The therapist seemed either untrained or uninterested. The pressure was far too heavy and when asked to do less she did more. Half the time she was massage my bones, not my muscle. My therapist only checked in once about my comfort or needs while my boyfriends checked in every step of the way. It felt more like someone randomly pushing on my body than a focused, therapeutic massage. I've had many professional massages in the past and this was not even close to one. I left feeling more tense than when I arrived. It is almost 24 hours later and I am currently in agony needing a heating pad for my back that is how much pain I am in from that massage. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I felt disappointed and frustrated, especially given the price and considering how many other great reviews this place got. I finally booked a spa pampering day, over a year past the Mother's Day I got a gift card from my husband. I planned my day off work and meticulously researched the people I wanted and timed my appointments. This is a big feat considering we have a toddler and no time!! I arrived today to start my much-anticipated day to Ambyr who did quite a good job on my gold gel manicure, except for the hasty massage and her sour attitude. She seemed almost put off I was there and was not warm or kind to say the least. But the manicure was good. Then I had the most amazing signature massage with Cristin who was absolutely phenomenal. She blew me away. I was then supposed to have a luxurious 30 minutes between that and my 1-hour facial with Sophia where I wanted to read and relax, but instead I was whisked straight to the next room with someone who was NOT Sophia who gave me an under-hour, sub-par facial with NO steam (much to my dismay), and I left underwhelmed and with remnants of facial mask all over my face and neck (thank goodness I went to the bathroom after and happened to see this so I could wipe it all off!) I was never given the courtesy of a notice that my aesthetician or facial time had changed so this was a total surprise - this left a very bad taste in my mouth. The Lash Lounge at Blue Bell! I do want to point out a little something for the manager or whoever that was at the desk when I was checking out. As a business owner myself and an HR personnel to a well known company, a little smile can go a long way, consideration and direct communication with the customer can say a lot about its management. Of course as with any corporate and private beauty studios there are always 'upsell' moments where services, maintenance products and memberships are recommended for purchase. I just politely turned down all suggestions. Refill pricing is comparable to other lash studios in the area. But for full sets, the prices are a bit higher than competitors. I am interested to see how my lashes hold up during the next 2 weeks before my refill appointment. *Update: The night of service a couple of lashes fell off while brushing. I also did not receive the lash aftercare instructions via email following my appt. I notified the lash lounge & Rosa, the manager, was prompt to return my call to discuss the issues. She confirmed instructions were re-sent and offered a time for me to come back in to have a couple lash extensions re-installed. I decided to just hold off until my refill. Rosa was very responsive and quick to resolve issues!
