I understand it's hot and everyone is tired from the long day. I'm thankful that we made the cut before the line was cut off, but that doesn't negate from the terrible customer service. I gave a $5 tip, understanding that it was probably a long shift. The cashier had an AirPod in his ear while taking orders. He got my partner's name wrong, so when they were calling us, we weren't paying much mind. When they got our attention and directed us to our completed order, the gentleman passing out the orders pushed our cups towards us like we did something wrong. We said thank you, but nobody looked up. I was super close to going back to the register to ask for my tip back. Just because it was a long shift doesn't mean you treat your customers like that, especially ones who understand and are trying to help in this small way. If you need to cut off the line, you may want to consider doing it 15-20min prior to close, especially when the line is out the door on a hot day. The dessert was honestly great, and we'd definitely come back for more. However, we won't be coming back to this location. read more

The staff were very efficient with the preparation, our orders did not take more than 7 minutes to make. Loved how toppings were free! I had Oreo crumbs, cereal, and macaron on mine! Though Somisomi do not have a wide range of choices on the menu, this shop makes the cutest ice cream! The walls in the interior were the cutest with decorations on the walls where our ice creams could pose for a picture. However, what cost them a star was that the place could use some furniture. Came here after our lunch. Somisomi is always a good idea! There were people inside and coming in and out. We were lucky and did not have to wait in line. We usually always come here for ice cream, but we went for their taiyaki only this time. We ordered their 5 pack deal and tried some new flavors - Oreo, cheddar, and black sesame. The staff at this location are always extremely efficient and handle busy crowds all while still being extremely friendly and helpful to each customer. This location is very clean and has a large enough space to wait for your order even during a rush. The soft serve here is very delicious and creamy and comes with several topping options. Ordering is fairly quick with their simplistic menu. Their best items are the soft serve, which is super smooth and creamy. You can order it in a cup, taiyaki, or float. There are about 5-6 base flavors and some mixed flavors (swirls) depending on the season. The cookies and cream flavor is on point! You can also order taiyakis with a flavor inside of them too. What's also nice is the toppings are complimentary - no additional fee! Service is friendly and relatively quick. The lines can look long, but it moves. Parking is readily available in the lot, not a concern at all. There's also no trash can inside so you'll need to dispose your trash outside. It makes sense why this spot is still around after covid, but it would be nice if they brought back the sample cups so customers can test out the flavors before purchasing and truly enjoying their dessert to the fullest. You also get a few topping options to bedazzle your little cold snack. The soft serve flavors are unique (sweet corn, milk tea, ube, matcha) and some of the combinations are very complementary. The place is small so if you're coming with a larger party, consider finding another spot (perhaps the food court across the mall) as it gets pretty packed during peak times after lunch or dinner. There aren't any seats but they do have a table meant for folks to stand and use to eat their treats. They also have a clean bathroom that is accessible should you decide to dine in and stick around. Fortunately, the staff do a great job churning the orders out and are patient to support each customer's customizations. Because of its proximity to the shopping outlets, the parking lot can get quite busy but it's typically pretty accessible (in comparison to the nightmarish lot of the outlets across the street). Overall, every SomiSomi has been really consistent and this one is no exception. The quality of food and service is great and sets the standard for shops selling similar treats.
