I came on a Saturday at 1pm, although the line was pretty long (30 minute wait) it was well worth! I love coming here to try their new menu items but my go to is the Texas bowl. The workers are friendly and they usually clean up the tables quickly so new customers can sit at a clean table. Although it can get loud when it's crowded, you can still hear the country music in the background. Will keep coming back!

Five star update. I can't say enough how the brisket compares to other brisket served us over the past few years. Well. There is no comparison. It's just a plain fact that Mega Texas does brisket right! 5 stars plus! Ribs were wonderful today as well. Everything else held top notch places to make the meal we ate inside memorable and the extras we took home hard to wait for. If you have not yet experienced Mega Texas BBQ in Fresno, you have definitely been missing out. It's time to go. Happy helpers inside make the experience a definite plus.

I'm a fan. This is a legit bbq spot and has a following. The lines long and I hear things run out daily so if your into lunch get here early enough to get stuff. It took me 43 min from parking to plate so that's the line and the order and wait for food. Dining room is clean and they are tending doors to keep weather and bugs put as well as making sure tables are wiped. It's busy and everyone wants a plate so it's kinda like the same as i would see at Lockhart in Plano or 1050 at Richardson or pecan lodge in deep Ellium. It's relative to Texas with a few twists. Food is fresh and absolutely plentiful. I was really surprised at the quantity, most bbq places in Cali like this are really stingy and charge a lot and give a little. This place gives you excellent portions. Now to the flavor... i had a 2 item plate with ribs and brisket, it had Mac and cheese and beans for sides. Ribs are on point. Rub is sweet with savory taste and not spicy. It is an excellent blend for pork and the color is a deep red with a healthy smoke ring. Tenderness is a very light pull and the meat stays shape so it's not a fall off bone ruined but just before. I would say the tenderness is something in competition level. Very well done. They are juicy since not overcooked. The tips are left on so it's not at Louis cut. This is a plus if you want more rib meat i guess! Brisket was super thick cuts and so much meat! Smoke ring really deep and most was very juicy and pull apart but some of it was a little lean. It just depends on the cut really for that but it was as good as a brisket could be done. I'm convinced their tiki g and heat strategy is tuned up well for feeding the masses. Flavor was great with the brisket. If i rated brisket against the ribs though i would probably take the ribs. Mac and cheese was decent but it was advertised as green chili Mac and cheese. I didn't see or taste any green chile in it at all. It was good but too basic for me. In Texas they have some Mac and cheese that explodes with flavor, this was subtle and creamy and good but not something I'm writing home about. Beans... the beans are not bbq beans, they are a hybrid that leans i to Mexican flavors and they top them with cheddar cheese. They have brisket in them as well. I absolutely loved them. They are not sweet though. If you want traditional bbq baked beans this is not it. This is some style that is Smokey and baked but certainly Mexican style. I won't come here without getting them. They would lose a bbq competition but they win my heart. Notables are the potato salad. This was cold and some dill flavor very decent but not epic. Good flavor to taste in between meats. One Hawaiian roll is given to the meal and the pickled vegetables. The pickled onions are awesome. I loved those. I tried a daily special of a few ribs that were chile verde basted but those sucked. They were essentially boiled ribs and the green sauce flavor was non existent. They tasted like a boiled experiment gone bad. I won't hold it against them though because it looked like some test they were doing for 4 bucks and i just said let's try it... that meat would slap in a burrito though.... I'm coming back for sure.

1/16/26 Sounding good for a change! Getting lunch! Tried calling. No answer! Thankfully, they texted that they are open and to come on in. Awesome!! New location from last time. Arrived! Very busy. Waited in line. Music playing. Ordered the chicken sandwich and 1 Brisket meat plate with potato salad and beans. The worker was kind. Chatted about how much better it is here compared to when they were at Arco. Paid for the order and went to the bbq station to get spicy & sweet bbq sauce. Then waited for order to be called....not so long a wait, name called and received with enjoy wishes leaving! Appreciated and GREAT new location! Lunchtime! Order split!! Chicken sandwich 1/2 is Great! Tasty, tender chicken & I added their spicy bbq sauce to make it even better!! Brisket is DELICIOUS!! Tender with the GREAT bbq flavor! Potato salad Flavorful & Great! Mac n cheese is Fantastic! Cheesy GREATNESS! Chili beans are GREAT too! Lots of Flavor! Fresh, tasty roll to top it off! I definitely had a little hit of leftovers too! Mother said her portion was Really GREAT!! Great service & GREAT bbq lunch! Highly recommended!!

It's still amazing! It's still the best bbq in Fresno. It's still worth the wait and if you don't want to wait, it's worth getting there as close to opening (10:30am) as possible! Why haven't you gone yet?! Go!

MEGA Texas BBQ not only lives up to the hype but surpasses it and is a must try for all BBQ fans! We went on a Wednesday around 11am and line was already to the door though moved along efficiently. I ordered the KC bowl while my husband and daughter ordered the Texas bowl and my son ordered the two meat combo. Everything we tasted was juicy BBQ perfection and the sides were a 10/10. I especially loved their potato salad! We also tried the Texas Twinkie and WOW! For those unfamiliar with a Texas Twinkie , it is a bacon wrapped jalapeño, stuffed with cream cheese and brisket. Jalapeño was a mild spice level. There was plenty of seating indoors with additional umbrella seating outdoors. Service was very friendly and efficient, with careful attention to detail such as making sure sauce jars were filled and tables were quickly cleaned. The lady at the register was unfazed by the busyness and treated each costumer with kindness and like they were the only one in line. Do your tastebuds a favor and let them learn firsthand why MEGA Texas has won multiple awards!

I been wanting to come here for the longest but every time, they would be closed cus I go at the wrong days or time. And when I did go, they ran out of a lot of the meat I was interested in. And now I see why! Came here for Valentine's Day and got there when it's just opened. Parking sucks, we had to park in the neighborhood. Walking up we already seen a line! I was like wtf I didn't think there would be a line cus we came early but sheesh! While in line, we were greeted and handed menus. The lady handling the door was nice. She let everyone know when we can come in since there was a line already inside. She would open the doors too. They have outdoor seating as well and a big connect four I would assume for the kids to play, well.. grown ppl can too. Finally inside and admiring all the awards n trophy's they have. Mann was I in for a treat! When u get closer you can see the man's cutting up the meat and somebody scooping up the sides preparing for orders. Fuck! That shit looked so good!! I was salivating. I went for the four meat plate. My bf did too. My meats were pork belly, brisket, tri tip and ribs. His was the same except he got burnt ends instead of pork belly. My sides was Mac and cheese & potato salad. My bfs was Mac and cheese and brisket baked beans. He also added a strawberry shortcake pudding. Both plates came with rolls and pickled jalapeños, pickles and I think red onion?? I also got one Texas Twinkie to try. They have three different sauces. Sweet, spicy and a white sauce that was somewhat tangy (not my favorite). Dug in on the meat, OMG that pork belly was melting in my mouth. The ribs was tender but not slide off the bone tender but still good. The brisket had a good amount of meat to fat ratio. And the tri tip was delicious. My bf agreed but he felt his burnt ends was too fatty. The Twinkie was phenomenal and huge! The pickled sides added a nice touch cus it helped cut the fatty flavors at times. The pickle slices tho, lowkey tasted like apple pie to me, I think from whatever spice it was pickled in.. it was ok. Sweet and spicy bbq sauce was standard but helped compliment the meats. NGL, I was disappointed in the sides. Mac was just alright. Potato salad was too chunky for me. Beans had no damn flavor whatsoever. The pudding we never had a strawberry shortcake one before and it was delicious. The place was packed but they did good on service. I do have to add tho that the table we sat at next to the front door was sticky af and had some small gnats flying around. I did not like the sticky table at all but there was no where else to sit. Overall meats was outstanding since they were the star of the show anyway!

Summertime is great for outside seating but there's people sitting outside when it's raining too! That ain't me though. lol food is still delish and you can't go wrong with those Texas twinkies. They have the specials board up front, make sure to check it out. This place is always busy so be prepared for a lil bit of a wait. Enjoy

My son found this gem online and insisted that we go. I had the Tennessee bowl which included an amazing fall off of the bone rib, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, potato salad and baked beans. Excellent. The Pit-master was super nice and welcoming and you can smell this place 50 yards before you get here, in a good way of course.

Being Mega Texas, the brisket lives up to the name. The perfect midsection of the brisket with some lean and flat is my favorite. The golden fat melted as it touched my tongue and the flat was super moist. It's that perfect texture that I always took forward to with every brisket. The ribs were sweet and had the perfect bite. Not too tender not to tough. The perfect baby bear bite. As much as I like glazed pork belly, I would 100% rather have it unsauced. It lets me enjoy the taste of pig in nice bite sized pops. If you do come here, GET THE LOLLIPOP CHICKEN. The way that it is frenched removed the tendons unlike other lollipop chickens I've had. The way that the bacon is wrapped is perfect. I took a bite, and the bacon stayed stuck to the chicken. If I went to the doctor and had to get a shot, this is the lollipop I would want. On the note about the bacon wrap, the same perfect wrapping was done on the Texas Twinkie. This might just be me, but I think I got the perfect jalapeño. Not too spicy with the perfect amount of kick. These bacon wraps are perfect. Both the sides!!! In case you cant tell in the picture, the topping on the Mac and cheese is chicharrones. The extra flavor and texture that adds to the mixture is divine. The more I eat the more I enjoy the contrast in textures and this is a prime example of that. I needed rice and the pilaf was the right choice. After all these rich meats it brought me back home. It literally tasted like home. Like the staple of every meal for a warm home cooked meal warming both the body and heart. The strawberry shortcake parfait was mixed with a custard with whipped cream folded in that kept it light but creamy. I wasnt able to touch the parfait for a couple min because I was occupied with the meats, but there was none of the liquid that you find being pulled out of the strawberry. The tres leches corn bread at the end solves the issue of a tres leches cake that is too moist. The corn bread holds the shape and because of the masa creates another interesting texture versus the mush that is a normal tres leches cake. If you are in the Central Valley, stop by and get some great barbecue.

Small location with smaller parking lot. You must park along the surrounding neighborhood. This isn't the best side of Fresno so secure your car and don't leave any valuables inside. About half block away, you can start to smell the smoke and boy does it smell good. If you're into BBQ or smoking, you can smell how clean the smoke is and the wood they use (oak wood). The line to order is about 30 mins (lunch time) and to get your food is another 30 min so plan accordingly. The owner greets the guests in line and you can chat with him. In talking to him, I learned he chose this location since he grew up here as a child. I can attest to this since he provided details and history of this area only a local, like me, would know. Turns out we knew the some of same people. He also lived in Texas and won many BBQ awards. This is the best BBQ in the Valley by far. Most places will shred their brisket in order to mask the low quality. Here at Mega, they slice it 1/4" thick which is how it's supposed to be. The bark on the brisket and ribs are delicious. The brisket and ribs were slightly dry but a little sauce fixes that issue. The fat is rendered perfectly and melts in your mouth. You can only get this from a 15 plus hours of smoking. The owner tells me he smokes the brisket for 24 hrs. Would I go back? Definitely, hell yeah, you know it! Just make sure you come in your beater car and up to date with your insurance. read more

This one of the best BBQ restaurants around. I've been to Texas and had Texas BBQ, they are better than Terry Blacks, and on par with Smoke Shack in San Antonio. The service is outstanding and it is family owned and ran. They are super friendly and genuinely care about their customers. The restaurant is small for the volume of customers but welcoming. My only complaint is the price for a fountain drink. read more

If you love BBQ, this is the place. I've been going to them since they were at a gas station (a hidden gem). IMO one of the best bbq's joints here in the central valley as i've tried a lot of shots as bbq fanatic. They are consistent with everything and my fave is when they bring the chili verde ribs to the menu. The owners have always been friendly and excited to see their growth. The new spot on butler has good seating but the place is mostly packed and lined up out the door. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for mega flavor with that Texas bite in bbq. read more

The food's not worth going back to the potato salad was horrible. The beans are too sugary. Some of the meat is dry. The owners wifel has a bad attitude and customer relations. I dropped $400 there they were carping about not being paid. They got every dime that they asked for the food not worth it. This is my opinion you can go eat better barbecue someplace else actually there is no decent barbecue in Fresno. It's all shit. They don't know how to run a restaurant and they don't know how to handle customers. Why would you wait 45 minutes in line only to step up to the counter and they tell you all they have left is hot links and you stood in line for 45 minutes. Horrible Pl. to do business with never go back again and I'm a professional chef 35 years in this fine dining business and own multiple restaurants. Their customer service needs a complete makeover. read more

Best bbq in town hands down. There is literally no competition to Mega Texas bbq. I've been to most places around town and they are incredible. I tried to go twice before them moved to the new building and they were sold out both times. When I went recently the owner said they make more food than ever and have plenty most days. This was evidenced by them doing a 300 person catering the morning I went and then still having plenty. When I went I got the 4 meat plate and it was worth every penny. I got sliced brisket, brisket burnt ends, pulled pork, ribs and a hot link at an additional cost. It was more than enough for my wife and I to have 2 full meals. I will be going back as soon as I can, I've been thinking about it ever since. The only reason not to go is your bbq skills will never live up to what you had here. read more

I had to go see for myself what people are raving about this bbq joint, as I turned the corner I see this cute little restaurant Mega Texas with two big bbq smoker grills outside resting from all the meats they've cooked beforehand as it's sold until it's all out. The line reaches out the door and it's kinda warm out still. I had my baby in his stroller as it wasn't too bad of a wait. The line seems to move at a good pace. I ordered ahead online so I was informed that you don't have to wait in line for your order, you can just go straight up and pick up your order. I got the 4 meat 2 sides platter. Sliced Brisket, Brisket Burnt Ends, Ribs and tri-tip. My two sides were Mac cheese and potato salad. The prized meat would definitely be the slice brisket as it was so tender, delicately falls apart as you pick it up and melts in your mouth. I would definitely come back for the brisket as a bowl or sandwich. I have yet to try the Texas Twinkies as I thought it was a dessert but it's actually a Jalapeño stuffed with cheese and wrapped with meat kinda like a jalapeño popper. There's extra spicy, sweet and Alabama bbq sauces on the side that you can take to go. Pretty simple bbq sauces, Alabama is a creamy tangy white sauce. I scoped it out and there were plenty of blue collar working men having their lunch there so if you're tired of your broke man, this is the place to be if you're ISO a new one;) read more

Ya, no. Got there 1 hour before weekday closing of 230 on a Thursday. Google says they close at 330? They had one plate available with 3 meats- no deviations. Brisket, 2 chicken lollies, and pulled pork. I thought about it and said yes. Wait, there's more... The sides were limited as well. No mac and cheese. After hearing that me and my money left. Proteins running out is common at BBQ's, but not being able to buy just one protein in stock is not good sense. Side dishes running out is inexcusable. Ba-bye. I miss the Hot Box BBQ on Sheilds. read more

MEGA Texas BBQ just catered an appreciation event for my wife and I and I cannot express how great the service and food were. Some of our guests have never had their BBQ and everyone loved the food, and devoured it. No one was left hungry and there was still food left over for everyone to make a to go plate. I didn't even get to one of the best parts. Their prices were phenomenal. You can get the best BBQ at great prices. 10/10 recommend for catering or to feed the family. read more

Ive passed by a few times in the last month (Friday and Saturday different weeks)and the hours say its open but place is closed and looks closed permanently like they haven't opened in awhile, noticed very small parking lot (5 cars max lol) for a bbq restaurant. I have not been to the new location but I did go to their location inside the Arco several times. The BBQ is amazing! Seriously good meats and the sides are fabulous too. I'm a sucker for homemade potato salad and theirs is no joke. I have not tried the baked potato simply because I like my baked potato in the simpler side, but it does look good I have to say. The employees I have interacted with have been nothing but friendly and pleasant. One of these days I'll get myself over to the new location because I know I won't be disappointed. read more

The best bbq in my opinion. Be ready to wait a while, so I would suggest to show up early. But the wait is worth your time . I had the two meat plate with brisket and pork belly. The sides are the right size and they are made in house . Green hatch Chile Mack and cheese and potato salad can't go wrong. The owner was out greeting everyone while we waited. They have tables inside and some outside but seating is limited. I will definitely come back for some bbq . read more

Okay, I love the way my hubby smokes out BBQ dinners but I really think he has some competition! If I could have this everyday OMG!!! You have to wait a while but once you order your food is prepared and on its way to you. Everyone was super nice and patient when ordering. I'm going back between 4 stars and 5 stars, 4.5 so I'll round up. One reason why is because they always sell out of one item or the other and also, I wish their hotlink sandwich would have been on a nice roll instead of a burger bun. I've had Mega Texas a few time and have yet to be disappointed. Their meat is so good. It's probably the closest to my brother in law, Tony's bbq. Everyone love sweet mangoes Chicken and sticky rice. I personally go get papaya salad, sticky rice and stop by Mega Texas for meat. It pairs so well. For Easter, my husband stopped at the Arco on McKinley and Fresno and ordered from Mega Texas BBQ. It is a to go place, no sit down area. I got him a hotlink sandwich with baked beans. As I said previously, the hotlinks would be so good whole, on a roll and not on a burger bun. Taste was good though. We got the mini mega to share, it came with a choice of tri tip or brisket, they ran out of brisket so we settled for tri tip and your choice of 4 more meats, a rib, pulled pork, burnt ends, hot links, lollipop chicken, chicken thighs. They ran out of burnt ends so I got a rib, bacon wrapped chicken lollipop, hot links and pulled pork. Everything was so smokey, flavorful and good. It came with bbq, a roll and 2 sides. We got potato salad and green chili mac n cheese. The green chili mac n cheese is sooo good. Pricing is fair for bbq and what they offer. If you've never been, I would encourage you to go. Also, if you want a certain item, you have to dm them on social media before you go or they'll run out as they are popular. Tasha is super friendly and Anthony is a work horse! My favorite BBQ in Fresno/Clovis area. In my pic I had eaten about 30% of the tritip before I remembered to take a pic. I also had eaten 1 side of the Mac. Pictured is the 2nd side of Mac. The tritip, sausage and brisket are my go-to meats. Their green chile mac n cheese is DELICIOUS. I've tried the chili beans once before but wasn't a huge fan, though to be fair, I'm not a bean person. I get double mac and double tritip (2 meat plate) every time. Also, tried the bacon wrapped jalapeño today for the first time, VERY GOOD! Filled with cream cheese and brisket, wrapped in bacon and topped with bbq sauce for $5/1. Worth it! I haven't tried any other meats but definitely try the tritip and brisket. My friend gets ribs, I don't like ribs, but he only orders the ribs here. They fall off the bone. I recommend ordering ahead because they get BUSY and the wait time can be longer than desired. You can place your order via dm on FB or IG also (I believe). I place my order ahead on FB. Customer service is always on point at this family owned BBQ restaurant. We arrived and waited in line, but everyone was served really fast so the wait wasn't bad. The tri tip is my absolute favorite. Very tender and well seasoned meat. Rice pilaf is a great side and the ribs and sausage links are always a must. This is my favorite BBQ restaurant that I've been to and this includes BBQ spots in LA and St Louis. Will definitely come back, amazing food, great customer service and the ambiance of the restaurant was great. A true gem! read more

Addictive. My favorite meats so far is the Tri-Tip and pulled pork. My man likes the brisket slices. We still haven't tried the turkey, hot links, or ribs but we will soon. Located in the hood but that's where I work so I'm happy about that. Service is quick and easy. Longer (but still not bad) wait times during 12-1 so all other times are a little easier. Came here on a Saturday and there was about a 20-30 minute wait to order food plus another 15-20min wait for the food to be delivered. Let start off with the cost, it's 24 dollars for 2 meat (6 oz total) and 3 sides as of 2/2024. The pickles, jalapenos and beans came from a can or at least tasted like it1/5. The mac n cheese and rice pilaf 3/5. The Brisket and tritip 3/5 good smoke but not much flavor. It was cooked perfect but lacked any flavor. I would of given this 3/5 if it wasn't for all the hype that was generated but down voted it to 2/5. Try it or skip it? History

Established in 2015.

The sparks started over twenty five years ago. With a lesson in barbeque from a father to a son. A smoldering put in place that lasted long enough to catch some air! Ignition! A move to Texas in 2007, and that fire began to grow. Pit Boss Anthony was able to enjoy Texas Barbeque and talk with and learn from the pitmasters who prepared the slow smoked barbeque goodness. A move back to California in 2014 fanned the flames. And by sharing this love for barbeque with family and friends, he was encouraged to share this passion with others. After a few trial runs and tremendous feedback the fire was ready and MEGA Texas Barbeque was born.

Meet the Business Owner: Anthony V.

Anthony Vallejo is the owner and bbq guy at MEGA Texas Barbeque with over twenty five years of barbeque experience. He started barbecuing with his father at the age of 14 and over the years his knowledge and love for barbeque has grown. A move to Texas sparked an interest in sharing with others the knowledge he's acquired and a with a move back to California, that interest was encouraged to a reality. He's now happy to share his passion with those who are as emphatic about great food as he is. A constant student of barbeque and cooking. Continually gaining knowledge to use with each cook. His customers are able to reap the benefits in the most delicious ways.

We visited MEGA Texas Barbeque in Lemoore during our weekend trip after hearing all the buzz, and it mostly met our expectations. The entrance of the door brings the strong scent of slow-cooked meat before you reach it, and the door had a line, but it moved at a decent pace. The restaurant enjoys a dedicated customer base. We chose the three-meat plate with ribs and brisket, and tri-tip, along with green chile mac and cheese and potato salad from their menu. The tri-tip proved to be the standout dish because it delivered exceptional tenderness along with intense flavors. The brisket was good, and the ribs were perfectly tender to the point where they fell apart easily. The Texas Twinkie I tried was a curiosity purchase because it delivered rich, smoky flavors with perfect heat levels. The reason I gave four stars instead of five is that they ran out of specific dishes we wanted to taste , and the ordering process took longer than expected. I went here and got the 4 meat plate and was very happy with the portions, the service, the flavor and the sides. The time before I came here and they were actually sold out which is a pretty great thing if you are in the restaurant biz I would imagine. Some other guy came in and made a huge fuss about a minute after they told me that they were sold out and was talking about how he would never come back. I always read the crybaby negative reviews because they make me laugh and sure enough there are people crying about the food being sold out. Guess what people if you are going to a place where there is a lot of buzz and people know that you have to get there early, then get there early. If you don't like the shortage of parking then go somewhere else really. How are you going to give a bad review of the place because you cant find parking or because they ran out of food. I brought my sister and brother-in-law visiting from Colorado, along with the rest of my family, to Mega Texas BBQ, and it was an unforgettable experience! The food was absolutely phenomenal--perfectly smoked brisket and melt-in-your-mouth pork belly that are some of the best I've ever had. The mac and cheese and Texas Twinkies were the perfect complements, bursting with flavor in every bite. What really set this place apart was the outstanding customer service. Driving back to the central coast we decided to stop for bbq and man this place didn't disappoint. This place is tucked in back of the gas station so it was great to grab for to-go. We had the 3 meat plate with 2 sides which is was definitely enough food for 2 people. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The bbq here is alright. It's cooked well and the sides are great. I do think they need to upgrade the pit to a real smoker and start cooking with only wood. For CA BBQ they do a good job, but to wear the Texas name they need to get back to the basics of Salt, Pepper, and smoke! read more
