As we were trying to do that, the horses suddenly became startled and took off. Because we had been focused on taking the photo, our hands were no longer fully on the reins, and no one was prepared for the horses to start running. Within seconds everyone fell off even though we tried to pull back the horses still didn't stop! My sister suffered many injuries, including 3 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a broken ulna and scapula . It was heartbreaking to witness my sister in such pain. After the accident, we were told that emergency help would take about two hours to reach us in the woods. We were given two options, either stay sitting on the ground in the woods and wait for help to arrive, or have everyone walk back to the stables to get emergency assistance sooner. My family waited approximately 46 minutes before deciding to walk since my sister was in critical condition and couldn't breathe, despite having broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a broken arm, had to walk about half a mile. Then took another 10 minutes for ambulance to arrive, even though an ER was only 10 mins away. We have location history documenting the amount of time we spent waiting and walking after the accident. The following day, I called the company to request a refund for the excursion since my sister had to pay for her medical bills. No one asked how my sister or the rest of my family were doing or expressed any concern for their well being. That lack of compassion was incredibly disappointing. Accidents can happen, but how a company responds during an emergency says everything. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. I hope they improve their safety practices, emergency response procedures, and the way they treat guests after a serious incident so that no other family has to experience what ours did.

We had two adults and four kids in our group, all with some riding experience, and every one of us had an amazing time. Our trail guides, Emma and Anna, were outstanding. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and constantly attentive to everyone's safety. Anna, our back guide, spent much of the nearly two-hour ride on foot, helping the horses navigate downed trees, steep rocky hillsides, and even rock stair steps. It was obvious how much they cared about both the riders and the horses. Speaking of the horses--they were some of the best trail horses I've ever ridden. They were healthy, well cared for, beautiful, and gentle. I've been on rides elsewhere where the horses were overweight and clearly not in great condition, but these horses looked fantastic. My horse, Bacon, completely stole my heart--I wanted to take him home! The trail itself was breathtaking, with challenging terrain that showcased just how sure-footed and trustworthy these horses are. There was also a family of complete beginners riding ahead of us, and Emma and Anna made sure they felt comfortable and confident the entire time. I would recommend Jackson Stables to anyone, whether you're an experienced rider or climbing into the saddle for the very first time. It was easily one of the highlights of our Colorado trip!

This was not labeled as a "guided talking tour".... They also allowed someone with special needs to ride on a 3 hour ride which is "not for beginners" and that really held up the experience. They should reserve the right to evaluate riders in the beginning and make adjustments accordingly. But all in all, a good experience.

It's worth the hike up for your kids to have experiences you won't be able to find anywhere else in the world with life long core memories that build good character. I HIGHLY recommend enrolling your kids here even if it's for one week day camp, or a focus group. I also LOVE that it's been operating for over 70 years by the same family running it today. You won't find anywhere else that has not only a turn key, organized, professional establishment but that's run by heart, soul, love for the outdoors, community, respect for one another, and tradition. It's also a great place to have your wedding or any special event!!

The owners Lynn and Mike are incredibly easy to work with. All the staff are well trained and very attentive to the children and help stretch their comfort zone in fun challenging activities. This year camp was cancelled due to COVID-19. As an alternative, CMR has been hosting single family activities to ensure social distancing. We took the opportunity to do this and we had a blast. As parents, we really didn't know much about how the kids spent their time on the ranch. Spending time up there made me feel like a kid again. The staff made the whole experience fun and easy. The measures that CMR are taking to reduce exposure to the virus are as good as any place I've seen. They sanitize every piece of equipment and touch point between each family and keep the flushies sparkling. Oh and hundreds of acres to spread out the guests. After several months of quarantine and more to come, CMR's 2020 family program was much needed. It's also worth mentioning that various special needs grants and scholarships will cover the family program.

It was 3 of us, including my 8-year-old son, and the conditions couldn't have been better--just a little snow, some mud, and plenty of opportunities for big splashes (which my son absolutely loved). We did a 5-hour rental, which felt like the perfect amount of time to explore without feeling rushed. The equipment was in great shape, and even the truck used to haul the ATV and trailer to the trailhead was well-maintained--everything felt professional and dialed in. The team really made the experience stand out. Everyone we interacted with was fantastic, and Andrew in particular was a superstar--he handled both checkout and check-in, made everything easy, and clearly cares about making sure customers have a great time. We'll definitely be back, especially to experience the trails in full snow. Highly recommend all around.

We enjoyed using the gas grill and pleased that they had plenty of pots and pans available to have a cook out. The home has a view of the river from the patio that we enjoyed. The management was very helpful and stayed in touch with us right before our arrival. On our last night there we thought to pack the truck and get everything ready to head back home at 4am the next day. We got back from Denver pretty late that evening as it started to get dark. My husband and father loaded the truck with our luggage on our luggage rack on top of our SUV. It is pitch black at night in Aspen Brook. No problem for us we didn't want to inconvenience anyone, except that its rather difficult to load a truck in the dark. Our parking spot was not next to the home it was across the road, so my husband parked the car right next to the home to finish loading the truck and get some visibility with the porch light on. As we were finishing up management called me and told me we could not park there and I told her we were just finishing up loading the truck and would move it in a few minutes, she agreed and hung up. When I got off the phone I walked over to the porch and saw an older man standing next to our truck flashing a light into the windows of the truck. When I asked him if I could help him he yelled and said I couldn't park there to which I replied that we were almost done loading and would move it asap as soon as we were done and that we had just gotten a call from property management. He screamed "what if an ambulance needs to come by"!!!?? I repeated to him again that we were almost done and would move it soon and went back inside. I tried calling management back to ask who this man was, no answer. At that point I emailed property management. I said we had no problem with the call but was it really necessary for the older guy to come yell at us and on top of that snoop/shine his light into our truck??? Its a week later and never got a response from the email I sent to property management.
