Tucked away off Victor Street in Barstow, this was a fun find while driving back to Los Angeles from Vegas over Memorial Day weekend. Big props to Haley M., who was basically running a one-woman show and somehow kept the entire place moving with a great attitude and solid service. That alone made the stop memorable. The location has a cool, laid-back vibe with plenty to keep people entertained while grabbing food and drinks. They've got two billiards tables, a dart board, and all kinds of classic bar games, board games, and card games, including UNO, which is a family favorite. They also have several televisions. The food was all good too. I really enjoyed the Green Chili Burger, and everyone else in my party seemed genuinely happy with their meals as well. I felt they were trying to nickel and dime when I got the bill, i was charged for a side of ranch, a side of BBQ, and had no idea I was being up charged for the onion rings. I didn't say a word, but it hit wrong with me. .75 points deducted. What especially stood out to me, though, was the Memorial Day place setting displayed near the front entrance honoring our veterans and fallen heroes. It was simple, respectful, and genuinely touching. See my picture. That detail said a lot about the heart behind this place. If you're making the Vegas-to-LA drive and want something more memorable than the usual freeway fast-food stop, this place is definitely worth checking out. We found parking easily and walked on - as soon as we walked in we were greeted warmly - always a good sign! The inside was very clean - it took us a minute to remember the menu because we don't get there often. Ordering was easy and the person at the counter was super friendly! Food was made quickly and was very tasty, hot and fresh! When we were finished I went to thrown our trash and put the tray back and I noticed the gentleman who was making the food and told him everything was delicious! My dining partner got the cheeseburger with everything. The food was good, but messy. Loved the fries. There was so many people waiting in line to order and also waiting for there foods. The hype of the chili cheeseburgers isn't even that awesome. Its very chaotic while several customer's were going nuts because of the wait. While they were complaining to staff members when their foods coming out. We almost got our foods sooner but several women's when off on the staff for waiting x amount of hours and still didn't get the orders yet. We ended up having to wait until 10:33pm to get all our orders. We requested to get french fries first which was around 10:13pm since we're hungry. But mind you we been here waiting since 8:04pm for the whole order. We finally took our first chili cheeseburgers bite at 10:38pm. We left the restaurant by 10:59pm/11pm. The fries we requested at around 10:13pm was hot and fresh. By the time our whole order was ready to be called for us to pick up at the front counter. The batch of fries inside the box was already cold & old which tasted soggy and nasty.
