It was our first time in and the interior took us by surprise. It was very pretty, feels like a fancy restaurant but there's a few details like the cups that have chips of paint missing that tell you otherwise. Otherwise the space is clean and the set up is nice. Our waiter was nice enough, but didn't really do anything besides take our order and bring out a couple of dishes when the food was ready. There were pitchers of water on every table so its pretty self service for water. The food is pretty good. Really enjoyed the tikka masla and the dish is definitely enough to feed 2 ppl with the rice and naan bread. There was also a bakery next door that I stopped to check out and the little desserts looked so good! I would be interested in going back to try other items from their menu, especially with it being so big of a menu, however I will note that when you leave there is a particular smell of curry or spices that hang on to you. It might just be a me thing but I dont enjoy smelling like food after I eat and the smell of curry sticks to my hair, clothes, even my handbag. Overpriced meals served in piecemeal to a 3 top, appetizers served well after one entre is nearly finished while the other two meals are still likely being staged? Is that to your liking? This is the newest Halal meat shop in the Pflugerville area. At this point in time of this writing, they're still getting things together. However, they are open for business and they do serve fresh cut Halal chicken and goat meat only. There is no beef or pork sold here. This meat shop is located in a strip center where you'll see Mama Bros name over half the center. Mama Bros is the anchor Indian restaurant in the center and is apparently affiliated with this location. There are some other items to choose from along the wall, but the place is fairly sparse with no seating. Unfortunately, the woman behind the counter spoke no English, just Spanish. We had our first experience at Mama Bor's recently and it was very good, so we decided to celebrate a special occasion there with a group of 12. While the table was set up nicely and the reservation was handled well, the experience with the food and service unfortunately fell short. We ordered Gobi Manchurian (medium spice), but it came out extremely spicy. For the Lotus Stem appetizer, we requested one spicy and two medium, but all three had the same spice level. The main course was even more disappointing. The naan was overly salty to the point we couldn't eat it. Even after mentioning it, the rest of the naan still came out the same way. The beetroot kofta was just okay, while the Bombay Paneer Butter Masala and Karaikudi Paneer were not good. On top of that, the entrées were served in a messy, staggered way--curries and naan didn't come out together, and I had to ask multiple times for naan to be brought to the table. The place was clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant ambiance--definitely a step up compared to many other Indian restaurants in town. The menu was quite extensive, offering a good variety of traditional and fusion dishes. We appreciated seeing some new and interesting items that aren't typically available elsewhere. The appetizers were a highlight--everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. The soya chaap, in particular, stood out with its texture and seasoning; it was easily one of the best dishes of the night. For the main course, we tried the beet kofta. While it sounded promising and was presented nicely, the taste was just average--not something we'd order again. We also ordered a kids' portion of vegetable Hakka noodles, which surprisingly turned out to be quite spicy despite being from the kids' menu. It might be worth the kitchen considering a milder version for younger palates. That said, the adults at the table actually enjoyed it, so the flavor profile was still solid--just not kid-friendly. When it came to drinks, we were intrigued by the creative cocktail menu. Unfortunately, the server assisting us seemed unfamiliar with the drinks and couldn't explain the ingredients or make recommendations. Ambience: It's nice, however a little dark. A little bit more proper lighting should help. The tables are wobbly, but utensils and everything is clean. It's a casual restaurant, that looks a little fancy. I rate the ambience for the price as 3 stars. Some things that was weird was the curries came with no serving spoon, the appetiser came with a tiny fork. Apart from these misses service was 4 star. Food: We ordered Chef's special, lotus stem appetiser and it was just top notch. It was gobi manchurian made with lotus stem. I highly recommend that. For drinks we had Aam Panna and Jaljeera Mohito. Aam Panna was a mango slushy and not aam panna, Jaljeera Mohito needed a little sugar to balance it out. For the price mocktails are like 2 star, a little disappointing. In main course we had Bombay Paneer butter masala and Dal Makhni. Both were good, like 4 stars. Breads however a different story, Garlic naan was perfect, Mint Parantha was naan with mint on it, Gobi Kulcha was kameeri naan with gobi on it and Masala roti was made of same dough and was the worst one. First time here and I was pleasantly surprised by this place over all. Tucked in a small strip center with lots of parking outside. They also have meat market and banquet hall next to the restaurant. Upon entering I was surprised by the ambiance. Looked like some club or something with pitch black walls. Bar seemed pretty good too. Mama Bros was an interesting place and had been a place we wanted to try. The food was solid but as a vegetarian, there are not nearly as many options for mains as there are for non vegetarian guests. We enjoyed the jalapeño poppers and i enjoyed the Kathi roll but for the price of the veg thali, my husband felt it was very lacking. There were no vegetables to be seen on a veg thali, only rasam, daal and eggplant kuzhambu. The service was good but I wish they had paper menus and the ambiance is quite nice. So far, I've been here twice--once during their opening week and once fairly recently. I'm rounding my 3.5 to a 4 star because I feel like they've improved a good amount. During their opening week, i wasn't super impressed. The offerings seemed pricier than the norm and the service was a bit awkward...hovering around in a manner that felt just a tad imposing on the patrons. The entrance of the restaurant is a bit awkward too, where the dining room is concealed behind giant rustic doors, and the hosts will actually open the doors for you in a very grand fashion--it feels a little silly to me for a casual meal. One other thing to note, they use a lot of chrome metal dishware, and it is very obvious when some of the dishes aren't washed super thoroughly, as you can see a good amount of fingerprints and marks on the plates. The menu is large and mildly overwhelming. As far as food goes, it's decent nothing too special. If you get a biryani or rice dish, they do load up on the rice. I didn't like the sambar idli that I got during my first visit, but the chicken kadai was pretty good. Spicy! For anyone who isn't familiar, idli is an Indian fermented rice cake commonly eaten for breakfast. The way it is here is reminiscent of a dense cornbread with a gritty texture, but I wasn't sure what to expect, and now I know I'm not a fan haha. read more

Got some food from the take out side and it's easily to get overwhelmed because there's a lot of options. The lady taking my order was kind to offer some suggestions when I mentioned looking at some non-veg curries. I ended up with gongura chicken masala which was exactly like she described it tangy and has a nice spice. I got it spicy and it was great! She mentioned it'd be a bit of a wait but honestly didn't mind since that meant they were making it as soon as I ordered. Definitely an experience. We went as a group for lunch. It's an interesting space with almost a red carpet entry. The restaurant is stunning inside and you will feel like you are in Vegas. I had a dosa and others on the table ordered curries and tandoori's. The dosa stayed nice and crispy with very tasty sauces. The curries were generous and came with rice. The tandoori was extravagant and served in interesting dishware. The breads looked good too. Service was fine but it took awhile for everyone to get their dish with the dosas first, followed by the curries, and lastly the tandoori. You also get nice finger bowls to wash your hands when the meal is over. The only thing was the music at least for lunch was kind of dramatic wedding music which was interesting. The take out side has the food in the cases for you to select to purchase. For the dine in side, it was very nice setup, they have a "holding room" if you will, while you wait for your table. I only tried this place because I saw it on an Instagram influencer. And I'm disappointed after today's dinner. We ordered beetroot kofta, garlic naan and butter tandoori roti. First of all, just look at the price, it doesn't make sense when all the nearby competitors have 30% lower price atleast on breads. The so called beetroot curry only has beetroot shreads on the top of serving bowl. And that's where the disappointment started. Both naan and tandoori roti were ok, but I've had better at other nearby restaurants, which are just 5-15 mins of distance. Price for naan there is 3.99 vs this place has 5.99. I've already provided the feedback to server and onsite manager, they were trying to provide excuse but agreed with us after seeing the remaining kofta in my plate. My honest advice to restaurant owner would be that instead of putting money in getting a reel generated by Instagram influencer, put real focus on food and collecting feedback. read more

I was skeptical of this spot I'll admit, but I finally got around to trying it and I'll be damned if it doesn't give my favorite spot in all of Austin Sangam Chettinad a run for their money. Aesthetically on the inside it seems a little odd being severed the way it is between dine-in and take out, but I ordered their medium chicken korma to go and my lord it's one of the best I've ever had. I love indian cuisine and have had it a lot, and maybe I'm not as strong as I thought I was, but their medium feels more like a hot (my mouth is still sizzling as I write this) but it's one of those oddly addictive spice/flavor combos that make you want to keep pushing through despite the heat. This curry quality is top tier; bites of the soft seeds of the various spices they use and a really nice salty/garlicky base with some very tender bone-in chicken. They take the time to explain what each dish is and more. And lastly, the food is the star. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but it makes up for the quality. From the chicken and mutton, I have had a better experience here than other Indian restaurants in the area. The Neitha Kori is a favorite and must buy every time you are here, the goat paaya(goat leg soup) was a bit pricey but definitely helped my cold. And lastly, the goat Haleem was divinie. Just got off the phone with the owner after he responded to my review. Let me give you a rundown of events as they occurred on my end. 1) I red the response. 2) I scroll through to read many other responses. Including one from the owner "lol"ing at a complaint. 3) I call the restaurant. 4) I am escalated. I am clearly upset in my tone. I ask to speak to the owner. She tells me he is offsite. I ask to speak to the manager. She tells me he is "very far in the back," and if he can call me back. Now escalated, I respond by narrating my story, interspersing frequently that I am not upset with her. I said it three times throughout the conversation. However, I do not think that excuses my tone. (I called her back now to apologize, and she said we're good). 5) Owner calls me back. I started by addressing the review that I left. 6) He confuses my review with another negative one and accuses me of lying. 7) I ask him if he wants me to read the review aloud (because he was citing things I hadn't written). He replies, "No- I can read." 8) a long back and forth (really us just talking over each other for 10 min). He stresses that he will stand up for his employees. Very commendable. Especially in a service industry. 9) He takes issue with the fact that I wrote a review as opposed to talking to him. He doesn't let me finish more than one sentence. To be fair, I didn't let him finish either. 10) He misconstrued what I say next when I say, "I went to your restaurant a month before with the same issue." And he accuses me of writing a review one month later. I clarify that the first time I went, I had the same issue that I had 5 days ago, which prompted me to write a review. 11) He laments the state of the restaurant world and asks me to understand that he has to open many more restaurants and this is a veteran-owned business. Thank you for your military service. Not so much thank you for the restaurant service. 12) He tells me he would have known if someone was rude bc he would check the cameras. I describe the facial expression she made. I angrily also rant about how expressions seemingly normal in India can often be construed as rude in other parts of the world. I also advise that I was not asking for anyone to be terminated or disciplined, but I simply wanted validation that it occurred and the attempt for it not to happen again. 13)Since I teach belligerent high schoolers, I put on my teacher voice and I model how to take accountability. He accused me of berating the girl on the phone. I apologize and say that I genuinely feel terrible that I made her feel bad. I offer to call her later and personally apologize (which I have already done. She told me now that she didn't complain that I was berating her but that she simply informed him that I was upset). I take responsibility for the way I made her feel. When I'm finished, I say, "Your turn." 14) I don't remember the exact words he said, but he begrudgingly apologizes, but not for any of the complaints I actually had. (Honestly this guy could run for the presidency with the way he dodges accountability). 15) Realizing I will not be seeing improvement, I tell him goodbye and that I will not be returning. I mentioned that I would talk badly about him at any Indian event I went to, but let's be real- no one's talking about Mama Bro's. I'm prepared for him to respond and invalidate my experience, but such is the way. It seems the owner doesn't want people to leave reviews. I've been there three times, and he treats me like I haven't given them a chance. Great Food, Poor Service I first visited this restaurant in December on my South Indian friend's recommendation and loved the pressure cooker pilaf. So, I decided to celebrate my birthday here in February--unfortunately, the service was disappointing. 1) The night before, we called to ask if we could bring a cake. They said yes, but when we arrived, the host refused. Own your mistakes--if staff gives incorrect info, honor it or at least offer a paid option like other restaurants. 2) I received multiple flower bouquets and asked for vases. Three hours later, they never arrived. 3) The bill already included a tip, but no one mentioned it, so I tipped twice and only realized later. The food is truly delicious, and the pilaf is the best I've had at an Indian restaurant. But if you want to be seen as a high-status establishment, a beautiful interior and staff uniforms aren't enough--you need to provide high-quality service. I'm assuming the Togo and restaurant and the same owners since they have the same name. Both times I have had issues with the service. First time we went to check out the togo place and walked in it was small with only a few items left in the display case. We waited the lady so we can ask questions. She walked back and forth to the back but we still waited. She came back out but was on the phone during this time 2 other people came in and when she hung up the phone she started talking to the other people that came in after us!! She also gave them chai and they were laughing ok maybe they know each other. I said excuse me can I order, than she came over without a word and just stared at us. I asked what was in the pastry's like what type of meat, it was like she didn't understand me, however my friend was just pointing at the what she wanted and the lady just started putting things in a box. We paid and left with no verbal communication at all. A few weeks later we noticed the restaurant had a few people going in and out so we decided to have dinner. We came in and had no reservations but still was settled right away. We were given a menu but was told the full menu is online. I saw the pot pilaf in a posting and wanted to try it. I ordered the mutton and was told 20 minutes which I agreed. We also ordered the Kori chicken and garlic naan and bullet naan. The chicken came out first very quickly in fact that's was good about half way we asked a different waitress if the naan can come out too to eat with the chicken we were told we didn't have any naan on order. She went ahead and ordered it. After 30 minutes the rice pot came out and we had to wait another 5 minutes to cool. As you can see we were excited so I recorded. To my disappointment it was chicken not mutton! I was told I could wait another 20 minutes for it which means they would be closed or to try their mutton pulao. The 2nd waitress was helping us a lot more than our actual waitress who stood by the bar the whole time. 1 star for the food tasting pretty good and 1 star for the 2 nd waitress helping us to correct the mistakes of the other waitress. My family and I visited this restaurant back in May 2025. We were a party of 9 people. First of all, the food was very good. However, the service was not the greatest. We were seated in the next banquet room, away from the other customers. I found this strange considered that we made reservations for 9 people. My gut feeling said we were intentionally segregated from the other customers in the main dining area. Second, the service was below average. We were served room temperature bottled water. No ice was provided until we requested it. And then we provided Styrofoam cups to place our drinks inside. Yet on the website I see drinking glasses on the tables. I cannot comment on the pricing since my son-in-law paid for our meal. So in summary, the location was good, the food was excellent, yet the customer service was below average. read more

Mama Bros Restaurant was fantastic! Delicious food, amazing service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

The service was great and the food was good as well. I would definitely recommend going! The inside is alittle strange but they obviously put effort into decorating it. They have lots of vegetarian options and a great dessert selection. read more
