Shish Grill is vastly underrated on Yelp. It's a five star establishment. I've traveled extensively in the Middle East and it's one of the best and most authentic restaurants of it's type in the USA. Three of us had lunch today. Baba ganoush and pita were excellent. Falafel was one of the best I've had. Beef shawarma was excellent with fragrant spices. Dolmas and hummus fresh and really tasty. They even had a malt pomegranate soda I didn't think was imported into the US. It's a scratch kitchen, they make neatly everything in house and everything is gresh. Sadly, we didn't have room for desert, which looked very good. The staff were all from the Mid+East, our server from Damascus, Syria. This brought me back to the Syria I visited in 2008 which is sadly gone now. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music and ambiance reminded me of a cafe I visited in Damascus.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Well worth your time.

We had a good lunch here. They have options for build your own bowls and platters for lunch. Plus, they have their full dinner menu as well from which to choose. The location was familiar once we were there. The yelp directions had us go a convoluted way to get there winding our way through the back of the shopping center -- which it turns out actually faces Yamato Road. It seems we've been to this location before, but it was a different restaurant with a different menu. On entering, you pass a case with middle eastern pastries. They had my husband's favorite, kunefe, so we already knew what he was ordering for dessert. My husband had one of their bowls. It included a choice of base (he chose the rice with lentils), one protein (he chose the beef-lamb kafta kabob) and two sides (he had tabouli salad and babaghanoush). He said he really liked his lunch. I had one of their platters. It included a choice of base (I opted for lettuce; I could also have had half lettuce/half rice among others); two proteins (the kafta kabob and the chicken kabob); and two sides (grape leaves and hummus). Of the proteins, I liked the grilled chicken pieces better. The hummus was nice and creamy and a large portion with a few whole chickpeas on top. The two grape leaves were served warm, tightly rolled, and well-seasoned inside -- not just plain rice. I wound up taking a portion of my lunch home. After the entrees, we both had a taste of the kunefe. Bright orange shredded filo dough topped a chewy cheese middle that was served slightly warm. And we took most home for a midnight snack. We both said we'd be back. So many possible combos to mix and match for lunch. The prices were quite reasonable, and service was good, too. We did overhear that they may be offering a buffet lunch in the future. This would be good for the working folks who only have a limited time during the day to dine.

Great Restaurant. I love the quality of food . The freshness was great. The service was fine but this is not a 5 star restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was inviting and the soft music played in the background was relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Very comfortable restaurant to have a a quality meal at an affordable price.

Unstopped by on Saturday for lunch. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sat outside their patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was another person eating leisurely. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have Arabic music playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was good, but service non existent. They charge extra if you use a credit card.

My husband and I met friends here for dinner. It was our first time visiting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is delightful. I loved all the colorful lighting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was enjoyable and not too loud.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was not very personable and not he most attentive, but we did enjoy the food. We ordered a number of appetizers. We started with crunchy Fatet Hummus. This had a unique flavor, and we enjoyed it. We also ordered traditional Hummus, which I really liked. Our friends loved the Baba Ghanouge. I ordered the stuffed grape leaves, which were a little tough. I think I was used to Greek stuffed grape leaves, but they were good. I also liked the Kibbeh. It was fried in a crispy shell of cracked wheat, and the spices complemented the ground meat. For the main course, my husband ordered the lamb chops with fries and salad. He said the lamb chops were tender, cooked nicely and seasoned well. Our friend ordered the kebab skewers with rice and salad and said they were very good. My husband ordered the Turkish coffee. He said it was a nice change of pace from his usual cappuccino. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the service.

SO GOOD!!! probably my favorite lebanese food in Boca, everything was so fresh and so delicious, very well seasoned and cooked! My favorite was the mixed grill, I got to try a little bit of everything, so delicious!!

Placed a $400 catering order. The meat was so dry one person almost choked. It was a special occasion and I placed the order with the manager. They also forgot all the sauces and I had to send my husband back to get them 30 minutes round trip. The offered to "take care" of me another time but no thank you. I won't be back.

I've been here a total of two times and both times the experience has been phenomenal and the food has been delicious. If I can give them more than five stars, I would.

Very good menu, and the food is well prepared. There's some pastries for sale at the cash register. Try the Kunafa!

Despite the lack of a/c and rough conditions they were in, the staff were super friendly behind the counter. My husband and I orders some delicious subs on fresh sesame seed bread. They're super generous filling up their subs and the ingredients are fresh and top notch. As a pescatarian, my options are more limited, but my caprese sandwich was fabulous. We also ordered a cannoli which they hand fill. It was the best cannoli I have had in South Florida and tasted like the ones I used to enjoy from the North End in Boston. Finally a great cannoli! Due to the power issue, it was a little dark inside. However, this is a true, lived in authentic Italian deli. Again, if you're from up North, you will feel like you are at home here. V&S is the real deal, and very much worthy of all the rave reviews people have shared with me.

It transports you to an Italian NY deli. The place is packed, bustling spot and that alone tells you everything you need to know. You know it's good when you walk in and the place is packed. We split the Chicken Cutlet Florentine and it was absolutely incredible. Heads up: the full size is massive, so splitting it is definitely the move and still totally worth it!! The service was super friendly despite how busy it was. I had my eye on the black & white cookie too because what's an authentic Italian deli without one? Sounds like my next visit to Boca includes trying more stuff!

Laspada had a lit up sign in the window saying they're "open." I seem to recall Next Door Boca giving them decent reviews. I am a native of Philly, hometown of the hoagie. I thought I'd give this place a try. I ran from my car through the rain and tugged on the door....locked. The door hours say open at 11! So much for the lit "open" sign. They have outdoor metal tables and chairs under an awning. I sat at an outdoor table for ten minutes. I looked through the storefront window at a couple employees prepping and I read the wall menu. A guy unlocked the place at 11. I let a young family and several other guys go ahead of me. Guy at the slicing wheel waited on me. I ordered a small Mama Lastrada turkey & salami on wheat. There's about a half dozen employees behind the counter dealing with the assembly line of customers and sandwiches. Guy at the slicing wheel tells me one of the other guys will work on my sandwich. Okay. However, I can't move down the line because there's customers still lined up ahead of me waiting for their food. Slicing wheel guy looks up at me a minute later and asks what he can get for me. I look back at him waiting for him to recognize me from a minute ago when he already had sliced my order. No recognition! I repeated my order to him. Now he remembers me! He again refers me to one of his junior sandwich prep guys. I overheard him telling a busy junior guy, "This is just a small Mama on wheat" or something like that. Still, I can't go down the line because there's guy ahead of me had placed an order for 3 sandwiches. I swear to you that the slicing wheel guy asks me for a THIRD time for my order! By this time, I felt like I was in a Monty Python sketch. I repeated my order. Again, he refers me to a third junior associate (Manny, Moe, and Jack)? Finally, a young associate asked me for toppings. I had noticed two lettuce bins. One bin looked fine. The other looked a little brown. I decided to skip the lettuce rather than ask him to pick from the left hand bin and embarrass them. I also saw a black speck in the onion bin. It probably was nothing but I decided to skip onions just to be safe. I chose tomatoes, Swiss cheese, pickles and sweet peppers. The debit card reader asks if I want to tip. I skipped that. Price was reasonable. Hoagie was okay. The roll was soggy. Philly hoagie shops pride themselves on their rolls. I understand this is Florida, not Philly. I can appreciate this place is popular and busy. However, being asked for my order 3 times by the same experienced worker there left me feeling less than special as a customer.

FIVE STARS. GAS STATION? YES. GAS STATION? ALSO YES…read more Let's get something straight. Some of the best food on earth comes from places that look like you shouldn't trust them. Gas stations. Side streets. Tiny counters with three tables and a refrigerator humming in the corner. I saw WhatSub on Yelp and thought, "Alright. Let's see if the hype survives State Road 7." It didn't just survive. It flexed. I am fully on board with five-star gas station cuisine. In fact, I seek it out. And WhatSub doesn't just play the game -- it competes internationally. This place comes dangerously close to Sandwich Master in Turin, Italy. I'm not exaggerating. And it narrowly beats out Generoso's in Coral Springs, which is not an easy feat. The bread? Legit. The meats? Layered like someone actually respects the architecture of a sandwich. The balance? No soggy mess. No overkill. No amateur hour. And then the cannoli. Freshly piped. Not pre-filled. Not sitting there getting sad and humid. Fresh. Filled to order. Shell still crisp. Ricotta smooth and balanced -- not overly sweet, not grainy, not lazy. Best cannoli I've had in South Florida since Lorenzo's in North Miami Beach. That's not a casual comparison. That's a statement. Now let's talk atmosphere. It's technically in a gas station plaza -- and yet the owners and staff are actually speaking Italian behind the counter. Not performative. Not touristy. Just normal conversation like you accidentally stepped into a deli in Torino. It feels real. So real that I went back the next day. And then again. I am not joking. When I ask myself, "What was my favorite thing?" the answer is dangerous: Everything I ordered. Cold subs. Hot subs. Cannoli. Repeat. This is the kind of place you almost don't want to write about because once the word spreads, lines get longer and secrets disappear. But credit where credit is due. WhatSub is proof that greatness doesn't need chandeliers. Sometimes it just needs good bread, proper technique, and someone who actually cares.

Came here because I saw it was a new Italian sub shop near my area. Saw good reviews and wanted to…read moretry it myself. Behind the counter was a husband/wife duo who were the business owners (didn't get their names) who stated they were from Sicily. After much deliberation, I decided to order the Arthur Ave and the Milano. The Arthur Ave is a cold sandwich that had prosciutto, arugula, stracciatella, sun dried tomato. You have a choice of bread from white, wheat rolls, and focaccia. I was informed by the husband the focaccia is made fresh daily by his wife so of course I had to try that. The wife was nice enough to let me try a sample of the prosciutto and I have to say -- it was delicious, so getting it on a sandwich was going to be a no-brainer. The Milano was for my father. Watching them make the sandwich, they put two huge pieces of chicken cutlet, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and freshly sliced mozzarella. Again, I got the focaccia bread. Both sandwich's were drizzled on the top of the focaccia bread with fresh Italian olive oil which was just the cherry on top. I had told the owners it was my first time and we had a great conversation, that they were nice enough to give me and my parents 3 free mini cannolis -- which was completely unexpected and highly appreciated! As far as the food goes, I don't have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to describe how delicious this sandwich was. From the delicious meats, the fresh veggies, and my personal favorite part -- that focaccia bread. I would buy that alone. They had specials on their menu the day I went that was a not on their menu -- a meatball sub and arancini balls. Also, keep in mind, that this shop is inside the Mobil gas station on 441 and SW 18th. There is a sign on the outside of the gas station, but if you're driving by and unsure of the location, I can confirm it is inside the Mobil. Overall, a great experience; delicious food, great people behind the counter. Only caveat I would say is it is a little bit higher price for a sandwich, but with the current economy where a McDonalds burger is over 10 bucks, you truly get what you pay for and that is top quality, fresh and delicious food. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.
