Mei-Hoo is 100% better than anything around. We have tried about 6 or 7 chinese restaurants from pelham, salem, lowell and dracut since moving to the area. Nothing has come close to Mei-Hoo. My fellow Worcesterites will understand this, it's Worcester Chinese food. read more

Place is OK. Went to try some of their food vs others last night. Appetizers were OK. More batter than chicken on the chicken fingers. Egg rolls were small and probably commercially made. Discovered Mei Hoo a few months ago, now it is our GO TO for take-out Chinese. You can eat in, but there's limited seating and kind of in the rough. Love their Moo Shi with the pancakes and plum sauce. Hot and Sour Soup is great,(my husbands' favorite) and they have the BEST Wonton Soup ever...full of bok choy, mushrooms, chestnuts other veggies along with pork or chicken whichever you prefer and tons of wontons! I usually get a large Wonton Soup for a meal, and get 2 big bowlfuls and it's only $4.25! The Kung Pao Chicken and Egg Foo Yong are good too. Lots of stuff I'd like to still try though. I wNt to review them on food only,as this is a takeout place,that has a few tables as a Courtesy. Ive tried all the takeouts in town and some more pricey. This is my 5 th time ordering here and each time the food was ready for me within 5 minutes of the time they said. The chicken wings,moo shi, lo mein,egg foo young and garlic sauce, is the best ive tried. Super slow takeout (waited about 45 mins for my delivery) and food really wasn't that great. I ordered an egg roll (which was OK) , hot and sour soup (tasted slightly burnt), and Hawaiian chicken (which was just nasty). I also ordered a coke for which I paid $2. It was not in my order. I called to complain and they said they would come back with it but they never did. I tried calling again but they didn't pick up. I recently had my first and last experience with Meihoo. It was a Saturday night and they stated it would be 35-40 minutes for delivery. Understandable. However, they were at my door in 20 minutes and I live 10 minutes away from the restaurant. Needless to say it wasn't fresh. I ordered a pupu platter, lo mein and orange chicken. The pupu platter consisted of almost all spareribs, which I am not sure that they even were. It was a pile of what looked like dark brown overcooked candy. Not strips, but chunks. The orange chicken was the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Again it was chunks of fried something and they were hard to chew. They were a brownish color and not edible. The lo mein was ok, the rice was overcooked. I shiver even thinking about the food from this restaurant. Never ever again. read more

For years I've driven past Meihoo without giving it a moment's thought. In my experience If the outside of a Chinese place looks like a bunker, the food is pretty bad. After joining Yelp and seeing the other reviews, I decided to take my family to try the fare. It was not impressive. While there were a few specific items of quality most was very bland, nasty or just blah. I wonder if prior reviewers either were nostalgic about Meihoo from past association or if they were familiar enough to know what to get and what to avoid. Here's my take. The good: The won ton filling in the won ton soup the boneless ribs house special fried rice (it was the white kind, Yay!) the dipping sauce for the Peking ravioli The bad The lobster sauce (bland) the won ton soup broth (like dishwater, the won tons barely had any filling) the chicken fingers (greasy, gummy, bland) Peking Ravioli (the filling was OK, the pan fried outside had an unpleasant texture) the Crispy Beef (bizarre- no sauce! just batter-fried beef bits on a bed of dried chillies, green bell pepper and minced lettuce) Nowhere near the worst I've had, but it left us with no compelling reason to return. Would rather go to Methuen's Chef Co or China Buffet for so-so Chinese food. For great stuff I have to go all the way to North Reading. read more

After reading a few reviews, we decided on Meihoo. The Crispy beef was much more crispy than it was beef. The rice was dry and the shrimp with vegetables had literally 3 shrimp in a sea of veggies. Just awful. read more

online order L18 Pork Lo Mein choice of white or fried rice three appetizers and extras if you chose to. Delivery was in time expectation and a fantastic delivery person. Opened up and realized Lo Mean was missing and pork strips were there instead of extra boneless spare ribs. I would have been more than happy to allow that mistake, but the missing LoMein was not acceptable and needed complain. I called and was yelled at by the rudest, stubborn and totally not qualified in customer service. We spent the better part of 10 minutes with him saying that I didn't know what I ordered and I told him to look at the order in front of him. I read it off as it it written above I asked for someone else, he hung up on me. Never again and would encourage you to check on order infant of delivery person or when you pick up. I yelled at him and I am glad that I did. I truly understand that customer service is hard, but yelling at the customer and in this case I was right is just plain rude. I wish I could give this place no stars. I ordered from them the first time, and didn't get half my order. Not to mention the half I did get was cold. When I called to tell them it was missing, they told me oh well and hung up on me. Today, I decided to try them again and give them the benefit of the doubt that my previous experience was a one time thing, based on other reviews I have read. I ordered my food at 5:30pm...it is currently 6:58pm and my food is still not here. When I called them to ask where it was, they said it was already out on its way. That was over 20 min ago. I was so upset with my last visit, my family always orders here. I tried to order at 7pm but I had to call 3 times and got hung up on. It was 7:10 by the time I got threw, and she could barely take my order, she said it was going to be 45 mins, which was fine but the food didn't come til 830. I couldn't even eat the food, it was cold and rubbery. Part of my order was a large crag Rangoon. And she sent a small, no big deal I called and told her what happened and she said "I'm sending it out right now" meanwhile I live no more than a mile from this place. It was just before 9pm and nothing. I go down there and she didn't even tell the delivery guy to send out the correct order. When I asked for my money back, which was only $24 not Including a tip she told me she couldn't do it. I told her I had to throw away my food because I couldn't eat it and I didn't want to wait longer for food. She told me I could only get my money back if I went home and brought it back, when I told Her I threw it out the delivery boy had an attitude and asked me why I couldn't go threw my trash to pull out all the food to bring it back.
