    A decadent dessert

We stopped into Selini Mediterranean for lunch and somehow turned it into a small family like style feast. There were three of us, but apparently we ordered for a table of people coming later. We split the Beet, Feta and Orange Salad, the fried zucchini, and the Selini Spreads, which were excellent and way more filling than we expected. We also had the mini lamb gyros and the grilled branzino with a side of lemon potatoes. Everything was fresh tasty, and really well prepared. The service was fantastic, and Charlie took great care of us. Attentive without hovering, which is always the sweet spot. By the end of the meal, we were completely stuffed, which of course meant we still had to look at the dessert menu. We let Charlie pick our dessert which was a smart move. We managed to split the Baklava-Misu, which is a dangerous and borderline irresponsible combination of baklava and tiramisu. Best word to describe it "decadent". Whoever came up with that dessert should probably be monitored, but also applauded. Great lunch, great service, and a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back, assuming we recover from the Baklava-Misu.

Fantastic new place on W. Atlantic in Delray Beach. Three of us sat at the bar and had the best experience talking with the owner and enjoying wonderful dishes and drinks. Top of my list for finest restaurants.

The espresso martini was good as was the Point Break, with tequila and guava juice, very nice, very tropical. Avalon Beach House used to be Avalon Steak & Seafood House. The first time I went in 2022, I remember it being more of a traditional steakhouse. The Ave has grown significantly around it over the years, but it's still one of the staple restaurants in a central location. Overall, it was great meal with good service and nice atmosphere. It's sill one of the gems. We started with the wedge salad and cheesy bread. We wanted to get the Filet Mignon and the Prime Cut Ribeye to share them, but they were out of the Filet which was a bit surprising. Instead, we got the Crispy Chicken Piccata. They were both excellent. The fingerlings and asparagus were good and loved the red wine sauce. The crispy chicken was not too heavy, with lemon and an ample arugula salad. I don't remember the name of desert, but it was a combo of a browny with an Oreo cookie layer (which the kid in me couldn't refuse) with a scoop vanilla ice cream. It was great.

A special shout-out to the first DJ of the day, who absolutely set the tone for the event. The music selection was excellent, with a great mix that appealed to both the younger crowd and the adults. He kept the energy up without it being overwhelming and created a fun, upbeat atmosphere that everyone enjoyed. The venue offered a great balance of entertainment, food, drinks, and social space, making it a perfect location for a celebration with guests of all ages. We were sat at a table near the bar which was great as it was inside and had a nice breeze with the fans and AC. Damien was our server and was wonderful at explaining the menu and the concept of their scratch kitchen. For our drinks we tried the classic and guava-habanero margaritas. We ended up liking the classic more just because the fresh ingredients were reminiscent of those we had in Mexico. It was a little too warm out to be doubling down on spice in our drinks too. We ordered a brisket quesadilla and for our tacos: carnitas, chorizo, and crispy fish. For our second round (not pictured), my husband tried the spicy chicken. He was warned the spicy chicken is exceptionally spicy but he didn't think that warning was warranted so maybe don't be afraid to try it if you're not big on spice. We had tap water that they left a large bottle on the table for. Even though we didn't drink too much of it, they still replaced it with a fresh bottle after a while since it probably got warm. One staff member even came to wipe up the water that had sweat off our drinks. Overall, El Camino exceeded our expectations. All of the staff was kind and courteous and the food was off the chart. And those happy hour prices are hard to beat! We definitely will be back!

The Jalapeno Cheddar Smash Burger was huge and juicy with just a hint of peppery heat - definitely surprised by the flavor combination of the cherry pepper jam and bacon.
