Their produce section is surprisingly extensive, there's even a seafood section, and it looks like they've finally revamped the hot food next to the front entrance. The staff at checkout here are always quick and efficient, and I'm grateful they're such a decent Asian supermarket in the Capital District to complement the wonderful Kim's and Jang Tuh. They have their own parking lot and we have come close to not finding a parking space here, but there's a constant flow of people coming and going, so we've never actually not found parking.

I have to tell you the steaks were delicious, we marinated them and seasoned them perfectly but you still have to have a good steak to make it work. The selection of meat and seafood is definitely narrower than at the other market and the selection of canned goods and frozen items also seems smaller. The prices for produce are high and the organization of the aisles baffles me. This time I had a plan: a short list of specific needs from the Asian Market on Central which I hoped I could find here instead. But daikon was too expensive, a tub of peeled garlic was not in sight and I did not have the patience to search for wheat starch or Pantai brand fish sauce. All that said, it's still a four star experience. First for the experience of seeing many Muslim families shopping together on a Friday, and particularly the happy customers waiting at the busy halal butcher when their orders are delivered. Second for the depth of product which challenges the casual shopper but lets me know this would be a good source for a very specific product, like an obscure fruit or vegetable or one of the dozens of middle eastern flatbreads on offer. The labneh section alone deserves an award for brand diversity. Like it or not, I know I'll be back and am glad we have Farmer's Indian Market in our community.

Unfortunately, the experience was anything but great. To start, the service was incredibly slow. Even though the place was fully staffed, it felt chaotic and uncoordinated. We waited over 30 minutes for 2 subs, 1 eggplant roll, a few rice balls and fried ravioli. The employee had no idea how much anything cost or how to ring it up, needing to ask 2 other employees before incorrectly charging us anyway. The people at the register were also confused. We grabbed a container of sauerkraut, which they couldn't scan and needed go back to the aisle to check the price to ring up. After getting home, we discovered both subs were made incorrectly. Both the Italian supreme and deluxe Italian were made with shredded mozzarella, one of the subs was missing balsamic glaze and olive oil while the other was missing half the meats. To our dismay, we also found plastic in the Italian supreme sub in two different bites. When we called to give them the feedback on the plastic, they apologized with no follow up of trying to make it right - offering a refund or coming back to make a new sub correctly would have been the bare minimum for good customer service, but instead we were left feeling dismissed and frustrated after an already disappointing visit. Sure, the bread was good, but it couldn't make up for the poorly made sub. A brand-new place should be going above and beyond to make a strong first impression. Instead, this was a total letdown. Between the slow service, confusion of the staff, and plastic in the sub, it was very disappointing. Opening day or not -- food safety and customer service matter. And they failed on both fronts.

There is a full service meat department offering dry aged beef and house made sausage, and in the freezer case opposite you will find goose and pheasant though oddly no whole ducks (though you can buy duck breast at the butcher counter). They also stock a very large selection of "made for" pasta plus a generous assortment of gourmet groceries and produce so you could probably do all your shopping here if price were not an object. Most items did not have posted prices on opening day but a spot check suggest things are on the expensive side: $6.99/lb for cole slaw, $12.99 for 14 oz of garlic and artichoke ravioli and $30/lb for the dry aged rib steak I'm going to enjoy for dinner. (Dry aged beef is prime; beef in the case is Certified Angus.) Location is the old Pier One on the north side of Rte 50, near Best Buy. A worthy addition to the Saratoga Springs shopping experience.

This Korean grocery store is on a busy strip of Rt. 9, not too far from Latham Traffic Circle, across from a car dealership, and shares a small lot with Tamarind Thai, a Chinese Take-out Restaurant, and a vape store. There's more parking in the back. It's a lot larger and homier than it looks on the outside. The Spring & Summer months are especially nice, they have little seedlings of starter plants on the pavement out front & a community cork board up front. There's a lot of selection of frozen mandoo (dumplings), Melona ice cream bars, fresh Kimchee, soft tofu, a small but fresh section of vegetables (chives, oyster mushrooms, napa cabbage, burdock root), LOTS of family packs of Instant Korean Ramen (Ramyun), a Back room of Korean Home Goods (decent prices, nice glass tupperware, the have THE green "Italian bath towel" scrubby mitts for $2.99! THE best exfoliation that Instagram tries to sell similar mitts for *much* more). There's aisles of snacks & candy, cooking sauces, flour & yam noodles, Korean gim/seaweed, Chili powder, Frozen seafood & rice cakes, bags of rice, dried kelp & anchovies for stock, barley & Cintron tea, banana yogurt drinks. There's other Asian products too (Thai curry paste, some Chinese & Filipino sauces). The prices are a little higher than other Asian Markets in the Capital Region, so I usually just go for specific items: Yam Noodles for a Japchae recipe, Chapaghetti black bean Instant Ramen, a seasoned Seaweed crumble topping for rice, A small pack of Chinese-Korean black bean sauce for JaJang noodles (perfect size for a solo chef, haven't seen this size portion anywhere else). Oh and Yes! You can buy a Neoguri Ramen & Chapaghetti Ramen and make some noodles like the film Parasite. ...didn't see if they had frozen beef. Not sure if it's due to the pandemic, but sometimes they're out of stock on things, so it's better to call ahead. I realized that Wal-M--t carries Shin Black Ramen now because they were always out. Overall, a really nice find and I love wandering around & looking at all the products. The staff is so kind, their friends seem to stop by often & chat in the back kitchen/fridge area. Check them out!
