Service: excellent and attentive service from Austin. Great friendly waiter. Ambiance: bright and inviting. Lots of space with tables comfortably placed. Food: 5 star! Delicious appetizers with a real Portuguese/Spanish flair. Clams with chorizo and beautiful yellow, orange red tomatoes were delicious. The Gambas Al ajillo were delicate. Not too much garlic and not oily. The broth was so good. I was disappointed that there was no bread to sop it up. They have a side of pita on the menu, but that is not what either of these two dishes needed. The duck a'la orange was crisp and portions generous -- the sauce did not smother it. Served with some nice roasted potatoes. The branzino had crispy skin and was served with a creamy risotto flavored with squid ink and some asparagus. The corvina was a generous piece of fish that melted in my mouth. It is a White Sea bass and while not as oily as Chilean sea bass it is similar, just lighter in flavor and texture. The fish was cooked perfectly and served over butter beans flavored with garlic and ginger. Nothing is over the top in garlic or spices here. The chef has a delicate hand and builds layers of flavor. Sublime, fresh and healthy sums it up. It really was a very pleasant dinner. Chef Michael is very gracious, funny and a pleasure to talk with. This is a new little gem in Royal Palm Plaza. read more

Most of the time in Florida, the food looks better than it tastes. At Medi Terra that is not the case. The food here looks nice and taste even better. I went with the special, lamb tagine, and I'm glad that I did. The lamb was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The cous cous was a bit dry but that was remedied when it was added to the tagine. The staff was attentive but not pushy. Overall a great experience. It wasn't cheap and it's definitely a special occasion kind of place, but I'll definitely be back. read more

I was really disappointed with Medi Terra and my food was mainly off and my friends were also less than thrilled with their food. It's really hard to get Tajine in South Florida and when I saw it on the menu I was happy - until I tried it and then my happiness faded. The Tajine had chicken that was dry and flavorless and that is something hard to accomplish with Tajine as the whole point of Tajine is to seal in the flavor and to make food (here chicken) tender. A side of Cous Cous was not very good. As implied in the name this restaurant features food from different Mediterranean countries but their take on Northern African food was a fail. Garlic Shrimp also was not good because the shrimp were of the small cheap variety and were not fresh and no type of cooking technique or coverup were going to make it taste good. A Steak was chewy and disappointing and other items we ordered for the table were lackluster and just didn't do it for us. Drinks were very good though and our service was very nice and the dining room though simple is classy and comfortable. We stumbled upon this place, and by far the best hidden gem of the trip of Boca. From the moment we walked in to the minute we left, the service and hospitality was amazing, attentive, and beyond welcoming. We were a table of 5 so we ordered a variety of tapas to share, by the captain Angelo's recommendation, and I'm so glad we did. This has become my new favorite restaurant! The food was all delicious! I highly recommend getting a bunch of the small plates to share with the table. I love the haloumi cheese, the octopus, paella, duck and the croquetas! The owner even came to the table to check on us during our meal, and the chef made a point to say good night! The sincerity of the staff made me feel so valued and cared for. They were genuinely happy I was there! Phenomenal wine selection, and very knowledgeable staff. Went with the wife to try something new and was completely blown away. Started with the Hummus which was delightful and moved right into garlic shrimp tapas and a pear salad. We wanted to lick the bowls clean it was that good. Entrees were a filet with bone marrow butter over a portabella mushroom cap and linguine clams. I can't even wait to go back and try something new. Sublime! We appreciated the very warm welcome at the door; attentive, knowledgeable and charming service (thank you, Austin); and - oh! - the delicious food! It was difficult to pick from all the great choices. The three of us shared a crudités and hummus platter and Serrano ham and manchego croquettes that were all delicately flavored and so tasty. The croquettes were balanced in flavor, creamy inside and very crispy and light. Presentation was also lovely. The hummus was amazing and the vegetables juicy and perfect. Cocktails and wine were fabulous (wonderful full bar and mixologist -- thanks Rose!). We had two fish dishes and the chicken tagine. We could not be happier. The depth of flavors, rich yet light at the same time, and unique touches were lovely. Compliments to the talented chef and team. We will be back! This is quality dining, an intriguing menu, delicious flavors and textures, in a simple and cozy atmosphere, and truly exemplary service. I was visiting but wish I could be a regular local! RUN DON'T WALK! Because once Medi Terra is truly discovered for its greatness you won't be able to get in! I chose Medi Terra for one of our last dinners in Boca after reviewing Yelp and seeing their gorgeous food photos online . We arrived and it was bustling on the outdoor patio. . Daniel greeted us and soon we were transported to another world. From our waiter to the sommelier Angelo we felt welcomed and genuinely taken care of . Then as our 6 tapas came out we knew we stumbled into a hidden GEM. Each entree looked so tempting we 3 could not decide , so we ordered one extra entree for the table ! And the desserts , which we inhaled before I could get a picture , come in special from Italy just for them. Chef Micheal is a true artisan chef . Each plate displays his love and attention to his craft. Father and son owners have relocated from NYC , NJ , to bring us years of their experience and commitment to excellence. My wife and I dined here when Medi Terra first opened and have eaten here several times since. The food is excellent, the service quite good and the atmosphere charming. The only bad thing is it is now hard to get a reservation. I tried to keep it quiet and failed! A few of the dishes I have tried are Paella, roasted duck, and their spaghettini carbonara ... all wonderful. Expect to see Chef in the dining room when things get quieter later in the evening. We walked past this place and looked at the menu, and were very intrigued by the tapas, za'atar, tagine, fish and duck on the menu. We decided to try it; best decision of the night. We had the duck, the tagine and the branzino; and Spanish clams, shepherd's salad and croquettes to start...everything was FANTASTIC. Rhe duck a la oronge was spectacular, i personally loved the tagine, The Chef Michael and Angelo and staff were a delight, lots of passion goes into the food. This restaurant is a must!!! The food is amazing and the service is even better. You feel like you are at home the minute you walk into the restaurant and get greeted by Daniel. I recommend the grilled octopus and hummus along with the filet mignon or loup de mer fillet for dinner. The fish comes with this incredible sauce that is to die for. Pleasantly surprised! My wife and I came across this place walking through Royal Palm Saturday evening. This use to be an Italian restaurant that was recently sold. The new owners, father(Chef) & Son(Front Manager)have remodeled to a more contemporary style which pairs perfectly with their menu. The menu is "western Mediterranean" think Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Morocco. Food was out of this world...we had the Octopus with Hummus and Spanish clams as appetizers...absolutely amazing! Second course we split the Carbonara...this dish was in both our opinions the best we've ever had. For entrees My wife had the halibut with ginger butter beans and I had the skirt steak with lemon baked potatoes. Both entrees perfectly prepared. For dessert we shared a chocolate cake...good but not as good as the rest. We will be back soon and we hope the new addition to Royal Palm will be another staple for food lovers....because it should be! This is a foodie's restaurant! We have eaten there twice, once for lunch and once for dinner, and both were excellent. Unlike the other "best" Boca area restaurants, the food is truly exceptional. We are new to Boca and have been enjoying checking out the local restaurant scene. Our dinner tonight was nothing short of fantastic from start to finish! I hate to let the secret out because this place is going to get crazy busy when word gets out about it, but I just can't keep it to myself. We were quickly greeted by the owner, Daniel, and seated at a table in the outdoor patio. Our server Angelo was so personable. Being of Portuguese descent I was thrilled to see Portuguese wine on the menu, tasted like home. And now the FOOD!!! Started with homemade hummus, delicious! We shared the pear salad, and then moved on to a couple of items from their tapas menu, the garlic shrimp and croquettes made with Serrano ham and manchego chesse. The sauce on the shrimp was divine and we dipped the bread from the hummus into it to sop up every last drop...YUM! For entrees my husband had the duck, which he said was the best he's ever had (and the man knows his duck!), and I had the corvina filet which was accompanied by caramelized carrots and fennel. It was beyond delicious. Dessert was ricotta pistachio torta which just melted in your mouth and was a heavenly way to close out the meal, along with a fabulous cappuccino prepared by Rosie the bartender, who was also just as sweet as can be. Daniel came and chatted with us briefly and we learned this restaurant has only been open since early November, after he and his father acquired it from the previous owners when it was an Italian place. We absolutely loved Medi Terra. The food was top notch and the service was awesome too. The only suggestion that I would make is for them to add a couple of basic family friendly options in the entree and appetizer sections. While we were fine with the choices, it's hard to imagine a family with children finding something to order. And certain things were overpriced. For example, the seafood paella, while very good, was a whopping $52 for a not very large bowl. Overall, we were pleased and will return. read more
