Vibe: 2/5 Service: 3.5/5 Food: 5/5 Value: 5/5 There's always room for ice cream, especially on a hot day. And Meadowlark's sweet treats definitely hit the spot. Personally, I think Meadowlark is one of the best places for soft serve in the entire Bay Area. Feel free to disagree by leaving a comment... The place itself is kinda weird. The inside looks like an abandoned grocery store with their fridges. They should fill some of that empty space with tables and chairs to add more indoor comfort, as there is no seating inside--just an idea. After ordering and paying, the girl didn't really tell us where to wait for our treats and just called the next person in line. We stood there a bit confused and looked around, seeing people coming out with ice cream from an area by the front door. Pointing it out to us would have been nice. As soon as we walked up, a girl came out calling our names and handing over our cones. And just like that, all the awkwardness was forgotten. First of all, we ordered a small, and the portion we received was generous, to say the least. I don't even know what a large would look like?!? Great value for the price. But then the flavor. So good. No artificial taste. My strawberry cone tasted amazing. Even my hubby, who usually doesn't like strawberry, wanted a second taste. He was also happy with his swirl, although he wished they had sprinkles. I'm glad they are expanding and hope they will open closer to San Jose next.
Heard so much of this place from co workers came out to check the soft serve ice cream. Costs range from $3.50, $3.75, $4.00 from small through large. Flavors range from vanilla, chocolate, orange, and pineapple. You can make a "vanilla" swirl as my wife had a pineapple and vanilla. Where I had a chocolate and vanilla. The ice cream is super creamy, so you can tell the source of milk is of good/high quality. The pineapple and vanilla swirl tastes reminiscent of a dole whip ice cream treat from Disneyland or on Oahu dole plantation. Chocolate and vanilla is just a good standard flavor to size up any ice cream place. It was generally busy on a Wednesday summer early evening. Stores huge with clean white (ish) floors and murals on the wall. The line can wrap inside the establishment/out the door but they move super fast. Probably took us 6 minutes from lining up, to pay, to get our ice cream. We took the ice cream outside, as there's no chairs/tables inside, and ate near the plants/curbs. We couldn't see but I assume there's tables on the side. Highly suggest to come here to try a treat. The value is very fairly priced and it feels like a family local business.
After falling in love with the Dublin location earlier this year, we decided to stop by the Livermore location and were not disappointed! This location is definitely a little bit different, considering there is no drive-thru, and you wait in line inside by the groceries. I liked being able to see what grocery options they had and ended up purchasing a $5 loaf of homemade sourdough. The ice cream is just as delicious and affordable! I would definitely love to see a drive-thru option in the future, which I'm guessing is coming since the building is an old bank building with a drive-thru already built in. I'll be back, but I still prefer the Dublin location!
Delicious swirled ice cream in an old fashioned cone. Tastes like childhood but better Cute place. Plenty of shaded patio seating.
Finally got to try out meadowlark dairy and I understand the hype. Truly delicious, creamy, and refreshing soft serve with a great price point and options. Hope they maintain the way they are and I would definitely go back again and recommend.
The Pleasanton location will always be the classic drive thru experience, but since the line is always long there, decided to try this Livermore location. This place was packed too, but you have to park & walk in the place. Parking was a bit limited given the amount of people that were there on a summer weekend. Once you walk in, there's a small convenience foods section, but follow the guided roped area to the cashier. Place your order and continue down the ropes to the pick up section. It was a little confusing at first, hence the one less star rating. But as per usual, the ice cream cone was amazing. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo as my swirl was not up to par with the Pleasanton's locations swirl lol. Still tastey, nonetheless.
Visited on a Friday around 6pm on a holiday weekend. Creamy was pretty busy with a line of about 10 other guest ahead of us. Line moved fairly quickly took 5-10min wait to order. Food: Vanilla soft serve cone - excellent, creamy, milky, sweet with a nice subtle vanilla flavor, got this in a cake cone for some added texture, the small size was about 3.5" swirl on top of the cone so a generous portion Pineapple soft serve - excellent as well, nice balance of sweet and tart taste, smooth creamy texture, good pineapple flavor not artificial tasting, got this swirled with vanilla which made for a great combo Service was good quick order at the register, they then have you walk around to pick up your cone on the way to the exit. Team just calls out your order for pickup. Overall a fun visit to Meadowlark Dairy, super affordable soft serve spot with a solid variety of flavors to choose from. Store front also had some shelf stable pantry items as well as some frozen ice cream, milk and some other perishable that you can pick up while in line before getting to the register. A large outdoor patio was available for seating which was a nice option no indoor seating that we observed.

I wasn't much of a fan for the strawberry, it was a little too sweet for me and tasted more artificial. The chocolate was creamy and not too overpowering. The price is cheap for the amount of ice cream you get. There is plenty of seating outside. No indoor seating. There is a small selection of groceries inside as well. Service is quick and friendly. Ambiance is casual. Parking is street parking and small public parking lots. I would come back again to try different ice cream flavors, milkshakes and floats!

My nephew used to work at the Pleasanton one so we were familiar with the setup. There's a pretty well setup line inside that zig zags so you can stay out of the heat or cold for the most part. You can get a fruit basically sorbet type, or chocolate and or vanilla, simply menu. The Ice cream is good. On this day our order got forgotten so they had to make after 15 minutes or so. All good. Still plan on coming back. Staff is hard working & friendly.
This place needs no introduction. I've been coming here since they opened. Before that, I was going to their Pleasanton location. Special flavors change all the time so follow their Instagram and/or FB to keep up. Everything's good, staff is friendly, plenty of parking, plenty of outdoor seating. A very nice fun family oriented place to visit. This is my first review but probably my 100th visit.
June 2026 I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of their flavors because they tasted very syrup artificial instead of using real fruit puree. The chocolate and vanilla are okay, but if there's a wait, I would skip it. We went on an off day, so there was no line. If I and to wait half an hour, I'd be dissapointed. My friend got their flavored soft seve which I had a sample of and it was way too sugary for me.
New hot spot alert! This wasn't here during my last visit to Livermore and my friend who still lives there told me about it. We met there for a double date and I was IMPRESSED! They rotate their flavors weekly, they're quick and efficient AND the prices are so reasonable! I spent like 7 dollars on a slushy and medium soft serve. Apparently you can swirl or stack any flavors! I went with strawberry and pineapple and I was in heaven! There is no indoor searing but an okay amount outside. Everyone has to try this wonderful establishment
Meadowlark Dairy opened in Bank of the West's location nearly a year ago. The entire building and parking has been repurposed without much changes. Difficult to notice signage on drive by. Saw MILK sign initially but it didn't register. The full name is displayed above the main entrance. Some pics posted on inside brick walls. Shelves of merch in the middle of the main room. Dairy products in refrigerators on left side as one enters. No drive thru. No inside dining. Lots of parking in lot. Ample seating at tables in front and at the side where the drive thru at bank once was. Service was fast, quick & courteous by single male associate present. No lines when I entered. Business slow on a semi-hot day. Got a large chocolate & vanilla combo in a cup (4) per his suggestion as it's the best seller. It was ready in minutes at a stand near the front door. Slushies, milkshakes, sodas also available. Vegan pineapple, orange & strawberry other options. Mint, coconut. Cotton candy, raspberry, & peaches & cream pops up sometimes. Meadowlark no longer has their own farms. Contracts milk from local farmers. Licks : ice cream smooth, melts easily. Had no aftertaste. Tastes natural. Not sugary. Great value. 5 stars all around. Definitely repeatable.
I come here pretty frequently to try all their special flavors. Prices are great and I highly recommend it! For their mainstay flavors, I usually get strawberry while my friends usually get pineapple or chocolate. Tip: Follow their Instagram to keep up with their surprise drops on special flavors. They have two locations (Pleasanton & Livermore). Some special flavors that we've tried: - Bomb Pop: really good! - Watermelon - Pumpkin spice: delicious! So glad we decided to stop by and luckily the line was only a few mins. The soft serve is absolutely the best sweet treat especially on a hot summer day. We had to eat it fast before the heat melted it but 10/10. Must try! read more

I am so happy that Meadowlark is now in Livermore! I frequent the location in Pleasanton since I heard about it and the Livermore location is even more convenient! The building looks like it used to be a bank, with some street parking a and a small parking lot in the back, located in downtown Livermore. The inside still looks sorta empty and unfinished. They are slowly adding some grocery items and merch you can purchase along with your ice cream. My favorite so far has been the orange and vanilla swirl, pretty much taste like an orange creamsicle! They have some seasonal flavors that pop up from time to time. I have tried the eggnog during the holiday season and most recently the white chocolate and coconut and I love the coconut! I wish they would bring that back. Service is always so quick, they hand you your ice creams when when you walk to the back. People here have also been very lovely. read more

We love stopping by Meadowlark whenever we're in the area! Usually we go to the Pleasanton location, but when we found out they had a new location in Livermore we couldn't resist the allure for soft serve! This location in downtown Livermore looks like it used to be an old bank. The inside is clean and inviting though, with a mini market for snacks and frozens. We got a medium Pineapple + Vanilla swirl for that tart creamy combo! The soft serve is the perfect creamy, silky frozen milk texture, and is so addictive! A medium cone for 4$ gets you a swirly pile of soft serve almost half a foot tall, such amazing value that you really can't find anywhere else these days! All the workers are always very nice and cheerful just like at the Pleasanton location. And inside there is a wall mural of playful Meadowlark Dairy marketing and cows to take a pic of your soft serve with! There's also plentiful tables and seating outside, as well as its own parking lot with ample spaces. Overall, an enjoyable experience and we'll definitely be back! read more

First time stopping by at their new Livermore location! I've been a regular at their main location in Pleasanton for a while now but this place is a different vibe! For starters there's no drive thru. You also have a place to sit down outside! The atmosphere is just different but in a good way! The customer service was great and quick as always with the high schoolers they have working. The ice cream and slushies were a 10/10 as well. The price at meadowlark is really the star of the show! 5 items for 17 dollars! You can't beat that, especially these days. read more
My wife and I stopped by Meadowlark Dairy for dessert after grabbing dinner nearby. Although all the outdoor seating was occupied when we entered, there was plenty of seating available once we had gotten our order. Between the two of us, we shared a small cup of their orange vanilla swirl. For the price, you really get a lot for your money. I've seen ice cream places elsewhere in the Bay Area charging double for their small size. After my first bite, I was immediately reminded of my childhood of eating grocery store creamsicle bars. The soft serve here was super rich and had the perfect creamy consistency to it. The orange flavor was very pronounced and didn't have an artificial taste to it. The soft serve as a whole wasn't overly sweet either. Overall, I'm really impressed with the soft serve at Meadowlark Dairy. Staff was friendly, service was fast, and the soft serve itself was quite tasty. I would definitely stop by again. read more

We came here July 4th weekend, so of course I chose their red (cherry), white (vanilla) and blue (blueberry) special. I excitedly waited at the pick-up counter, but then when I was handed my ice cream order.. it wasn't what I had in mind. Haha. You'll just have to look at the picture I took. I was expecting the usual flawless perfect tall swirl. Nope, not it. But the flavors were still as expected and made up for it. This new Livermore location is very spacious with plenty of seating and parking outside. read more
We had been to the location in Pleasanton and enjoyed it. We were in Livermore for other reasons but I already knew next time I was in Livermore I was coming to check this new location out! It is in an old bank building. No tables inside. Refrigerators with some groceries and simple counter for ordering after which you will pick up your treats at another counter. Employees were happy and friendly. There are some tables outside. My husband got strawberry, he loved it. I ordered strawberry, pineapple, vanilla and orange!! All delicious! To my surprise that day vanilla was my favorite! Parking is easy. Out the door for 8 dollars. A simple 5 star ice cream experience. What's not to love? read more
Woahhhh these prices! Respect for meadowlark for keeping it budget for all families! A happy day out for kids and adults! Who doesn't like soft serve Over the weekend The line was confusing because the pickup line was soo much longer than the ordering line. It looked like one line to begin with so people would get in the wrong line. Then other patrons would tell them to move to the other line and it was confusion all around Simple menu! Basics plus seasonal flavors! Tried the peaches and cream, was very subtle, wish it had more peach flavor stronger. Will try more next time Pints for $6! Amazing! read more
This ice cream place is so cute. You can buy food and drinks here, not just their ice cream. What's nice is that their fruit flavors are lactose free so my boyfriend can enjoy. He got the strawberry. My son had the rootbeer slushy which is kinda like a rootbeer float. I had the pineapple and vanilla mix, in a cone and cup. It was delicious! There's tables and chairs outside. The building is very unique. read more
5/5 stars for having the best soft serve ice cream made here and they got more than 5 fruit flavors to choose from. There is no drive-thru to pick up the tall soft serve ice cream at this place. It is a walk-in ice cream shop and the place is in a previous bank owner building and the price of the ice cream is more expensive by $1.50 than the other drive-thru soft serve ice cream store location. read more
Very clean, colorful decoration inside the shop. Staff were very friendly. Tried the special on the month, Story Coffee. Very delicious (well, only if you like coffee flavored ice cream) They don't have drive-thru service here at this location. Which is fine but just so you know if you happen to stop by this shop. read more

Such a lovely location, I have always been to the Pleasanton location, this was my first time here. Loved the interior: so well lit and Great Wall decor. I also really liked how well stocked the fridges are. Love the root beer float and the Story Coffee soft serve. Service was quick and friendly. Will come again. read more

This was the worse experience ever! while i was eating the pina colada ice cream i got in a cup, i realized i had chunks of white "material" maybe or even just gross chunks. i didnt realize when i was eating my soft serve ice cream i kept chewing on a certain material. i am absolutely angry about this, i want a refund asap. overall the staff was kind and a clean and nice. read more
The best value for the price out of any soft serve ice cream spot! Truly it's so simple and delicious, this is a must try if you're in the area or even driving by, the service is always fast, friendly, and the ambiance is very cute and chill (no pin intended). read more
FINALLY!!! ive been meaning to go here for 15+ years and I can say it surpassed my HIGH expectations!! the storefront is super cute and made the ordering easy. the inside is spacious but not seating. there's only limited outside seating and limited parking so be prepared. all their flavors are amazing and the amount you get for the price is unbeatable! read more

Have you really visited east bay if you didn't go to Meadowlark? This is one of the newer locations of Meadowlark Dairy with the first one being in downtown Pleasanton. Definitely a win for downtown Livermore and am soooo glad I got to stop by! This location has an actual inside where they also sell merch and other dairy products. Really spacious and can fit the crowd you typically expect at Pleasanton. Lots of seating outside and no drive through this time. You also order inside. Got my classic pineapple and vanilla swirl! Delicious as always -- creamy and not overly sweet. No sour notes from the pineapple. I like how Meadowlark has the classic flavors, but allow you to switch it up with their seasonal flavors or the swirl options. I will be coming back here no matter the season... read more
I am used to frequenting the Pleasanton drive-thru location, so I felt very odd walking...into...Meadowlark? The entire left wall is occupied by fridge space for dairy of all types, and some fridges were empty so I'm curious what they'll have. The entire right wall is reserved for a mural which I'm excited to see once finished! They also had merch available for purchase right before you reach the cashier. After ordering, you walk to the right back to the entrance/exit to grab your ice cream. Speedy service as usual! I was so full from lunch so I got a kid's size, even though it was the same price as a small ($3.50). They are famously generous for their portions, and I still stand by the kid size because I would not have been able to eat more lol. There were a lot of tables outside, and their downtown location is prime for walking around with your ice cream. Congrats on your grand opening! read more
I LOVE the Dairy in Pleasanton and when I found out there was a brand new Livermore location, I was stoked! I finally swung by yesterday after lunch. I ordered a small vanilla and pineapple cone. This combo is the best in my opinion! The price is super affordable too! Inside there's some merch for purchase and groceries to buy as well! I ended up leaving with one of their shirts. We have never understood what all the fuss is about. We've tried the Pleasanton location twice and thought we'd give it another try now that they have a location in downtown Livermore. The place was packed. The flavors are basic with seasonal or rotating specials of one soft serve and one milkshake flavor. I wanted a milkshake. Unfortunately, unlike the waffle cone option there was no sign on the menu saying that it was unavailable. I was so disappointed after waiting in line and getting to the cashier who told me they weren't available. I opted not to get anything. I finally made it to the Meadowlark location in Livermore after being a regular at the original Pleasanton spot for so long. I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious the interior is, and the inclusion of a cute convenience store with two gender-neutral bathrooms is a great touch. You can grab $6 pints, clothing merch, and even frozen dinners while you're there. You are greeted with a smile by the staff. Went on a Thursday afternoon and the worker told us we came after a big rush. There was no wait/line! As for the soft serve, the vanilla is the absolute definition of a classic, though the strawberry offers a nice tartness and the chocolate is solid too.
