I would try to ask for my money back, but based on another reviewer who says they asked for their money back as well because of the poor quality of food, they denied them so I won't even try to ask for my money back.. I got the quesabirria plate. It was not served with consommé which I found odd. The quesabirria was good smothered in lime juice and their salsa verde. Kinda bland otherwise. And way overpriced! $16 for essentially 2 tacos and rice and beans that did not taste fresh. Overall it subsided my pregnancy craving, but I can't say I would order the same thing again, not for $16. read more

Hailing all the way from NorCal. This place is pretty good. On the way back from Vegas we stop by to get some Mexican food. I'm a sucker for Carne Asada fries so of course I was down. We pull up to the place and it's pretty creepy especially at night. It was next to a bar with this huge parking lot and it's also pretty dark in the area. I was skeptical because of the amount of feedback this place has gotten. Despite the similarities of the hood I come from I order the Carne Asada fries and I also requested bacon. BOOM! Def better than Baldos in Vallejo. The fries were crispy, bacon was surprisely fresh. The food was super greasy and make sure to order a side of guacamole because they make it fresh and it's not processed like most fast food Mexican places. My other homies got a Cali burrito (it was ok) my gf got some tacos and those were also fresh and delicious. And the last thing you must pick up here is a Churro. It's only .99 cents. It's hot, crunchy and I had to get 2 more. So I must say Kudos to you guys down south. SoCal always does Carne Asada fries right! AND they're 24/7??? P.S this place is straight creepy at night. And I love grease, if grease and salsa not dripping out of tacos, probably not worth eating, and these hit the spot. Hot, cheese melted into the beef, quick service, overall, very, very good. Many tasty items here, I recommend. In the commercial part of town (West Main St), just east of L Street, only outside tables, worth the drive/diversion. Worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. First of all, I ordered the two Chile rellano plate, only to have the driver call me, when she went to pick it up, to tell me they don't have rellanos. Why didn't the restaurant call, or better yet, why is it on their orderable menu?!? Then, ordered chips and cheese. I thought I would get creamy dippable queso. What a great start to my journey back across the US. This place is literally a gem in the middle of nowhere. Man these tacos are friggen huge. And VERY authentic. Forget about Barstow Station or w.e that place is, skip the McD's and come here. PLEASE. For $2.50 apiece, you get a taco which takes up basically half of an entire plastic serving tray. Or rather, 2 tacos take up an entire tray. Komodo eat your heart out. And don't think that the size and quantity of food you are receiving. I got the carne asada and adobaba tacos. To me, these two meats are the staples of a good Mexican taco. They require proper seasoning, marinating, and grilling. The carne asada and adobada were both super flavorful. The carne asada had a peppery flavor to it, wasn't oversalted. But to me, it was definitely how carne asada should be prepared, none of that lightly seasoned meat for me. I like actual flavor. The adobaba was also pretty good. It was marinated in a slightly heavier tomato tasting marinade than I'm used to. Still a great blend of flavors, just a bit tomato-y than I'm used to. The meat was all cooked pretty well. Cooked on a griddle and then chopped into tiny pieces of meat. I actually prefer it this way as opposed to giant pieces of meat which pull away when you bite into a taco. All in all, definitely a place to stop if your going from LA to Vegas. A filling, cheap, and more healthy meal than McDonalds. read more

This was the first Mexican restaurant I visited in Barstow. It was 10pm so My expectations weren't the highest. I ordered a chicken burrito and horchata. The burrito was the most bland, very unseasoned and tasted canned. The horchata wasn't the best, and was likely powdered. The burrito left me on the toilet and extremely disappointed. We stopped here on our way back home from Nevada wanting some Mexican food. It is a hole on the wall and not in a good area but that finest matter cause they have drive thru!!! We ordered tacos thinking they aesthete small ones; NO!!! They are huge and full of deliciousness. We had carnitas, asada, adobada, fish taco and hard shell chicken taco. Now if you have braces I do not recommend the carnitas it is hard to chew due to big pieces of meat it is not shredded. Not complaining I still ate it. I lived in San Francisco for a while and that city is very proud of its forearm-sized burritos for cheap ... well they got nothing on this m'fer. For $7 after tax you get a burrito that is literally the size of a small baby. Plan to take it "to go" though ... your dining options are only drive-thru or a small covered outdoor area that can get swarmed with flies when its warm and not windy. read more

Most everything is good here. We have been going here for years and just recently things have been shaping up even better. They redid their menu, painted and looks like newer equipment inside. Before they would charge you a fee to use a card--no longer. Large portions at a good price. The people here are real nice. When their outside menu didn't coincide with their paper menu, and subsequently messed up my order, they fixed it immediately at no charge. The only thing I don't like is when you order the ground beef tacos they are not the traditional seasoned beef you would expect at a Mexican food establishment. Instead they chop up hamburger patties so the result in non-seasoned, overcooked beef chunks. Lol SMH Not sure why they do that, not at all appetizing but that would be my least favorite thing there.
