The food is amazing, and the portion sizes are perfect for the price. The place is nice, and every server we've had has been very kind. We've been here three times and have enjoyed the food every time. But for goodness' sake, please hire more servers! I genuinely felt bad for our server, who was working by themselves, clearly stressed, and still trying their best to provide good service. The service was slow, but it was absolutely not the server's fault. There was only one person handling so much, and there's only so much one person can do. Everything else, especially the food, is amazing!

It wa a good experience! I'm not so sure why there's so many negative reviews but this place was honestly a great spot. If you aren't looking for a different experience for a restaurant, this is the place to go. It almost gives a Fogo de Chão type vibe but instead you pay for your meat by the pound. and my partner and I had the 1.5 lbs lamb shank and it came out piping hot. The sides were great. I'm not sure if they were bottomless, but we did show up an hour before closing. They is still very accommodating. I will say some of the comments are right when the rice doesn't come out piping hot, but I don't know if that's maybe their style of serving the rice or if it's because we came during the end of the day. I would definitely come back again and try their other meats.

I was eager to try this new place out and glad I did. I went during lunchtime during the holiday, so it was on the quieter side. During this time, only four cuts were available: lamb neck, lamb shank, beef brisket and beef ribs. I ordered all but the lamb neck. Staff was friendly and helpful. The person managing the smoked meats gave good recommendations on type of meat and portions - we ordered just the right amount for two people and had some leftovers too. All of the meat was tender, juicy and flavorful- my favorite was the beef ribs, to me, it had a good mix of meat and fat. As other reviewers mentioned, garnishes rice, salad, sides, sauces and beverages (excluding mocktails) are included in the price. We had 3 salads (green salad, corn salad and tabbouleh) and 7 sauces (mushroom, chimichurri, hot sauce, honey, honey mustard ,bbq and the white sauce). We also got the mashed potatoes but it was served in the small sauce dish. For desert, we tried the kunafa and it had the right amount of sweetness to end the meal. Reading other reviews, it's definitely a mixed bag! I think my experience was on the more positive side because of the time day I went and when. Overall, I enjoyed the food and experience. Some some details I appreciated - they had small disposal towels (they weren't your regular wet towelettes!) to wipe your hands which is nice little touch. Also, the chairs are SUPER comfy! It's nice to have a different type of meat restaurant that serves other cuts and lamb. Would go back again to for the beef ribs and try other cuts.

It was alright; I think we will give it another shot, but earlier in the evening (when hopefully half of the lamb items are NOT sold out already...). Our reservation was for 8 pm. As others have noted, the service style is somewhat fast-casual in nature: you order your meats by the pound from the front/at the chef's counter, where they weigh your choices and then reheat them with added seasoning (the honey on the lamb is a definite must). Then you are shown to a table, where you get your sides/drinks (all included in the price of the meal). I was underwhelmed by the brisket (dry, tasteless); the lamb neck and the lamb shanks were tasty. I would only order lamb next time. The rice was not hot, temperature-wise; the side salads were okay, although a bit on the skimpy side (yes, it's unlimited on the servings, but each bowl has a scant handful of salad inside). The service was very friendly, but super ineffecient. We had to request water refills 3-4 times before actually receiving them. This is partially due to the fact that there are 1-2 servers, and everyone else on the floor is... well. I'm not really sure what their roles were, but they did not engage with customers directly? Some occasionally cleared tables. Odd. I would enjoy more attentive care as a diner (versus the theatrics of firing flame throwers periodically in the kitchen area).

Food was good. Very friendly staff. Nice and quiet as we went for lunch. Ordered the lunch special - brisket. Slight misunderstanding when server thought it was for both, although BF had clearly said Lamb special and I said brisket special. Another misunderstanding when we asked asked about sparkling water and heard it was included like soft drinks - we were charged but it was taken off after talking to the server. Parking is free in the building since they validate. All in all, a good experience. We will come again to try the different meats!

Their meats are available by the pound but some cuts are available even if you want less than a pound. You go ask the chefs which type do you want and they will season it according to whatever you like. All the accompaniments like salads, sauces are unlimited. Their roasted potatoes are really good and so are all the salads. For sauces, we really enjoyed chimichuri and hot sauce. Overall a great experience.

Food was very tasty and very tender as promised! Amazing smoked beef and lamb! Service was not as i expected, they weren't super busy tonight but my waiter seemed to take a long time to come my table. Beautiful ambiance inside main dining room! For dessert we tried the kunafa and it was pricey ($12) for a small kunafa!

Sadly, Meat Moot was a total disappointment. We arrived on time for our 6:30pm reservation on Christmas Eve but still had to wait in line for over 30 minutes! This is because they don't offer the usual table service. It's more Chipotle-style where everyone queues up (regardless of reservation) and makes their way down a counter where the employees cut and weigh different kinds of meat in front of the customers. There were several people working behind the counter, but it still took forever for us to get served and then get seated. Another ding for Meat Moot was that half of the cuts were not available. Oh, and one type of meat (lamb neck) was only available in four pound increments! For our party of four, we settled for one pound each of beef brisket, beef ribs, and lamb shank. Once we were seated, we waited a long time for the side dishes to come out. At this point, we were starving but it was difficult to eat just meat, especially since it was not very well seasoned. The meat isn't cooked with any sort of rub or seasoning. They will add salt, pepper, paprika, etc after slicing the meat, but they do it in a weird stylistic way where it might look cool but the seasoning barely lands on the meat. It's all style and no substance. Another problem with Meat Moot is that the sides were really disappointing. The web site mentions five different salads, mashed potatoes, and rice as well as seven different sauces, but in reality we only got rice, four salads and five sauces. We never got any mashed potatoes. The side dishes were also very small, and they didn't bring out multiples of each side. There was one small 4" dish of each salad for four people. (Thankfully, we all got our own portion of rice.) Sure, they offer unlimited refills, but good luck getting the attention of one of the harried servers. They were very understaffed for how busy it was and for the number of tables. Even when we did get someone to come to our table, we did not feel compelled to get refills, because the rice, side dishes, and sauces were just okay-tasting. The meat was also not as tender or smoky as I had hoped for. Honestly, you're better off going to Outsider BBQ for smoked meats. It's also run by a Turk and their beef brisket is the best I have ever had. They spoiled me. Hamdi, next door to Outsider, is another Turkish place that does a good job with meat. Their steaks are so smoky and delicious! Anyway, there are two positive aspects of Meat Moot which are a clean, modern space, and the staff was very nice and friendly. Sadly that doesn't justify spending $200 for a subpar meal. P.S. this is a halal place, so they do not serve any pork or alcohol.

Bar with salads that the cook is using to prepare our meat platter .

This place was awesome and I will definitely will be coming back . The environment is so clean and welcoming all the way to the bathroom ! The staff were awesome and very polite ! We ordered two specials that came out to about $50. The salads were yummy and so was the dipping sauces . The bacalava was so good and everything i thought it would be from seeing it being made on tv ! it was $12. out bill came out to $66. Our server name was Anthony . He's very soft spoken but he was a sweet man and approached us with a smile every time . Thank you Anthony !

What I ordered, 1 pound of brisket.

Found this new restaurant searching online for halal. Great value, excellent selections of smoked meats, and UNLIMITED salads, sides, and cold soft drinks. The service is perfectly attentive and looks like their uniforms are tailored. Saw a couple of shirts and a hat I'd love to have! Parking was free and easy and online reservations on Opentable was easy. This restaurant is new and definitely will get busy. It was family and date friendly too.

Filled with corporate slop bowls to fuel up tech bros, you won't find a decent meal anywhere on this side of the lake. But Tanoor is kind of like that special someone who has been there your whole life but you've always looked past for greener pastures. This restaurant was staring me right in the eyes for years, and I didn't realize how magnificent it was until today. When you walk in you are greeted by warm, fresh and fluffy pita. Guess what, IT COMES WITH THE MEAL! Everyone knows I'm a sucker for some free bread. But don't let these Lebanese pillows fill you up, the dip marathon has just begun. The menu here is unlike anything I've ever seen. You can get lost trying to figure out what to order for lunch, so I would advise consulting the waitstaff for guidance through this delightful maze. I just looked on their menu to figure out what the fries that I ate were called, and I can't find them for the life of me. But they had their own incredible dip completely covering them. At one point we had 4 different dips on the table, and I'm not sure how they got there. 1) The dip on the fries 2) Spicy hummus (not that spicy, incredibly tasty) 3) Za'tar that comes with the pita 4) Yogurt sauce that came with the Kabob combo Everything comes with something else here. And since I was having an electric conversation with my good friend, I sort of lost track of everything that we ordered. But if you love dipping things in other things as much as I do, you will love Tanoor!

I highly recommend the combo for two to three people as you get a variety of different appetizers and all of the main kabobs. However, a couple of things that really made this experience mediocre. First, the meat was overcooked even though I asked for medium rare. Most of the meat came out medium well. The rice was undercooked and hard when you bit into it. The server could have been more attentive.. didn't come back to check on us, even though the restaurant wasn't super busy. The biggest disappointment is that this establishment passes on a 5% fee to help pay for their staff's benefits. They stay it's optional and they can take it off but it's very distasteful. The owner should reconsider this and build this expense into the pricing of their menu. Otherwise their wait staff is going to feel slighted when customers leave less tip because of this additional fee. Overall, this is a solid place, but the experience was just average considering all aspects, and therefore the three star rating.

Since my last review the restaurant has closed and reopened, and expanded their menu, to now include more dumplings and varieties of noodles. They also now have a very handy duo of ordering kiosks, which you order at prior to sitting down. I found their kiosks easy to use, which isn't always a given. This being my first visit back in a while, I had to get the spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles. However I had to try some dumplings, so we shared the lamb dumplings, while my dinner buddy had the spicy cumin lamb rice noodle soup (the same kind of noodles you'd get at a ten second yunnan noodle type of place). They also now have a complimentary side dish bar that has seaweed salad, peanuts, and kimci, as well as some condiment type things like scallions and minced garlic. I helped myself to some seaweed salad to nibble on while waiting for our food, and it was good although food comes out quickly enough that you don't necessarily have to rely on it unless you're really chomping at the bit. The spicy cumin lamb biang biang noodles are just as good as I remember. The biang biang noodles here are perfectly chewy, and the rest of the dish has a lovely flavor aside from just spice. They're generous with lamb and cabbage which add a lot of textural variety to the plate. The lamb dumplings were the sleeper hit of the meal, filled with juicy, tender hunks of lamb surrounded by toothsome clearly hand-rolled wrappers. Absolutely do not skip the lamb dumplings. My dinner buddy really enjoyed her rice noodle soup with spicy cumin lamb, which I think would be a great option on a cold day. Everything is pretty much self serve here, so don't expect full service -- although they did stop by to refill our water once.
