I was given an incorrect diagnostic test. The test said that I needed a new fuel pump for $1,236. I took my car to my mechanic down the street from my house, and he said I didn't need a fuel pump. He fixed the problem with my car, and I only had to pay 10% of what Meineke was charging me. The only thing I paid for from Meineke was my tire replacement. Even though I didn't need a fuel pump, Meineke was still overcharging me for a fuel pump that I can get somewhere else for $350. read more

Five Stars for Meineke Car Care Center in Passaic! I'm new to the area and found them online with positive reviews so I wanted to check them out. I am so glad I did!!! A couple days ago, I brought my car to have its AC looked at and Hector the mechanic noticed I was leaking transmission fluid. He showed me the leak and explained what was needed to fix it. He suggested I get transmission fluid from the dealership because transmissions can be sensitive. He showed me how to check the fluids and how to put more in if needed. I brought my car back today to have the leak fixed and Hector did an amazing job! He is professional, knowledgeable and friendly! Thank you Hector for all of your help! I also want to give five stars to David the manager! There was a small mix up and he took care of it right away and was extremely helpful and friendly about it. I was seriously blown away and really appreciated David's professionalism and friendliness! It's obvious that David cares about his customers! Thank you David for your excellent customer service! Rudest owner ever! I arrived this shop at 5:15 Friday, 45 mins before closing time. I was told to come back tomorrow morning without even asking what I need. When I tell him to see my car now and tell me if you could install the basic part I have then I will be back in the morning, but he declined again altough it was literally 1 minute work. When I ask to see the manager or owner, he told me that he is the owner and he also approved that they dont need customers. Stay away from these kind of spoilt people. read more

I began experiencing serious performance problems with my SUV and was reluctant to have repairs done other than by my auto mechanic shop. In my case, I had symptoms that could have been misdiagnosed as either a transmission problem or, a fuel delivery issue. I then realized that my exhaust system could be contributing to my performance issues and diagnostic and repair work should only be performed by exhaust specialists; I wanted to avoid spending time and money by having my vehicle worked on by my mechanic. I then visited my local Meineke Car Care Center on Main St., Passaic. This would be my first visit here. At first, I was somewhat uncomfortable with turning over my vehicle to a muffler shop. However, once I met the manager, Omar, and the owner, Jay, it became clear to me that I was in the right place and that Meineke's diagnostic and repair capabilities went far beyond muffler replacement. Their shop is a genuine down and dirty, no nonsense busy enterprise where servicing your car and communicating with the customer is priority ONE. My comfort level was quickly raised as both Omar and Jay patiently explained to me the method they would use to properly diagnose and rectify my vehicle's problems. There were no hidden agendas, no hidden charges or extras. My vehicle was taken into the shop quickly and the work performed efficiently and quickly. I was especially impressed with their welding skills as this is a critical part of all exhaust system work. Leak tests were performed and the vehicle test driven as well. A small waiting area with TV and reading material served the purpose and a decent deli is located up the block all of which made my wait more comfortable. As a new customer, I highly recommend this Meineke location and would return to them for servicing my vehicles. read more

I called trying to get a quote for new brakes. I spoke to Abdul who informed me that it would be best if I would bring the vehicle into this location and they would take a look at it which is free of charge. I agreed and scheduled an appointment the same day, which was great by the way. I arrived and after approximately 10 minutes my vehicle was taken in. I was told by the secretary that they were remodeling therefore they did not have a waiting area. She welcomed me to sit on a chair next to their desk which was placed a few feet away from the work area. After about 20 minutes Abdul told me that I need back brakes only and would get me the price. I asked the percentage of the brake pads Abdul said let me find out. The man working got very upset and said, she needs brakes and that it! I obviously overheard him and the area wasn't closed off. Abdul turned and looked at me as if I had heard what was said. I waited until Abdul approached me and advised him I will be leaving and will not be doing any business with them. Abdul apologized and provided me with a 10% discount card and advised me to please go to the Meineke located in Fair Lawn, NJ and which I ended up doing and was great btw. Mike is the best! Great customer service and he's the general manager! I did file a complaint with the company on that disgruntled employee. read more

My radiator was old, and it also had a leak so I changed it here. At first everything seemed fine, but my car over heated couple days later. When I added the antifreeze, the leak was there still, They charged me for filtering the radiator and the water was still dirty. Not only that they loosened all my cables in my engine that would make my transmission fail. These guys are negligent or committing fraud. I confronted them and the guys tried to justify it by telling me my car was old so the water is going to look dirty and they did not see any leak. Then the guy who was trying to justify the work denied ever touching the car after I told him the cables were also loose. read more

Don't waste your time and money. Not trustworthy. Manager tries to lie his way out of everything. Never fixed the problem I paid to have fixed. They switched off the check engine light and said it turned off on its own after they 'fixed' the problem. Less than a day after driving the light is back on with the same problem. Now neither the location or customer service will right their wrong. A poor old lady came in and asked about having fluids topped off and the manager told her she needed new brakes without even looking at the car! Taking advantage of an old lady?! That's pretty low. (responding to the locations comment) You already have my info. If you really valued your customers you would do your job and find my receipt and info with my name. I have already contacted customer service. They told me they couldn't do anything and that it was a 'closed case' over a voicemail without talking to me! Very unprofessional from the location up to customer service. You have lost a customer and I will continue to spread the word about this awful experience. read more

Shady, do not trust, You will not get the service you pay for. Got the the synthetic blend package which is suppose to include fluid top off, roadside assistance, 23 point inspection, and visual brake check. After leaving the shop and driving less than a mile my tire pressure light comes one. I called The guy at the shop and ask about it and he said he saw the employee check all four tires pressure himself. Took the car to honda immediately and when they checked, my front tire was 6 psi lower than the other tires. They never check the tire pressure like they was suppose to or did anything that was included in the package. Did a Half ass job and lied about it. read more

This place is the worst. I would give them zero stars if that were an option. I made an appointment and specified that I wanted the synthetic blend oil change package. When I got there I said that I had an appointment for the $35 synthetic oil change, and he said he had my information from the online form. They gave me the full synthetic oil (which cost around $30 more), but I didn't say anything as I figured that this oil would be better for my car. In reality you don't need full synthetic unless your car is 10 years or has 75,000+ miles. My car is 3 years old and has 19,000 miles. This was all fine until my "check engine" light came on the next day. I then took my car to another shop; they opened the hood and the oil cap was off, oil had sprayed everywhere inside the hood, and there was a big pool of oil on top of the engine. I then had to pay $30 at this place for them to clean everything off and top off the oil which was low at this point. It was just horrible to have to pay for an extra service when I already got ripped off in the first place! You would expect a place that specializes in oil changes to at least be able to put the cap back on after an oil change. read more

Excellent service. This place was recommended by my regular mechanic. I stopped by with no appointment or phone call. They took a look at my car right away, was able to see what was wrong. Gave me a price and said they could do it right now. I gave them the go ahead..they realized they need to fix something else, so they only charged me for the part and not the labor.
