I only have my wi-fi about 26 days of the month. Today is yet another day in which I am without wi-fi. I cannot tell you how frustrating it is to rely on quality and consistent service only to come home and find that it is not. I actually do not have wi-fi in my entire home. We have called them several times to see if we could get internet for our son for school. They keep giving us the run around. We tell the the street next to us has Mediacom why can't our street get it as well. The wire stops at the top of our street and they will not come down our street so about eight of our houses could get our kids Internet. I feel like they don't give a damn about our kids and their schooling and don't want our business obviously. read more

nice of them to offer a bait and switch. you get free installation if you order online but you cant because the site just keeps blanking out and giving you a phone number to finish the order. the person you took so long to get to then just says you only get free installation if you order online. so forget the free installation. the twenty dollar a month package supposedly available on the internet with free installation is really about three hundred bucks to start and seventy a month. i sure miss the old days when free installation wasn't just a ruse! read more

Probably the worst service I have ever had, both in service and customer service. I have called once a week for the last month and the end result is always the same "we have to put in a new work ticket" MIND you I have had the same problem since the day the equipment was installed. I asked specifically if there was on demand (I don't really watch live TV) they assured my bundle included it. I am supposed to have all the channels, and yet, on demand doesn't work. At all. I have had the same error message since day 1. I have done all the steps they instruct over the phone, and they always end up with "there is nothing more I can do on my end we have to put in a work ticket and someone will call you" and no one ever calls. They were super quick to take my money. Not so quick on giving me what I paid for. The internet is decent, however it cuts out a lot and the signal range isn't very good. WiFi doesn't reach some of our bedrooms. read more

Never use Mediacom. They can take an appointment but NOT keep the appointment. I took 2 hours off of work to meet for installation. They never showed up & then rescheduled for the next day for a 4 hour window for install. No apologies or excuse for not showing up. This they feel okay first time shoddy treatment with treating a long time customers this way. They do not try to remedy the problem but only make it worse & think that is okay. read more

Mediacom sent out a repairman, Christopher, on Sunday morning, his day off (Sept. 30, 2018) and he arrived within the time frame promised and fixed our problem by installing a new modem. Terrible internet service. Lags beyond belief. Theres at least 10 secs before it even acknowledges a device timing it out. Then it lags very slowly loading pages in sections like dial up. Called customer service to get the wifi password changed and the rep took 20 mins to do nothing. Literally nothing. I would have changed it myself in 2 mins had my computer not been down. He kept saying he did it but alas it never worked. How do these people even manage to have a business? I mean Comcast slaughters them and even hotspot Internet or 4g service is faster than this. Save your money and headache, get a hotspot or Comcast. These guys are ripping people off for terrible all around service, as well as terrible lack of customer support or even half wits who run the call center. Hopefully these guys just run themselves into the ground making way for a REAL ISP. read more

I called to set up new services was told I would have DVR services which did not happen it took them a month to have a technician come out called to install just to find out I dont have DVR but I should have know by the email I received about my equipment then I got transferred 3 times just to have them tell me if I want DVR I have to upgrade and they want to charge me more for installation because they didnt send me the correct equipment in the first place. Well since this is a month to month I think I will start looking for another provider. Custer service with them suck. This is not even worth 1 star. read more

Run away! 100 mbps internet isnt even 25! Dealt with continual dropoffs & disconnects but had no alternative til last month.Even our tech said our system was completely erratic & needed complete replacement. In the midst they raised our bill $5 mo. When I quit they said Im terminating early from "verbal contract". In fact I was given " no contract" internet & had overpaid them for extra month. They owed me! Now, a month after they finally agreed they owe me, I get a bill for a month of service even though I havent had their service in a month. Shady crooks. Bad service. Stay away! got this because they were having a special. My mom 93 has no internet and i need it when i'm at her house . well i forgot to pay the bill which is my fault so the turned it off. Called to pay the bill paid it. They wanted me to wait 8 days to get it turned on again and charge me $79 a month. this company is cheating its customers out of their hard earned money,and charging people for things they wont clearly explain to the customer, i was told after they installed a internet modem in my house that already had their cable service, that i cant have two separate services installed in the same location so they disconnected the internet service and charged me for the service. but they claimed to have sent me a letter telling me they disconnected it, but the letter never came. i feel cheated out of money i should not have had to pay if i was not getting the service to begin with. i am not the only one with question's about their bill, this is wrong what they have been getting away with for all these years,and it needs to stop!!!!! read more

This is the worst internet/phone/tv service on the planet. There staff is rude on the phone and there outages are frequent and long in duration. In my area this is currently the only internet provider however metro net is installing there service and should be up in a matter of a couple of months I will be changing ASAP. read more

We had Mediacom for several years. When we finally moved on to our current GREAT service provider, we had to give Mediacom our new address for our final bill. That was a BIG mistake! That was over FIVE years ago, and we are STILL getting flyers no less than weekly, which go straight into the recycle bin. Over five years we have received about THREE HUNDRED unwanted pieces of junk mail from Mediacom, and they will NOT stop sending them. I've chatted online, and I've made calls. I've been put on their 'no more mail' lists. Nothing works. I Googled my problem and found dozens of other complaints just like mine. Once you go with Mediacom, you will be harassed for eternity with junk mail. What a mistake! read more

I terminated Mediacom service when i moved to a street where Mediacom informed me that i would have to spend "more than five thousand dollars" to get cable internet service. I paid off and closed the account, returned the equipment and secured satellite internet service from a different provider and "land-line" phone service for my new home. Meanwhile, Mediacom (a New Jersey corp.) kept running the bill for nine months until it went into collections. Not one courtesy call, email, text or other attempt to contact me. After 7 years as a customer and never once late on a single bill, i'm ticked off! Mediacom has always proven to be a half-assed, greedy "NooJoizee" outfit, but this latest B.S. has got me wondering if this is just a scam where they sell fake "debt" to an agency, then run interference till the victims give up, meanwhile they show new "income" to their investors. Absolutely horrible customer service. Dont hold appointments but are quick and willing to payments! My apt was for 1 - 5 pm. I called at 4:30. The woman told me the tech made a note that he tried to call me at 4:09 pm. I asked her why because i havnt seen him come up the road. She put me on hold for 9 min and than hung up on me. I called back right away and got a different woman. She said she spoke to the tech dispatch and the tech went home already so we will have to reschedule. I took off work to sit for 4 hours for this ahole to just go home early because he wanted to. Now i have to wait until wednesday. Awesome. Take off more work for them to decide to hook my phone and interent back up or not. Oh and they said they will only credit me $20 for a no show of the tech. Only after i mentioned i have cameras and he didnt not show up. I was on the phone with them before my appointment time was even over and they still said there is nothing they could have done. The worst service ever!! We had nothing but problems with our TV, Phone & Internet service even there service department that had to come out almost every month for years told me it was because the lines were so old & needed to replaced but they would not do it, we finally switched to Dish with the exception of our Internet we have NO other options in our area! This really sucks I pay for the fastest package they have and it gives me an off and on signal and it slow as hell!! Then when we have vacationers up we have NO signal due to the extra draw and with that our Home security system does not work!!! WTH So tell you what if one of us gets robbed we will be suing this Company!!! read more
