I have been shopping here lately, instead of my usual store, Jewel. They had ground beef on sale and they even sent me a coupon. So I bought a 2lb pack. When I got home I divided it in half. When I looked the otherwise red meat on the outside was dark grey in the middle. I have never had this happen before. What I think they did was take older meat and "incase" it in fresher/newer meat. This bothered me. So I think I will return to shopping at Jewel again... I've lost trust in Mjiers. I took pictures of the meat. read more

I stopped by for aquatic plants as I heard from a friend that they are top quality and at a good price. I'd be remiss if I didn't admit my skepticism since I usually purchase plants from pet stores only. However, I was pleasantly surprised! First a big shoutout to Rhonda and Troy for doing an awesome job caring for the fish and plants here! For Meijer not to be a pet store, these are the cleanest and most well kept tanks! All kudos to Rhonda and Troy for their hard work. We purchased several plants and are headed home to add them to our 3 tanks. I will be back. read more

They have a bunch of dishonest people working in the pick up area of the store who really don't appear to care about doing a good job. I spoke to a young lady regarding my order and explained that I would be there in a couple of hours after I got off work that I was running late. She told me that the Department would be open until after 8 o'clock and I could pick it up anytime between 1 o'clock when I called and on until the store closed. As she and a young male laughed before she hung up the phone, she canceled my order not even five minutes later. I received the app notification, alerting me to the fact that she had canceled my order. I went to the store at 5:00 to receive confirmation from Lee that it was in fact canceled, but that she would pick the order herself, and give me a gift card for the inconvenience.... and a call once she had pulled the order. On the eve of Thanksgiving, I called up to the store to be told that they were too busy to assist me by phone. It was 3 o'clock and I had not heard from Lee , I was told by Christina that there were a lot of things going on in the department, but I would be able to pick up my $52 order,and that it would be free for the inconvenience. Over two days I spoke to both Christina and Lee, who are managers in the pick up section of the store, and they both explained that there was a lot of dysfunction going on in the department and for my inconvenience, they would give me the order and a gift card, free of charge. There were two items on my list that they said they were out of stock, but they still charged for them. To this day, they have not taken the two out of stock items off of my Discover card, nor did they give me the order for free as they said they would ,and while it was only $52, I never requested that it be free nor did they give me a gift card. I have had this experience with this store numerous times before , but because I know that every store in any situation can have dysfunction, I tried to give them OTHER chances to find out that there is so much dysfunction and incompetence in that department. More recent reasons as to why I'm fed up with this store: 1. They jack around with prices too much specifically for the purpose of making more money off the customer. Example: Pumpkin pies were $4.95 each in late October. Two weeks before Thanksgiving, the same size pumpkin pie in there bakery was $6.95! Disgusting. 2. They have little regard for the safety of their employees and customers. Last week, an older female employee had to climb a ladder in the store. She fell and broke her back. Was there no one else to spot her? Was there no one younger who could have climbed the ladder? Continuing the topic of safety, today the sidewalk between the two entrances was not shoveled at all. And I was there at 6 PM. What if a customer falls and is injured? Or yet another employee? Such a blatant disregard for people. read more

If you get there in the beginning of the week of the new weekly sale you will do good. Otherwise they are out of a lot of products. Produce is iffy. Sometimes the flying birds peck at the fruit. So watch your fruit selections. Prices outweigh the lack of products mostly. read more

Came in around 8pm on 5/5/24. Philip in the garden center was so helpful and kind. It had already gotten dark, so he literally walked with us and held his phone to the plants with his flashlight. did a shipt order here than included about 6 deli items. the deli clerk took almost 10 minutes to start helping me, even though there was nobody in front of me and the other clerk was helping another customer. he seemed new so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and was polite and patient. he asked me to confirm the product/quantity about 3 times for each item. for 2/6 items, he gave me 1/4 when I confirmed 3 times I wanted 3/4. the second time it happened, he gave me the incorrect product, and when I told him he said LET ME SEE THE BAG and yanked it out of my hand, immediately implying he gave me what i asked for, even though he gave me Turkey when I asked for ham, and I was reading the items verbatim for the shipt order. he then started telling me he does shipt sometimes but "people are annoying saying I want this and I want that"-as if the purpose of shipt isn't to have an easily accessible human shopping your order and making sufficient substitutes and omissions and allowing changes as compared to other services. the whole ordeal took nearly 50 minutes, causing me to be an hour late for my delivery, & a 3 star rating which isn't good considering I just began shipt and now my stats are low. im extremely grateful to still have been tipped fairly well, but I'm sure it cost me a more generous one, as this was almost a $250 order. I also heard him mumble something along the lines of "I just keep waiting for her to leave and she won't" to the other clerk. this made me flustered and lose my momentum, which resulted in a nearly 4 hour trip which could've easily been completed in under 2. I also worked at a deli in the past and never had more than a 20 minute turnover time, and that was for the neediest of customers, and all the items ordered were pretty popular items. definitely the worst customer service of my life read more

I was at your Store yesterday at 3 pm on Thursday the 13 th. I am a senior and was in the self check out. The register said I need a employee to come enter her number in. I was at first unsure why, but the associate yelled at me and said your confusing the register because you have too much hand movement. I should know this? I was struggling to scan each one. I was trying to scan meat I had in a bag and was trying to pull each one out to scan. I said do not talk to me like I am an employee. She was very rude, and personally she should not be working that closely around people if that's how she explains what is happening. I will go to another Meijer, your responsible for these rude and ignorant employees. She needs sensitivity training. read more

BEWARE of Deceptive Pricing at the Mokena location ~ The sign directly next to the stacks of Diet Coke & Coke Cola stated in Large letters SALE 2 / $8 must buy 2 . I purchased 2-12 oz cases of Diet Coke , I also purchased 2 pkg of OM precooked bacon buy one at $4.99 get 40 % OFF the purchase of second pkg Upon checking the receipt at home I immediately noticed I was OVER charged $8.75 on Diet Coke , and OVER charged $2.04 on bacon purchases !! Upon returning to Meijer bringing the issues to the "Customer Service" dept I was told their computer system sometimes changes sale price back to regular price BEFORE the sale expires She said the sign SALE 2 / $8 was actually for "Cheerios" not the Diet Coke, despite the sign was directly over the Coke products , there were NO Cheerios products stocked within 30 ' of the SALE sign ! ! The SALE SIGN remained adjacent and over Coke & chips products for at least an hour after bringing the issue to Customer Service Counter employees attention ! After discussing the DECEPTIVE PRICING issues and returning the 2 cases of Diet Coke , I received $18.79 back to my credit card account I will NOT be doing business with this Meijer in the future ! I'm done shopping here. They somehow manage to run out of stock with 1/3 of the items I need. I am coming back Jewel!!!!

The shipit shopping feature is horrible. I ordered groceries online via the app. The order was not even close to being correct and the items they charged were not even delivered. For example, I ordered 5 pears (about .70 per pear) and was charged for 5, 5 pounds of apples at $4.59 per bag (almost $25). I ordered 1 pound of 90:10 meat and was charged for 3 pounds of 75/25 (expect d cost around $6 and charged $20). The worst were the blueberries - on sale for $1.67 per pint and I requested 3 pints for $5. I was charged for 7, 18 oz and almost $5 per container -- AND not even received!!!!! Other items charged and not received. Meijer claims some of it is an "acceptable" substitute- I did not authorize a substitute. I would not post if it were just a bad shopper - but I've had to file a dispute because they refuse to provide an appropriate refund (charged $75 when adding up all of the items actually received is around $50). With the fact stuff was charged and not received (at least 12 items) the most appropriate thing would be to refund the whole purchase. The items received were not needed without the rest of the items requested. Do not use this service. read more

I just don't understand how this store cannot manage to stock their shelves. We use Instacart and several times our orders have come up with less than half of what we ordered. So I went to the store in person the next time and I couldn't believe how empty the shelves were. read more

Meijer only caters to people that spend hundreds of dollars per week. Senior citizens that only can spend a certain amount per week don't matter. I have been asking for weeks for the Lewis half loaves of bread and week after week they say they will order them but never do. I was told that the corporate office controls the amount of items the store receives. The store was in excellent shape a year and a half ago. The store is out of many items in grocery, frozen food, health, beauty and many other areas. I no longer make this store my main stop for items. The store has gone so downhill. I never see management of any departments on the floor. It has been over a year since I saw any one from corporate in the store. My front end experiences have been excellent. I usually shop at Walmart but they are always out of necessities that i buy weekly so I decided to give Meijer a try because I happened to be in the area. Store was clean and well stocked although I noticed prices to be quite a bit higher than Walmart. Store was really crowded and had a hard time manuvering down the isles. There was also staff restocking which didnt help with the crowded isles. The cashier was friendly and moved people through pretty quickly. I will go back but not on a weekly basis. read more

Now, first off, to understand Meijer just remember one thing: WalMart stock at Target prices and atmosphere. Meaning - pay an extra buck for whatever to not have to wade thru ghetto trash to shop. This particular location is very nice. It seems like they look after the aquariums (happy fish), the produce is usually free of rotted stuff (clean displays), and the seafood section on weekdays has a fella that's a genuine old-school 'fishmonger'. I haven't been in a Meijer in over five years, since I bought a book at the Bolingbrook location and a roach fell out of it. This location in Mokena is newly opened, but already cluttered. Their prices ARE MORE expensive than Jewel. I tried to pick up a few things, but the lettuce was small, half rotten and expensive, being charged by the pound and heavily watered - rip off. Final straw was the top sirloin petite fillets. Some packages were 4.99 a pound and some were 6.99 a pound for the same product. The floor person I told this to shrugged her shoulders and walked away, which is what I did with my unpurchased cart. Very disappointing selection, pricing and customer service all in fifteen minutes. I will go back to Brookhaven and Jewel. read more

I shop at this location all of the time, and it never disappoints. Last night I had a huge order for a Mother's Day Tea program at our preschool. Hope who assisted me in helping me double bag my fruit trays that I bought. She had a fabulous personality and was an asset to your store. This is one of the best Meijer's around. read more

We were in the area and decided to stop in this location for a few items. Much to our surprise this is a very nice store. We are used to our Meijer location in Tinley Park where the store is older. This store was nicely setup and there were a few meetings going on in the departments. It is good to see staff meetings going on and proper communications between coworkers. We picked up some items and noticed that this store has many more grocery options than we are used to. There was also a larger home goods selection much like a super walmart in the area. We did not experience any of the issues from other reviews but we this is the first time at the store. The prices did not deter us from buying goods here but we normally deal shop at many different stores. This stop was only for a few needed items for dinner. read more

But the employees are unprofessional Had a problem with a cashier ringing up item for the wrong customer and instead of being courteous and fixing the situation was rude and insulting. The pharmacist Stacy is the rudest and most unprofessional employee I have ever encountered. She is disrespectful not only to the customers but unbelievably rude to her co-workers. On more than one occasion she belittled a coworker right in front of me. She also had a personal conversation, using profanity, while I was waiting for my prescription. What is it that makes this beautiful store in South Suburban Mokena so awful? " They are short staffed all of the time!" I went to the deli on a Sunday at 1pm and they had 3 employees working! 30 minutes for one pound of Turkey Breast! Mind you, people are shopping on their day off for lunch meat for the week! Each customer ordered at least 4 items! It was horrible. Oh wait, that's not all, when you check out only 4 to 5 checkouts are open! There's actually a line at each of the Self Check-outs! Poor management, corporate problems, lack of funds; who knows. Then lower your prices for our time and inconvenience for this consistent problem. I was not the only customer aggrivated by these situations either. I say go elsewhere! Give your business back to Berkots. I shop at Meijer weekly. It has literally everything you need. I consider Meijer a step above Walmart in their quality. Their prices are low for most everything except greeting cards. Their produce blows away Jewel. Great variety, very fresh and low prices. I can't stand it when stores try to sell shriveled produce at top dollar. I also like the household item selections as well. The shelves are neatly maintained and easy to find what you're looking for. I would consider them above Walmart in this area and just ever so slight below target. I don't bother driving an extra mile to Target for this reason. Clothing is not bad either. I have found great items and the clothing sales are the best! One of the best things is their app. You can clip coupons and deals. Since downloading it a few months ago I have saved over $600.00. I didn't want to be bothered with it at first but it's so easy. Give it a try. If you haven't tried Meijer, you should. read more

Recently opened and nice place. I stopped by on Monday evening and the place was empty not many people out shopping. This was a good thing as it gave me time to check the place out. Wide aisles so you do not feel crowded at all. Everything was neat and tidy. Like others I liked how the freezers lit up when I walked by, they noticed me. Prices are about average on most maybe a little higher on other. Did score a grill for a good price, I have seen it on sale at other stores for more. I can honestly say I will never shop at Meijer again. The worst part of the store is the poorly trained employees. Employees wander aimlessly through the store ignoring customers clearly needing help. (I ended up helping an older lady find an item she couldn't find as 3 employees walked past). Upon check out one of my items would not ring up. I was told if I wanted to purchase the item to come back later. Who says that?! How about calling back to the department and asking for the price and ring it up manually. The entire store was out of c cell batteries. How is that even possible?! I looked at both battery kiosks in the front of the store as well as the half a dozen battery hanger things in some aisles. Also checked the checkouts. All out of stock. I am not going back to Meijer until they hire some people to staff their check out lines. There were only 3 people working the line today and it took me 30 minutes to buy 6 items. I won't use the self-checkout line as that is used by the store so they don't have to hire people to work the regular checkouts and that is good for Meijer bottom line, but not good for those people who need jobs. If you have stock in Meijer, it would behove you to use the self checkout, but if you are just a regular joe like me, you will boycott it and make them hire people.So long Meijer!! Oh and I did try to complain at the service desk before I left and there were 5 people standing around a computer chatting. I stood there for a good 3 minutes and nobody said boo to me so I left.
