We hired Maranatha stairs based on a recommendation to rebuild our stairs, which had become a literal hazard. We initially went with someone who said they knew how to build stairs, but ended up with stairs that each one was a different height and was not very secure. It was also done very sloppy with one of the treads not even long enough to cover the hole.. It took us a while to get Maranatha Stairs to come in, partially our fault and partially because they were so busy. We have owned our home in Brooklyn, for 20 years now and have had numerous renovation projects done. We have always had some sort of complaint or negative feedback, regardless of how small. Well, I don't think I can say always any longer. Maranatha came in and measured, showed me photos of some of their work, set my expectations of what they do and don't do, and what I may need to have repaired afterwards.. i.e. the wall that the stairs was connected to or the ceiling below the stairs.. they simply only do woodwork and rails.. not sheetrock or even not staining. They were very accommodating to ensure that the work was finished just right, that everything looked like it was finished professionally and with high quality workmanship. They also traveled daily all the way from their location to my home in Brooklyn for the length of the job. It took about 3 days for total project and exceeded our expectations. They did not damage the wall or the ceiling below.. they were careful enough to not need any repairs to anything else.. For stairs.. they are in a class of their own!

It's a fully stocked supply center and it's a recycling center as well. It's a little awkward the first time you go. The office is at one location and you pick up your supplies up the street. Here's the skinny: After you turn on Jacobstown-Cookstown Rd from 537 you'll pass a Herman's location on your left. That's your pickup location. Keep going. The office is up the street a little more. Go to the office and tell them what you want and pay for it. Take your receipt and drive over to the pickup location. Stop at the scale and tell the lady what you ordered. She'll tell you to park next to what you want and she sends the loader over. You get your scoop and go. Easy. The people are all super nice and considering the size of their operation their process is pretty simple. Unfortunately they are expensive, at least as far as their mulch prices go. This year the guy I use is $18/yard of black mulch and Herman's is $25. That adds up when you buy a lot of mulch like I do. (I use Herman's when I mulch at my parents house.) In all, if you need it, they got it, and they quote prices over the phone so you can calculate your costs ahead of time. They are super nice but you pay for the one stop shopping. The few times I came here I got good quality material and they didn't skimp on the scoop.

It is a wonderful find. There is no "atmosphere" whatsoever but what you get is excellent service at an excellent price. When patio pieces were delivered, one was cracked. The owner personally delivered it in time to be installed for my father in laws 94th birthday. The price was great and the service was excellent.
