WORLD'S BIGGEST MEIJER! Needless to say, I was super pumped when I realized how close this Meijer was to my new apartment. This place is massive and has basically everything you'll ever need on a day to day basis. I have never walked out of Meijer without spending bucks, but, at least I walk out with a crap load of stuff. Unlike other grocery stores where you spend 100 dollars and walk out with 2 bags of stuff. The only thing I with Meijer carried in general is Apple Gate meats. They're one of the best brands for lunch meat and they don't carry it, waaaaah. But otherwise, this place is off of the chain. So, plain and simple...this place is my go to, minus Mariano's. :) read more

I'm from Atlanta, and we don't have Meijer! If I had to compare it, it would be a good mix between, Walmart, Target, KMart, & Kroger/Publix. It's a great one stop shop!! I did have an issue with a manager on a personal phone call and ignored me while needing help finding medicine for my toddler. I let him know what he was doing wrong and he apologized, but then proceeded on another personal phone call. read more

I remember when Meijer first opened up around my area. It was like day after thanks giving sales...only it wasn't thanks giving... Having a 24 hour place with EVERYTHING you could imagine comes in handy. Heck...when me and my friends are bored we just go there and walk around to see what cool stuff they have! There are things you buy at Meijer and things you shouldn't. I general, their boxed food, milk, and standard food is awesome. Their house brands are usually quite solid, including house spices that are cheap and just as good. As for a one-stop shop, this is as close as you can get. Also, while you do support a chain, you support a much smaller chain and not Walmart, which I enjoy. Also, they have awesome sales and after going again and again, you know that certain stuff goes on sale often so just wait a week and you can buy it in larger qty at a discount. However, a lot of their organic food, or speciality items actually cost more than, say, Whole Foods. They also almost never go on sale, probably because they buy so little. Also, items outside of grocery, which they have, are very hit or miss. If you want a one-stop shop, this is a great choice. read more

THIS IS FOR THE GAS STATION EMPLOYEES As a general manager myself, you need a staff turnover. I don't know who trained the cashiers in the gas station, but they are the rudest people I've ever met. It's not just one.. it's all! Literally, 3 weeks in a row, I've gone in to buy something (all Saturday mornings). I usually get a donut, and pay with a $20. I ask for change, "may I please have 3 $5s back." WHY IS IT EVERY TIME YOU HAVE TO GIVE ATTITUDE AND LIE TO ME SAYING YOU DON'T HAVE $5s. I have called out 3 different cashiers, 3 Saturdays in a row. The cash drawer opens, I ask for 3 $5s, they say they don't have any $5s to give out, and then it's me who says "Haha I see them right there." And after I call them out, they get frustrated and give me attitude and become angry with me. It's not like it's coming out of your pocket ladies. Honestly, at the end of the day, a few things. 1. I'll never return back here, you've lost business with me. 2. Customer service needs to improve, hire people who aren't miserable with their lives. 3. I go to this meijers about 4 times a week and today I was treated really bad. I went through the self check that was 20 items or less and the lady that was working that area yelled at me and said I have over 20 items and I had to go and wait in line over where there is a person checking people out. I didn't have 20 items I told her. The lady looked at me , rolled her eyes at me and said whatever. Really rude. That wasn't it either. I purchased kids jackets and clothes that had hangers so on my way out I asked her if they recycle the hangers because I didn't need it. She looked at me and said no I don't care what you do with them. Then rolled her eyes again! Really? Terrible customer service. I took pictures of the terrible rude worker and went to the service desk to complain about her. The ladies at the service desk was really nice. They apologized but it seemed like they get a lot of complaints about that lady. read more

I had to return a couple of things at the service desk. Nadeline S. was working there, and her several eye rolls and rude tone made it clear that she did not want to be there. She was extremely unfriendly and unwelcoming, and on top of that her mask was under her nose. At least employees should follow pandemic protocol! Expired products, sold out products week after week, incompetent employees... I think I'm done shopping here. There are plenty of groceries stores in the area to patron. I'm not a big fan of their deli meat selection, but their whole rotisserie chicken blows away Whole Foods without even trying. Meijer's thick cut bacon is also one of the thickest cuts I've had (aside from custom bacon) and makes wrapping tenderloin or the bacon explosion easy to make. 24 hours, clean, competitive prices, and a nice selection to choose from. Plus it's rumored they have Hagen Dazs Green Tea ice cream, but I haven't found it yet. read more

As a previous reviewer said, Meijer had a problem with expired dairy and soon to be expired meat. I haven't seen that issue in several months so hopefully they're getting better. Their skill crane is one of the most rigged I've ever seen. Otherwise, the Mperks are very useful, gas and food are reasonable and they seem better staffed than Walmart. read more

I hadn't done much shopping at Meijer previously but have recently started having delivery of my groceries from Meijer, and their service with Shipt is excellent! The shoppers text every time and let me know what's out of stock, and even snd pix of products, or whole shelves, so I can choose an alternate. The only downside is Meijer seems to be slow to restock shelves, so late in the day, many things are not available. But the shoppers do a great job of finding alternatives for me. I am disabled so having this service available is awesome! read more

Horrible time in the checkout, I just worked 10 hour shift, want to get 6 items. Only 2 checkouts open at 8:30pm self checkouts are busy, I ring everything up at the self checkout now I have to wait for assistance. I gab my stuff and go to another check out with a human. The person kept going away to help the help the second checkout, like I said there was only 2 open. I put all my stuff on the belt and now waited another 10 minutes. I left all my stuff on the belt and drove to Wal-Mart. When you see 3 or more people in every lane you need to get more people. This happens a lot here and I hate coming here and only go here once in a great while. Pretty sad I rather drive 5 miles away to shop when I live walking distance to this Meijer. Self checkouts are only good if you have them both open. Will try everything in my possible life to never come back to this store. I rather pay extra gas, time and money them to come to this Meijer. Store has really gone downhill. Prices are too high. Shelves are usually not stocked. Be careful - many items expired! Produce is not as good as smaller stores. Store is really dirty. I was visiting last night and witnessed several employees fooling around. Not one even acknowledged customers walking past. The new changes to the aisles make shopping really confusing. Why is it that every trip to Meijers takes a minimum of two hours? For example, last night. I needed, exactly: 1. A dozen eggs 2. Raisins 3. A cheap hand mixer That's it. A bunch of wine - they do have an excellent wine selection there, especially if you are like me, and tend to buy wine based only on what animal is on the label. And we needed it for our party! 5. Brandy (it was on sale!) 6. A pound of shrimp (We need it for shrimp bisque, and it was very affordable!) 7. Those cleaning wipes. I know, I'm killing the environment. The Meijers brand, by the way, wasn't really a great deal here. 8. Phish Food Ice Cream. Duh. 9. Two boxes of TGI Friday's wings. They were on sale for 2 bucks a box. Where else are you going to get wing goodness for 2 bucks a box? Meijers always has snacky goodness on sale. Once they had Home Run Inn Pizzas for like a buck fifty. 10. LOTS of Crystal Light, because they had a buy two, get two free sale. I do love my Crystal Light, but it can be an expensive habit. Thank you meijers for making it cheaper! But where will I store my massive quantities of Crystal Light? Well, you get the idea. Meijers has everything, often for affordable prices. Plus, you can go wearing pretty much anything you like. Once, my mom was visiting, and she accidentally covered her shirt in dirt at Home Depot. She was concerned about going to Meijers, but I was like "Mom. It's Meijers. You'll fit right in." When I started shopping I went into the bathroom and it was Gross so I told one of the staff members about a clogged up toilet he said that he would check on it.When my shopping was done an hour later I went back and ugh....just check my pictures.I just CANT with this place. read more

This is a one stop shop. I needed to waste some time and I found it. I must have cirled the store 3 times. Not the cheapest in town, but much friendlier and lots more helpful than Walfart. I was approached 3 times and they all had smiles on? Great store, but they need to retrain their cashiers. She double bagged about 10 cans and then put the banana's on top. Despite numerous complaints to their headquarters and negative online reviews, they continue to neglect and abuse betta fish. They got better for a while, but I was in there tonight to buy my daughter some winter boots (which they were woefully out of stock on) and I looked at their fish. The fish in their aquariums looked OK but the bettas looked terrible. read more

I'm writing this review specifically about the deli. I went in one night after having a hard day wanting a quick meal for my family. Then waited at the counter for nearly 10 minutes waiting from someone at the meat counter to come over and notice me, which didn't happen. I could see chicken and wings still in the display case...and just wanted an 8 piece. I first sent my son over to ask for someone to come over and help me....I was told that the register there was CLOSED (it wasn't even 8PM). I asked if I could purchase the chicken that was left and told that I couldn't it WAS closed and SO was the register. THEN this chick came out from the back with a ghetto attitude and said it's closed. She proceeded to go to her register serve her co-worker what they wanted and use the same register(which I was told was closed) to check him out...she told me she was closed and I couldn't get the chicken... She then took the trays out of the case, covered them with wax paper and went in the back. About 15 minutes later the came out, I'm still waiting....and put the chicken in buckets, priced it and put it in the display case. I spent on average of $400-600 per month at Meijer, but NO More. My business is all with Target now, if target is closed I will wait till tomorrow...till it opens. If you want to get treated like cattle go to Meijer and they will set you UP. You may pay a little more at Jewel, Dominicks and Target, but you will be treated with dignity and respect....and if you compare prices...If it's not on sale at Meijer it's not worth shopping there. I'm done with IT!! I'm very upset by the way I was treated and tell everyone I talk to about my experience. I've lived here for 20 years, stores like this won't make it in the longhaul....service is KING in the suburbs. read more

Up until the Target privacy scandal, I was a loyal shopper of theirs. I switched to Meijer about four years ago, and feel I save way more with MPerks rewards and coupons than I did with my red card. I eat a lot of fruit, and love picking up pineapple or fruit trays marked down 40% on the sell by date. I eat them for lunch same day and only find a bad strawberry or blueberry once in a while. The people who work there are usually friendly and helpful, but sometimes the self check out is crazy. I also think the parking lot is filthy most mornings when I shop. But overall, I'm satisfied with Meijer and prefer it to the alternatives in the area. read more

I've been spoiled by the Plainfield store. This Route 59 location in Aurora/Naperville is insanely busy, no matter what time of day. I've gone in several times during the weekdays, around 12pm, and I have to wait, wait, wait and wait in line - even the self-serve checkout is madness. read more

I will never EVER have a cake done here again! I had a cake done for my father's 90th birthday party and it was decorated like a 5 year old did it! The writing was terrible and they ran out of room writing HAPPY BIRTHDAY so the last letters were all squished together. There was a very skinny border around the edges and they were very skimpy. The "90" was the same size as the other lettering and hardly noticable. This $35 cake looked cheap, cheap, CHEAP! I couldn't pick it up myself and by the time I got home to see it, all I could do was cry. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Ok. So I went to Meijer last night. One of the things I bought was a Crock Pot, regular $14.99, on sale (I thought) for $9.99. Got home and saw that I was charged $14.99. So I went back today, and to my surprise they stood firm and would not refund the $5.00 difference. Here are the facts. You decide. - There were a large number of crock pots in a special display near the cash registers. - All were identical except for the color. - There were six different colors. - There were seven price tags, about evenly distributed throughout the display. - All of the tags said the regular price was $14.99, sale price $9.99. There were no tags without the sale price. - In small print on each tag was the color it described. None were in front of a crock pot that matched the color on the tag. - The one I bought was white with purple polka dots. Today there was a sale tag in front of one of the polka dot crock pots. - The store's position is that 3 colors are on sale and 3 are not. If I have to look that closely at the fine print, I just won't go back. I don't like being cheated, even if it is only $5.00. Funny thing is, I would have gladly paid $14.99 for the crock pot. It is a gift, and where else can you find a crock pot with purple polka dots? So I won't return it. I just won't go back to that store. read more

Hate to slam a business. Only complaint is that they have 20+ cashier stations and two cashiers working on a weekday 5:30 PM. They are going self-serve check out and they are awful!! Slow, machine locks up and just bad for big orders. Very frustrating-made a good shopping experience go bad where I will not go back--sounds silly but with two kids, bad weather, you really want to just get in and out off a store. read more

The prices can very from decent deals to not-so-decent. I'm shopping here more and more because of the self-checks. My biggest issue is with cleanliness. The store interior is generally pretty well-maintained, but the parking lot often has dumped fast food bags, drinks, food people have bought in the store, eaten, and then just dumped out of their cars (even though a garbage can is just a few feet away. Management should monitor this more closely, especially in the warmer months when more disgusting people are outside and using the lot as a trash can. read more

I have been going to Meijer for a long time. This has always been my go to store. The last few months I have been going has been a nightmare. The produce section is always really dirty and does not look fresh what so ever. Walked over to the boston lettuce and a bunch of the leaves were dried and going bad. Their bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. There have been huge paper towel balls stuck on the ceiling for weeks now, totally gross. Another thing I Have noticed is that the "managers" do not treat their employees very well. I was being rung up by a nice cashier and I ordered a bunch of flour. So of course, the flour got all over the belt where you can put your groceries. The manager came up to the cashier and barked an order at her while I was still paying for my groceries. "You need to clean up the flour right now off of that belt." Ummm...first why don't you wait until the customer is out of the door and you could use the word PLEASE. I don't know, I just got the impression that she was trying to bark an order at her rather than ask her politely. It is not like she left it sitting there for hours and took other customers with a dirty belt. Overall, I will not be coming back to Meijer. It is a dirty store with a TON of employees always working. There is no reason a store should be that messy. Ill just stick to Jewel from now on. read more

My favorite grocery store in the area! Great prices and sales! Meat department is amazing and produce is fresh with tons of options. I wish the team was a bit nicer and the deli had better options, but the bakery makes up for both. Keep it up! read more
