Beijing Dumpling has everyone on Yelp yelping about their amazing homemade dumplings. I can confirm that the dumplings are it. So tasty, we almost ordered seconds. You get a lot of them for your money too. We got an order of fried pork dumplings. The texture was great, the dumplings had a generous amount of filling which tasted like good quality ingredients, very flavorful. These aren't regular frozen dumplings from Hmart. We also shared an order of Singapore Mei fun. That was also very delicious, it's my favorite noodle dish & I usually order it everywhere I go to compare recipes. Their Singapore Mei fun was sooooo good & therefore, I highly recommend them. Not to greasy & the perfect amount of spice! You have to like spice if you're going to try the noodles because it's a spicy curry they use in the dish. The service was prompt & the lady who served us was very nice. We're definitely adding this to our list of places to try again when leaving Massachusetts. read more

This place is run by a friendly Chinese family. The dining room is on the small side but they did have a large Chinese type banquet table when we went. The dumplings are made fresh and they are delicious. All of the dishes here are pretty much close to authentic Chinese. The portions are a bit smaller and rice doesn't always come with the meals (bummer when we ordered take out...... how can a Chinese person eat their "soong" without any rice?!???!??). I think this is the only Chinese place in the Westerly area that serves chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce. That's one of my all time faves. And along with Golden Chopstix this place has Ho Fun (broad flat noodles). That's some real Chinese comfort food right there!!!! There are so many things that I want to try here... the duck dishes, the crispy pork, fried tofu salmon... but we only eat out w a week... and like i said in my other reviews, I have my go-to Chinese food place that I'm loyal to! Just finished takeout from here. Actually, most of it went into the trash. The Mixed Vegetable meal tasted soggy, semi warm, and mostly like celery. The only recognizable vegetable was broccoli, and there were only four small pieces. The rest were clear white squares, and two pieces of carrot. Also, they "forgot" to put the rice in with my meal "because they got too busy". The woman on the phone actually laughed when I told her I was missing half of my meal. The General Tso's chicken- what a joke. There were eight over cooked pieces of chicken over a giant pile of dull fried rice. The vegetable dumplings might have saved the meal, but they were barely filled and mostly dough. Never again. read more

I have been driving past this place for months as I have been working up at the Hospital. Finally caught the sign DUMPLINGS, and headed in. I have always heard about these mysterious things called "Dumplings" but have never had the opportunity to try fresh ones myself. I know...I lead a sheltered life...but I prefer Vietnamese or Thai when I am looking for Asian type food. As stated in previous posts, the Husband and Wife team are learning their English, but are VERY nice. I would give them a 5 stars for customer service. This is why. I went in and explained to the wife that I have never had dumplings, so if possible, I would like to try a combo of all of the dumplings. She immediatly called for her husband so I could explain it again. Once we panned out that I did not want 12 dozen of each variety, but 3 of each to equal a dozen...we were golden. He was more than happy to do this for me! Now, I am not sure if they want to get in the habit of doing this...BUT, it never hurts to ask! They should actually put a Dumpling sampler on the menu... So, I found out that my favorite dumpling is the Pan fried Pork and vegetables. The dumpling is lightly fried on one side, but then still soft and steamed on the other. Delicious! A close second will go to the Chicken dumpling, followed by the pork. I did like the vegetable one, but I think it would be a little better if the veggies were slightly steamed...but what do I know. Anyway...I will probably stop here again on my visits to Westerly Hospital...I will have a hard time passing this place up! read more

My friend and I were here last night for dinner. I think the people working were the owners and their son. They were all very friendly. The food was good. Super love the dumplings and the sauce that comes with it. I tried the pork and vegetable. I also got the beef and mixed veg. I like that they put celery in it and do not put in water chestnuts. My friend liked her garlic chicken but she would have liked it to be a tad hotter. This place is also BYOB so that is awesome. The only downside is there was no music at all so it lacks atmosphere. We were the only ones in there so there was no real noise other than the owners talking. I stopped in again recently for a carry out. I ordered beef with broccoli and they gave me chicken instead. This is why you do not have 2 completely different dinners under the same combo number. The fried rice was bland too. Maybe I will just stick with what I got last time. read more

Where do I even begin with Beijing dumpling, let's just say that I genuinely compare all other dumplings to the ones they serve here. The restaurant itself is not one that you go to for ambience. It's a hole In the wall type place so don't expect a five star experience. That being said I don't need a five star experience to genuinely enjoy a meal so for me the ambience at Beijing dumpling is just what I need. I go there for the food and the food alone. I recommend getting the pork dumplings one order fried and one order steamed for your first tasting so you can easily decide which you like more. Clearly the dumplings are the stars here - perfectly fried and with a delicious filling, whether pork, chicken or veggie, with a thin wonton cover that is light and elegant, served with a dipping sauce that nicely balances salty and sweet. Five stars for the dumplings. That said we were less impressed with the other dishes we ordered. The scallion pancake was a bit oily and lacked a little punch from the scallions, not bad but not great either. The hot and sour soup looked beautiful, but was a little off to my taste. One possibility is the type of chilies they are using for heat - I asked the waitress (owner?) to bring me some hot oil and instead she brought a vinegar based chili sauce. I detected the same sauce in the hot and sour soup and I think the dish suffered for it. We also ordered some mixed Chinese vegetables in a brown sauce which was just ok. The place it self is tiny, but with nice new tables and chairs it is certainly more elegant than your typical Chinese strip mall place. All in all, the dumplings were just good enough to pull the overall rating up to four stars but just barely. Certainly the dumplings are good enough to justify stopping by, but I'm not sure where to go from there. read more

I put up a short review about 9 years back, and didn't figure out what they did well at that time. I have eaten here many times since. The real gem here is the dumplings (no surprise). The pork dumplings are my favorite, but they are all good. Very few places make their own, and even fewer make them this well. The menu is pretty much standard Chinese takeout. The food is always hot and fresh. I like the crispy pork, general tso tofu, Lo mein, and orange chicken.
