These should not be in business! The prices are like in China Town but the food is what those guys would throw in the garbage after 3 days. It looks disgusting and it tastes worse! FOOD POISONING ALERT!!! I have been sick for two days now. Now when I say sick I mean real sick. I cant see straight, have a fever, headache, and I'm constantly running to the bathroom at least once an hour... I went here before a party around 7pm on a Saturday night. We used to get delivery from this place when I was a Bridgewater resident and it was never a problem. The waiter was nice the service was good, bathroom not so nice, but for the most part a typical Chinese food place. I got chicken and shrimp with mixed veggies and my girlfriend got sesame chicken, we shared a bowl of white rice. My food tasted good, her's was terrible the chicken was all dark meat and very fatty but after what was about to happen to me I now wish I got the sesame chicken even though it resembled ligaments from the feet of a chicken deep fried. The only other thing I ate that she didn't was the pineapple chunks they brought over after we were done eating. I will never eat there again and I prolly wont eat Chinese food for a few months this was a terrible experience and I am still going threw it now almost two days later :( Stay away from this place! read more

I have been looking for a good Chinese place in the area and this is the second place that has failed :( The food wasn't bad, necessarily, but it didn't have any taste. I wanted a good general gau's and what I got didn't have any flavor at all. It was delivered cold and all had to be reheated. Same for the chicken fingers and cab Rangoon- not bad but no taste. While waiting on delivery i read through most of these reviews.... We ordered a combo plate that had General Gou chicken and white rice and chicken teriyaki. All was good, there was A TON of rice, 2 chicken teriyakis and a decent amount of chicken. The General Gou chicken was kinda soggy but that could be attributed to the styrofoam container it came. 3/10 Side note: the combo plate was boxed in a styrofoam container and the side of house rice was box in a plastic container. I think the General Gou chicken would of been WAYYYYY better if that was boxed in the plastic container. House rice was good, there was some weird grey colored meat I assumed was dark meat chicken, i don't eat dark meat chicken so i picked it out and ate everything else. 6/10. The boneless spareribs were good. A solid 8/10. We got three cups of duck sauce and 1 cup of spicy mustard. And rolls, they looked like mini hamburger rolls. 10/10. Can't mess up pre packaged bread. I would order again if it was super late and i was starving, they deliver until 1:15am. read more

Ordered General Gau's (TSO's) chicken dinner platter for delivery, was pretty good. This was the "larger" of their portions which I would say is the only negative, as it wasn't the biggest plate of Gau's I've had. Good Chinese and quick delivery. Will order again soon read more

Mee King Garden or "Meh" King Garden was a rather bizarre dining experience. Some good, some not so good. The "service" was not really service but service when available. We were seated after a few minute wait. The waiter came over and gave us menus and took our drink order of two Zombies that were depicted in fun Tiki mugs with garnishing. What arrived was two bright red drinks in pint beer glasses with no garnishing or ice with indeterminate ingredients. It didn't taste like a Tiki drink and was very weak with no rum taste at all. These were base, janky, and a bummer. It took a long time for a waiter to come by and had to be hunted down. He was very friendly but was the only waiter there juggling take-out orders. We next ordered 'goons, Hawaiian Shrimp, and the Seafood Delight. The 'goons were good. The Hawaiian Shrimp was most unusual. A good amount of shrimp with pineapple and walnuts all slathered in a mental amount of mayonnaise and condensed milk. Weird. But it worked in a strange and gross way but was something I doubt was at all Hawaiian or any culture other than redneck. The Seafood Delight had several big chunks of lobster tail with a few small scallops and no shrimp even though it allegedly included them. We got a Scorpion Bowl which was very strong and yumski (see PICs). We also had hot tea which was decent. We had some leftovers which were taken home DIY style whereby we loaded the containers. This place is terrible. We got a number of different apps and main courses for take out (about $90 worth of food). The food overall was bland and flavorless. General Tso chicken was mushy and sitting in a thin liquid that made the batter soggy and falling off the chicken. Take out would not honor a 10% off coupon that we got in a recent mailer. I can't say it was good or bad....I mean it was very greasy. Some people think thats good...but I consider it bad. Also, I can't say it was fresh because for 3 people the food was brought out in under 4 minutes....it also did not taste fresh. I've ordered takeout about 10 times from Mee King, & have never had issues. Recently moved to Bridgewater & use to order from China Town, which is kinda far to go to now. So I was glad to find Mee King...it's nearby and honestly everything I order comes out just like China Town's food! We usually get pork fried rice, chicken lo Mein & orange chicken. Everytime the food has been hot, cooked perfectly & service has been good. I know mistakes can happen sometimes especially with restaurants/food shops, but have to say I'm surprised by a lot of these bad reviews! read more

If 0 stars was an option this would get it. I cannot remember another meal where I have been so grossed out. The general gao's chicken was mostly a gummy filling with a few stray pieces of fatty chicken. The sauce was equally terrible. The rest of the meal was barely edible. Sad place. The food is so good but the service is awful. When you ask for tea and they treat you like you're inconveniencing them. I would just get take out. Don't bother with the headache. Horrible! Would give 0 stars if possible...Spent $60.00 on a family meal and had to throw it ALL away! It tasted like it went bad and it was cold. Beef Teriyaki tasted and smelled rancid. Most of us got stomach aches after eating a few bites. This was my second bad experience and last time there! Giant pupu platters keep the stomach and wallet full. The mixed drinks are a good mix of boozy an delicious. One of my favorites by far.

The place is good if you want booze poured down your goblet. The food, however, is extremely sub-par. Overcharged on two different occasions, messed up the bill on another. Pretty much the par to measure Bridgewater area Chinese takeout places by. The have a full bar and good hours (though everything closes way earlier than it used to in Bridgewater say 5 years ago. Service is usually fast. Combination specials are the best deal. Crab rangoons are the best in the area. Pork fried rice is best (freshest) when ordered during the busy times. Egg rolls are good but my personal favorite is Deng's Garden egg roll. A great place for junk food and booze loaded Polynesian cocktails. read more

Was recommended by a friend, i've tried several Chinese take aways around Bridgewater but found that most of them are Thai rather than Chinese, however i think Mee King is more American Chinese, so good news there. Small bar as you walk in in front of you with a small lounge adjacent, to the right is the dining room, possibly 30-40 covers total. Tried the chicken curry and had them add pineapple to it, turned out really good, also had the vegetable fried rice, also very good. Sweet and sour chicken was tasty, great sweet and sour sauce, sticky and sweet with a few chunks of pineapple thrown in for good measure, chicken fingers were standard, as always a little too much batter and not enough chicken, but after saying that they were pretty good. Boneless spare ribs were juicy and full of flavor, as were the beef teriyaki skewers. Service at take out was friendly and efficient, prices were reasonable, will be back for sure. read more

Best Chinese food in bridgewater and surrounding! The place is rather small, so I tend to get take out, but I have eaten there and have had just as good of an experience. Only down fall sometimes was a language barrier with the wait staff, but not bad at all and definitely tolerable : ) read more

My wife hates this place, caters to the college crowd but then is hurting for the rest of the year, she is not even tempted to use coupons for freebies. Frozen food not sure if anything is made fresh, doesn't seem to be. Worst service ever. I ordered take out on Friday and tipped a $3 tip on a $13 dollar order and they're delivery driver decided to add a 2 to make his tip 23$. Not sure why people love this place so much. Chinese food in the area is lacking so maybe that is why. Food is always very dry and over cooked. Had orange chicken the other night and couldn't cut into it....because it was all BONE! Only giving it two stars because it is fast. But I think it's only fast because they pre cook and reheat, at least that would explain why all of the food is dry, tough and over cooked. read more

My Kids and I frequent this restaurant several times a month, both for take out and delivery. The delivery feature is a big draw for me if I don't feel like going out. The food, no matter what we've ordered, is always hot, fresh, and in more than Generous portions. I have always had leftovers to nibble on later. Sat at the bar once and ordered a captains and diet and an appetizer. Had the bartender dilute the drink for fear I wouldn't be able to drive home, it was way too strong to be enjoyable. After what happened tonight I will never order here again. We order a General Gau's and a Number 10, but when it came to the door the order was wrong; they placed two Number 10 orders instead. In addition, they did not send the two cokes we ordered either. So we asked if we could just get the chicken and the two cokes, they said no. We asked if we could just get the chicken, the two cokes and pay the difference, they still said no! They eventually sent the cokes but no chicken. He insisted it was a matter of policy, that they could not just send the chicken without placing and paying for a new order of General Gau's Chicken. Worst mistake ever. I've been there twice, and each time I ended up sick. Face in the porcelain, wishing I had gone to another place. The first time was at the actual restaurant, very dark. You can barely read what is on the menu's because the lighting is so bad. I saw our waiter maybe 4 times the whole time, and flagging someone down for the check was a nightmare. I ended up getting sick, and not going for months. The second time, I ordered for delivery, and didn't order anything I had, had the first night. It came with a huge container of duck sauce we asked them not to give us, it was chunky and had spilled all over most of the food. I thought I had food poisoning that's how badly sick I was. Been going here for over 20 years. Every restaurant has its ups and downs but thankfully Mee King has had more ups than downs. The staff are very friendly and service has always been prompt.
