So. Good. The food. The customer service. The table service. The atmosphere. All of it. So. Good. Went on a double date with some good friends. What an excellent experience. The spot is clean and I love clean. We requested a "show". I guess they don't normally do them that time of day but they did. For us. It was the coolest thing. The table service was so good. She was on it. And the food. Umm... yum! Oddly enough, the rice was my favorite. A good time was had all around. They do have a lot for parking.

    Jackpot!

First time ever visiting a restaurant where you can openly tell their team is working to make sure you have a great experience. That is their number one priority and it is a breath of fresh air for dining in. The decor is cool and the food is delicious! (of course I would say that since I'm a hardcore meat devouring machine). Do not compare this restaurant to American Smokehouses or BBQ. This is a wnderful culinary trip that just happens to take place right here in Chicagoland. Call everybody and meet up at Meat Moot... every week.

I would say this place was pretty good. It felt like it was missing something but honestly you can't go wrong with the brisket (add the seasoning and honey soooooo goood!). The servers were really good about checking in on us and seeing if we needed anything else. I would love to know if the sides are unlimited because there were some like the potatoes I would have loved to get seconds on. Overall a decent place I would definitely come back to for that brisket.

Not sure where to start. I was so excited to try this place and it turned into a disappointment. Our food was cold, all the sides were cold, seamed as if the person that did come to our table was bothered by us asking questions and for additional sides. They did not do the fire presentation, we repeatedly said we had never been there before. For the price definitely not worth it. Nachos were a joke, barely any meat, Cole slaw was on them which seams odd. As we were finishing up we saw a line of people, and all of sudden they decided to do the fire show. We asked for another refill on the mashed potatoes. The server came and said there were none left it would take 30mins. We also asked for water and I was brought a carry out cup when I opened it there was all kinds of brown and black dots moving around at the bottom of the cup made me wonder what I was drinking the whole time I was at the restaurant. As we were paying there were plenty of servers bringing out the mashed potatoes to other tables, he just didn't want to give them to us. Will not be back definitely a disappointment and rip off!!

This was our first visit to Meat Moot. We sat down and they brought us menus. They are known for their meat by the pound with all you can eat sides of oven roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, lettuce and onion that they call a salad, coleslaw, rice, and sauces. We opted for a pound of brisket and beef rib meat nachos. Most of the items are gluten free, but when we asked our server about a specific sauce, it was clear they did not know and did not want to ask for sure after we questioned them 3 times in different ways. The food came out and nothing was hot - meat, nachos, both types of potatoes- just warm. While this was disappointing, the nachos were worse. Very little meat and poor quality cheese and chips I'd liken to high school nachos. The brisket was good, not great, and with all the different sauces, it was easy to find a few that hit for both of us. The server was bad. We felt like a bother to them. From not answering our sauce question, coming back for refills, and vanishing our last 15 minutes of dinner, it was frustrating. Just before the server's vanishing act, some music went off to gather people's attention. The person in charge of meats had a blow torch, was heating up the foiled meat, and opened it up to piping hot meat we never experienced. When I returned to my table I could see the meat on two different tables next to me with steam puring off of it. When the server returned, I asked for more mashed potatoes and was told they were out and it would take 30 minutes. At that point I asked for a to go container for the rest of the brisket and some more water. The server brought a to go water, which was nice, until I opened the cup to be greeted with black sediment at the bottom of the cup. Wow! We learned, after asking, we had to go towards the meat counter to pay for our food. We were asked for a table number we never received, and there was a bit of confusion before they found our bill. As I waited for that, I saw a beautiful dish of mashed potatoes, steam floating beautifully away from them, being swept away and taken to another table. What happened to the 30 minutes? This place was a disappointment for us but obviously better for others. So this tells me they are inconsistent in their quality, and they have a definite issue with their water. Who knows what I drank at this point?

Omg, is all I can say. I never even heard of this place before I was invited to go there last night. My date almost chose to go somewhere in my neighborhood of Hyde Park but was worried the traffic on I-55 would be brutal because of the snow. After checking the time on maps (26 minutes) we went for it. We arrived around 7:30 and only one other party --a rather large one-- was already seated. Our gracious host, Mustafa, seated us and explained how the ordering process works. We check out the menu, figure out what we want and then head on over to the ordering counter. Meat Moot is a halal, smoked meat metropolis where the "Meatier" performs a spectacular show while plating up your order. The large party beats to the counter so we had to wait about 10 minutes to place our order, but we were treated to the Flaming of the Meats spectacle since they had such a large and varied order. And what a show it was. The "Meatier" retrieves the selected meats from the smoker and while they are still wrapped, he sets them on fire with a military-grade torch, then he unwraps the meats, places it on the scale then plates it up with Meat Moot's exotic spices and a healthy drizzle of honey. Next, the servers brings the platter to the table along with various sides, sauces and drinks (no alcohol served here). We ordered the brisket and beef ribs which were oh-so-tender and seasoned perfectly with a tasty, but not overwhelming level of smoke. We were happy and completely pigged out while still having enough left over for each of us to take home. At one point a photographer came over and all I heard was "free" and postcard" so I said yes. At the end of our meal she came back with the postcard and what looked like a program book from a concert, but with my pic in it, for $15. I didn't want to seem cheap but I just wanted the free postcard. But get your hustle on girl, I ain't mad. Three more large parties arrived while we were eating and everyone was having a great time. The ambiance and decor is not what you call sexy, but it's definitely warm and inviting. Mustafa was very nice and took his time explaining everything on the menu and checked on us regularly. I'd love to come back here for a GNO or with a large group for a special occasion. Gold Star for Meat Moot!

Greeting Foodzies, today we travel down south for all my southside FoodZies. We went to Meat Moot at 7990 s Harlem in Burbank. It's a moderate size restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. The interior is kind of rustic, but euro at the same time. The menu is used from a QR code as you enter the restaurant. Once you make your selection on your phone, you relay it to the people working in the service area. Once you choose what meat you want the rest is the same for everybody. They have a nice variety of different beef and lamb, cuts (beef brisket, beef, shank, lamb, shank, beef ribs). Each meal is served with different Indian spices on top, and surrounding your cut of meat are different types of peppers, potatoes, cherry tomatoes and roasted garlic. Also included in your meal, our four sides you get mashed potatoes, a cucumber tomato, kind of pico de gallo minus the onion, arugula salad with some red onions and coleslaw. All three very flavorful the coleslaw is large cut and refreshing. The cucumber tomato salad is a diced cucumber and tomato with a light oil And the arugula with the red onions also in a light oil sauce. A company these dishes are eight different sauces each in their own individual cup for dipping, you have everything from Honey, tzatziki, barbecue sauce, a vinegar based hot sauce, yogurt, another chopped tomato sauce, a relish type sauce, and a turmeric sauce. Each of these sauces when mixed with the different types of meats brings out a whole new flavor. There is plenty of food so you will not leave hungry, the beef brisket, and the lamb shank were extremely tender. The only thing I found to be not so good was the potatoes were kind of cold and unevenly cooked; somewhere tender others had a hard skin and hard. Also, I would've liked a breakdown of all of the sauces when they were delivered; we had to more or less figure it out for ourselves. That aside, we will definitely be going back, we really enjoyed this meal. Another fun fact, all of the lunch meals are only $19.95 each and only includes the beef brisket and the lamb shank. The dinner on the other hand is $46.95 for each meal and has a larger variety of meat. I give this restaurant 5 stars. I hope you try it for yourself, and let me know what you think. So I've been dying to get to this place since I heard their only US location was iin the Chicagoland area. It was a different dining experience. I opted for the $19.95 lunch special which includes your choice of brisket or lamb shank, drink and unlimited sides ( ordinarily they sale the meat by the lb at about $45/lb with unlimited drinks and sides included). The dinner also had beef ribs. I will say this... the meat was very good. At the recommendation of the man behind the counter, I chose the brisket. It was more like a chuck roast, but if it was, it was the best roast I've ever had. I'll definitely return. The flavor of the meat was outstanding. Went with a friend who is vegetarian and she was able to just get unlimited sides for $7. I felt sorry for her bc the sides were just sort of a distraction. I almost forgot the honey drizzle they put on the meat! Sounded strange but I LOVED IT!!!!

This is the brisket lunch special today.

Everything was amazing. Service and atmosphere and food. My only complaint is I should have shared it with a friend. Enough food easily for 2-3. Definitely would like to return.

Come here for the meat. It's amazing. We went on the 4th and it was not busy we were warmly welcomed and given a sample of the brisket. Unlike Texas style brisket this is more slow roasted and falling apart. If you look up the traditional Turkish Tandir you can see how it's slow roasted. With the meat they freshly seasoned comes tomato, sweet roasted garlic, potatoes, and peppers. My husband got Beef Brisket and I opted for Lamb Neck. The meal also includes spiced rice, salad and many sauces. I liked the dynamite sauce in particular. Only issue, it's about 55 miles from where we live.

Hubby ordered the rib tips with fries, baked beans, and had the hot and mild barbecue sauce on the side. I ordered the 1/2 dark smoked chicken dinner with mac-n-cheese, spicy Cajun green beans, and spicy honey garlic barbecue sauce. I agree with Robert, that the sauce pairs very well with the chicken. The tips were tender and falling off the bone. He didn't care for the fries and loved the baked beans, even though they were a bit too spicy for him. My chicken was also very tender and I enjoyed the smokiness. The green beans had the right amount of spice although they were not as spicy as the baked beans. The mac-n-cheese was creamy. We were too full to order dessert. Maybe next time. This is a great neighborhood staple and will definitely be back.
