My car's indicator lights all of a sudden started to go haywire, until eventually within an hour they all stayed on and my car died. Based on some suggestions from male friends I thought it was my alternator. I called Brent at Meister Tech and told him what I thought it was and he quoted me over the phone; SO many sites would not give that courtesy...and with the holidays here every penny counted. I took it in on a Monday morning and I picked it up after work on Tuesday. These guys are awesome. I had a trip coming up this weekend and needed some work done on my ride beforehand. They're so popular they are booking two weeks out. I explained my situation to James and he stayed late to make sure the work I needed got done. Fantastic. Not only that, he showed me how the dealer had been neglecting some maintenance items on my car - which I thought was the reason you go to the dealer in the first place! Not any more. I have been bringing my cars to Meister Tech since I got my license (19 Years). Most of the time they would turn a bolt or two on my VW and tell me to come back when I had a real problem. Now that my wife and I have new cars... we hardly get to visit Meister Tech. I take my vehicles to them when they need to be tuned, for break re-building and the dreaded engine light. I had been going to Evans Tires for all my car issues & as with most mechanics they've had their ups & downs but all at a costly expense to me. Over the years I had severely neglected even routine maintenance on my 2002 Camry. My co-worker kept urging me to "yelp" to find a better place. I gave Meister a call since its in my neighborhood. He gave me a GREAT quote for the new brakes that I knew I needed. Ugh, this was going to be a one star review, luckily their customer service is where it needs to be. I went in for an oil change/tire rotation, they were quick and friendly. I drove away and noticed a clicking/clunking noise a couple miles down the road. I got out and found one of my front tires cockeyed with metal shavings all around the lug nuts. All the lug nuts were loose! Super rookie mistake, it kind of blew my mind after all the glowing reviews on here. I put the car up on the jack, pissed, my wife came home from a long Navy underway today and I was supposed to meet her on the pier (missed that). After assessing the damage, I decided the wheel was fine. Some damage to the wheel and lug nuts, but not noticeable. I'm not usually one to complain, I usually avoid confrontation so I was just going to let it go and just not go back. But I figured instead of just sticking em with a one star review I'd give em a call, tell em what happened and see how they handle it. It was handled beyond perfectly. He drove to me with tools, offered to replace the wheel (which was overkill, but appreciated. We settled on a free service later), followed me back to the shop, checked the torque on the rest of the wheels, and wrote up a ticket for a free service later with apologies and a smile. Well done, guys. Everyone makes mistakes, not everyone is humble about those mistakes. I wouldn't let this experience keep you away, I'll be back to give em another chance. read more

I have taken all of my cars to different mechanics in the hopes of not being ripped off and I always have been. After going to Meister Auto, I can honestly say, I will never be going anywhere else. Top notch customer service, prices and communication. They had our car for two days and were reliable and honest. Beyond amazing. Our car also had a light on for about a year and couldn't figure out why... we thought it was for the gas cap... well, it was but our car is a flex fuel car and requires a special cap... Based on the yelp reviews I read, I decided to call this shop among others in the Rancho area as I needed new front brakes on my Lexus RX . He quoted me $175 over the phone for top quality ceramic brakes. I also needed to have him check some things that the Lexus dealership in El Cajon told me I needed fixed...Lexus told me I had a leak in the water pump (wanted to charge me over $1000 for this) and said I had a leak in a gasket. I showed the shop here the print out from Lexus and he said he'd check those things out for me. This place rates more than 5 stars! My brakes and putting on a new windshield wiper on the back window came to $169 out the door. He checked under the hood for the things that Lexus said were wrong.....and said it looks fine, there's no repair work that needs to be done there. He said the shop has been there since 1989...so good long history in the area. I will be back for sure....no more dealership for me. Thanks so much fellow yelpers! read more
