Great food. Love that the have indoor and outdoor seating! We opted for outside enclosed with gear lamps so we could still enjoy the ambiance of the Night of a Thousand Candles. The specialty cocktails were tasty! We did enjoy a nice Adult Hot Cocoa and Grinch themed mimosa. The Caesar salad and shrimp and grits were equally delicious. Service was nice and pretty quick considering the crowd they had. We will be back when visiting Brookgreen Gardens!

I get so excited whenever we go to Brookgreen Gardens because I know we are going to eat at Austin's Harvest. First we took again the Brookgreen 101 tour. Especially about the Spanish Moss. So informative. Then off to Austin's. Our waitress appeared out of thin air. He got the soup and salad. I got the Mahi Mahi with vegetables. His side salad was huge. My fish was okay. It was the first time I ever got Mahi Mahi. Would I come back here? You betcha!! If you see me there, stop by and say hello.

Came with my corvette club to the gardens and stopped in here for lunch. They were super busy, but seated us in 5 minutes. I had the southern dip. It was plentiful and fried super yummy. Two of my friends only had carrot cake and key lime pie. Josh was our waiter and was awesome! Iced tea was nice and strong and plenty of refills. Food came out pretty quick for as busy ad they were. You can dine in or outdoors, we chose in as it was hella hot and humid today. Would come again.

Excellent food, from the appetizers (hushpuppies, fried green tomatoes, angry mac & cheese w shrimp) to the entrees (chicken penne pasta, shrimp, etc). Excellent service. Great atmosphere and view outside. Perfect.

i love the way it feels inside with all the windows. Great ambiance. The service was spot on. The food was good and the carrot cake was amazing!

The food was excellent! Both cobb and ceaser salads were excellent! Kids loved their burgers. Their chips and fried okra were great! The outdoor patio in rain is so romantic. Server on one table was very attentive but the other one was not. Overall great choice.

Fried jumbo shrimp with peach Cole slaw and fries

First of all we were greeted with a welcoming smile and a pleasant southern greeting. Secondly, the weather was as in our favor for outdoor dining. We found the perfect seat and within a few minutes our waitress greeted us with a welcoming and friendly personality. Since we were first time visitors we solicited her advice on food choices. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and freely offered thoughts on food choices which helped us make our selections. I ordered the fried grouper sandwich with fries and my guest ordered jumbo fried shrimp with fries and peach slaw. Both our meals were so delicious. It was my first time trying grouper fish and I was impressed. The jumbo shrimp was fried perfectly and was crunchy and juicy. To add to our great meal, the ambiance was superb. The restaurant sits at the edge of the garden and offers a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful plants and draping live oak allee trees. An added attraction was the intimacy of the squirrels and cardinals dropping in to eat with us.

Reservations were booked but we walked in and they were able to seat us. Very lucky considering it was a light night at the Brookgreen Gardens. Food and service was great!

Dine in | Lunch | $20-30 Beautiful setting but this restaurant definitely lacks creativity. The menu and food could definitely be better thought out and executed. Service is almost consistently awful. My family and I have been here on several occasions as there isn't much of a choice at Brookgreen if you plan on staying in the park. EVERY time, we are rushed out and made to feel uncomfortable. We feel as if we are bothering the staff by requesting to sit and eat. Y'all, we have three children and they sat us, got our order, shared an appetizer, had our entrees and they grabbed our plates back all within 30 MINUTES!! We had our last experience with Cece as our server. She demanded our order before our butts hit the seat! This last experience made me regret coming to Brookgreen at all! She told us they ran out of the dessert that was the special for the day and as we left we saw another table getting that dessert brought to their table. Also, before we could even get up from the table , we were swarmed by 4 or 5 people clearing the table. !!! It was madness. Y'all, my girls were very well behaved! I really wish they consider reevaluating their staff's service etiquette as this place ruins the beautiful experience Brookgreen could be.

Turkey sandwich with with cranberry mayo and smoked gouda. And hushpuppies. Really good hushpuppies.

A lovely day in a beautiful spot with delicious food. Super combination. We had made reservations and were promptly seated. Our server, Sarah, was charming and helpful. Our group ordered salads and sandwiches, fried oysters and fried green tomatoes and thoroughly enjoyed them. I HAD to have the Hushpuppies and omg they were the best: great flavor; correct doneness and had corn niblets in the batter! My sandwich was turkey, lettuce, and smoked gouda with cranberry mayonnaise and it was excellent. We ate outside under the patio awning-perfect. There was a cardinal that would actually light on the chairs waiting for a morsel. Wonderful blend of dining and nature. The prices were reasonable and portions were large!

Notable mentions were the escargot & fried scallops. DEFINITELY request bread because it's so fluffy and good. I went for the grouper special which was honestly the most unimpressive thing at the table and relatively bland. We tried a variety of steak from the New York strip, the dry aged ribeye, and the filet. They were all fine, but nothing superb. The BEST entree at the table was the elk tenderloin. It basically melted in your mouth. The table tried 3 different old fashions and were impressed with all of them. The wine list is EXTENSIVE and I didn't feel as though our server really helped sift through it or make recommendations so we went with the first red we saw and it was decent. Now the desserts may have just been the star of the show. From the pistachio ice cream to the dark chocolate creme brûlée... I'd go back just to sit at the bar for a drink and dessert! Overall the entrees missed expectations but I enjoyed the apps & dessert!

Both the pulled pork and pastrami sandwiches were on point. If you up for something spicy, try the jalapeño baked beans. Loved em! We had banana pudding for dessert and if I were to make a single negative comment would be the mason jar serving vessel for the pudding. While certainly nostalgic for a BBQ place, I couldn't reach all the nooks with my spoon to get all the last bits of delicious pudding out. But don't worry, will be back for another helping. Very cool spot and I bet it's great when there is live music and during bike week. Thanks again to all.

Marilyn brought me coffee and Bev Tea. It was plenty hot and fresh. I absolutely love their coffee. I had two cups before I even finished my plate of food. Marilyn was very attentive to each table and came to ours often. After I finished my salad. I saw Carie filling a plate for someone. Only after they finished was I finally able to check in. When I gave them my name, I was met with nothing but attitude. I asked if I could be seated outside, but the hostess ignored my request and seated me inside instead. I also asked for the parking validation code and was told that my waiter would provide it. When the waiter finally came to the table, he didn't introduce himself and seemed very rushed. When I asked for the parking code, he gave it to me without saying much else. I ordered the fish of the day sandwich, which was a huge disappointment. The piece of fish was so small it didn't even cover the entire roll, and it had no flavor at all. Charging $19 for that sandwich was a complete waste of money. When the waiter asked if I wanted dessert, I replied that I don't eat desserts. His response was, "Well, I have to ask," and then he simply walked away. After bringing the check, there was no "thank you for coming" or "hope to see you again." The entire staff acted like they were unhappy to be there, and it showed in every interaction. I will never be back, and I can't recommend this place to anyone.

Let's try the good first. We arrived and we're seated immediately, but was also arrived just before 5pm, and it was already packed. Not surprised as it is the peak of the summer season. Our server was pleasant and attentive, and in my opinion, that was pretty much the extent of the " good". The "OK". - the food was just that, ok. The cobia had no real seasoning on it, if it weren't for the butter sauce, it would have had zero flavor. The fries are obviously from frozen and cooked until very crispy, almost hard. The mac and cheese sampled from my wife's plate also tasted like a mass produced, frozen deal. She said the scallops were good, and the shrimp I sampled were decent. My son enjoyed his fish and fries, but he's 6. The "bad"...since I'm using those words. It's loud, and got louder around 5:45. No surprise though, it's called a saloon and the reviews clearly say it's loud. Be prepared. Parking. I guess if you can find a spot on site, you're good, but the pay lots across the street are $20 for 2 hours...the least you can get. And again, something I failed to read, researcher whatever, but the pictures of all the 4 legged friends that have crossed the rainbow bridge that adorn the walls, it was, to me, a bit of a buzz kill. I quite frankly never realized it's concept was to honor actual dead dogs. My bad. We've been, and I honestly don't expect well go back, at least not for a while. I'll give it another shot, but in an area like this, there are always new places to try, ones that have been open for 30 years, and ones that have been open for 30 days. It's important to make a good first impression to generate return business.
