I'll start out by saying I love the ambiance. It is very vibrant and clean. They even have a small bar inside. The staff helped me at nephew pick out his plate. I did the big bowl with chicken. Everything was delicious. Well, everything except the garlic sauce coming from a push style dispenser. I like my Mediterranean garlic spreads super fresh. Meddy's is a nice addition to our SW 19th St! It's a nice little fusion between fast food and somewhat upscale dining. You order at the counter upon coming in, and they have servers who bring you napkins and complimentary pita as you sit down. We enjoyed the hummus, and I ordered the lamb plate while my partner had the lamb shawarma. The lamb plate I received was delicious but it was extremely oily, so I'm glad I had the tabbouleh as a side, and it was topped with a nice cilantro salad. The lamb shawarma was a little smaller than we had anticipated. It was good, but the portion size was definitely smaller than the plate and came with two pieces, sort of like a burrito cut in half. The hummus was great. Funny enough, I've had Meddy's catering a few times now too, and I love their catering! Probably more than I enjoyed dining in, so I highly recommend this option if you're looking for delicious catering for work or other large part needs! read more

Customer service and food was below par. The food may be from a Mediterranean concept, but it falls well short of expectations... falling short probably makes sense when the restaurant name is Meddy's. They can't even get the Tzatziki right! read more

To start, the food at Meddys is actually quite good. Unfortunately, the service has declined with each of our three visits, and the tipping process has become increasingly frustrating. On our most recent visit, we were greeted by a very friendly order taker. My wife and I placed our orders, and when I went to pay, the screen immediately prompted me to tip before any service had been provided. It was awkward, and I couldn't find a "no tip" option anywhere. I usually leave cash on the table after the meal, even at counter‑service restaurants, but after searching for the option, I ended up selecting "other" and leaving a $3 tip on a $38 order. Almost immediately, the order taker's demeanor changed. We sat down, and shortly after, a server dropped a plate of pita bread on our table without a word. The only other interaction we had was when another server silently dropped off a tea refill--same scowl, no greeting, no acknowledgment. This mirrored our previous two visits almost exactly. I don't know if the staff sees a $3 tip and decides service isn't necessary, or if they simply don't care, but either way, it's disappointing. I understand that many places now prompt for tips at the register, but it's getting ridiculous. Employees should not expect a tip before providing any level of service. As much as I enjoy the food, the consistently poor service means I won't be returning to Meddys. read more

Busy supper rush. Super noisy waiting to order and hard to hear counter staff and hard for them to hear us when ordering. Got a table in back that was quieter and allowed for easy conversation. Excited to try the gluten free pita option for swarma. Very good flavor of both beef and wrap. They did not cut my wrap in half. Given the size of the wrap and the moistness of the meat, the wrap came undone and was very messy to eat. Will request it to be cut next time (like our other one was by default). Since I'm gluten free we ordered veggie side so I could enjoy the hummus as well. The veggies were fresh and the hummus was creamy and had great flavor. I was disappointed at the price of the veggies as they more than doubled the cost of the side with pita. read more

I dislike the order at the counter idea for a couple reasons. One feeling pressured to decide on your order quickly and two, the tipping in advance. The inside is tastefully furnished and has a full bar with seating. The large hummus plate is huge but delicious. We also had the half order of lentil soup and mushroom soup. Both very good but very salty. The service was very minimally needed and yet we pre-tipped 20%. The employees were pleasant and the other plates coming out were massive (but looked amazing) so beware when ordering. read more

One of the bummers of moving back to Oklahoma was missing all the great food California had to offer. I absolutely love fresh Mediterranean food (especially Lebanese) and the best you can find in Norman is a gyro place that serves either gyro meat in a pita with fries or a plate with gyro meat and fries. I'm not kidding. Imagine my relief when I come here and there is a full menu of delightful dishes such Schwarma and rice and salads. I ordered the succulent chicken shawarma with hummus and my husband ordered the salmon bowl. The shawarma was disappointing. The lettuce was soggy and unappetizing, the chicken had several pieces that were grisly and far from succulent, not enough pickle, pita became soggy and messy, it was just not pleasant to eat at all. I wouldn't order that again. The hummus was super smooth and velvety, could use a bit of lemon and garlic, but overall was fine. The pita chips were nicely seasoned and quite addicting. The pita bread they bring to the table before the meal was the star of the show. So fluffy and delicious and they have the best olive oil I've ever tasted. My husband really enjoyed his salmon bowl. I thought it was a tad too fishy tasting, but I would definitely order maybe a steak bowl the next time I come. Definitely willing to try more menu items.
