I am not generally a fan of Meijer. I am definitely more of a Target fan. However, if this location was closer to my house, they might win me over. This Meijer usually has a good produce selection and is kept clean by the friendly/helpful staff. I stop in here a couple of times a week since it is close to my home and I have rarely had a bad experience. I can't question the convenience of Meijer. If you like superstores, this is probably tops among them. It has, quite literally, everything that most people will need to go about their daily lives. It has an enormous grocery stores, books, CDs, electronics, housewares, toiletries, clothes, and so on and so forth. It is also open 24 hours, which is awesome for oddballs like me who like to shop in the wee hours of the morning. That being said, I never, ever come to Meijer. Why? I find it overwhelming. The store feels like it's about five square blocks in size, so vast and cavernous that I always end up pacing around in frantic confusion, wondering if I really have seen that log before or if it's a different log. It takes me forever to find anything in this store, and I don't like that. Besides the whole buying local thing, which I really do support, that's the main reason why I don't do superstores. But if you can hack them and if you have a lot of energy to expend on shopping, this is probably a good choice for you. read more

My family has used this Meijer for all kinds of needs for years and it usually seems to have what we need. When you go in the sliding/automatic door you are imnediately at the floral section. They offer a variety of flowers, including (at least in spring and summer) Bromeliads, Irises and Calla Lilies, all of different colors. I needed a Mother's Day gift for my mom and she loves flowers so this was a perfect, convenient place to find one. I went right over to the flower stands and browsed the offerings, amazed at all of the different varieties of flowers they had. It wasn't hard to make my choice, which is huge for me because I often have a hard time doing that, and I was ready to go. The day I was there the store was very busy, but service was still good and pretty fast. I would go back for flowers and other quick needs. read more

Ok Meijer is Meijer! At this location there is always this old man who greets you as soon as you walk through the door! I come to this Meijer often and he is always there. Usually during the day!!! However, Meijer you got to do something with your checkout! It takes so long! At this location you need to go late at night or early morning or you will wait in line to checkout!!! Also I am a new mother and the first time i took my son shopping, I was struggling to put the car seat in the cart. I had to later find out on FB that meijer has special carts for infant car seats. So..........I've been here almost 3 years and I'm finally going into the infamous Meijer. Let me go ahead and get this disclaimer out-of-the-way. Walmart is so much closer to me, and my neighborhood Walmart is on North Keystone. So walking into this Meyer, was like walking into Nordstrom LOL. There were so many workers available to help you with questions and find items. Most of the food and items were stocked very neatly. The produce and meat looked fresh and appealing. The store was super clean and they had at least 12 registers open. I don't care how busy the store is, Walmart will only have 3 registers open, and one of them is always going to be the self check out area LOL. I did not find everything that I was looking for as far as organic vegetables. I was just browsing, but I would probably do better going to my local Kroger for the common items that I purchase. It was so nice in this store, that it made me want to get a part time job here. read more

Had a great experience with one of meijer's more helpful employees. Came in late to try and rush together a birthday party for a family member and needed party supplies of course. The blonde gal who helped me pick out balloons and even filled them while I was looking through the store was very pleasant. Was able to find quite a large selection and given service I would not have expected, awesome experience. read more

I have always liked Meijer and when we moved to Fishers, it was one of the first places I looked up. They have a great variety of products and the shelves always seem fully stocked. This store is usually pretty clean and the staff are polite. Their Mperks program offers mobile coupons and Mperks members only discounts. I can't say that the Mperks program is always beneficial but every little bit helps! read more

Coming from Michigan I was happy to find out that there were Meijer's around Indy, the prices always seem reasonable and they seem to have what I need. After a goof up with a catering order this afternoon, the staff at Meijer went above and beyond to fix things the best they could. The store director Aaron was courteous and attentive to my situation. I would recommend the party trays at this location- I would be sure to call ahead the day of the event to make sure the order is scheduled as needed- The chicken tenders are DELICIOUS. read more

I'm getting not to like shopping at Meijer's. I am over having everything rang up at full price and then having to get adjustments, on very shopping trip.... these items are actually on sale and posted on sale on the shelves. On our shopping trip today in one trip; on 2 items but a total quantity of 7 items, that we were over charged on. Which came out to paying an additional $12.00 + change over charged. That is quite a bit of money it you're not paying attention to the prices. Can you imagine the money Meijiers is pocketing on the items that are not caught by customers. Well, my wife likes the Pike Plaza Store. And, the widow lady next door is starting to switch to Meijer from Kroger and she is picky with a capital 'P". But, then just tonight I waited at the deli for twenty minutes and the two ladies were only able to help two people in front of me. I left very irritated, after picking up a couple of other items. We do our major grocery shopping here. The produce is very good quality and a good variety. The prices are spotty on some other items (I use a lot of like printer ink I purchase elsewhere). Marsh is about the same, now. Kroger is spotty - but, the Speedway Kroger Store is the exception we go there sometimes. read more

I had a charming experience with the customer no service desk at this location today. I had purchased an iron, ( with a 1 year warranty) that had only been used a few times. It developed a short and I took it back for an even exchange. ( I had the receipt, and all original packaging.) The customer no service person refused my exchange. She stated they (Meijer) would not honor the warranty even with a receipt. I was told I would have to send it back to the manufacturer. It is going to cost more t send it back then the iron cost, and in the meantime we have no iron. I am sure glad to know this is how they feel before I spend any more money here. You have better shopping options out there. read more

I have loved Meijer since we moved to Indianapolis about 3 years ago. The new update looks very good. Only complaint would be taking away self check outs for people with more than 20 items. Seems like this was done but no extra lanes are open so longer to check out. read more

The lines here on Sunday are unbelievable. All through the store ever single line is 6+ people. Ours is currently resting at about 15. Avoid at all costs as they don't have the manpower to successfully operate their business or the wherewithal to do so. read more

I like Meijer, although I generally go to the one off 38th street in Indianapolis. The 96th Street store is OK -- standard Meijer, except this one has a better-staffed deli than most -- but ALL Meijers are always out of stuff, and particularly advertised specials. I went to get a prescription filled and price another at the pharmacy. I suspected my 90-day refill was going to be really expensive now that we have a high-deductible plan, so I asked him to price it for me. The pharmacy tech told me it would be $159.32. I thought well, that's not too bad I'll take it. When I got home, I noticed that there were only 30 pills in the bottle. I called and the tech said that my insurance would only allow 30, and that was the price. The pharmacist backed him up, but offered to see if he could get me a gift card. They won't take them back because the FDA won't allow it. The next day he called and told me he had arranged for a $20 gift card for the mistake! That certainly didn't satisfy the fact that I only got 1/3 the amount of pills that I thought I would. If that's the price, I don't even want any of them (I've since talked with my Dr. about trying a cheaper drug.) I talked the next day with the manager and he offered a $50 gift card. Still not anywhere near the $159.47 I'm out. I offered to pay 1/3 the price, as that's what I expected the per pill amount to be. They won't correct the problem and are restricted from taking back medications by the FDA, so now I'm filing a dispute with my credit card company, and I won't shop there anymore. read more
