Came here for brunch on a Saturday and was seated in 20 minutes. Ordered a latte and the avo Benedict. Both were amazing! The eggs were poached perfectly and the seasoning was so good. I hate doing this for a place that is very good, specially because the food and the environment that I really enjoyed every time I came here but when you get disrespected from one of the people that works there. Short story but I was totally ignored when I went to the bar to order some coffees that I ordered at the front door, a simple give me a minute could be nice and understandable because I knew it was more people in front of me, but the look that she gave me like made me feel that I made a sin was very rude. I don't think me or my family will comeback here in a long time. The rest of the stuff was very nice and friendly. I hope this lady learns this good manners. read more

Stopped into Meg's for breakfast one day recently. Loved the bakery and the decor of the place. We had a bit of a wait but didn't mind. I ordered scrambled eggs with some ciabatta toast and maple sausage. Wasn't a fan of the sausage...thought it was very salty; but that could be preference. Hubby got an omelet and liked it. Coffee was very good. Mugs are too small, though, although Antonio, our waiter, was right on top of refills. He was an excellent server. Bathrooms could use a little love. The benches were a bit nasty, too...could use a good cleaning. Also, don't just give out a straw. Ask if someone wants one. I'd like to see less straws used. I don't ever want one. All in all, I'd return. Service is key, and Antonio won me over. read more

Fun quaint out of the way location that if you don't know about it or find it on Yelp you might miss! That would be a horrible shame. Great food and friendly staff both time we have driven through Temple. There was about a 20 minute wait today due to a large party of 5 size, however, the hostess asked after a few minutes if we wanted drinks. Very sweet and professional! The food was delightful and the desserts were even better. Those cookies somehow popped into a box and came home with us! I will let you know though if you see something in the bakery you want to have, grab it quickly! They run out! Great food and I made sure to post this time so I can find them again for our next trip through Temple. read more

I did a to go order on a Sunday afternoon, the place was very busy , so of course it took someone a while to get to me. Thank you to the Bartender who finally took my order instead of walking past as if I didn't exist. The food was pretty good , a bit skimpy with the potatoes, but the pancake was huge so that made the meal filling along with the scrambled eggs. I'd definitely try this place again but at a not so busy time. read more

The food was good but the wait was Brutal on a Sunday at 9:45AM. It took my party of three, just over 1.5 to eat and check out. It's time to expand! They certainly need more tables and chairs. The space just isn't that large. There is even a bit of outdoor seating. The service wasn't impressive. We had to track staff down multiple times for refills. Just not my thing. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. I just needed more variety

For starters, and I don't mean appetizers, I debated three stars, and really want to give Meg's five. I'll describe why five and why three, and the resulting average of four. Why five: Love the wait staff. Friendly and accommodating. Super-attentive at breakfast...keeping the coffee topped off. Important. Baked goods. Show up early for the bakery smell. Then try to resist having some type of bread product for breakfast. The ingredients. They source locally and list ingredients on the board daily. Nice touch. You can tell the ingredients are fresh. And speaking if nice touches, they use VacuVin to seal their wines. Which is nice if you're not the lucky patron who gets the fresh bottle. Why more places don't use that simple, inexpensive system I'll never know. Makes a HUGE difference. Who wants to pay $11 for a skunky glass of yesterday's (or yuck, day before yesterday's) wine?? Why three: Megg's needs to up their coffee game. It tastes like institutional blend. Not sure why, but I'd be looking for brew that's got a little more "something", and right now it tastes a little like hotel coffee. Food temp: The last two times I've ordered a Belgian waffle, it's arrived less-than-hot. The omelet I had yesterday was fine though...but a waffle's got to melt the butter, you know? I'll still go to Megg's when I visit Temple. I'm writing this hoping someone there reads it and steps the game up a little. I hope what I've experienced isn't a sign of decline. read more

Stopped in for breakfast; had the "make your own omelette" with tomato, mushroom, spinach, feta and chicken sausage. Not sure what kind of feta they use; but, it was very creamy and blended the flavors well. My wife had scrambled eggs, which were fine (really tho, how can you mess up scrambled eggs??). Both of us enjoyed their homemade bread (sourdough and ciabatta). Home fries were seasoned a tad too salty for our liking. Coffee was good too. Our server, Antonio, was excellent; very attentive and polite. Didn't get a five star due to cleanliness - the booth cushions (near the draft beer station) were nasty. The bathroom needed attention too. Will go back - maybe to try their brunch. read more

Temple staple with southern favorites plus great brunch options. Weekends there's usually a pretty long wait. Ordering take out is hit or miss given food can sometimes arrive pretty cold. Over the last few months, not sure if due to staffing issues, I've noticed a decline in the preparation of the fold (for example: cold fries even when dining in, rock hard waffles, etc) but overall would still recommend. read more

I've been here several times, it's also a place my manager chooses to go to if and when we have out of town visitors. It's close by and the quality has been fairly good here. The reason why they've dipped down to 2-stars is due to the past several trips it's become noticeable that you don't get your bang for the buck here even though everything is priced at a premium - - and that means you should always receive high quality or quantity. In some instances my food has come out late - and even cold, and on the last visit I was not impressed with the quality or quantity at all. They made some changes to the menu (nice!) so I ordered the Southwest Chopped Salad (bbq pork belly, sweet corn, cherry tomatoes, avocado, black eyed peas on a bed of lettuce). Sounds good, doesn't it? The waitress sold me hard on it, and I asked her how much pork belly was on it and she said it's "plentiful and you shouldn't need to add any meat". I was so looking forward to some bbq smoked pork belly chopped salad, and unfortunately I was so disappointed when they placed the final product in front of me. I picked through it to find the pork belly, which amounted to exactly 5 pieces a tad larger than my thumbnail. The avocado was also quite scarce as well, and these are the two premium products in the salad. But how's the taste? The same trend here - - the pork belly was cold and bland, it didn't taste like "bbq" at all, and a couple of them were just chewy bits of pork fat. You really couldn't tell it was pork belly, and to me that's not quality and it's certainly not worth $10.95. I immediately ask the server for a side of grilled chicken breast and started to slow my pace down so I could wait until they brought it out, I was assured it would be rushed. Unfortunately waiting became the main theme - - it finally came out after everyone had finished their plates while I had nibbled on mine and it was half-eaten. What I saw on the small plate was pale, square, and flat piece of chicken breast - which I could tell was frozen from the bag, not what I was expecting to get at all. The taste was also bland, and perhaps some freezer burn as well. I was not delighted at all about my $15+ lunch where the quality and portion was comparable to something half the price. Smaller portions, frozen and flat chicken breast, bland and cold tiny pork belly pieces, and penny pinching on the premium stuff coupled w/ slow + delayed service doesn't translate to a quality experience, and it doesn't come close to the higher price tag (as compared to other places in Temple). It won't motivate me to come back, much less recommend this place to future visitors. I'll work with the team to find another reliable go-to place in the area as some of the others with us also felt the pain of the delays and gaps in execution, they also felt unsatisfied compared to what they paid for. On a high note everyone here is always friendly and nice, however, when it gets busy we sometimes experience staff becoming "scatter brain" and seemingly stressed. read more

Lots of hype for Megg's but I was disappointed in the overall taste. I had been previously and it was fine. This time, however, the brown butter pecan pancakes were dry and chalky and the crispy bacon was almost to the point of being dehydrated. Even the fruit had some bizarre tastes. The fresh squeezed orange juice was the saving grace for Megg's. I'm sure the lunch is pretty good but I don't think I'll be returning for breakfast. read more

When I knew I was moving to the Temple area, I asked a couple of my friends who already lived here where the best place to get lunch was and both of the said Megg's, and boy were they right! I only have an hour for lunch so I'm usually pretty hesitant on sitting down somewhere for lunch, but at Megg's, it was not a problem at all. I walked in and was offered a seat at the bar since I was dining alone. My server greeted me very quickly and suggested their lunch special that day, which was a Pho-type soup. I went with the lettuce wraps and the deviled eggs, and both were delicious and I would order both again every time I go back! The bill was a bit pricey considering I got 2 appetizers and a tea but the quality of food I ate was worth the price! I can't wait to come back to Megg's again for lunch very soon! read more

Bakery items was the main reason for the visit. Cinnamon/raisin bread and blueberry scones were wonderful. Highly recommend them. They also have maple (they were sold out) scones and cranberry-orange scones (didn't like the sugar crystals atop them). Next time we will try the food in the cafe. read more

Had seen so many good reviews I just had to try it. I made a to go order which was ready in about 15 minutes and went back home to dig in. I have to say that while I was waiting, I discovered the yesterday's bread counter and helped myself to a loaf of sourdough which the folks were kind enough to slice for me. That was the first bite I got was delicious bread with butter. They are firstly, great bakers here. Then I got into the crunchy cauliflower salad which had roasted cauliflower and a great lemon tahini vinaigrette. I got the pimento cheesesteak which had crispy onions, jalapeños and tender juicy beef on a really good baguette. I am very excited to go try this place again and take the family. read more

I had the earl grey tea which was freshly brewed and loose leaf which you don't see too often! It was very flavorful and nice on a gloomy day. I then got the salad and soup.
