Meijer is my absolute favorite place to shop for EVERYTHING. They have such a wide variety of merchandise and there are always new things on display. Every time I go into meijer I feel like a kid in a candy store. The employees are very friendly and very helpful. The lines at the cash registers are not usually very long, as meijer isn't understaffed! Their prices range, but the quality of anything you buy is amazing! I could spend hours in meijer. As a store, Meijer's is awesome! I drive out of my way to shop there and it pays off in terms of pricing and product availability. As for Customer Service, quality customer care is not consistent. Although I've experience or witnessed many, one incident stands out the most. While walking through the bakery I noticed a young man standing in front of the display case for cakes. He was obviously standing there to get a cookie. My first thought was it was so nice that Meijer's gives a free cookie to children. I went on to do my shopping and about five or more minutes later I walked back through to see the young man still standing there waiting. The staff was in clear view and was talking playfully. I asked the young man if he was waiting to get a cookie and he replied yes. I asked if they knew he is waiting and he shrugged no. I then called to the staff to come help. I heard the person giving a loud sigh as if it were a problem. I then asked her; you still give free cookies right? She replied yes. I told her this young man would like one--could you help? She then offered him a cookie. I walked away to an adjacent display. The young man came up to thank me for helping him. I want to say this was a one off event, but I have seen this so many times and have experienced this several times at the meat counter. I spoke to a manager and recommended they get a buzzer or bell or something to alert the staff that a customer needs help. The manager said that would be demeaning to their staff(!?!) More demeaning than ignoring the customer's needs? I hope they can correct this. Meanwhile, do a better job of taking care of ALL of your customers--even the little ones! read more

At first I was adamantly against the idea of such a large store in which you could buy a multitude of things under one roof but boy was I wrong! I was pleasantly surprised to see they carry department store cosmetic lines as well as salon hair products. I am anti-Walmart & find that product offerings at Target to be limited (especially grocery wise) so when in the mood to go discount department store shopping Meijer is my new go to. The staff at this location leaves a bit to be desired, my visits have been between 3-7am so far, hopefully it's just the 3rd shift that's lacking in customer service etiquette. Overall = love! The honeymoon is over with this place since they 1st opened. I don't like their produce at all, doesn't seem fresh. There are NEVER any REAL cashiers. The few they have, it takes 20 minutes to check out. Thus the reason why everyone seems to do self-checkout. Limited selection of brands I'm used to buying. Bakery I'm told only has 1 cake decorator so come graduation time, order early (actually, don't order at all as the cake was very dry). You can tell bakery items aren't baked fresh there, they all come frozen. I don't particularly like the meat department either. I still will go there on occasion just out of convenience because it's close to coming home from work or making a Costco run. I only gave it a one star only because yelp won't allow zero. Took the opportunity to visit Meijers fabulous Starbucks. Who doesn't like strolling for some great prices on the sales floor with a hot cup o' Joe? I went on a weekend, Saturday in particular. Assuming it be fairly busy in the afternoon hours I decided to stop buy anyway. Been to prior Starbucks locations, not in shopping centers. Every location with exceptional customer service. I didn't mind waiting in line for my beloved Starbucks coffee. The terrible service that was concerning to me. Two black girls were working the station, along with another white woman. One of the black girls were extremely rude to me when I went to make my purchase for my coffee at the register and the other was absurd when I insisted they had given me the wrong coffee drink which I had ordered. In my years of purchasing Starbucks coffee, I have never been so insulted in my life! As a paying customer, I expect to have my coffee made properly for the price I pay. Not to be insulted by someone that I ordered the incorrect drink. Thanks but no thanks, I won't be throwing my money at this location any further. read more

Prices are the key reason to shop here. Freshness in the produce section is iffy. Sometimes the prices are not displayed. Check out lines are slow. The cashiers has to bag your groceries the store is so large that employees still do not where many items are located the mPerks program is overly complicated. I've been to store twice, driving 20 miles one way to get there and will NEVER come back. Visits from 8 weeks ago where a deli hot food item was out of stock in entire store at 11 a.m. on a Friday, not a single red pepper in the produce dept and green beans on sale were moldy. Yesterday, a Saturday at 10 a.m., chicken breasts that were on sale were gone... no offer of anything else! Bakery items are really high priced and were older packaged rolls/buns... all rubbery and not freah. Also 4 other items I was specifically looking for were not on shelf and not a single worker was willing to help. In my entire adult life I never walked out leaving my cart half full, but I did here. #ILOVEMEIJER!!! Seriously though. It's a classier version of Walmart, kinda like Target, but with a full on grocery store. They have a GM side with everything you need from cosmetics, to pharmacy, sporting goods, clothes, electronics, holiday decor, etc. And a wide variety of it all. The other side is grocery. The place is huge.....Fitbit folks can get a good 5,000 steps during a trip here! So what I like about this location: with it being brand new, it's obviously super clean. There's a lot of employees on the floor and they're fairly knowledgeable and willing to help. The bathrooms aren't gross. They have a really great grocery side with lots of organic/gluten free options for those who care. The prices are competitive, too. There's a nice huge parking lot up front. AND to top it off, tons of checkout lanes to get out outta there and on your way home stat. Bonus: lots of self-checkout lanes for those independent Yelpers like me :) read more

Tried to buy an item from the flier. It was Nice n Easy marked down to 6.99 with the app it was an additional 3.00 off. I couldn't remember my password so I changed it successfully but it would not let me access it. I went to customer service and she said, Well how many do you want? I said I'd take four..:she said I can only let you have two(eye roll). No explanation. Can't look at the app to see if it has a limit. Poor service and poor app. read more

I purchased a Meijers frozen turkey as a back up in case the 24 lb I bought from another grocery store was not enough. I have been making Thanksgiving dinner for 50 years so I know how to cook. The Meijers turkey was horrible. When I took it out of the oven, it looked like a poor starved over sized chicken that had never been fed and the outside looked like skinny jerkey. The 24 lb bird I purchased from another store was plump, juicy and delicious but the Meijers bird had very little meat and was dry even though I had it in the oven for less time. I will never buy a Meijers brand turkey again. To top it off, 6 of the potatoes from the 10 pound bad I purchased from Meijers were actually moldy. They had white fuzzy mold on them and had to be thrown away. I had to make a fast run to the local Piggy Wiggly on Thanksgiving day to buy more potatoes so that I'd have enough. Their produce sucks but pretty much everything else is awesome. Good weekly deals, their chicken breasts are always very cheap and it's nice being able to grab other stuff while doing your grocery shopping. If they could just keep their produce department stocked and offer a few more varieties of apples I'd give them 5 stars. read more

Moving to WI recently- I come to see that residents very much love there local small businesses such as pick n save and sendicks. With Meijer joining the WI state; so very awesome! Why pay top $$ when Meijer is here to save you money. They're clean, pride themselves on selection. They always have everything I'm looking for. I love Meijer! read more

I wasn't sure at first, but this place is really terrific. Prices are very competitive and they have a great selection. Not sure about the meat section as I've shied away from meat as of late, but the produce section is fresh and lots of selections. Bakery is great, wine and liquor prices are below everyone else in the area. From what I've seen so far, it's a fun, clean, roomy place to shop. read more

Well the beef, other than hamburger, is tough and ten hours in a slow cooker still tough. Lot of expired food in deli meat, and dairy, fruit flys on produce. Stay away from some bulk produce. Loose radishes were old and tasted like old rubber. Have seen mold on some things like lunchables, protein snacks. Some deli lunch meat like Oscar Meyer and others expired or a day or so out on the shelf. Check expired dates on alot of stuff like dressing,juice, well lots of stuff. Its sad when you have to check any non frozen thing you buy to see if it is expired or a day out of expired. Deli has poor customer service and long wait times. You are ignored while they prep food. What the point of prepping food if you don't want to sell it to a customer? I avoid the beef, Might be Angus, but taste and texture of old cow. Steaks are bad, roast is good for beef jerky, deli, any prepped food. Most prepped fruits taste old and slimey. So avoid some areas of the store that dont have high turnover items in grocery. Avoid bulk stuff like radish not packaged, they just throw new on the old. Black mold growing on some of edges of produce holders. Yum. Not my go to store for beef, fruit and some produce, better off at Sendiks or the Pig for that stuff. May cost more buts its fresh and higher quality. Yeah Walmart with a bit higher class. Pick and Save is loosing to Meijer because of their crappy customer service. At least Meijer has that. The self checkouts are bad with you having to stop every minute and wait for a clear. The check out times are bad as well with long waits. If they had baggers it would not take so long. These poor check out people have to bag the stuff themselves and people are so spoiled they wont help or put the groceries into the carts themselves to speed up the process. They stand and play on their phones and complain how long it takes. You can speed things up by helping that cashier put things into the bags and get them into your cart. Avoid weekends unless very early or late. Yes long checkout but that's because a lot of customers slow it down by not being prepared.. oh at the end I will put in my Mperks or gee why should I put stuff in my cart, Im on my phone looking at facebook. Time to pay, where did I put my card anyway. Oh put some on this card and some on this other card, Oh my EBT card is out of money, whoo knew. Gee its Saturday, why are their such long lines and so many people?? whhy. People need to understand that there is a price for lower price. Soo if ya dont like the long lines get off your phone and help get your groceries into the bag and into your cart, enter your mperks and have your card or check ready. That could be a whole nother topic and why I dont go to grocery stores at peak times. UHH read more

Meijer is a great place to be scammed. I was in twice and both times I was told there was "a problem with their scanners". This is not a new business. it is in established business moving into a NEW territory. Lines were miserable the first weekend open which is not a complaint on my end....just an observation. I went to self check out. After waiting 15 minutes, I got to a self line and scanned all my items. Lastly I had a mail coupon for $5 off of $50. Bought $63 plus worth of stuff....the machine took the barcode off of THEIR own coupon and told me to insert the coupon into the slot. NOTHING was deducted on my receipt though. I promptly gave the "team leader"....(which in this case scares me) my concern. She told me it was in the "store savings subtotal". That is not the case. That just represents the discounts of items I bought on sale. I quickly totaled the items on my I-phone to verify and I was right. Went to customer service desk pretty pissed at this point and the friendly lady told me "Yeah...we've been having a lot of problems with our scanners". Today I went in to test the waters again.....Bought 3 items and 1 was a $5 mis-ring over the shelf posted price on some hiking boots. Seems like Mr. Meijer likes to enjoy $5 bonus checks. I think contacting the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is warranted. meijers? read more
