Uhh this place was what I imagined vegan food would taste like lol, and what vegan restaurants should strive to not be. I just wanted some soup, and their soup of the day was brussel sprouts and mushroom. I thought it would be similar to a cream of mushroom soup, but it felt like they through vege broth, mushrooms, and brussel sprouts into a pot, threw on green onion garnish, and called it a day. Maybe the other soups are better but I couldn't finish this one. Service and vibe were pretty good though. Absolutely loved the food and the service here. My husband got a pesto bowl and I got the mediterranean burger which came with fries. Hubs got a couple beers and I tried their soda of the day (yuzu ginger). Everything tasted on point and its definitely worth visiting when in Vancouver. MeeT has been on my bucket list for a while. Ever since I went dairy free, vegan restaurants have been on my radar. I finally got around to coming here and it was exceptionally busy. The ambiance though was amazing especially on a nice summer day. However, I did feel like this location was slightly run down in certain ways. The food: holy macaroni! It was so good for being vegan food! I would be happy to try other dishes and see what they're like. I tried the butter chikkin noodz (being dairy free, I miss butter chicken a lot so this was nice). My friend and I also got the lemon tart and carrot cake to share. Service was wonderful even though it was so busy when we got there. We came here for brunch on a Sunday around noon. There are definitely locations with better service but this one was just underwhelming. Granted it was the Taylor Swift weekend, the restaurant was busy but not full. Staff seemed short staffed and our server was running around everywhere. That being said, I can expect food to be a bit delayed but it would've been nice to get a check in or be notified that our food would be just a little longer. Additionally, once the food arrived, it was lukewarm (at best). I'm not sure if this is because our food wasn't collected right when it was done or if there was some sort of kitchen mishap. Bottom line, the food tasted alright but it would've tasted better hot. Thankfully, the table appetizer arrived early enough before actually being starved waiting an extra 30-40 mins for our actual entrees. And I ordered a bowl so my rice retained decent enough heat for the rest of the toppings to be lukewarm. At the end of the day, the wait was so long, it was not worth sending it back to get reheated. Visited MeeT in Yaletown over the weekend to try out their brunch menu. I've been so MeeT before but never during brunch, so this was my first time and I must say... I enjoyed their brunch menu so much more than their regular all day menu!! They have their brunch menu available till 3pm. I got their steak and mushroom eggs benny which had their signature steak curls, chipotle mayo, sautéed mushrooms and crispy onions. They had tofu egg patty with their cashew hollandaise sauce that was sooo good! They had two sizes, single and double. I went for the single portion which was honestly pretty filling! It came with a side of salad, garlic & rosemary breakfast potatoes, and creamy buffalo sauce. The steak curls and tofu egg went so well with their cashew hollandaise sauce!! The whole meal was super flavourful! Their buffalo sauce was amazing with the potatoes as well. The classic benny had "ham" with the tofu egg and hollandaise sauce. Also very good but I personally liked the steak and mushroom more. For drinks, we got their ginger yuzu which was so refreshing!! The Yaletown location has a big outdoor as well as indoor space. Went for dinner with friends on a recent Saturday evening. Busy, but not crowded (yay). Tried the momma's "meatballs" with linguine. They were excellent. Ideal texture and flavorful. Also ordered the sweet chili cauliflower appetizers. I'm used to (and enjoy) the general issue sweet chili sauce. The sauce they use is different. Still good, but different. KFC (app) was good in flavor and texture. The In house made Yuzu soda was refreshing. The service staff was wonderful and helpful, including ensuring we knew which items contained gluten and which didn't. We'll definitely be back. read more

Great Service, Interesting Experience, But Not My Favorite Meal I was in town for a few days with my family, and we were looking for a good spot to grab lunch. MeeT in Yaletown popped up, and we decided to give it a try. What we didn't realize until we sat down was that the menu was 100% vegan, not a big deal, but definitely unexpected. Still, my family was curious and wanted to try it out, so we figured, why not? The service overall was fantastic, the staff was friendly, helpful, and happy to walk us through the menu. I went with a deep-fried burger, but honestly, if I had to do it over again, I'd go for a Chikk'un bowl instead. The burger's texture and flavor just weren't what I was hoping for, and it left little to be desired. Not bad, just not something I'd go back for. The only part that rubbed me the wrong way was one staff member's reaction when I (very innocently) asked if they had regular cheese, because again, I didn't know the place was fully vegan when we walked in. The look I got felt like I had personally insulted his entire existence. And when we left and I said thank you to everyone, he just kind of stared at me like he was relieved I was gone. Be cautious of the portion sizes as they're quite large. The server initially brought us butter chikkin noodz instead of the poutine, but they promptly corrected the mistake. So we MeeT again. Lol. I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. We ate dinner about 500 feet away from MeeT in Yaletown. And it was NOT enjoyable. So we headed to MeeT to get food with flavor!! The hostess sat us outside (thank you!!) and it was beautiful weather and a lovely street to sit on with a pretty park across the way. Our server Hannah took excellent care of us that evening. We got the Philly Cheesesteak Poutine which was not my choice (I would have picked the nachos) but my husband chose. It was terrific. The "steak" hit the texture mark and was very flavorful and still chewy like a steak and cheese usually is! The sauce was fabulous and everything was just well seasoned and good. We also got drinks, he had the Summer Sour: Aperol, OJ, lime juice and gin. I had a Spicy Margarita. Both were exactly what we wanted/needed. We also decided to order dessert because it was our sweet 16 anniversary and well we might as well end it on a "sweet note!" We got the Cronut, first one for either of us, and Lemon Tarte. The Lemon Tarte was excellent. Not too sweet, not too Tarte, just right and creamy!! The crust was made of coconut and also delicious. The Cronut reminded me of a churro with yummy liquid sweet inside. It was kind of like cinnamon roll topping except it didn't make me feel sick. Everything look so good and of course the Nashville Hunny Glazed Mac n Cheese Donuts stopped me in my tracks. So we had to try them. I had the Mediterranean Burger with the Orchard Harvest Salad (you can upgrade your fries or salad that come with your entree to any of their Poutine or Specialty Salads ). My love had the Fried Chicken with the house salad. Everything was super flavorful, delicious and had a good "bite", he didn't even miss the meat. I have tried this place once for take out and once for dinning in. I have also tried a few other plant-based restaurants and this is definitely not my place of choice. The service was okay and the portions were generous, however, I'm not a big fan of their burgers and had a tough time finishing it as the pattie was dry and definitely had a distinct plant-based flavour. New to Yaletown restaurants, so I let my friend select a spot for our early Christmas supper. Seems like a popular place & it was busy the night we were there. We even commented on the name being great for our meeting place. The staff took good care of us - drinks & meals came out quickly. As did check-ins with our experience. Decent music played throughout the supper & I appreciated that it wasn't so loud that one could still have a good conversation. Personally, it was a bit too dark in the restaurant for my friend & I to see the menu. Honestly, if I hadn't read the online menu prior to arriving, I might of used my cell phone light for reading the menu too. My friend & I were both intrigued with the range of choices for meal options on the menu. As I wasn't sure how hungry I'd be earlier in the day, I asked her to suggest a place that would have some lighter food options, like soup. But there's a little bit of everything on the menu. However, for those that aren't aware, this is definitely a vegetarian place. It was something I suspected from wording of chick'un & confirmed when I was asking about soy in some of the meal items. This can be easily missed if you're use to reading menu items such as hamburger & thinking meat. The waitress assured us that it was actually a common misunderstanding but unfortunately for my friend, when she tried the hamburger (before realizing it was a veggie patty), the disappointment from being a veggie burger was expressed quickly. Both of us tasted it and I have to say her facial reaction was very accurate for what I tasted too. However, she has a good sense of humour & we just laughed about the mix up (plus the oddities of the rest of her meal). The waitress was really good about handling the situation (apparently this happens a lot - perhaps the menu should be updated to include what kind of patty is being served or at least some extra clarity for the online menu?) even though my friend insisted she should pay for her order error. My dish was lovely & I quite enjoyed the gnocchi. However, I wasn't exactly thrilled with my non-alcoholic drink (it tasted bitter for iced tea) or maybe it just wasn't a good flavour combo with my meal choice? It was still drinkable but not something I would reorder. For my friend, her alcoholic drink was extremely bitter tasting. To a point she asked for it to be taken away after both of us tried to figure out what was off with it. Which is really too bad as she was told it was one of the sweeter drinks they served and she was really looking forward to it. Parking in this area is definitely something that requires lots of patience (there's lots of paid parking options but the area is very popular so you end up walking further if you want a parking spot along the street). However, if you're already in the area like my friend, walking to Yaletown is the better option. What I didn't anticipate was even where I parked, one needs to start walking to the restaurant from the corners of the building blocks if you hope to avoid having to take stairs. I assume this is because of the age of the area but I thought it was odd that there wasn't any ramps. Only dropped sidewalk at the corners. So for anyone new to this area, keep that in mind if you have accessibility challenges too. I didn't walk around in the restaurant (as we were seated close to the entrance), nor did we use the washroom while there, but it did look like there was a variety of table options besides the booths. They also have a patio (wasn't being used while we were there) that looks accessible. Entry area seemed a bit tight to me but I think someone with a walker or chair could still get in. Overall, the restaurant atmosphere & staff were great, it was the lack of clarity of menu items that brought it to a 4 star experience for my visit. Now knowing what exactly they serve, I probably wouldn't be going back (I'm a meat eater) unless I'm with friends that are vegan or vegetarian but as a brunch option vs going for supper. read more

This is a really difficult review for me to write. My meal here was negative. Like, comically bad. HOWEVER... the hostess was super nice. Our server, Kirsten, was super nice. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely. Kirsten recognized how bad my experience was, so she comped me my meal (even though I repeatedly told her that this wasn't necessary). And, I acknowledge, part of the issues may have been my fault, to some degree (albeit a small degree). Let me elaborate. A fellow Yelp Eliter from Edmonton was visiting town and we decided to dine out in Yaletown. I checked online for casual, reasonably priced places and this restaurant had decent reviews and looked perfect for our needs. The menu featured lots of salads and burgers and various "bowls", and we figured we'd easily find dishes to our liking here. I commented that I hadn't had a burger in ages and was definitely in the mood for one, and she, being from AB, was also in a carnivorous mood. We were seated promptly when we arrived. The hostess and Kirsten were lovely. My friend and I ordered drinks, and I commented, apologetically, that I was a "lightweight" and needed a sweet cocktail, that I can't do spiciness or bitterness. I told Kirsten to "surprise me" with a sweet cocktail, and maybe to even bring a bit of pineapple juice on the side, in case I need to tweak the drink. (I've learned this trick long ago and every bar has been happy to oblige me). Kirsten brought our drinks soon after, no juice on the side, and mine looked like club soda in a tall glass with a sliced lime garnish. I was skeptical. Kirsten said she requested it "extra sweet" and the bartender put in extra elderberry juice and some simple syrup too. I thanked her so much and again apologized. My friend and I toasted the holidays, I took a sip and I nearly spit it out. It was SO SO bitter. Like, zero on the sweetness scale. My friend took a sip and she too nearly spit it out, saying it was "really tart". When Kirsten passed by, I told her, sorry, something's wrong and I couldn't drink this drink. She felt bad, saying the bartender must've misread her notes and didn't put ANY juice or syrup in the drink. I opted to forego any drink. We ordered our foods. I opted for the Main Burger, saying I was really in the mood for a hamburger. My friend ordered the gnocchi. The dishes came out promptly and looked great! (I'm attaching a photo). I took a bite. It tasted....weird. The texture was good and the patty was moist, but the taste and the seasonings were...off. Like, really off. I asked my friend (again) to taste it. She said it was "weird". (So I knew it wasn't just me!). When Kirsten passed by and asked how we were doing, I had to ask, what's up with the burger? She then told me that this was a non-meat burger. And it was then that we found out that this was a vegetarian restaurant and there were no meats at all on the menu. So...I guess it's my error, not knowing this, but I read the menu online prior to dining here, and I read about the restaurant on its website, and it talks about its "comfort foods" and "classic brunch favorites" and all its "burgers" and even its "bacon-double cheez burger" and nowhere, nowhere, does it say that these are plant-based patties, or non-meat dishes. It does mention in its "ABOUT US" section that they are plant-forward and believe in mainstreaming diets towards vegetarian-focused diets. But nowhere else on the website or menu or dish descriptions does it mention that this is a non-meat, 100% vegetarian restaurant. My friend had also read the menu online prior to visiting and she too had no idea. We both said, it was darn lucky we didn't bring our parents here as it would NOT be a pleasant outting with our elderly, meat-eating fathers, especially. As for me, I told Kirsten, no worry, the fries that came with the "burger" were delicious, and the side salad looked great, too. So I started to eat the salad. I love salads and make one for lunch daily, along with my own salad dressings. This salad was inedible. I kid you not. It looked SO good, but the "dressing" was like a dousing of pure lemon on it. It was SO SO bitter and sour, it was comical at this point. I asked my poor friend to again taste the salad and she tried some and spit it out, too. And we laughed and laughed because, well, how could you not? Poor Kirsten came by again to see how we were doing and we laughing told her, the salad is inedible due to the acidic "dressing". She apologized, saying it usually is quite "citrus-y". (Even my friend said, no, it's beyond "citrus-y"! lol). Kirsten said she'd comp my meal and I said no, it's totally ok, I ate all the fries (which were really delicious!), and it's partially my fault for not knowing this was a vegetarian restaurant. She comped my meal anyhow (which was super nice of her). I left a nice tip, as she was so nice. So there you have it. My friend's gnocchi was good, she said. First time eating at this location, New Year's Day brunch date with my main squeeze. Place was practically empty so we choose to sit in a huge booth, the staff were all amazing friendly and genuinely not hungover. I had the Nashville Chick'Un & Waffles, which is a departure from the type of meal I would normally get. Happy that our wonderful server encouraged me trying it and it was honestly spicy, but not melt your face hot, so you could taste everything. I devoured this dish heartily; wish the portion of battered Oyster Mushroom had been bigger. Asked for extra pickles and they delivered. My wife has the Happy Breakfast Bowl, this was amazing BTW, had menu envy for sure as we switched up bites of our meals. I am guessing that whoever came up with the "super-umami tahini sauce" is some sort of fucking kitchen wizard because that stuff is delicious and aptly named. I liked the vibe of this place and our waitress was a delight! This was my first visit and I was pleasantly surprised by all the food options available to us. We chose the soup of the day which was roasted tomato and a side salad, Angry Burg and a double double to go. The salad was delicious! It had a lot of fresh carrots and beets which I thoroughly enjoyed. It was a cold rainy day so the warmth of the soup was a great comfort. The flavor however was nothing to write home about. This is what we felt after having the fries and the accompanying dip as well. There was nothing wrong with them per se but they weren't exactly knock your socks off either. For me personally, the angry burg was way too hot but my friend liked it. There were parts of it where the coating over the patty was way too salty. The double bacon was much more balanced and I enjoyed the flavors. The one thing that both burgers lacked in was construction. My friend's burger fell apart and was leaking juices and sauce all over her while she ate. She has to go and wash her hands after and while I acknowledge that it is an understandable side effect of having a burger, there shouldn't be that much watery liquid dripping from a fresh burger. All in all- I would definitely recommend checking it out but maybe don't have the burger if you are wearing something nice. read more

One-line review: A surprisingly satisfying plant-based meal in a nice setting. True confession: I'm a confirmed meat eater, so weigh this review in light of that. You've been warned! During a meat fast earlier this year, my wife and I took the opportunity to try out different vegan/vegetarian spots around the city. MeeT in Yaletown was a happy experiment. We ordered: * Crispy Chickun burger with fries and salad * Mucho gusto burger with butter chikkin poutine frie upgrade (= no salad) These two burgers offered quite a contrast to one another. The Crispy Chickun was made of battered and deep fried mushrooms; the taste and texture were excellent, and a nice contrast to the black bean-based Mucho Gusto burger (which was softer and closer to what I'm used to when I've had veggie burgers in the past). The fries were outstanding -- noticeably good -- and the salad was crisp and beautiful. I thought the butter chikkin poutine was only okay, but my wife really enjoyed it, and since it was on her plate, we'll go with that. One unhappy side effect of the upgrade to the poutine was that she did not get her side salad; that was a surprise and a sad one, given that the salad was good. It was the only disappointment of the evening. The restaurant was noticeably stylish; I could imagine people coming just for that, and maybe that's what life is like in Yaletown. This was our first time eating in that part of the city, and it was a cut above the kind of places we usually frequent. Of course, that showed up in the parking as well -- $7/hr at the meters near the restaurant. When I found that out, I almost drove away, as I'm not the type to pay $14 just to park for dinner. But I'm glad we stayed and tried it. Assuming we do it again (and I think that's a pretty good bet), maybe we'd ride transit so as not to worry about the parking, though I guess for two, that comes out to about $10 anyway. Sigh. Our servers were attentive, patient, and helpful for this carnivore trying to navigate an entirely plant-based menu. My compliments. Bottom line: This was a good experience, and that's not a small thing, given my proclivity for meat and disdain for paying for parking. An amazing vegan restaurant in Yaletown, highly recommended by a friend. The service is top notch from the hostess to the waiter. The restaurant is quite adorable, but we decided to sit in the terrace. I started with a pineapple basil smash cocktail made with gin. It was delicious, the alcohol was well balanced in it. I took the mushroom calamari caesar salad and my sister had vegetarian burger combo with fries. It was one the most succulent vegan food I had. The only low point of this place, it was way overpriced. read more

If your looking for a place that has incredible food and a variety of choice as well as the nicest group of staff you've ever encountered then you might want to make your way through the door of meeT in Yaletown. They make pretty much everything from scratch in their kitchen and you can taste it in the brightness and richness of their dishes. Also the staff all went above and beyond and the manager, Wendy, was so kind. We actually loved this place so much we ate here twice during our short stay. read more

Wow! As far as trendy, tasty, and unique goes- this spot is thriving! I would love to see the spot succeed and open more locations, I think what they do well is offer delicious foods that are not necessarily available in many other restaurants. I think the price point is fair, I think the ambience is lovely, and I think that the portion size to quality of the dish is good. I highly recommend trying the cauliflower appetizer. When writing this review I was really torn, I almost wanted to give it two stars because the customer service alone was probably the worst/close to the worst for the scale of restaurant I've seen in awhile. Despite the actual restaurant being fabulous, And despite the food being impressive, the customer service alone brought my likelihood to ever visit again pretty non existent. Upon asking to double check if a drink was alcoholic, because during my order our waitress wasn't able to articulate a firm answer- she still came back with a "I'm half sure" type response. For someone who does not have any alcohol, and to be dining with a friend who was recovering from being alcoholic, this was a really unfortunate experience for us. I don't think this was a hard question, and I expect to be able to trust my waitress with ingredients/specific question inquiries. I would've handled the situation so much differently if I was the waitress, and while I understand that everybody has their first day/bad days, I don't think that this was a hard request for her. I really was shocked at the lack of care for finding this out. She didn't make it a priority to take care of us, she didn't care about our dietary concerns/restrictions, and long story short we ended up paying for a drink that none of us drank, The restaurant experience started out so well, but I left feeling rather "over it" read more
