after several days of abdomen pain, decided to come here for treatment. The doctor felt around my stomach/abdomen, did X-rays, told me he didn't see any blockages and if it gets worse to go to the hospital. Well Luckily I listen to my gut and immediately after leaving Medfast drove to viera hospital. Come to find out my appendix had been ruptured for several days. I've utilized this location several times and typically they are great. Yes the waits are long but this is understandable, especially in flu season. My issue this past visit was in regards to first, the office gal could be more friendly. People are obviously sick when they come in, please try some kindness. My main issue was that I made sure the staff and NP were aware of my allergies. Well, I was prescribed a medication that (after looking it up online myself) clearly states that the ADA instructs: do Not prescribe this med if allergic to penicillin as the side affects, anaphylaxis, hives etc are much much worse than the original allergy. Well. Shouldn't he have known this? I reiterated my allergy and even suggested Zpak. he insisted it was ok. Welp. Nope. It was NOT! I had horrific reactions. I am still covered in hives burning and itching. Please do some research when prescribed medication here. Otherwise, this is a great facility..just a couple issues this past visit. read more

Avoid this location (Medfast Urgent Care on Wickham) if you can. Just got seen here and was treated like I was an inconvenience. I was sent here because I had COVID "like" symptoms and could not be seen on the base. The nurse seemed to be in a rush, seemed annoyed by my questions and completed my COVID testing roughly. I have seen and taught medical personal how to COVID testing and this was aggressive. I had a nose bleed for a few minutes from how hard she was. The Nurse practitioner was pretty good which is why I gave this site 2 stars. I believe his diagnosis was pretty accurate and he provided good bedside manner. Go somewhere else if you can. read more

I get here and "checked-in" only to wait in the small waiting room for about an hour and a half to be seen. I'm typically a patient person, and knowing that their day wasn't exactly busy, made me want to leave this negative review. Do not make someone wait, regardless if they are in pain, having a medical issues, etc., for this long in a small lobby. It's simply unprofessional and lazy. People started pouring in after me and I can only imagine how long they would have to wait. The staff is okay but was very displeased with things being accomplished in a timely manner. There has to be a better resolution by having more doctors available, dealing with situations in a timely manner, etc. No excuse. read more

I had a very good experience with this location. Arrived on a Saturday morning concerned that I may have COVID. Was taken in as soon as they opened. The staff was friendly, fast and quite efficient. After getting swabbed I was negative for COVID and the PA asked exactly what was bothering me. I told him my symptoms, and we discovered I had strep throat. Prescribed the correct meds, and now 2 days later, I'm feeling so much better. The staff also did a follow-up call. I would go back. read more

You know they aren't paying attention when you go in with pink eye and they give you a prescription for EAR drops. Sadly, I did not notice until I had the very expensive prescription for ear drops filled, got home and started reading about the drops. Thank goodness I questioned rather than just using them as the nurse practitioner instructed! So I called the pharmacy, they checked the prescription and it was filled per the order, they offered to call the Urgent Care and get another prescription for the correct drug. When I didn't hear back after 2 hours I called the Urgent Care the man who answered the phone said "oh, yeah we know about that, it has been taken care of". Why didn't anyone call me? Why not check to see if I was okay? Why would anyone who claims to be a care giver not give a darn if I had been hurt by their error? Mistakes happen, it is how they are handled that makes a difference. These people don't care. The pharmacy did their job well, took back the unopened medicine even though it was not their error and filled the new prescription quickly. read more

Was quick to be given antibiotics each time. Most recent was prescribed incorrectly and had to go to ER. Called with questions and they didn't call back. Just brought my wife in for eye irritation, waited for an hour before they said they couldn't help and to go to ER. So in the end, just go to ER. read more

I was able to get in to see the doctor quickly. The staff was friendly and demonstrated an appropriate level of compassion. Physician on staff was able to address my concern quickly and even reviewed the X-ray with me to show me the areas reviewed. As a follow up, I was able to return later to pick up a copy of my X-ray results to take to a primary care doctor for continued care. Recommend this facility and will go back if the need arises. read more

It's so empty in here. I've been to this med fast a few times all great experiences. The wait time is usually less than it takes to fill out your paperwork. We came in at 10:30am with a sprained ankle, filled out paperwork and were taken into a room within the minute. (Really!) We sat in the room and the nurse was super friendly. She made some jokes, quickly took vitals and notes and said the doctor would be here shortly. Within another minute Dr. Peña MD came in the room and introduced himself, took a look at the ankle, moved it around, touched it a bit and said it was a ligament sprain, but he wanted X-rays to be safe. We talked about his daughters for a few minutes and then instantly went to take an X-ray. The X-ray took about 5 minutes. Then it was time to wait for the doctor to come back and see it. About 10 minutes later the doctor came back , confirmed that there was no breakage and we were happily in our way. We were out of there and back home by 11:05 am. read more

In all my years of travel I've never had to go to a dentist or doctor and this vacation I had to see both. The dentist prior to my cruise and the doctor after. I had developed an ear infection while on my cruise. I was to fly home directly after the cruise but when we disembarked I was still severely congested. I thought it best to see a doctor to see if it would be safe to fly. This clinic was conveniently located and on a Saturday midday not very busy. Nice spot and clean. Front desk reception was a bit indifferent but after filling out some forms and paying the $130 fee, it wasn't long before I was in an examining room. The nurse was very friendly and thorough with questions. Dr Pena was friendly and patiently answered all my questions. He advised that I not fly and provided the note required for insurance. If you're in need of a walk in clinic, I'd say this would be as good a choice as any. read more

I left crying, after waiting 40 minutes only to be handed another form to fill out. They are not considerate or compassionate towards their patient. We go there because we are sick. Why not implement a sign in sheet if you know you are training staff. It's pretty messed up to make your sick patients wait in line for 15 minutes. Then make them stand to check in with the secretary for another 15 minutes while I'm required to upload my insurance card and drivers license while the secretary making copies of the same cards. I m having to answer the same questions with her as I am on the app. It was very redundant. They explained that they are integrating a new system, I just don't understand what that new system has to do with wasting my time. I called and spoke to the manager about my complaints and was told that I need to be more patient. I thought I had been pretty patient up to that point, but I digress. I told her that I wanted to talk to her before i wrote my review. She did not give one f#@k about my complaint. Its always nice to feel like you've been heard, but I was made to feel completely irrelevant. I ended up at Premier Urgent Care. They were professional and efficient. I was in and out in less than an hour including the time it took for them to rule out COVID before I was seen by the doctor. When I told them I just walked out of MedFast, they were like "say no more". I would not go to this particular MedFast if you value your time. They are not all this bad, just for the record. read more

Great staff ! VERY helpful! I live in Rockledge and the Rockledge location has let me down EVERY TIME! My experience here was amazing and I'm so happy i chose it ! Marc was very helpful and kind and answered all of my questions politely and professionally and helped me to the fullest and LISTENED ! Latoya was very sweet with greeting me and also answering my questions and concerns . Very kind! And the woman at the front desk i didn't catch her name but she was VERY sweet and helpful as well! Came in on a day where their AC was out and the front staff alone would get 5 stars for kindness, organization, and communication. Sadly, I am leaving a 2 star review bc of the care I received from the NP Katlin Messick. After I paid to be seen (I went for an ear infection bc I was not able to get into my primary care doc for a week and an ear infection does not warrant a visit to the ED where they are extremely busy with ill patients...isn't that why Urgent Cares were created- to treat non emergent illnesses and injuries), she was in my room for about 3 minutes- did not look at my throat, barely spoke to me and said she was prescribing ear drops. I confirmed with her that she did not think I needed an antibiotic. When I picked up my script I was curious as to why she called me in the drops she did (no steroid in drops despite having swelling and inability to hear from that ear) and called Medfast. She told the front desk woman (who again, provided great patient care) to tell me, "If I don't like the drops I was prescribed, go to my PCP". As someone who works in healthcare, I was pretty disappointed in her response considering I let her know at the start of my visit, that I was unable to get in with my PCP. My advice to Ms. Messick is if you cannot handle communication with patients regarding an ear infection, this may not be the field for you. School doesn't teach bedside manner- and you have zero. I will be returning to this location but will call ahead of time to ensure I get a different provider. read more

So I broke my nose, as one does, and I went here. The doctor was all like "f*ck you" before evaluating the nose. Then he was like "idk if it's broken" and ended up putting scotch tape on my nose to fix it. The scotch tape fell off and I had to pay thirty dollars. read more

Buyer Beware! After paying $25 with insurance card, my insurance company would not pay Medfast so they sent me a bill for $263! I spent two minutes with the Doctor. My gum was swollen and I needed antibiotic prescription. He looked at my gums and wrote a prescription. Period. They overcharged the insurance company and when the insurance company didn't pay, they charged ME! They take full advantage of the emergency situation. Find another place when you need urgent care. read more

Best urgent care type clinic I've personally been to. The staff was helpful and empathetic, and the doctor that attended to me was friendly and relateable. For a quick emergency which is small for an emergency room, or too quick for my primary care physician to squeeze me in, I will continue to come to this medfast. read more

I had to use an urgent care clinic as my primary is not available on weekends. I saw reviews about Medfast Urgent Care Clinic and luckily there is a facility on US 1 in Rockledge. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist, check in was quick and she processed my insurance equally fast. Only waited 5 min after paperwork processed to be brought into the exam room. Again quick intake and vital signs were taken. Mr Roza-PA did my exam. He was competent and very informative. Got my prescription and was on my way in less than 15 min. I would definitely use this group/facility again in the future if needed. read more

Not sure who runs their facebook page, but I wrote a review on there about my dislike about service I had when I took my 2 year old there, and the comments they replied back with, were appalling. The first one asked where I went to medical school because I questioned them prescribing antibiotics for croup. (It's common knowledge that antibiotics do not help with viruses) Then when someone else commented on the review about how unprofessional they were being, Medfast wrote back, "you can't fix stupid." Word for word, that is what the person wrote. Totally unprofessional and inappropriate to respond to two customers that way. The person who wrote these rude comments needs to be fired. I used to have great experiences there, especially when Dr. White was the PA. Will NOT be returning. They deleted the review, of course, but I and other people, got screen shots of their responses. read more

Each of the staff I spoke with were rude and not friendly what so ever. They are also not caught up with all the current guidelines regarding COVID. I recently tested positive for COVID at another facility and since I had been having symptoms for over a week before I was even tested, they recommended I go get re-tested a week later. I went to this medfast to get my second test and the nurse was very rude and told me it was WAY too early to get re-tested and I have to isolate for 14 days after the day of my positive test. If you look up the new guidelines on the CDC website, they say you only have to isolate for 10 days after the onset of symptoms because after that point you are no longer contagious/infectious. I tried to tell her this and she completely ignored it and responded with "I am just telling you what the CDC told me yesterday!" Which again, is incorrect information based off the CDC website. She also told me that no facility in the area offers rapid tests, which is also incorrect. I went to Atlantis Urgent Care directly after visiting MedFast and received a rapid test (which was negative by the way). Lastly, regardless if I am positive or negative, the doctor always is supposed to come into the room to listen to my lungs and make sure I do not need further medical help. We waited at least 20 minutes for the doctor to come in, and he opened the door only to tell us we were free to go and that he didn't want to get too close to me. This is ridiculous in my opinion. You should know that you are going to be exposed to multiple different pathogens as a doctor and he was too scared to even step into the room. What if there was actually something wrong with my lungs and breathing? I would have never known because he was too scared to come near me. Do not go here. read more

I went to this office for a physical for work employment. The doctor was wonderful, the staff was wonderful. However, they stated via phone call AND in person at the reception desk that it would be a flat $81 dollars, yet I received a bill in the mail for another $49 for a total of $130. I hoped it was just billed incorrectly, but upon calling the billing office it says in their computer it was a physical. I didn't have any extra lab work or tests run. The billing office was polite and responsive and is submitting it for review, so if at some point they take the extra charge off then I will increase the number of stars for this review. However, I advise anyone thinking of going to this facility to be aware that the amount they bill you may not be the same price they communicate with you at the front desk. read more

My husband and I were informed we may have been exposed to the flu through a family member who tested positive. We went to urgent care because we were beginning to experience symptoms. This facility doesn't perform the flu testing correctly because we were tested and were 'negative'. We were diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection, my husband with laryngitis. 3 hours later we went to HRMC and tested positive for the flu virus and we were treated for symptoms. There was no MD present to oversee the nurse practitioner and the person was unable to prescribe the type of medication we needed. 310$ trip plus 80$ in prescriptions wasted. Proceeded to receive the run around from other office staff to even speak with someone in billing. As a person with a degree in medical insurance billing and coding, I know many people did the same thing we did just in that week. HRMC mentioned they had already done 35 flu tests just that night. How many people were incorrectly diagnosed and spread the flu around?? Office staff attempting to be rude and challenge me when we both had fevers and nasal drip.. yet we had ear infection and laryngitis? I think not. They are very happy to take your money, collect a paycheck and let you be sick on your way. read more
