I was feeling super hungry for lunch so we decided to grab a big meal somewhere nearby. This place is located in a pretty big plaza in Kirkland so there's lots of parking. Sometimes it gets busy and spots fill up fast so you may have to drive around for a bit, but the lot is big so it shouldn't be a huge issue. The interior of this place feels a bit smaller and not super spacious, but there's still enough room to move around comfortably and a good amount of tables and seats (inside and outside). We ordered the chicken shawarma plate, gyro plate, and a half order of MK fries. All of their dishes have super generous portions so it's a good bang for your buck. And it's all really good and tasty. Each dish we had was packed with flavor and seasoned and cooked perfectly. I did ask for extra sauce on the fries so if you like to make sure every fry is coated with sauce then I would suggest to request that. The service here is good. They're not super friendly or anything, but they're not disrespectful or rude either. Nothing really stands out but they get the job done and work pretty efficiently. read more

My friend suggested this place for lunch and I was glad to try out. We got there before the crowd started thankfully. It got busy at lunch rush and many people started lining up. We ordered chicken shawarma plate, Gyro salad and a side of pita. The staff gave me two vegetable soup and a number which they would deliver the food to your table later. I was impressed by how generous of the portion of one dish here and delicious of course. The service was efficient too. We ended up taking the leftovers home. Before you continue reading, no, I do not recommend coming here. Im surprised to see how good the rating is, and that was mainly why it attracted me to visit in the first place. Sure the customer service was good and that was the only reason for my two star rating. I rarely ever, if not the first time to give out a two star rating. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate along with a falafel salad plate. I was first impressed with the food presentation and the portion was more than enough for two people. Or was it the taste that stopped us from continuing on? Cant say. (Ha!) overall, the shawarma plate was very greasy and the chicken was dry. This is the "fast food joint" version of the Mediterranean Kitchen in Bellevue. There are a lot more options on the menu. Each entree comes with soup, salad and pita bread and is priced at around $10. The garlic dip that's served with pita in Bellevue is $0.75 here. The quantity is not as much (Lunch price @ Bellevue is better than the fixed price @ Kirkland) but the food tastes as good as the parent restaurant, though the rice can be improved a notch to meet the Bellevue standards. We ordered Spanakopita and Veggie Schwarma. The Spanakopita came with just one filo dough pastry, but was as yum as ever. The Veggie Schwarma is something new and is fantabulistic. It has probably replaced the Spanakopita as my #1 vegetarian dish here. The service was good too. We were given an extra bowl of soup and some extra pita breads. The ambience is not the dimly lit - candle on each table kinda one. Nothing romantic about this place. But that is all you can expect from a fast food version of the place, with a few tables. BTW, there's no splitting charge here ;) Bottom line - the same fantastic food, served real fast, but in a not-so-nice ambience, at lower prices. Works for me:) read more

When I have the chance to get away from school for the ever-so-rare lunch date, I want to go somewhere really good. I can find that good meal here! Not a huge space and it's crowded during the lunch rush, but this second visit I was eating with a co-worker and we came in around 12:45. The big lunch rush had subsided and we got a seat after ordering our lunch at the counter. Friendly welcome and quick delivery of our food. I again got the vegetarian combo: spanakopita, grape leaves, hummus & pita, falafel, and rice. What a filling veggie plate and quite satisfying! The worst place I ever bought food from, the shawarma plate was full of onions barley any meet, the rice is under cooked and the hummus is all over the plate over powering any meet taste, apowas not happy and decided not to ever go eat in this place neither recommend it to anyone. My previous review was mostly about the service/atmosphere which is null since Covid, so I can only comment on the food, which is still yum, but not as much. Portion sizes have decreased, at least for the few dishes that I've gotten lately, and my beloved chicken salad, well, it just pales in comparison to what it used to be. 3.5 is the perfect rating for this one. Food is good, huge portions. Lentil soup is quite comforting in chilly winters. I liked the chicken shawarma the best out of all the items. The chicken in Dajaj mishwi was a little rubbery for my taste. The best thing I liked about this place was the red spice in the small glass bottles. It gave all the entrees and soup a little bit of heat and tanginess. Will I comeback ? Probably after trying a few more middle eastern places. read more

I knew this place had high ratings so was excited to check it out - so after shelling out $17 bucks or so for lamb shawarma, I was excited. Been going here for well over a decade. The food has been consistently top tier and the staff has always been friendly since I've been a customer in all this time. If you like strong robust flavors and a great variety of different dishes, this place is awesome. I love Mediterranean food and there's a list of various places I love to hit up to enjoy, all of them adding their own excellent take on, but this place is at the top of my list. Great job guys! These guys are great! Each time we stop in to pick up an order, we're always about 7 or so in LINE, with so many others to be frequenting this place as well!! Great shawarma, kabobs Gyros and many other classic offerings. We ALWAYS get the Baba ghanoush with fresh Nan, and it's delicious. Just the right smokiness and very fresh tasting. A bit dark inside, but pretty good amount of seats. Typically see most in line like me for a quick pick up. These guys are currently signed up with Uber Eats as well, which we'd utilized last week during all things going on in the world right now. This used to be my favorite fast food type of place in the Kirkland area and I have been coming here for years but it changes a ton over the past year - food portion is getting smaller and smaller over time. I used to not be able to finish my plate but now I remain hungry after I finish my plate - I typically get the chicken shawarma plate cause it's full of flavor, recently it's been plain and missing the overwhelming veggies they used to add - staff isn't helpful at all and they have "the customer is always wrong" mentality. If you try to ask a question or complain, then they ask you for your receipt and examine it carefully before they even think about how to resolve the issue. Today I paid $0.75 for extra garlic sauce, it didn't come with the meal. When I asked the woman who brought out the food, she asked to see my receipt and read it carefully for a couple of mins before bringing out the sauce. Then she went to the cashier and complained about me in Spanish. WTF! read more

Extremely disappointing for a 4 star rated place. Our meals came with a bag of store bought pita bread and everything was served over short grain rice that tasted like boxed Mexican rice instead of the flavorful long grain rice usually associated with Mediterranean dishes. The mezza appetizer with hummus/baba kanouj/labnie/zahra was pretty good - if we had only eaten that then maybe it would have been a 3 star (even with the grocery store pita bread since that was still decent). Everything else was food court fast food quality at best though and the rice really killed it. It was filling (especially with the large bed of subpar rice) but if you're expecting quality Mediterranean food, this is a pass. read more

Ok. This place is phenomenal. We come here often. I usually get the Algerian chicken platter ( I usually end up taking leftovers for lunch next day). It comes with their Lentil soup and pita bread- this soup is perfect and gives me LIFE. My family and I split a large MK fry (get it loaded you won't regret it). My daughter usually gets the pita wrap and today I got it as well. Fresh, delicious with crunchy fresh cucumbers and crispy bright lettuce- yummo! My husband always gets the Kafta Kabob plate- I have had it and it is well spiced (but not spicy- delicious). They have some chili oil if you like it spicy- I do and let me tell you IT AINT NO JOKE FOLKS! I love it though and just dip the tines of my fork through it to give my rice a spicy kick- that is plenty! Everyone is nice and the service is quick and efficient. Came here on a weekday around noon for lunch, menu is on the board and a bit difficult to read from afar. Ordered the kabob combo and beef shawarma, which came out to be around $37 post-tax. Asked for no plastic bags / utensils (since they're only doing take-out and for environmental reasons, I don't want a bag and I carry around my own utensils). Dining indoors available, just no service which is fine. Sat down and waited for food which came out in less than 10 minutes. Piping hot food, really flavorful. Kabobs were a bit over-charred and chicken was dry, the other two meats were good though, really liked the grilled onions. Beef was super flavorful and juicy, really enjoyed that dish. Had both plates with salad instead of rice, which was a good choice. Came with hummus, lentil soup, pita, which were all delicious but the pita was a bit flat. Big portions and really tasty, would highly recommend the beef shawarma (would've given this place 5 stars if I only got the beef shawarma and not the kabob plate). read more

We've lived in town for 2.5 years and have been regular customers, visiting weekly at a minimum. The service has always been...curt, but the food was good so we kept coming back. We also order delivery from here all the time. My daughter has severe egg allergies and this is one of three places we can eat at safely (Chipotle and Veggie Grill are the other). Today we came in with a party of 6, including our two small children. We were celebrating a special event and had my in-laws along with us. The tables sit four people and half of the approximately eight tables in the restaurant were empty. None of the empty tables were next to each other. I explained we had a larger party and asked if they could help us slide two tables together so we could eat together. The answer: "No, we can't do that. So do you want to go or...what?" As far as strip mall food should be, this restaurant should be up there with the places you should try and buy, and eat list. Yes, strip mall food can be good, and it's no wonder that people order from the place in droves, as witnessed firsthand. The moment you walk in, you know it's going to be good, when you have people filling seats eating their food, and a line of takeout orders. What's on the menu, are classic items you would find on a Mediterranean menu in an American strip mall, which is not to say, a bad thing... instead you should be pretty satisfied with the goodness that is derived on this menu. Shawarma and Gyros are featured, but you'll find other neat treats too, including salads, and a wealth of great tasting sides. The flavors are strong, if so if you are sensitive to any specific seasonings, then you should keep that in mind. The lamb plate has a strong Turmeric, so if that's a problem, the chicken might be a better bet. If you are looking for something for takeout, you might just see yourself here, because it's pretty delicious fare here, and worth the trip if you are not too far away. Extremely disappointed. When went to pick up my meal I was asked if I wanted the tahini sauce on the side. That was new to me but since she ask, I said sure.
