While the location of this place might be off-putting, it's certainly worth the trip. Great flavor, huge portions, friendly staff, and overall great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Probably the only unfortunate thing is the quality of the chairs, they are dreadfully uncomfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We started with the satay and it was excellent, highly recommend. Good flavor, great sauce, love the crunchy onions (which the serve on a number of their dishes). Their garlic fries, although not very garlicky, were delicious. Especially if you dipped them in the vinegar sauce that the short rib plate came with. The katsu was good, although I thought it needed salt. Loved the slaw that came with it. For mine, I actually had the short ribs, which were good. Great char/crisipyness. They were a tad salty but I still ate them! The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the hard fried egg that was served on the rice. I would prefer not crispy outsides and still runny insides. Overall, highly recommend this place!

I will definitely go back to Salima, I tried one dish and I will try more! The service was excellent and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance its like you're at home![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This cozy mom-and-pop spot is a hidden gem. I tried the oxtail soup, and it was phenomenal -- rich, flavorful broth with perfectly tender, fall-off-the-bone oxtail. The oxtail meat was tender and juicy. The broth was a bit oily as reported by others so I knew that already. The dipping bread was fresh and flaky. The flavors had that deep, slow-cooked, soulful taste you only get in real home cooking. The passion fruit tea was super refreshing with just the right amount of natural sweetness and tartness from the passion fruit. The tea itself was light and smooth--not overly sugary like some places make it [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with kind staff who treat you like family.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can tell everything is made with love. If you're craving halal Pan-Asian comfort food, this place is an absolute must.

Imagine a Zabiha Halal restaurant in Seattle that could give any top-tier Vietnamese spot a run for its money--that's exactly how my friend described this place. And trust me, you don't need to imagine, this is real! It doesn't end at being Vietnamese. Whether you're craving Malaysian, Indonesian, Chinese, or Japanese or Cham Cambodian cuisine, this spot has something for everyone. Mashallah! So I mentioned Vietnamese? I have to start with the pho. Oh. My. Goodness. It's incredible! The broth needs to be spot on , and it is ! it is everything--clear yet super rich, perfect balance of savory, sweet, and umami. super aromatic and bursting with bold flavors of simmered beef and spices. Silky, chewy noodles, crisp herbs, and a splash of hoisin or sriracha -- boom. Tender oxtail, juicy meatballs, or sliced brisket, each piece absorbed the broth's richness beautifully. It's the ultimate comfort food for Seattle's chilly gloomy days! Must Try! 9.5/10 Beef Banh Mi Samdwich: The first thing I always check in a authentic bánh mì is the bread,--it shouldn't be the French baguette but the true Vietnamese derivative, crusty on the outside and airy inside. It passed the test. The first bite felt a bit dry, but the second was a burst of flavor. The juicy beef carried a delicate hint of lemongrass, paired beautifully with tangy pickled vegetables, crunchy carrots, fresh herbs, and crispy onions on top. Every element worked in harmony, with just the right balance of spice and fragrance. One minor suggestion: while delicious, a slightly larger portion of sauces/mayo would enhance the sandwich. 8/10 Beef Short Ribs! This dish on the menu truly surprised me and made me happy. This is probably their most popular dish. The Vietnamese braised Beef Short Ribs was deeply flavorful, with a rich balance of sweet and savory notes. Note that, these are Asian style thinly cut short ribs, not the bone in short ribs, means mostly meat with little bone. I loved the subtle heat and fragrant aroma, the contrasting notes with jasmine rice and egg and a side of fresh herbs for garnishing. On my day the meat was a bit tough, I wish it was more tender. 7.5/10 Let's move on to the Malayasian/Indonesian dishes: Chicken Satay: To be honest, I wasn't a huge fan of Satay until I tried it at Salima's. The chicken skewers were incredibly flavorful, with a smoky, savory, and slightly sweet char. The creamy peanut sauce was a revelation - they even claimed it was recognized the best in Seattle! And the addition of crispy onions provided a delightful textural contrast. Must try ! 9.5/10 Roti Canai, a Malaysian take on layered flatbread, was served with Malaysian lamb curry. While its origins lies in South Asia, the Malaysian version has its own unique charm. One prerequisite - forget the south Asian expectation of how curry should be. I could remove my south Asian bias on curry - and it was very delicious. 7.5/10 Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice) My wife loved the Nasi Goreng, enjoying the flavors and the egg on top. I, however, felt it could have a little more depth of Indonesian touches and could have used more protein for the price. 6.5/10 The menu is extensive, offering countless dishes to explore on many visits. The drink selection is impressive, with options like mango lassi, cold tea and various fruit drinks. I personally enjoyed the passion fruit drink. Prayer facilities with prayer mats, so no worries about missing your Salah. Going to miss their pho at home? Most likely ... No worries .. they offer convenient instant pho packets. It's noteworthy that the owners are highly regarded within the community for their charitable endeavors.

Excellent food! I'm confident this is one of the best halal options in Seattle. All of the food was excellent, but the beef short rib plate was delicious, flavorful, and filling. I would definitely come back if I was in the area. Service was quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend!

I was ecstatic when I heard about a Vietnamese restaurant that prepares its food with halal meat. I'd basically consigned myself to eating veggie pho for the rest of my life which is just not the same! I'm happy to report that Salima Specialties does the dishes justice by cooking them authentically and with fresh ingredients. The standout is the Pho. I got the combo: meatball, brisket, and oxtail. All at one incredible price. Eat this over the course of several days by yourself or share with the entire family while you're at the store. The rich, umami broth will not disappoint! I liked the combo plates too. The fried egg on top of the sticky rice was a nice touch. Mixing the meat, rice, and the pickled veggies on the side was the perfect combo of rich flavors and acidic undercurrent for a refreshing and hearty experience. I didn't love the mountain of fried onions on top, especially since they'd gone soft and were no longer crunchy, but the meat was grilled properly. The Bahn Mi was a bit dry at first, but once you get further into the sandwich you get more of the mayo and it's alright. Definitely not the best Bahn mi in Seattle, but if you eat only halal and this is your only option, it certainly doesn't feel like you're settling. Still a solid bahn mi experience! Service was a tad slow but we came at a busy time. When the food arrived though, it was hot and fresh so we weren't complaining. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked that there was ample seating in door and out, with the staff being very open to us configuring the seats how we liked based on our party size.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a little prayer area on the side hallway that has a privacy curtain and prayer rugs. Really appreciated them making that space for us, even though it's a bit cramped.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was more comfortable praying outside on their patio. Overall wonderful experience and I'm looking forward to returning again!

Salima Specialties offers several, different Asian delicacies, which made it hard for me to choose what to order the first time I visited. I wanted a lot of the different items I saw on the large menu, like the roti or lamb curry and the chicken wings and you name it. There's something here that'll please just about everyone. Located in the Skyway neighborhood near Grocery Outlet, it's a small shop that has a few tables inside for dining in. However, I noticed that most of the customers were getting takeout. When I asked the employee for her recommendations, she mentioned that the brisket pho was their best seller. Well, it was a typical, rainy day when I visited, so I figured I couldn't go wrong with pho. I ordered that with a Vietnamese iced coffee. You order at the counter and pick a seat where the employees bring your items to you once it's ready. My coffee came out first and it was sooo good! I love Vietnamese coffee and this one was made with Phin coffee, so you know that shit is legit. I loved how bold the coffee was, which is how all coffee should be. Then the brisket pho came out in a heavy, stone pot and there was a ton of brisket and meatballs, with all the standard toppings on the side. The brisket was tender and flavorful and the meatballs were solid. I loved the broth, which I didn't realize I needed on a cold day until I started slurping. I can see why this pho is their best seller. The only minor issue is that a lot of the noodles clumped together, but not a big deal. I would love to come back and explore more of the menu especially because it offers such a variety. I'm glad to have discovered this small business as I can tell it's a beloved spot in the Skyway neighborhood.

Incredible food, very cheery and chill ambience, and such friendly service! The portion size and flavorful food leave absolutely nothing more to be desired. Such a treat to find fully halal restaurants, and that too cuisines beyond the usual middle eastern or indian options. We got extra packed to go, and will definitely be back insha'Allah. Make sure to try the teh tarik, you will not be disappointed!

I ordered the food from Salima Specialties for my husband 50th birthday. They really delivered! The quality of food, the quantity, the presentation, the staff, simply everything was top notch. I ordered food for 75 people and I really think they cooked for 10+ more! The food is so unique and tasty, everyone was asking about the location because they want to visit Salima Specialties in the future. You will be very pleased if you decide to go with catering by Salima Specialties.

This place was recommended by a friend and it was the best recommendations we've been to! This hidden gem is located around Skyway area right by Grocery Outlet. As we went inside, we were greeted by the friendly staff at the counter. Since this was our first time, we didn't know what to order but what stood out most was their pan-Asian street foods. The menu had lots of pictures that looked so appetizing. Here's what we got with pics: Drinks: Mango lassi- the drink was good but fruit wasn't ripen enough so it wasn't sweet enough. Thai green tea- this was by far the best drink I've had. The flavor were very fragrant with some hints of floral. I will definitely order this again. Blue butterfly drink- this was a very unique drink that had pea flowers, basil seeds, agar jelly and some nuts. While the drink was pretty to drink, I thought it was just okay. If you like something new and adventurous, this will be it! Foods shared amongst four people: Cham Bao- the bao had a delicious filling of shrimp, veggies and quail egg. Who would've thought having a quail egg inside a bun would taste so good! Definitely a must try! Samosas- Now I've had samosas from Indian restaurants before but this place is no different except the yummy chutney sauce. This was a bit pricey for two pieces but they were huge to split. Chicken satay skewers: This was by far one of our favorites to eat. Chicken were tendered and seasoned with lemongrass, turmeric and drizzled with some special peanut sauce. It goes so well with the side dipping sauces. We liked the peanut and fish sauce. Lemongrass beef: honestly, this was our least favorite dish. The beef were a bit dry. It seasoned well with lemongrass but just wasn't what we expected. Chicken wrap: I saw this on the pictures and knew I had to order this. It has a large piece of chicken with some pickled veggies wrapped with a warm piece of roti. I could technically eat this whole thing as meal. This was one of my favorites to try! Roti canai: really love their flaky roti and have it dipped into their lamb curry. This dish was solid and is halal friendly. Will have to order this again! Chicken wings: the chicken wings were standard but goes really well with their homemade sauces. It came with a signature dipping sauce which we loved. Desserts: Black rice pudding: this was by far our favorite! It has a strong aroma of coconut, filled with pandan, taro and glutinous rice. Really reminds you of the Vietnamese che dessert. Love the fact that it's nice and warm, which was a perfect end to our meal. Will definitely reorder this again! Fried banana: The bananas are breaded and deep fried. It goes really well with the coconut cream dipping sauce. We were sad that we didn't get the passionfruit sauce but the coconut cream was just as delicious! Overall, this small business deserves a 5/5 for the uniqueness of their foods. I like how they incorporate different parts of Pan-Asian cuisine and create street foods to cater different palates. Will definitely come back again to try the other items on the menu!

We ordered shrimp fritters, lamb curry, & a chicken wrap. Order total came out to about $40 - it was cheaper to call and order versus ordering online! My husband and two littles feasted and still have lamb curry leftovers. The curry was flavorful and my son who doesn't like shrimp was "tricked" into trying the fritters and enjoyed them. Both dishes were good but hands down our favorite item was the chicken wrap. Its veggies, marinated meat and unique wrap were most impressive! We will definitely order the chicken wrap again, but may swap out the curry & fritters for other recommended items like the chicken satay, taro fries &/or samosas. The menu all looks SO good!!!

Deez Dogs - Downtown Seattle (by the Camlin & Paramount)…read more Post-hockey game hunger led us to this little street-corner gem and WOW... Tasty! Tasty! Tasty! We ordered the Seattle-style dogs -- my hubby went for the spicy dog and I had the classic beef -- both loaded with that dreamy combo of cream cheese + grilled onions. Absolute late-night comfort food perfection. Hot, messy in the best way, and exactly what you want after cheering on a Seattle Thunderbirds 4-1 win . The service? Just as good as the food. She was super friendly, chatted with us while we waited, and even shared local tips on how to save money around the city -- which made the whole stop feel more like talking with a friend than ordering from a cart. And the setup is adorable -- a true street-corner hot dog cart right by the Camlin Hotel and Paramount Theatre, easy to find and perfect for a quick downtown bite. If you're out late, catching a show, leaving a game, or just craving a legit Seattle dog... this spot hits the mark. Will 100% be back!

Pretty much all the sportsbars and restaurants nearby were packed, so we decided to just walk to the Arena and eat inside. Then I noticed this little hotdog stand. The lady running the store was extremely nice, especially to my daughter (which always wins extra points from me!). I of course ordered the Seattle dog. They had various condiments and toppings available on the side including ketchup, mustard, sauerkraut, pickles and pickled carrots. It was just the perfect amount of food with lots of flavors. After we were done eating, we came by the stand to grab some napkins and the lady asked us how the food was. I thought it was a nice gesture. She really didn't have to say anything and she had quite a few customers in line. She was able to multitask and provide excellent service to every customer. This is a hotdog stand. There are no tables. Condiments and napkins are all self-service. Each hot dog was $12 (this already includes sales tax and tipping is optional). I highly recommend if you are here for concerts or kraken games and want some good food that won't cost you an arm and a leg inside the arena.

The tomato sauce, like many reviews have noted, is more like a marinara than a salsa. It works really well with this particular dish. At first, digging into it, I didn't think much. But when I scooped the potatoes, which absorb a lot of the flavor and fat of the cheese, and piled on some of the tender, otherwise somewhat underseasoned but nicely charred carne asada, the flavors melded in absolutely heaven! The carne asada managed to be juicy and tender, despite being finely chopped. Again, this shepard's pie type of dish really takes advantage of mixing together all the finely chopped ingredients. I highly recommend getting this if you're going to visit! The lime wedge and salsas feel essential too. I don't know how I feel about packaged salsas - the green and dark sauce were both delicious and maybe packaging it seals the freshness. But I guess if they're going for ultra fast prep and scale it makes sense. The dark sauce is smokey, like a less sweet and deeper version of mole. The choco chip and almond cookie is also excellent. It's very sweet, and the edges caramelize and are crispy due to the amount of sugar. But it's a decently balanced cookie and loved the almonds in it.
