Had an awesome lunch there today, it was hard to choose what to order as everything sounded so good. The nacho fries were outstanding, (next time I will order extra queso sauce), the portobello burger was a big hit with daughter and my husband demolished his Meet burger in record time. We had the chocolate coconut ganache tart which was very rich and chocolaty, and the raspberry chocolate crumble which also got a big thumbs up. The service was excellent, so I guess they've been paying attention to the earlier reviews complaining about it. The cocktail menu looked amazing so we will be back at night to check it out. 5 stars. read more

Tried this place after a few friends told us about it. It was a Saturday night, so we knew we would be waiting. We were seated after about 30 minutes which wasn't too bad. Food was awesome had the chiggin things, angry burg and Mac and cheese. A bit on the salty side but nothing outrageous. Can honestly say I truly enjoyed our meal. Server was super friendly and accommodated our 5 month old. Hostess checked in on us numerous times throughout the night. All in all 5 stars from me. read more

It took me a couple of visits to fall in love with this place, but I have. I've had a few not so great experiences with the kitchen being backed up and very slow, but on those occasions they seemed short staffed and very apologetic. It also gets really crowded and noisy, and the ambiance isn't always what I'm in the mood for, but on most occasions, I have loved the food. Recommended: Sweet-Chili Cauliflower - tangy and crispy, and slightly reminiscent of sweet n sour chicken. Artichoke Spinach Dip - I want to eat that dip with everything, though on occasion, the dip to chips ratio was way off (too few chips). The Double "Cheese" Double "Bacon" Burger - Smokey deliciousness Hocus Pocus - Can't go wrong with onion rings. The Meet Burger - burgery deliciousness Cheezecake - Made with cashews, delicious. Not so recommended: Mac n Cheese - The one time I tried it it tasted like bouillon, was way too salty, and had me longing for my homemade vegan mac n' cheese. However, it was good atop of a Mac n' Cheese burger. I've taken omnivores here and they've left fairly happy, though one friend complained about a lack of cola-based beverages. They have ginger beer and root beer, but no cola, which seems a bit strange for a burgers/comfort food place. read more

We had a mini birthday celebration at this location and we ended up waiting about an hour before they had a table for us. It is a pretty small restaurant so completely understandable. It took them a good 45 mins before our food starting coming out. We ordered: - Sweet-Chili Cauliflower (Delicious!! Highly recommended) - Whisky BBQ Things (All you can taste is BBQ sauce... order if that's your thing..) - Chili Cheez Fries with Queso (Delicious! I can't believe it's not real cheese!) - Groovy Gravy Fries (Chilli Cheez Fries is much better!) - The MeetBurger - The Main Burger - Marinated Portobello Burger (Generous with the Portobello) - Noodle-y Thai (Delicious!) Portions were good but about the burgers - I don't know what they used but it tasted really off. I had much better veggie burgers at Whitespot! Halfway through the burger, I just got rid of the patty because it was starting to make me gag... Earlier, we asked them to keep the birthday cake for us in the fridge. After dinner, they brought it to our table along with the bill... WARNING: THEY HAVE A $10 CAKE SERVICE FEE FOR STORING CAKES!! That's probably something you should let your customers know about as you take the cake from their hands... I probably won't go back (especially for events involving cakes). I went to the Meet for the first time last week. We are vegetarian and gluten-free so we have a hard time finding restaurants where there is more than a salad on the menu we can eat. Meet on Main had gluten-free options for almost all their menu items. We had burgers; the Main and the Portobello burger and both were amazing! And the fries were proper old fashioned home-made fries. I wasn't sure I would like the salad with all that kale, but it was delicious!!! I can tell already, we are going to be regulars. read more

This was the best food I've had in a long time. I'm vegetarian and also a picky eater, so finding things to eat with ingredients I'm not going to pick out is a triumph. The food I had here was way better than the typical vegetarian options at most restaurants. I had The Lovely and my husband had a portobello burger. Both were delicious and filling. To top it all off we were given free ganache when we mentioned it was our anniversary, that was also delicious. I would recommend this to anyone. Food is great for vegan burgers and salads. A little pricey for what you are getting $15 for a burger. Atmosphere is generally good, however last few times when we have gone at night the music is way to loud and unpleasant and hard to have a conversation with whom ever you are with. On our last visit our meals came 15 minutes apart for just 2 people on a Tuesday night. The waitress could barely conjure up an apology. This hipster service doesn't fly with me. Have heard about this place a few times from some friends and some searches for some good vegetarian/vegan fare - and WOW. Can't believe we haven't been here sooner! I never normally take the time to write reviews, but just had to create one for this place. My partner and I were visiting tonight from out of town, but come to Vancouver fairly regularly. We had a fabulous waitress who's name we forgot to ask, (blonde-ish australian) who recommended us some items so we could try the favourites on the menu. The food was DELICIOUS. The sweet chilli cauliflower was without doubt one of the most pleasantly surprising dishes we had. The thai noodle dish was also delicious, and was able to add coconut bacon to this which I'd never tried before - but again was pleasantly surprised by! We also decided to try the drink specials which were unique - a beach boy and a raspberry ale, their range of cocktails were very impressive, and very unique. Overall we were really impressed with the range of food and drink items available. Incredible service, very efficient, food was absolutely heavenly and the atmosphere wonderful. If you've not been here before you gotta check it out. 10/10. read more

Maybe it was just an off day, but the food took a veeeeery long time to come out, and I didn't love the burger (or the bun it came on). first time here...for take out at GASTOWN location...thought to play it safe and order the veg 'bacon cheez' burger. The staff were friendly and quick to take my order. As I(taxi driver)am hoping to make this my go-to place for dinner...was hoping order would come quickly. It took fifteen minutes...which is a bit long for me. The food was well presented, BUT someTHing inside the burger was REALLY SALTY. I couldn't tell if it was the veg patty , cheez, or 'bacon'. Everything else about this place is great, and so I will return to try other items! And am looking forward to changing review to 4 STARS! read more

Updated: the owner contacted me directly, very respectful, and this week I made my way back to meet. We ordered a beer, a tofu bowl (small but healthy) and a veggie burger (the highlight of the meal - for my partner, how good the bun was, which seems like an odd thing to mention, but it's noticeable when it stands out as not just another burger bun.... And for me, delicious fries). A few little hiccups but it was a busy Saturday night and the staff took care of them. The fries came cold, likely waiting for the veggie bowl to be cooked but just as I called the waiter over to ask for hot ones, the manager slid a bowl of steaming hot fries onto the table, saying he wanted to get us the freshest. Great service this time! ---------- Original: Love that there's a new vegan friendly restaurant that's aesthetically pleasing and really thought out. They've even included the inspiration drawing for their tree canvas mural behind the bar! A little bit of a wait but we sat at the bar until there was a table. Shared two bowls that were delicious but we ate everything quickly and then wondered where dinner was! Would have liked bigger portions for the cost. Didn't appreciate the waiters choice to not give us the correct change - rounding out of laziness is kind of like stealing? it wasn't enough to ask about but it's a poor way to end a meal. Huge fan of the cocktails, hot chiggin' things, fries and kale salad, everything else on the menu is sub par for a vegetarian restaurant. The picnic bowl is gross. The staple items could be a lot better, like the veggie burgers. The service is hit and miss, we have had some great experiences, others not so much. However, the take out is always wrong. A group of us ate there a few weeks ago and all felt sick that night. I am addicted to those hot chiggin things, otherwise I wouldn't go back but I do and I feel dumb about it.. I've been to Meet on Main more times than I'd like to admit and I've had a good experience each time. The service has always been great for me, even when I've shown up with a group of 10+ people on a busy evening. It's difficult for me to choose from so many vegan options, but the cauliflower, nacho fries and onion rings with gravy stand out for me. I didn't give them 5 stars because I wish they would go fully vegan and I find a few of their items a bit pricey. My boyfriend and I were in town for vacation and stumbled upon MeeT through Yelp. I have Celiac disease so it's always tricky finding good food, gluten-free, especially when traveling and you're unsure if it's really safe. Well, I can tell you, not only was it totally safe for celiacs, but the food was delicious! We're both meat-eaters, especially my boyfriend, who was really on the fence about eating vegan for our last meal in Vancouver. We were both blown away by the burgers, so much flavor, and the fries... ohhh the fries! Not only do they have a dedicated GF fryer, but they were the best fries I've ever tasted. That is no exaggeration. I'm a big foodie, so the idea of eating just a burger for my last vacation dinner was a little sad at first, but this happened to actually be the best tasting meal of our 8 day trip to Canada! My meat-lover boyfriend even agreed. The service was excellent as well, attentive, accommodating, and super friendly. He even gave us a dessert on the house which was very sweet (in all ways). Vegan bar food, yep deep fried veggie burger smothered in buffalo sauce. Fun, loud, and hopping place. If you are looking for the fresher side of vegan food try Chau's or Heirloom. If you are newly vegan/vegetarian and feel sad you will never experience a midnight grease plate again, this is a must. This is my favourite place to eat in Vancouver for Canadian comfort foods. I've ordered their classic poutine and bacon cheeseburger, while my boyfriend has tried their butter chick'n poutine and spicy buffalo burger (I tried a bite of both). I'd love to try everything else on their menu, as I haven't had a single thing I've disliked do far! It's a bit too dark to take good food pictures, but at the same time I like the atmosphere the dim lighting gives the place. Our server never took too long to refill drinks or ask what we wanted to order, and she was friendly but not overbearing. Meet on Main is a great veggie restaurant with delightful veggie burgers to satisfy that burger craving. They have these chiggin' thangs that are like chicken wings but better! As someone who ate meat and loved chicken wings, these thangs are legit and defiantly satisfy my wing cravings. I don't know what is in them but they tear like chicken, it's incredible. I just love them sooooooo much! Try their steamed kale with cashew gravy on top! So much flavour and the kale is steamed to perfection. I went with a friend the other night. It is so nice to have a reasonably priced vegan/veggie restaurant. It is a down to earth and fun place. The food was good. But the service was pretty poor. I had a bowl of soup and a burger of some kind. They were brought both at the same time by I think it was the bartender. When I said that I had expected one would be a started and the other a main, he asked me if I had specified that. I would think that kind of thing is pretty obvious. If you can't figure out that a soup then a burger should be a starter then main, you should probably not be working serving food in a restaurant. They were busy, but it took a long time to get any attention, and the waitress did not come over and ask how things were. To me, that is a basic--at least during a meal, your server should be there to see how you are doing. As I said, the food was good and reasonable. It was quite loud in there which I am not a fan of, nor of tables so close together , but that is life in restaurants these days. read more

The server was helpful with suggestions and we ordered a lovely bowl and a simple burger. Both were excellent, tasty and satisfying. I no longer eat meat, don't miss it at all, and am learning how to prepare simple, clean, healthy meals at home. But I had no idea how YUMMY vegan food could be until I came here for lunch today with a friend. We ordered the hummus & chips, nacho fries and deep fried sweet chili cauliflower with a tamarind sauce. Oh my god. Such incredible diverse, refreshing and crazy good flavours. Vegan and vegetarian food has come so far in the last few years largely because of a growing "healthy eating" demographic, and Meet on Main is at the leading edge of how extraordinary this food can be. Meet on Main is a vegetarian's (or vegan's) delight. We had lunch here last week during our one day in Vancouver. There's so much on the menu it was difficult to decide what to order, but we shared a few items and enjoyed everything. Well first off as a carnivore, I would be lying if i didn't say I was weary of a place that only had vegetarian options but lately iv been trying to get out of my shell and I have the perfect Companion(a complete vegetarian who doesn't eat half the things vegetarian like broccoli but wont eat meat eggs and all other great stuff) Anyway We went yesterday, a weekday around 9 and it was still pretty busy, but by 1030 they were pretty empty. Its a bit dark but the music is great inside. We had a wonderful waitress who gave us some opinion of things that are favs on the menu. I would have to say the Chiggin things caught me by surprise. They tasted just like chicken! but as good as they were, unfortunately due to a mix up our chiggiin things came a bit late and our burgers arrived immediately after. Thought they were good, dont expect on the $9 budget that they will fill you up, and if you cant stand salt or saucy then they are def a no go. They have a salt like taste that almost takes away from the sauce and then the dipping sauce is also a bit saucy. We both had burger and again I guess there was a mix up, because we upgraded to the fries to a believe it was nacho fries but we got the hocus pocus instead. They were good also but would be suited better as an appetizer or a filler with beer as its just onion rings and fries with sauce on the side. I kind of expected more. Our burgers were very tasty though and for the first time my Companion had to pack a to go box. Overall enjoyed the first time visit, wish there were more of the chiggen things, with less sauce, I may have to cross the bridge again for them then! read more
