We have been using meaningful care for ten years and have had very few issues in that time. They are experienced and reliable.

It's hard to believe but we literally spent thousands of dollars with them for what ultimately was half a day of mediocre care. We're reporting them to the BBB and will look into other ways to hold this company accountable for gross incompetence and financially abusing families who hired them to help manage the care of their loved one, only to be met with severe incompetence on providing basic professionalism. This company charged hundreds of dollars and hour for Anne's "support" while she lacked basic competence. They ultimately charged us thousands of dollars to "vet" caregivers. They supposedly spent dozens of billing hours "researching", "vetting" and "training" caregivers only to come up empty handed with either no available caregivers or caregivers that didn't meet the basic requirements we asked for. The caregivers that did actually show up up were totally clueless to our needs. Their inadequacy was glaring. Anne and the company should be ashamed of themselves. Save your family the time, frustration, anger and money. Hire someone else.

It quickly became obvious that I was going to need full-time in-home care for her during my absence. That evening, I made a phone call to Visiting Angels of Livermore. They offered to provide a full no-commitment assessment, and I accepted. The next day, Mr. Keith Beck, Executive Director, came to my home and evaluated Mom's situation and needs. Mr. Beck was on-time, professional, organized and efficient. Following the assessment, we were introduced to a recommended caregiver who, assuming my approval, would be responsible for Mom. She was professional, very conversational with Mom and an experienced caregiver. By the end of the appointments, I was confident that Mom would have good, comforting care while I was gone. I was extremely impressed that Visiting Angels responded so quickly, and was also able to provide and dedicate quality staff in a timely manner. I continued the caregiving services on a part-time basis after I returned home as Mom was still not quite stable. Another caregiver was introduced and assigned. After a couple of weeks of continued part-time care, Mom became much better and I was comfortable with stopping the services. I highly recommend Visiting Angels of Livermore. All of my experiences (and my Mom's) were positive. It is a very well managed business with a reliable, kind, and supportive team: owner, office staff, and caregivers. Thanks to Visiting Angels I was able to enjoy my vacation. I will definitely use them again when and if the need arises. If you are considering in-home care for a loved one, Visiting Angels of Livermore is it. An excellent Yelp score....5 Stars all the way!

David helped manage the entire process with matching us up with the perfect care giver for grandma and let me tell you, grandma did not make it easy. Grandma was raised to be tough as nails and was an absolute spitfire. Which of course would cause friction with most care givers. The professionalism of the staff from Livhome is second to none. They focused only on helping my grandmother and finding ways that they could find common ground with her to gain her trust and respect. David also did a phenomenal job at not just trying one or two matches for my grandmother. He listened to our asks in what grandma was looking for in a caregiver and worked his butt off until he found the perfect caregiver that matched all of my grandma's requirements and jived with her personality. LivHome goes above and beyond in terms of quality of service and quality of care. That's correct, "As good as it gets." Eldercare Services has…read morebeen providing home care for my 91 year old "cantankerous", otherwise known as hard-headed, mother for 9 months and what a great help they've been. Being responsible for mom's well-being, she's diagnosed with dementia, I'm her legal conservator, is a challenge. I'm anything but an expert in geriatric care. I've learned a lot from the Care Givers and Care Manager. They provide the "heavy lifting" for working with my mom and I'm able to relax and enjoy my time with her. The Care Givers are AWESOME. They are women who care, care and continue to care about mom. They are my eyes and ears so I learn what's going on with mom from them. They take mom to all of her appointments and activities. The do exercises, prescribed by her Dr, with her. They go for a 3/4 mi walk virtually everyday. They prepare wonderful, healthy meals for her lunch and dinner. They bath her and make sure she's looking her best. They do some light house work and water the annuals and vegetables I plant. My mom likes them a lot and speaks fondly of them to me. Here's an example of helping mom over come a health related problem. Mom had a problem with elevated creatinine levels most likely because didn't have enough water in her system. She complained that she didn't want to go to the bathroom. I think she was experiencing "accidents" by not going to bathroom quick enough. The Care Givers solved this problem. There is a glass of water in every room of mom's house. They remind mom to drink some water regularly AND they "make" her go to the bathroom every 2 hours. My mom does all of this on her own now and her creatinine levels have decreased a little bit! The Care Manager is a great coordinator of mom's care with me, the Care Givers and other resources such as Doctors and the programs she has gotten mom involved with. The programs get mom out of the house, alleviating her boredom and increasing her socialization. The Care Givers take her to those programs and take care of chores, like shopping, during the time mom is in the group. We work closely on improving mon's care and well-being. The Care Manager is a wealth of knowledge and has provided suggestions on numerous issues I faced managing mom's well-being. The Care Manager's training as an RN has helped with mom's medical needs when she was exhibiting symptoms of possible health related problems. We, the Care Givers, Care Manager and myself are a great team and as such are improving the quality of life for mom. Mom's well-being is BETTER than when she was living on her own!

Eventually my mother's application was approved, but 4 months later we received a penalty notice which stopped the Medicaid payments for 6 1/2 months. When I first sent the notice to the worker she thought it was just a routine form letter until the nursing home confirmed that it was not. After paying all of the money to the company I no longer have confidence that they are Medicaid experts and have needed to spend more money to hire an Elder Care Certified Attorney to file the appeal. It seems that it would be much better to hire Certified Elder Care Law Firms in your state rather than a nationwide organization that has paraprofessionals handling such important matter.

My super Dad, who will be 90 soon, is the main reason she's still around and healthy. But he just survived a mild stroke and physically, he's not as strong as my Mom. As their children, we spent a lot of time helping them but with dementia, it's a very difficult and emotionally exhausting ordeal to handle. We were beyond lucky to have found J&M Home care service; especially Susan. Susan is a super bright lady who has a deep sense of compassion, empathy, patience and the knowledge of the disease. Within a couple months under Susan's care, both my parents' health have improved significantly. My Mom seems so much happier and those moments of her feeling frustrated and feared have reduced significantly. With My Mom's health improving, it has helped my Dad and the rest of us feeling so much lighter and happier. What special about Susan is that, even though my Mom speaks mainly Vietnamese and Susan speaks English, the love, care, understanding and compassion Susan has for my Mom overcomes any language barrier. I am so grateful for Susan and her heart. We are taking each day we have with our parents as a blessing. We pray that Susan will stay with my parents, especially my Mom, for a while. Sometimes, God sent an angel to us in a form of a beautiful and wonderful lady! Based on our experience with Susan, we highly recommend J&M Homecare Service to those who are looking for a trusted care taker to look after our loved ones!

That advice was 99% true. The 1% where it wasn't true was J&M Homecare Services. Constance was truly empathetic to our Friday night plight, and came over early on Saturday morning to assess our needs. She was caring and compassionate and really wanted to help us. She guided me through the process and the forms. They clearly have experience working with Long Term Care insurance companies and have an easy to follow process to help you get reimbursed. She immediately reached out to her scheduling team and I received a call that afternoon trying to schedule someone for the very next day. By then we were scrambling and had found help through a family friend, but still needed someone for Monday. On Sunday their scheduling expert had found someone for Monday. They worked during the weekend to try and fulfill our needs and the four other companies we tried calling on Friday all said they'd talk to us on Monday. Monday came and our provider was great. My mother was in the final stages of the dying process and our aide helped us clean, bathe and dress her without a second thought. My mother passed peacefully soon after. Watching a loved one pass on in front of you is a very emotionally trying experience, but having last minute help made an unbearable situation feel slightly less horrible. I had only one short experience with the person who came to care for my loved one, but the effort the company put forth fulfilling our needs at the last minute on the weekend feels like an industry exception. I would absolutely recommend J&M Homecare Services.
