This Cinemark has a really interesting layout and parking situation. The have free parking, but also there are a bunch of parking spots around the restaurants nearby. Some of them do say 1 hour parking so watch out for that. My husband, some friends, and I went here to see Marty Supreme. The lobby feels a little dated. It was being your own bucket day at the theater, and I was very excited to get to use my Taylor Swift bucket!! The people who helped us were nice. I got a popcorn, Diet Coke, and Red Vines. The Red Vines were incredibly stale. Other than that everything was good. The seats in the theater are the luxury loungers so they recline, and I love it!! The seats in our theater also had seat heaters, which were an added bonus! Overall, it was a pretty good experience. read more

We came here to watch Marty Supreme and overall had a good experience, but we had an interesting first encounter with the employee at the box office. I asked if they could print my tickets (since other Cinemarks I've gone to, once the tickets are scanned, they can't be printed. So I make sure to ask before getting them scanned) and they said yes but mumbled something afterwards. When I asked what they said, they replied they were "just complaining about their workplace" It was just an odd first impression. The popcorn was good, and they had a deal for National Popcorn Day where you could bring your own tub for $5. Unfortunately, they have the soda machine that uses one nozzle for multiple drinks, so the soda never tastes quite right. The theater itself was clean and well kept. Though not as very cool as Megaplex Theaters in my opinion, this is still a very nice venue and I frequent it almost as often as I do the Megaplex. Nice theaters, clean, courteous employees, comfy seats. The seats are a tad better than the Draper Century, at least by my wife. I enjoy being a member and getting the perks. Good snack bar. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. First time at this theater and it was a pleasant experience! I did come in for a showing around noon, so the restrooms, theater and everything were super clean and in great shape. I look back on my original review from so many years ago, and about the sheer delight I had in not seeing many people here. Oh, those were simpler days--days when you worried about people because of pure convenience, and not because of, you know, a virus that might be spread and they're the vector. In the times of COVID I've been to a couple of theaters, once they reopened, and I surely do appreciate being able to see tickets ahead of time and see how full the theater is. They're doing all they can here to make sure it's safe now that we can go back. I've been in a couple of times and I stand by the late weeknight ideas; it's a good way to get out but not be around a huge crowd. Avoid the weekends, avoid new releases, and maybe keep an eye on discount Tuesdays on a case-by-case basis and you'll feel just fine visiting. They currently require masks for unvaccinated individuals, but check first as we've come to learn this kind of thing can change frequently. read more

I'm a fan of this and other cinemark theaters - the place is kept clean, is sufficiently staffed, keeps enough showings going that I can always see the big pictures I want to see, and has snacks with a pre-order system that I like using. Trying to drive here, I was a little concerned with some of the neighborhoods we had to drive through. But once we turned the corner and saw the beautiful new shopping center and theater, we were very pleased! Handicap Parking is a little scarce but they have a large covered parking around the side and it's FREE. The interior was open with a tall ceiling. Cinemark is unique in that they have you go through the line picking your concession as you weave through all your options, then at the end of the maze, you pay for your spoils. It was different than what normal movie theaters do but I thought it was fun. The luxury loungers are nice, especially with those seat warmers- thank you! But I wish they reclined MORE. I prefer my legs straight when the recliner is up, not still partially bent. Luckily the seats are spacious so I had room to adjust as often as I needed. read more

Two words: Heated seats. That is really all you need to know. Any more, most theaters have big 'ol cushiony reclining seats. This Cinemark does too (at least, the showing I attended had them), but theaters are notoriously COLD, and those warmy sqwarmy seats paired with my sweatpants (I ain't tryin' to impress anyone at the movies!), made the experience about as cozy as watching TV at home. YAS! After preordering my tickets (another vote up as this was one of only a few theaters participating in Studio Ghibli Fest), I automatically started receiving their emails, and about once a week they send a coupon, so that's kind of cool. Though nothing extraordinary, they seem to always be for concessions, and considering how overpriced those are, I'll take whatever I can get. Regarding concessions offerings, they have the standard popcorn and boxed candy and such, quite a variety of bottled and canned drinks, bulk candy, ice cream, and even a Starbucks bar. It's not on par with the Megaplex, but it's better than the majority of theaters. Of note, if you preorder tickets, you still have to wait in line to have them printed, so there is little advantage as far as time saved. read more

A Cinemark theater, century 16 union Heights is conveniently located in Sandy in a small but fairly upscale strip mall with a large covered parking structure. If you choose to eat and drink before or after your movie experience, you'll find a decent selection of restaurants in this area, making for a full night out on the town. Each of the individual theaters are relatively small but the seats are comfortable and these theaters are usually not too crowded in this location. A nice feature at Century 16 is the ability to purchase your tickets at the kiosk prior to your movie. Once your tickets are purchased, you can stroll in just before the movie starts and avoid most of those annoying previews. It certainly is a nice option to have pre-assigned seating, putting you in the exact location of your choice. Go big treat yourself to a bucket of popcorn - take advantage of the free refill and have a terrific night at the movies. Salute! read more

Normally I have had very good experiences at this location but as of today left a bad taste in my mouth. The website had showings listed for 1010 for the movie we planned to see originally and even earlier showings for others around 950, after walking in a rude employee stated they aren't open and have no showings until 1030. Even if this is the case maybe don't have showing listed as otherwise on your site to your location. We ended up driving to Draper and had zero issues getting into seeing a movie. To me, it was the tone and how it was handled that was unprofessional. Century 16 used to be so nice but then they upgraded to their "luxury" seats which most theaters have now. But their seats are extremely uncomfortable, and the legs only go up like a max of 45 degrees, which feels incredibly awkward and uncomfortable to sit in that position for two/three hours. . Every other theater with reclining seats let's the legs go up parallel to the ground so you can actually recline back. I really feel like when management was planning on buying their luxury seats, no one actually sat in the chairs and tried them out first to see if it would be comfortable or not. It's a huge oversight. Go to AMC or Regal if you want a quality theater with nice recliner seats. read more

This is a nice movie theatre in the Union Heights area. It is clean and well maintained by the staff. There is ample parking in the attached parking garage. The shopping area has several restaurants to choose from including Tsunami, Bajio's, Iggy's and Asian Star. There is even a place to get desert called Smart Cookie. Inside they have cashiers and only one ticket kiosk. They need to add more kiosks as they are both faster and easier to use and don't have the added complication of involving other humans in my transaction. The concessions offer the usual fare including popcorn, candy, drinks, nachos. They also serve Dreyer's ice cream and Starbuck's coffee. There is an arcade available for you to waste your money in. Who doesn't have a computer or game console these days? There is no reserve seating available which is both good and bad. These seats are always comfortable as movie theatre sets are. I've never had a broken one. The arms lift up in case cuddling or close proximity to the popcorn tub is required. The staff have always been friendly and courteous. Like all movies theatres in Utah it can get crowded on weekend evenings. They do offer reduced prices for a matinee. If you want to save money go the budget theatre in Sugarhouse. Their web site is terrible and looks like it is from 1997. Avoid the web site. Their online ticketing option adds costs and time. The ticket takers often give you a dirty look as the pull out their mobile device to scan in your printed ticket. Mostly because it sucks and doesn't work right. Just use the kiosk and everyone is happy. Having the nearby dining options make for a great movie experience. This is one of the better movie theatres in the area. read more

I'm relatively new to SLC so maybe I need to expect a different experience at the theater. Back in the midwest, the theaters typically offer a huge bargain for movies before noon ($5 to be exact) so I should get used to the fact that it is just way more expensive to go to the movies here. My really big complaint about this place is the chairs. I was a huge fan of Marcus Theaters back in the midwest and their chairs recline way further than the ones at Century 16. It was really disappointing to get in a movie seat a few weeks ago here and realize it barely brought up a foot rest. I did appreciate that it was easy to get my reserved tickets and the theater was very clean. I also appreciated the garage parking. With that said, my overall experience was disappointing given the price and the seats. read more

I did not know this theater existed. Staff was very friendly. Nice and clean theater. The food selection was on point. The hot dogs were hot, they hooked up the popcorn with lots of butter, that i didn't need to add more. The pretzel bites were perfectly cooked and the pizzas were suprisingly good. we came here today to see avenger's: endgame! i literally couldn't find any tickets to any showing closer to me at a cinemark, & i was DEFINITELY not trying to see a 3 hour movie at the megaplex! i snagged the last two tickets that were in decent seats next to each other for the 4:10 pm showing (yay for matinee prices!), we hit a little traffic and missed every single preview, but luckily we walked in right as it started so we didn't miss a thing. the seats were comfy, but i was at the sugarhouse location a few weeks back and i swear those seats were comfier? but still good! i've said it before- but huge props to cinemark for upgrading to the luxury recliners!! such a lifesaver! there was a pretty annoying crowd there, but the theatre can't really help that. gotta love it when parents take a big group of boys aged 10-12 that scream & make obnoxiously loud noises at everything they found funny, which was almost the entire movie, yet don't do jack squat to stop them from disrupting others :) but hey, my fault to come to a regular theatre to see a movie like this, right? next time i wanna see a super hero movie, I will probably head to brewvies where the children aren't allowed :)) all passive aggressive jokes aside- this location is pretty solid. right on fort union blvd with good eating options around! the concessions themselves here are pretty impressive, I noticed that they even have starbucks?! pretty cool. since i was so late, i didn't get any concessions, but will another time for sure. my sister lives like 5 minutes away, so i'm sure I'll be back! read more

Well...it was at least mostly clean. It also had reserved seating. Sound also worked and there were no viewing problems. Aside from that, not really a lot of positives here. This is a very dated theater, in an area that is a royal pain to park in, so no luxury recliners and trying to wade through the concession stand is an absolute sticky, sloppy mess. No idea why they have chosen to try to herd people in that manner, but is a pain at best and not at all workable generally. They really should stick to being a dollar theater, if there is still a demand for that kind of thing or renovate to get with the times. We had nearly the entire theater to ourselves and I don't at all wonder why. read more

If you want to have dinner and a movie, Union Heights is a great location to see a film. Located in a shopping/dining area that include great restaurants like Tsunami, Hoof & Vine, Wasatch Broiler and Grill, Outback (across the street), as well as desert places (Smart Cookie and Rocky Mountain Chocolate theater), Union Heights shows mostly Hollywood fare, the seats are VERY comfortable and there's not a bad seat in the house. For me, I always save room for the best theater popcorn I've had ... Kettle Corn, which is basically sweet, crunchy caramel corn. I wish they'd add more independent films (instead of that third screen of the latest superhero film), but overall a great theater. read more

Luxury seating is not how I would refer them, it's more like stiff, uncomfortable, and barely able to recline. Yesterday we went to LHM Megaplex at the district and it was a night and day difference. The seats were soft, comfortable, and they actually reclined. The heated seats are a nice feature if it was cold. My review has nothing to do with the staff, which were friendly and pleasant, it is solely addressing the not so luxurious seating. Century 16 Union Heights is one of the recently built Cinemark properties in the valley and its located the Union Heights development off of 1300 East. The property is set back in the development so its not clearly visible from 1300 E but its not hard to find. When parking at the theater you will most likely be parking in the garage which is located at the rear corner of theater building. Its well lit and easy to navigate. Many weekend nights they also have a valet out front, although they don't seem to like to take cars for 9pm or later showings. The ticket counter is inside and usually has no more than 2 people manning it. The line can grow quickly because of this. The secret that most don't seem to notice is the lone kiosk ticket machine immediately to the left of the front doors against the wall. I've personally walked in where the line is well snaked pass the kiosk and walked right up to it and bought tickets and had them torn while the line stood still. You can also print your Fandango or MovieTickets.com tickets from there. They also have 6 dollar movies all day long on Tuesday, and with Salt City ticket prices at 8.50 its a bargain. They have a clean well stocked snack bar with all your normal movie theater trappings. Your average large drink and popcorn costs 10.50 and the popcorn has free refills. They currently have the space-age Coke Freestyle machines that you can mix your own Coke flavors in. I personally think the Coke tastes better from their employee serve fountain but its a fun option if you're so inclined. If you enjoy going to the movies and they have them, get their plastic reusable large cup for 5.50. You can bring it back and get 3 dollar refills through the end of 2011. It pays for itself quickly. They even have an ice cream case where they'll scoop you a cone or bowl. The theaters are large and clean. The seats are comfortable and have correctly sized cup holders. I personally think the seats are more comfortable that the competitor seats at the Larry H Miller theaters (their's seem very hard). Their largest theater isn't huge and their smaller ones can get pretty small for a newer cinema building. They all have good picture and stadium seating but like many of the Utah theaters they don't all have 300 ft screens. I like going to the Cinemark theaters and the Sandy one in particular more than the Larry H Miller theaters. Maybe its the freedom to choose my own seat and control who I sit next too... or maybe I just don't like the fiasco that the Jordan Commons theaters seem to be from parking to getting tickets to finding the theater in their monstrosity of a building. Call me a purist, but if you like to go to a movie and thats it, I highly recommend the very standard and satisfying experience you'll get at Century 16 Union Heights. read more

I don't know how this place is still in business because it always seems empty when we go, but I do love it! Clean, great seating and $6 tickets on Tuesday. Plus Bajio is across the parking lots along with a bunch of other fun restaurants. I must just catch it on off days. Service is fab, though I can't vouch for the food. I only buy theatre food on a rare occasion, like when I'm PMSing. It's always clean, the seats are comfortable, there's plenty of parking, and there are several restaurants in this same little retail area (including the fantastic Tsunami). The snack bar gets a little crowded sometimes, as it seems they usually only have one person staffing it. They also have some amazeballs spaceship-looking machine that can mix approximately 2,000 flavor + soda combinations. That's not my gig, but the machine makes me wish I was into that. It's a nice clean theater. I love how they have reclining seats, I wish they reclined back more but it's better than nothing. I would always buy my tickets at a kiosk that they had right inside the doors and they took it out which is disappointing. I also wish they had more food options besides just pizza, nachos and hot dogs, but they have a lot of restaurants right next to the theater so i suggest eating before or after your movie. The concession lines usually go slow. They have 2 sides of the concession stand and when it's crowded they will sometimes just have 1 side open. If you get a large popcorn it comes with a free refill but i hate how you have to get the refill that day. They won't let you bring it back next time for a refill like the Megaplex does. I also which they had more parking, most of the parking is for the restaurants and it gets way crowded especially on weekend nights. This isn't a bad choice of a theater at all if you're in the area. It's clean, the popcorn is fresh and the prices aren't too high. Also, if you come here on a Sunday afternoon the place is a ghost town. I've lived by this theater for a while now and for some reason haven't come. They have a great sized parking garage just right off the back. It's a nice theater experience and the seats are comfortable. The actual theaters themselves are smaller than I'm used to, and I could see how they could fill up quickly when a big movie opens. DONT buy your tickets online in advance on a Sunday! You'll pay a $3 "convenience" fee and then when you get to the theater, there will be only one person at the box office and you will have to stand in line and wait to get your ticket scanned. Not very convenient when buying them in advance to SKIP THE LINE is the entire point! $3 convenience charge or not! Then I tried to get something from the Starbucks concession stand and even said hi excuse me to the girl behind the counter who never saw or heard me. Oh my goodness gracious. Don't bother finding the seat you bought when you walk into the dark theater, good luck seeing the seat numbers anywhere! They also do NOT have reclining seats as advertised online! Don't sit in the very last row middle seat either, all you will feel is springs! This theater is not worth visiting when there's so many other amazing ones right around the corner. This is my go to movie theatre of choice. It's close to my house, has lots of food nearby, ample parking (with a parking garage), the arcade is fairly big, and it's never really too busy (aside from weekends, specifically Saturday, holidays and big releases). I love that Cinemark offers $5 Tuesdays; even for new movies (excluding early showings for preopening). They have all your standard food and drinks here. Since they have those fancy coke machines with all the flavors for customers to use, you have to ask for a soda from the regular dispenser behind the counter if you prefer those,which I do. I think these machines make everything taste weird and has a bad aftertaste; I prefer the regular machines with the concentrate bibs and not the cartridges. If you use the Cinemark app and use the Cinemode feature, you get coupons for free or discounted concessions (they expire a week from issuing date). Before we go to the movie, I put my phone in Cinemode and then change the time in the settings by a few hours; then I take it out of Cinemode and claim my coupon and correct the time. I use my coupon for my visit and always have one available. :) The staff is pretty friendly here and the place is usually clean, the floors aren't too sticky either. I love that the bathrooms don't have doors that you have to pull open with your clean hands (it's the worst when they only have hand dryers and no paper towels). You can buy movie tickets in adcance on their website. It's great for busy movies to ensure you get tickets and have good seats. It's usually faster than waiting in line for everyone else to choose their seats. The downside is they charge like $1.25 fee, per ticket when buying online, unless you use a Cinemark gift card. We reload a gift card and apply a couple bucks from it towards our purchase, just to avoide the surcharge. Movies, especially with snacks, is pricey enough without all the bullshit fees tacked on. Bathrooms are clean, overall, it's a clean place and ki d of quiet. read more

Live on Saturday and a rebroadcast on the following Wednesday. I have friends who have been at theaters that have had issues with the broadcast. Knock wood, but never an issue here!
