Almost every thing from top to bottom needs changing. Many years ago this was my favorite store. Not any more! This chain needs to update it:d items and approach to the current preferences of younger adults and knowledgeable others. I went to this store yesterday and felt like I was in Walmart. On this huge store there was only one line to get a real person line for ringing up your groceries -:everything else was self check. Contrast this to the smaller Trader Joes with ten person lines. Like Walmart, the deli has only sodium nitrite meat selections that are all classified now as class one carcinogens,! Also, like Walmart there are no reduced fat cheeses in the store. Nutrition researchers now recommend to buy only cheeses with 3% or less saturated fat. . On the breakfast cereal side, about half of their cereals were highly sweetened and none were lines of healthy cereals. The organic fruits and vegetables are way in the back of the store with limited types and high prices. If you go to most of the mainline churches today, you will find mostly gray heads and fewer attendees. They don't keep up with the times . Likewise at Meijer s, most of their customers are gray heads. Young and middle age shoppers have turned to stores like Trader Joes and Costc.o. read more

I prepare a list, based on the 'Weekly Ad', and only about half of the items are ever on the shelves regardless of which day I shop. I've contacted both the headquarters customer service and the Northville store about this, but nothing ever changes. Even when you check ahead of time for availability, the items still are often not on the shelves. The ads are often wrong, too. Items are either not marked with a price, or the price isn't the same as the ad. read more

This is my favorite place to shop. They are always running sales. Plenty of buy one and get one 50% off. The store is always well stocked and the employees are always helpful and friendly. It's a clean and well kept store for any and all needs. I highly recommend. read more

We were double charged on our M-C for groceries we did not buy. I have a print out of what we did buy with a lot lower cost than the two amounts still on our account. The largest amount was included in our M-C auto pay. Almost one month with no resolution!!!! read more

I have been an avid Kroger shopper up until the 2020 time frame. With limiting my shopping excursions, I shopped mostly speciality stores and Busches. I still frequent Joe's meats and produce and Cantoros as well. I did start shopping at Meijer's more often. I love the selection, the prices and the organization of the store. The prices are a stand out! It is sure nice to have the grocery bill represent some very good discounts. I also like the baked good section and the deli. As with many stores, it is apparent that the supply- chain is still an issue, some departments have lower stock levels. My fear was check out. Some big stores seem to have a lot of challenges staffing the check out lanes. Meijer has staff working and it looks like management steps in when things get busy. I have been to this location about 4 times and each experience has been quite good. I think Meijer will displace Kroger permanently. read more

Besides the flower section that could use a serious upgrade, once you get use to the set up, it is one of the sanest Meijer I have been to and I have shopped Meijer in 3 different states. Bottle room is never crowded and the machines work. Even on a Saturday afternoon with the parking lot crowded, it doesn't seem that crowded. I can find the stuff I come to stock up on. The workers are helpful and friendly. Even the lines to check out is rarely lined up in the clothing section. With multiple ways to get off 8 mile, you can avoid the nightmare of Haggerty Rd is around there ( what planning commission would agree to put Target, Costco, Meijer, and a Chick-fil-A in less than a quarter mile section with a Kohls and bunch of eating places!!!) I guess this is my Meijer now. read more

Rude employees that don't care about Meijer. Disappointed that Meijer's keeps moving the grocery goods around. Employees are no help. Also several times I have purchased brand name salad dressing or marinade that was mostly water. Didn't bother returning the item as the return line is always long and slow. I now visually inspect each item carefully before purchasing. What happened to customer service? Also quality of their produce department has greatly declined. Keep hoping things will turn around . The Northville store is better than most Meijer's. Walked out of another Meijer because of a hostile atmosphere. read more

I'd leave this place 0 stars if I could. The store is ALWAYS DIRTY! There is never any food stocked on shelves. NO CHICKEN, or produce, the produce looks awful and the lettuce is always about to die before you even get it home. 1 checkout open when you have a full cart. Rude workers who don't help you at all. This Meijer was clean and surprisingly well stocked before the holidays. There were a lot of handicapped parking spaces as well as "15 minute" spaces for those that need to run in and grab an item or two. In a time when cashiers are gold and hard to find, they had many lanes open. I was happy to see the week of Christmas, they were keeping things moving! After being my grocery store for over 30 years I am done with this store. The parking lot was full and 2 check lanes open or go through the cattle line in self check out. Then I had 6 items and 2 of them rang up the wrong price from what I picked them up at. You guessed they were both in favor of Meijer's. One was $1.50 higher and the other was $2.00. As I waited for the Self Check person to come over to make an adjustment or take them back I decided I was not going to PATROINIZE them any more. I am not sure where Meijer's lost its way but now it it is a TERRIBLE customer experience. I might also add I did not see ONE employee smiling or even trying to act like they were happy to be there. To call me to inform my 7pm order (placed at 2pm) didn't have a chance for pick up on time at 7:01pm, show incompetence in management, lack of consideration to loyal patrons and clear lack of customer service training. There is a reason why folks use curbside. Let me know at 6:30pm! I would have understood. But a minute after I was suppose to get my order? Come on. Get yourselves together. Get your software together. Luckily my husband was already in route and ended up picking up the items in store bc we were pretty low on the things we needed for our family. When asked what time I could pick it up the next day, I was told "I don't know". Maybe 12pm the latest? I don't know when it would be ready to be honest. So let's break this down . It still took me about 45 minutes to make my list by navigating the site that doesn't have a user friendly platform, 1 hour in store for my husband to pick everything up, and then another 35 minutes to be connected to someone via phone who could cancel my order bc the website wouldn't let me. Then when I thought the headache was over, I get a text message the next day saying that my order will be ready at 7pm on Saturday. The day already passed meijer! Nope nope nope. Been shopping at the Meijer for over two years. For the past several months things such as low or no stock on shelves. Have experienced Quite a few of them white and Hindu employees are racists plus the fact that since Meijer updated their computer system, their app no longer works on my mobile phone. Called CS and one person was no help at all. The next time I called I was told to disable the antivirus app on my phone. Not doing that. Will shop elsewhere! What a shame. read more

I have been coming to meijer for years. This location has become absolutely awful. Not only are there shelves not stocked. After you barely find the items you need, you then have to wait 2.5 hours in a line that goes to the back of the store in Order to checkout. Plenty of employees walking around. Not sure what they are doing but they certainly aren't stocking shelves or checking customers out. I will be going out of the way to go to a different location from now on. Shopped at Meijer this morning (I usually go there once a week or so). I tried to use my Perks at the register and it wouldn't scan (it did a week ago). The cashier was a newbie who was struggling. She told me to go to the customer service desk to get it fixed. The CS employee (30's, dishwater blonde hair pulled back, overweight) was of no help at all. She said it doesn't scan and I have to take care of it myself from home. The problem was her terrible uncaring attitude. She looked me in the eye and said "you have a nice day" with a nasty smirk and just stared at me. What a horrible employee. Makes me want to shop elsewhere. This might sound weird to most people, but I enjoy going to grocery stores, especially when I travel because it gives me the opportunities to see what local products they have that I wouldn't normally find in the SF Bay Area, and being in Michigan is no exception. I decided to go to Meijer which was like Walmart sold both grocery and non-grocery items. During my visit, I found some local products such Faygo, Sanders, Velvet peanut butter, etc. I of course had to get the Faygo, and I got both the diet Redpop and the diet Rock n Rye. I also saw the limited time Cotton Candy Faygo which I'm dying to try but it came only in a 2-liter, so sad. Then I found cherry chip cake mix by Betty Crocker's which strangely you just couldn't find in the SF Bay Area al all!!! It's so bizzare that this product doesn't make it to the bay are! Why??? Oh wells, I got 3 boxes now. Similar to other grocery stores, I also found lots of fresh baked goods that I'd love to try if my stay in Michigan were a bit longer, but hopefully next time when I come back :) read more

At many local Meijer's I can tell what's on special that week because there's an empty spot on the shelf where that item used to be. That is not the case at this location. Huge produce selection. Small deli, but the friendly staff slices everything fresh (pre-sliced lunchmeat is one of my peeves). The meat department will slice meat for me while I shop (such as turning an unwieldy pork loin into rows of 3/4" boneless chops) Good pharmacy too. While not open 24hrs, they do have nice hours (8am to 9pm most days). The last time there the pharmacist told me there was a shortage on a pill I take regularly, so I should call 1 week early so they can talk to my doctor, if necessary. At other pharmacies, I'm lucky if the conversation with a tech (not the pharmacist) consists of more than 'That'll be $8.75'. read more

The customer service at the pharmacy is dismal. Prescriptions are not ready when promised, or counted out correctly. I had 13 calls before me when I called to get it sorted and had to wait over an hour due to their multiple mistakes. I will be switching my pharmacy. read more

Stopped in to get a Tigers shirt for opening day. One of the associates working in the women's department was helpful and took me to the right area. They had a medium sized, decent selection with plenty of sizes available. They were also doing a 30% off sale on all MLB gear which was nice and they had some cute Tigers accessories such as temporary tattoos and nail decals. I purchased a t-shirt that ended up being only $13, a great deal since the sports shop at the mall had a similar style for around $30. I was in Meijer recently for St. Patty's Day gear as well and they had a ton of inexpensive accessories but were limited in T-shirts compared to last year. I walked through their Easter seasonal department and they had a bunch of fully stocked adorable items for Easter baskets including giant plush stuffed peeps. Self-checkout line was surprisingly long for a Monday night. It looked more like a weekend line when everyone's out buying their groceries. This location is pretty nice though and they just remodeled their clothing and wine/beer departments. I'll be back, Meijer is definitely a staple. read more

All of the employees here walk around like half asleep zombies. Also, this location is very rundown and dirty. Finally, the lines to check out are always a 20-30 minute wait. Im having car problems so i decided to order groceries online and have them delivered. Placed on online delivery for groceries in the morning around 10am to be delivered between 12-1pm. Got a Text from my shopper 15mins passed 1pm saying they were unable to process the order. While not the shopper fault, this is direct to Meijer being at fault for not notifying before 10:30am that the ordered was not able to be processed! Guess now I wont be getting my groceries as I don't have any way to get groceries. Now I'm hungry! They have an outstanding produce section at this location and their prices are quite affordable. Their meat section is OK, their meat cuts usually don't have as good quality as Buschs for example. This location is big and seems popular which means that produce and other similar items usually don't stay on the shelves for long which is great. It's often not easy to find anyone to help you but that's usually the case at most grocery stores that I frequent. read more

This Meijer store is the WORST! Their shelves and frozen are constantly out-of-stock. Their packaged Meijer brand potato salad, cole slaw, etc. are never fresh and always nearing the expiration date. My mother was scheduled to receive a COVID-19 vaccine at this Meijer location in January of 2021. My mother had the appointment scheduled, and when she arrived for her appointment she was turned away because she did not have her Medicare card with her. She was asked to reschedule her appointment. They would not allow us to reschedule at the pharmacy, and directed us to once again submit our information through the website to request a vaccine appointment. We tried numerous times to reschedule through the website, and did not receive any notifications for scheduling from Meijer. In March, before we had ever heard anything from Meijer regarding a new appointment, my mother contracted COVID-19 and fell ill. If Meijer had honored my mother's appointment that we had rightfully scheduled, and given her the dose that they had prepared for already in January of 2021, the morbidity associated with my mother's COVID-19 illness could have been eliminated altogether. Meijer is solely responsible for the health related costs of COVID-19 that occurred to my mother as a result of their negligence to provider her the vaccine during her scheduled appointment. The pharmacy staff is irresponsible, and does not care one bit about the health and wellness of the elderly in their community that they claim to serve as being "health care workers." They just care about putting in their hours and collecting their check. They are selfish, irresponsible, poorly trained individuals with even worse patient care skills and communication manners. The pharmacy staff should be ashamed of themselves. I hope they all know that this is on them. read more
