I could eat were the potato wedges, because fortunately they were not seasoned or spicy. This meal was a HUGE Letdown. It had been about 2 hours since I ate the few bites I did of the pizza and chicken wings, and felt heartburn from it, which is something I haven't felt in that way for a while. A shout-out to the Tulare Me-n-Ed's staff, we have enjoyed consistently good pizza from them for years. We prefer their pizza over other local brands, we like the bubbly crust, the flavor of the sauce and the freshness of the toppings. Between family and friend visits we probably order pizza here 6-8 times/year and have almost always had consistent service and quality. Tonight I ordered a Garlic Chicken Pizza and got the Cauliflower Crust for the first time. It is thin and more crispy on the edges (not bubbled), similar to a flat bread style, and there was no noticeable cauliflower flavor at all. It's a more plain flavor than the original or thick crust and less salty, but with the garlic, white sauce and toppings it was perfect, and about 50% less carbs than traditional crust which I was happy with. As to their service, we usually do takeout so that we can pick the pizza up as soon as it's ready, and I find the staff to be courteous and as prompt as they can be given that we are usually there on a weekend night and they are typically pretty busy. The last time I had a concern about my pizza I talked to the staff, they got the supervisor or manager, he was kind and efficient and corrected the issue immediately with a new pizza (the toppings had been wrong). Tonight we ordered online and had delivery, it arrived at the projected time, the delivery man was friendly and wore a mask, and the pizza was hot and fresh. Thank you to the Tulare team, 2020 has been a rough year and we are happy you are there for us when we need a pizza night! read more

Called in and ordered a large beef and pepperoni. The ticket even shows it. What we got was a sausage and pepperoni. Husband told them that was not what we ordered and they asked if he wanted it anyway. He told them no we want what we ordered! So they made a new pizza, this one a large beef pizza. Still NOT what we ordered. They gave him both pizzas for the price of the one. Not sure what 2 people are to do with 2 wrong ordered pizza. Not sure if or when we will go back to this location.
