If you've ever wanted to eat roasted chicken with your hands while cheering for a knight on horseback, this is your place. We had a great time! The whole experience is cheesy in the best possible way, and if you're willing to embrace the fantasy, it's a blast for both kids and adults. The food was honestly better than expected. It's not gourmet, but the chicken was juicy, well-seasoned, and surprisingly high quality. Everything was served hot, and we left full. We went to the 4:30 p.m. Friday show, and even though the arena wasn't very full, the cast and horses gave 100%. They performed like it was a sold-out crowd, which made the experience even better. Here's my vegan review of medieval times. There is plenty of food but the quality is just okay. First course is a tomato soup, which is fine. The next course was hummus (very small scoop) and veggies. This is the best part so I wish there would have been more hummus!! Next is a stew, very very similar to the tomato soup with rice and beans and other veggies. It's okay and came with hot sauce. Next was corn on the cob which was yummy, and for dessert I got the choice of fruit or Italian ice. I chose Italian ice and it was good! (More of a popsicle but I appreciated the 2 options.) OMG this place was amazing! Much better than I thought it was going to be. We came here to celebrate my sons and my grandson's birthdays. I splurged and got the v I p package and the knighting ceremony for my son and grandson.They absolutely loved it. My husband and I are both vegans and they had vegan options. Amazing! They brought us hummus with vegetables, a tomato bisque soup and we got an amazingly delicious vegetable stew. Yummy! The rest of the family got the standard fare of roast chicken, corn on the cob and potatoes and we all got eclairs for dessert. Our server was prompt friendly and so much fun. We love this show and dinner when we are in town. The chicken is yummy and moist, the rest of the meal is delicious!! They go all out with the castle ambiance and characters. There are suits of armor, a king and queen, and plenty of royal treatment!!! This time we brought our daughter, son in law and our three granddaughters. The oldest one is 7 and she LOVED it!!! Wow what a show. It was more than I expected and they fed us so well. I asked for the vegetarian option and I don't think Ive ever been so stuffed. There was tomato soup, hummus with celery and carrots, a baked potato, and bean stew. Meat eaters enjoyed a chicken leg quarters in place of the stew. The meal ended with an eclair. My husband and I went here on our Anniversary trip. If you don't like loud crowds and someone saying Hear ye, Hear Ye make way for whoever stay away. For us it was enjoyable. The food was great, our server Kortney Schwartz was amazing, very friendly, great personality. General Admission is around $74 for adults, little pricey but the show is good. Horses were beautiful. The Falcon was probably the best part. The girl that did the horse dance I think it was Olivia, I think it was just to fill time because it kept going and going. Some of the knight fights you could tell they were waiting for a kick or punch or throw, but overall experience was great! Only negative is price. It's pricey even with discounts / coupons (make sure you find one, and don't pay full price; you can get like $20-30 off per ticket). Wife and I attended while on our vacation to Surfside. Pros: -this is much more aimed at a younger demographic. If you have kids, they would absolutely love it. -the food was actually pretty good. Roasted chicken, half a baked potato, a small cob of corn, a piece of garlic bread, tomato soup, and a cream puff for dessert. The chicken was delicious. -our server, Ruby, was very sweet and tried her best to make the experience more lively. Cons: -if you have a family, it will cost you a mint. Tickets are expensive to begin with, plus EVERYTHING is an additional charge. It will rack up FAST!! -seating is extremely tight. If you have someone with mobility issues, at all, they may have problems getting seated. The chairs sat down behind a 1-2 foot cement drop off...and you had nowhere to move chairs or anything to hold onto to get down there. Just be careful. A larger person is not going to have an easy time getting to a chair. -the food was very obviously frozen options that were just heated up. The corn, bread, potato, and crème puff were straight from the freezer section at your local grocery store. You get what you get and you won't get any more. It is a preset menu. All the food is served gang style out of a big tub or off a sheet pan. Drink options with the meal are very limited as well. -the show was actually fairly mundane. The acts were average, nothing that was too amazing. -seating upgrades are not worth it. Just get the general admission and save yourself the money. The "arena" is small enough that no seat is very far away. You'll be able to see everything just fine from wherever. Getting seated "early" was not that great of an advantage either. Overall, did we enjoy it? Yes. Is it something that we are dying to do again. No. We actually enjoyed the Pirates dinner show last year much more. read more

Waited many moons to go here and it was worth the wait. The food is fine. Costco style rotisserie chicken, corn on the cob, a bisque and a potato thing. All good but not going to be prepared on Iron Chef. If you're there for the food, you missed the point. Now the gift shoppe is good, expensive like Disney World but again, you gotta expect that. Then we made it to the spectacle. The dining hall is an arena of sand where chaos ensues. If you like horses, they do some horse stuff. A little dressage and other things that horses do. The knights are awesome. Go into this like it's WWE. My family and the random family next to us were totally yelling and going crazy for our knight. The food is surprisingly good (chicken is very tasty and dessert apple pie was amazing) and of course you famously eat with your hands. The castle itself is really cool inside. There's a lot of decor, drinks, and things to look at while you wait so I recommend going early to explore. There's also a dungeon exhibit that you have to pay for; I would not recommend this as it's not really worth the money, but is fine if you really get bored waiting to enter the arena. If you're the type of person who can't handle wrestling because it's scripted, I'd skip this, but otherwise, Medieval Times is a fun (and pricey) way to spend an evening out. To start off, our service was top notch. Ramsay the bartender was lovely, and Jillian the server was so friendly and fun. The food was pretty good -- nothing fancy, but good for what it is; I could have had a gallon of the tomato soup, and the toast is yummy, too. The entrees -- vegetarian and regular -- were good, although the stew lacked a bit of seasoning. The dessert eclair is a bit underwhelming, and the "upgraded" cake option is like a "cake mix in a pan" style, which I personally like a lot but could see others getting let down by. The entertainment is cheesy, yeah, but lots of fun, especially as every performer we saw was SUPER into it. The knights did everything to amp up the small-ish crowd (we went in the offseason) and really made it feel worth going. I'm not an equestrian expert, so I'll just say the horses are beautiful, and I hope they get lots of love and treats. The show changes periodically, and we look forward to going again. If you want to get lost in random and have a really different/fun date night, this could be it. I came here in the 90's when I was a kid and don't really remember a lot of it. If you're like me (in your 30's without kids) this can be a blast (sidenote-the whole experience is catered to family/kids), but there's fun to be had for younger couples. I won't talk a lot about the show because if you're looking to come here based on reviews I don't want to spoil what goes on. If you're an animal lover you will love the show. I loved the horsemanship, the talent of the animals, the acting, and the light-heartedness of everything. If you go in with a "not-serious" mentality and get into it you'll have a blast. Everyone is separated based on colors and that's who you root for during the tournament/dinner. It's engaging because the knight that is your color interacts with your section and pumps you up. Again, if you almost treat this like a "sports game" where you root for a team, it's a fun time. Food! The food was surprisingly good. I think a lot of people assume this is going to be a 5 star meal, but that's missing the point. Honestly, that was what I was worried about the most because I do remember some of it from being a kid. Everything was hot and comes out at a good pace. The standouts were the tomato soup and potato's. Also, the chicken had a cajun flavor that was really good. The cake you get with the upgraded ticket tasted pretty good after eating a savory meal with your hands. The cake reminded me of being a kid again in a fun way. Also, the service was excellent. Alright 30 year olds- there is a bar where you can get beer, cocktails, and wine. They have really good commemorative cups/glasses/steins for your drinks which I think is worth the price jump. I had "The Executioner" drink and enjoyed it. Is it worth it? I believe so. I'm going to admit, it is pricey (if you had a family of four I think it would be expensive) but we had a Groupon deal and we made a minivacation around it. Drinks were expensive but hey - drinks are expensive everywhere. As a 32 year old without any children I loved it and it was the most fun I've had on a date in a while. It's different and unexpected. Been here three times in the past decade and it's always amazing. Food and show is amazing! Everything you buy you will have to tip. You tip on literally everything. I didn't use the bathroom but I'm sure you have to tip for that too lol I had to tip when I was buying my Viking horn cup then had to tip to refill it then tip to get a second drink for my fiancé then tip after tipping on cashapp to the serving wench. My husband and I were in Myrtle Beach celebrating our 14th anniversary. For a treat we thought it would be fun to try to this place. He said he had always wanted to try something like this but hadn't gotten a chance before. We bought our tickets online in advance. They do fill up so you might want to look if you are hoping to go on a specific date. There was a $10 off coupon on the website recently so maybe take a peek for that. We got the royalty package because we wanted to be sure to have good seats. Though honestly after arriving I dont think there would have been a bad seat. With the royalty package we got a framed picture and also got to be in the front row and near the center. The castle was very cool. We did arrive 30 minutes before the start time and that seemed to be a good time. We arrived before a good chunk of the crowd. The feast menu is laid out online so you can look at what they are having. They do have gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. For gluten free and vegan, they gave a plate of hummus and vegetables for starter course. For main course they brought out a really big bowl of bean soup. It was very good and very filling. (for vegetarians you could also get the roasted potato and corn on cob). Desert was a italian ice (or fruit - which happened to be out the night we were there). You could get soda, lemonade, or water to drink. And of course if you wanted to pay extra you could get alcoholic beverages. It was VERY filling! The story line was fun. Although my husband really struggled to hear it (so hence the 4 star). We really enjoyed our experience and were happy that we checked this out. After talking about going to Medieval Times for years, we finally made it happen. It's expensive but you get dinner and a show so it evens out price wise. It was fun and I'd recommend going once for the experience, especially if your children (like mine) love all things medieval. 1st tip - check Retailmenot for coupons. The Medieval Times website had a 15% off coupon code but Retailmenot had a 25% off code. 2nd tip: upgrade to VIP. Because we got 25% off, we did the $15 VIP upgrade and still saved some money from the full price. With the VIP upgrade, we got VIP lanyards, better seats (middle of the oval ring vs ends), and got to enter before general admission. The higher levels of upgrades gets you a photo souvenir but we didn't want that so stuck with the lowest level and it was perfect. It was a lot of fun and the staff is all amazing. Everyone was so friendly and pleasant. I was impressed. Our server Jayden did a great job considering she had to serve dozens of guests quickly and carry huge trays of food. The servers really hustle - the kitchens are not near all the seats so they have to walk quite a bit - so make sure to tip them appropriately. They recommend $5-10 per person in your party, so we did $10 per person, but if you can afford more, go with more. They deserve it. The show was fun. Jousting, horse tricks, sword fights. Occasionally it was hard to understand what the announcer and king and queen were saying (it's very loud in there so beware if you have kids or adults with hearing sensitivity), and trying to watch a show and follow along while eating and being served multiple courses was a bit distracting, but it was still enjoyable. The chicken (which they call baby dragon) was the highlight of the meal - very juicy. We were also served tomato soup (dragon's blood), corn on the cob, garlic bread, potato wedge and a chocolate eclairs for dessert. There are no utensils - you eat with your hands. Fun for kids, but as an adult, I wanted a knife and fork so I brought my own thanks to having read a previous Yelp review. Drink choices are limited to Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, lemonade or water. I was surprised they didn't offer iced tea. I would have liked that option. They do offer coffee and hot tea with the dessert. You can get alcoholic drinks at the bars before you enter the arena, or order them at your seat - a bar server will come around multiple times. The bar menu lists the drink options but no prices which I don't like. I believe in transparency and want to know how much they cost before I order, so we did not get a bar drink as a result. The "feast" consisted of tomato soup, garlic toast, a roasted 1/2 chicken, half a seasoned baked potato, half a buttered corn on the cob, soft drinks, and an eclair for dessert. The potato was well seasoned but very dry, as was the over-baked garlic toast. The eclair was a bit frozen in the middle. But overall, the food was fine and the service was very good. Our serving "wenches" worked hard and ran back and forth serving the meal in an organized fashion. The whole 2-hour dinner show moves quickly and like a fairly well-oiled machine. The team told the group we were with that a bar tender would be around to take their drink order. We had paid for the Royalty package, and a bar tender didn't come to our row until 1.5 hours into the show which in my mind is unacceptable. When then ordered drinks arrived, the person delivering the drinks forgot where the drinks were supposed to go. He literally walked around our row, wouldn't listen to us- walked back to the bar area to receive confirmation where the order went, and came back with the drinks to deliver. So weird. What a great overall experience! We had a large group of 21 family and friends to celebrate my wife's birthday as a surprise. Some of our party had been to one of these before but for many of us it was a first time, and we were not disappointed. From the first inquiry I made to Raelene in group sales to the time we left at the end of the evening the experience was phenomenal. Raelene was very professional as well as extremely friendly when we discussed on multiple calls, all of the options available and we were able to arrive at a price that gave us a special experience as well as affordable for everyone attending. Do not hesitate to give her a call! The food was much better than I had expected given a large group environment and everyone in our party enjoyed the food and plenty of it. The soup, chicken potato and corn were all hot when delivered and very flavorful. The server and the service was fantastic. One of our party was a vegetarian and she said that her hummus meal was fantastic. Then there was the show which was spectacular. The horses were majestic and the bird was amazing. The competitions were fun and there was much cheering, and booing done throughout the theater. Edge of your seat jousting and cheering for your knight. I will say that it is very hard to hear and understand everything that is said during the show but that was fine. My wife did a knighting ceremony at the end of the evening that was very special as well. The kids, and the adults all enjoyed the show and did not stop talking about it all night. While I loved the show and atmosphere, the food was not great for me (which I'm not surprised there's a ton of people!). Tomato soup had a hint of blue cheese?? Chicken seasoning was delicious but the breast was dry. Cake was okay but ice cream was weird, not your typical sweet ice cream. Overall I'd definitely go again with kids or maybe even check out the similar shows they have that are different themed. The last time I went to Medieval Times was for a 6th grade field trip and I remember it being this magical wonderland where knights still roamed the earth. After going recently I almost wish I didn't. It wasn't horrible but nothing of how I remembered it a half a life ago. The food was okay but they give you a ton, I ended up wasting half. A hour in, I was starting to wonder how they could possibly draw this out for another hour. I'm still not sure how they did. I have not even attended the show yet; however, I'll leave a preliminary review before stepping foot on the property. I am attending a show on April 4. My expectations aren't set high. I am treating my family, from Upstate NY, to an experience they could never attain from where they live. My brother and sister-in-law are bringing my parents on a 'big' family vacation with their five- and three- year old children. I purchased the ticketed 'Celebration' experience for the kids and for the chance to have the grandparents see the smiles and enjoy the laughter of the grandkids. I am certain the dinner is not Michelin-rated and do not expect it to be. I am also certain that the staff will probably be fed-up with Spring-Breakers and might be a bit perturbed. All things considered, I am sure that the experience will be fantastic just because of the family time we will share, the entertainment that will be served, and the vittles and accoutrements that the kids will enjoy.
